The overall message was concise, well written and I enjoyed it as a super quick listen. It breaks down relationship patterns that might stem from or create anxiety between two people and gives suggestions for easy behavioral modification to help combat it. I like that sort of thing.

That said, this book is written for mostly for heteronormative, CIS gender couples with a traditional power structure. There were several unnecessary references to gender that I found a bit peculiar. For example, at one point the author describes a mans need to be a leader and ways that a woman can create space for that to happen so he will take charge the way he did when they were happily in the honeymoon phase of the relationship. I think this could be true of any gender. One person falls in love with another person because of the way they take charge and make the other feel protected, as time passes, the "leader" steps down from that role and the other person misses it and wonders what happened. Simple rephrasing would make this book accessible to a broader audience.

I don't know that I'd recommend it but I don't regret reading it.

This book was offered for free on Audible and it was calming to listen to. It addresses many issues with interpersonal romantic relationships and how to identify them as well as offering some solutions.

Lots of pieces of advice and thought experiments. Narrator was a little annoying (but I'm picky) and more often than not, it felt quite biased against men. Lots of "He" and "Him" when it should have been "they" and "them"

Insecurity, jealousy, attachment, fear of abandonment. These are some of the causes in the destruction of couples and relationships between people. This is a short book, but hits very heavy feelings. The first step is to understand if your jealousy is born from insecurities (within yourself) or environmental (outside factors). And of course Insecurity, jealousy, attachment, fear of abandonment- these feelings are all entangled together- fear of abandonment can cause jealousy. Attachment type can trigger fear of abandonment, etc. The best course of action is to understand feelings, do your daily affirmations and keep strong and honest communication with your partner. Relationships consist of 5 stages:

The Romance Stage
The Power Struggle Stage
The Stability Stage
The Commitment Stage
The Co-Creation or Bliss Stage

Many people get serious during the first stage- which can last about 6 months on average. Then power struggle breaks couples. These stages can move back and forth, but initial attraction is definitely not enough. Relationships require a lot of work…

Awesome book

It covered many of the things I struggle with. But it was a breath of fresh air because it put the responsibility on me. Instead of saying your partner needs to be more understanding. This book was real and to the point. A very good read and has helped me a lot in my relationship.

This book contained some good, practical advice, but it was all over the place. Everything needed more explanation and sources to back the advice that was being given. If you’re looking for an easy introduction to studying relationships, maybe pick this up. Otherwise, there’s better options out there.

Grammatical and syntax errors made this book impossible to read. It is also very poorly organized.

I think this book has some good tips; I do feel it is a surface level read. It doesn’t have enough substance to get to the root of the issue.

Good theories behind some of it—but overall really poorly written with zero reason to trust what the author is suggesting to be true.

This book is incredibly unprofessional. So many typos, so many spelling and grammatical errors. The font randomly changes and then switches back mid-word. There are an insane amount of run on sentences or sentences that simply don’t make sense.

This book is an excellent concept and a really great idea, but was very poorly executed.

It reads like a first rough draft that was never looked over.
