Rate this book

Big, growly, and utterly protective...

These huge, hunky bear shifters will stop at nothing to claim their mates and protect their loved ones. All five stories in one convenient place. Snuggle in and read along for some silly fun, scorching love, and fierce family bonds!

The House of Ursa is fractured, and the only thing that can bring it together again is if new shifters assume the positions of power. The catch? Law requires that they be mated first. With traitors in their midst, these bear shifters will have to fight tooth and claw to protect their newfound mates. Who knew small-town living could be so dangerous?!

Contained in this Box Set:

Bearing Secrets: Kirell. The Captain.

The last thing Natalia Kristoff expected was that her friend’s wild dream to find her a fake husband for a Green Card would have any sort of success. Yet here she is, sitting in a private booth, listening to the sexiest man she’s ever seen lay out the details of just what he needs from her. In return, he’s going to sign the papers that stand between her and her dream job. She can’t believe what she’s hearing. Stand at his side, pretend she’s madly in love with him, all to satisfy some crazy family tradition? That’s a deal she can live with.

Kirell Ursa has a problem. A big one. His bear shifter family is in shambles, struck from within by traitors. With no one in charge of security, the head of his House has nominated him for the job. The only problem? Tradition dictates that anyone in power must have a mate. If he’s going to pull off this scheme, he must find a mate in the next 72 hours. Someone. Anyone. All they have to do is pretend to love him for a few days.

Things get off to a rocky start between the two when their first date is interrupted by Kirell’s enemies. As he slowly exposes Natalia to the truth, she’s forced to come to grips with the existence of another world, one she never thought existed. Shifters of all sorts collide as Kirell’s enemies work to expose his fraud, but the harder they try, the more Natalia finds she wants to be by his side. Can a relationship built on a handshake business agreement turn into something real, even in the face of a threat to Natalia’s very life?

Furever Loyal: Kincaid. The Hunter.

Kincaid’s appointment to a position of power is on hold after the accountant of House Ursa accuses him of stealing money. He knows someone is trying to frame him, but the question is who? The Queen of the bear shifters can only keep the accusation under wraps for a short time, so he must act fast. Of course, that would be a lot easier if his Queen hadn’t ordered him to take his accuser along with him. What the hell is he supposed to do with a human accountant in tow?

Haley Meynard is perfectly happy in her world of numbers as the accountant to House Ursa. Like her, they obey set laws and rules. So, when she’s yanked from the comfort of her office and told to assist the same person she’s just exposed as being a thief, all the rules go out the window. Resisting will only see her lose her biggest client and the eight-figure-a-year payday. Now she has to work with the arrogant, handsome and completely out of control Kincaid.

Thrown head-first into a world she never knew existed, Haley can’t help but latch on to the numbers as a safety line. They don’t lie, and they clearly show that Kincaid is the thief. He’s adamant about being innocent, and so she decides to humour him. That is, until the facts start to support his claims. If she’s going to get to the bottom of it all, Haley is going to have to break some rules. The more time she spends with Kincaid, though, the harder it becomes for her to stay neutral. She wants him to be innocent, to stay out of prison…. To stay with her…

Mated To The Enemy: Klaue. The Champion.

When Jessica flees the vicious werewolves for what she hopes will be the safety of House Ursa, she never expects anything more than a cold welcome. After all, she’s spent years listening to her sister’s mate preaching about the evil bear shifters. Now, one of those same bear shifters has been assigned as her guardian. Handsome, kind and utterly protective, she can’t help but think it’s an act.

Klaue has never been sure quite how he will meet his mate but watching her crash into a tree while she’s running from the wolves of House Canis is definitely not it. Now she’s here, in his quarters, and he has no idea what to do. She’s gorgeous and perfect in every way, but she also might be a spy sent to infiltrate their House. She can’t be both that and his mate, but which one is it?

The longer Jessica stays silent, the more the suspicion about her grows. Klaue is forced to fight for her safety from both within and without House Ursa, even as he tries to win the respect of his fellows. It’s...

Riley is one of those early-morning people you love to hate, because she swears she doesn't need caffeine, even though the coffee-maker is connected to her smartphone. She lives in a three-story townhouse by the good graces of a tabby-cat who rules the house, the couch, the table, well, basically everywhere. When she's not groveling for forgiveness for neglecting to pet her kitty enough, Riley is strapped in to her writing chair coming up with crazy worlds where she can make her own decisions of when feeding time is and how much coffee can be drank without her friends--of which she has three--holding yet another intervention that they threaten to post on the internet.

High House Ursa The Box Set (Books 1-5)
By Riley Storm
Kindle unlimited purchase
This is a box set of a great series of 5 books
*In Bearing Secrets (book 1) we were introduced to Kirell when his "house" is attacked. He and the rest of the guards barely save their Queen. He was appointed Captain by the Queen, so he could find the rest of the traitors in their midst. But there was one thing that was holding him back to be the Captain his Queen needed, he had to have a mate, and he didn't have one.
Natalia was given the opportunity to work in America, but the thing she needed the most was a green card and to get one she needed a husband, which she didn't have. So her best friend came through
This was a great introduction to this series.
*In Furever Loyal (book 2) we were introduced to Haley. She has been the House Ursa accountant for years. When she found a problem with the accounts she called the Queen. When she was told by the Queen to come to House Ursa she'd never been there before, so when she saw that it was a mansion
Haley was House Ursa accountant. She called the Queen when she found a problem with the accounts. When she told the Queen she was told to come to the mansion. When she saw the mansion, she almost turned around.
From the time Haley and Kincaid met, it was fast action. A good who done it.
Kincaid when he was recalled back to Ursidae Manor by his queen. He had been in Europe for nearly a decade and he didn't understand why his Queen needed him to come home but he couldn't tell her no.
*In Mated to the Enemy (Book 3) we were introduced to Jessica when she was visiting her sister Zoe at the Moonshadow Manor. When Jessica goes for a bottle of wine she overhears something she shouldn't and now she's running for her life. Having no choice she left her sister behind. Hoping the Ursa will take her I,n she drove in their direction, she was chased all the way to their front gate.
It was difficult to get behind Jessica. Here she is running to House Ursa for help how does she expect them to help her when she doesn't tell them what is going on?
*In Shifting Alliance (Book 4) we are introduced to Amber, an overworked and underappreciated waitress. She has worked her way through one low run down bar to the next. Now she thinks she is going crazy what else could it be. Something was happening to her and she was on a losing battle.
Kasperi is a mage hunter for the House Ursa. He and his team were on the trail of a very cage mage, it had taken them three months to get a fix and they weren't losing him now.
I feel sorry for Amber. Not knowing or understanding what is going on with your body, then being saved by people that keep saying they will kill you. Not very productive in helping her understand how to cope with her new powers.
*In Blood Bearon (Book 5) we are introduced to Rachel she’d transferred to the PFPD for a change of pace, this was still a bit less than she’d expected. When she is told to work with a man she does not know and doesn't want to work with she knew her life was not going to be easy. But she never dreamed of what happened next.
Khove loves his job, he takes it very seriously he is part of a six-man team of the Queen’s Own—her personal bodyguard detail— he is top dog (well bear that is) It's his job to protect her so why does his Queen keep telling him not to do his job. His house is under attack and all he wants is to be by her side, but she told him to see what was going on. And that is what he is doing. He knew others could protect her but they weren't him.
I loved how the chapters and the books were set up, it made navigating the box set easier. I enjoyed all the books in this series. Looking forward to reading High House Canis about the wolf's next. I do recommend readers over 18 this book has some hot and heavy writing and the pages just might catch on fire.

Awesome story about bear shifters and their mates

This box set about bear shifters and their mates should be read first, the the stories about High House of Canis, and lastly High House of Draconis for ultimate reading pleasure. However, I didn't do this and it was fine. I will give a short synopsis of each story without revealing the spoiler alert.

Bearing Secrets: Kirell has to be mates so he can be Captain of his house to protect the Queen. Natalie needs a green card so she can stay in this country. Will this mating be one of convenience or true mates?

Forever Loyal: Hailey is an accountant and human, who discovered that some money was missing from Ursa account, like $3,000,000. Kincaid is a polar bear shifter who is to be appointed by the queen as a Hunter. He will be able to see the magical connection between mates. But before that he must prove that he did not steal the money and is a traitor to the House Ursa. Will he and Hailey be able to prove it before time runs out?

Mated to the Enemy: Klaue is a bear shifter fighting to be Champion of Ursa. Jessica is a human fleeing from some wolf shifters because she overheard plotting against the House Ursa. However, she can't day anything for fear of getting sister killed. Will Klaue be able to save Jessica's sister and prove his love for Jessica?

Shifting Alliances: Amber is a human who is also believed to be a rogue mage. Kasperri is a polar bear shifter who also hunts rogue mages. He thinks Amber is untrained but not evil. The House Magi Will trained Amber and Kasperri in magic. Will they find the traitor, magic, and love?

Blood Bearon: Khvov is one of the Queen Guard. Rachel is a detective trying to solve the rash of arson cases of buildings owned by House Ursa. Will the finally get the crazy bear shifter mage?

The characters are relatable, Intriguing, and have unique in depth personalities. The plot is a fast paced thrilling drama with many twists and turns that keeps the reader engrossed and for the edge of the seat enjoyment. This unique take on bear shifter and other House Draconis and Canis is a must read as well a great buy from the author. Highly recommended by me.

You Want To Read This Amazing Set OVER 18 READING

Each book takes you further into the bear shifter story as they try to rebuild their House after it was nearly destroyed and many High ranking members including the King were murdered to try to take the kingdom. Each book tells the story of one replacement and the human mate that comes into the picture for that bear. I love the way the stories continue with the people showing up in all the books . This was entertaining, funny and so well written. I think anyone who gives it a try will find some enjoyment in it. You have your bear and wolf shifters, mages for magic, your humans who must keep the secret while continuing their lives with new bear shifter mates and living at the giant bear house, a Queen to rule, a war to be fought, a people to be rebuild so I ask what more could you want from a series... I know the next series about the wolves.

Bears Rule.

As a box set, this is without a doubt, the best way to read this whole series.
From the first book to the last, you'll be hooked into the residents of "High House Ursa" be they shifters or humans.
Treachery, evil plotting, secrets kept and shared, heart rending loss, emotional upheavals, loyalty, honor, hope, love and a kick ass group of characters that will have you cheering from the sidelines.
The battle so far has been won, but the War for supremacy is still ongoing.
I thoroughly enjoyed this whole Box Set a lot and am looking forward to reading the next set, "High House Canis" (which I have already downloaded)😊
Well done Riley Storm, you sent me on an intensely interesting and high octane adventure.

All the series in one package! Wow!

There are some powerful stories in here. These are not your typical meet and fall in love with mate stories. Mates are not recognized immediately, and there is a lot of work to get to the happy ever after. Every story is action oriented with a lot of character development in it. The pace of each one is breakneck, the tone of each one is intense yet hopeful and the characters are vibrant and kickass. There are some editing issues, especially mixing up the character's names. But the strength is in the power of the stories and the overarching storyline weaving strong characters against an unimaginable foe. Get this and read it for that. You'll be glad you did!

I had fun listening to the series while I was at work this busy Christmas season. Accumulated audible credits done now.

It’s weird when you like a series but hate almost all of the female protagonists. I liked the male protagonists, I liked the story concept, I liked the world building, I love shifter novels. However the only female protagonist I liked was the Eastern European on from
The firs book in the series. Every other female nah.

Essentially the last 4 books were “to stupid to live, bitchy, entitled Karens meets really great bears.

The story held my interest and the world building was good so I was able to keep listening despite the Karen-ness of the would be heroines.

I do recommend the series however.

Ten stars despite..

Ten stars despite the fact that character names were constantly mixed up and in need of quite a bit of editing. The characters were completely awesome, the storyline, twists, plots, climaxes, heat, suspense, romances, everything were perfect. This would make a amazing movie or tv series since there is so much of it with the other book series. I can't wait to start on the House of Canis series. This has rocketed into my top favorite series (especially shifter-magic) of all time; even with the editing issues!

A well written shifter romance and HEA

I hesitate to refer this series of books all ending in an HEA. These books are well written and so exciting. Even though each book had the main character finding his forever mate, the stories were all intertwined in a bigger story and I believe these books are part of an even bigger story encompassing other races of shifters of this small town. I liked the books and all the characters. I would like to purchase the complete set of all the Houses of this series, but with my husband out of work, this will just have to wait right now.

All Hail the Queen

Looking for shifter romances with strong heroes and heroines, plenty of action, not just heat but sexy time, magic and intrigue? Then this is the series for you. I love how the author lays out her shifter world and these books grab you attention from the very start.

I accidentally read the High House of Canis booklet first but for maximum enjoyment read them in order. I can't wait to read High House of Draconis but I don't want to series to end. I also hope Queen Kaelyn gets her own book!

A Good Series

New to me, I thoroughly enjoyed the tale of High House Ursa. The newly widowed Queen has positions to fill in her court and traitors to find. She has the males in mind. The only problem is they aren't mated. Each story is about the finding of said mates. While mystery and mayhem abound, I found myself cheering on the Queen's appointments and the females are that claimed their bears.

So glad I had the whole set!

Whoa!! This box set of bear shifter stories is not something you want to pass up. Great plot writing kept me guessing; romance and bidding chemistry kept me intrigued; random bits of slapstick humor has me laughing out loud and even rereading some parts because they were so believe and relatable! I have really enjoyed visiting Plymouth Falls and more so, Ursidae Manor. Now on to High House Canis to see what happens next...

Shifters, mages and fae

Five books and five romances. High House Ursa is in turmoil after a civil war and needs new, fresh power to step up to fill the vacancies and rebuild their power. Those vacancies are filled by young, strong men who all need mates. They are lucky enough to find strong women who can stand by their sides. The stories are filled with shifters, mages and fae. You can’t really go wrong can you?

Paranormal drama

This box set is one of the best paranormal series that I’ve read. The characters are so real, the stories blend seamlessly into each other and the action is non stop. If you like bear shifters, magic and romance you need to read this, there is some swearing and sex scenes so it’s more suited for older readers. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Stupendous

This saga, while each book is complete, mystically weaves together seamlessly to take the reader on magical adventure using High House Ursa as the focal point. These are well written, marvelous, and interesting. If I could I would give this collection a rating of “10” instead of 5. I enjoyed reading this saga.

Action packed

Amazing stories, page turner books. You want to keep going. The characters are well written, their stories complex and fulfilling. There still are some names mixed up (2-3 times), but the story is captivating. Nice to have the whole House Ursa books at once: you can just keep going!

I’m on to House Canis now.

A really good read!

This series is very entertaining. The main characters of each book mesh seamlessly into the next story. Some of the stories seem short but complete. The typos include name changes and omissions of words which would have made pacing and rhythm smoother. All in all an enjoyable read. I would read this Author's books again. THE TYPOS WERE ANNOYING!!😎

A fun series to read

This collection of five books has been delightful. The banter between the characters can be hilarious! The only reason I didn't give it the fifth star were the grammar errors and typos. A good editor can turn a good book into an excellent book, and I think these stories have a wonderful potential.

I really dislike it when they describe the females in the series (especially the last two) and the model on the cover looks TOTALLY DIFFERENT!!! Really irks me. They can change hair color nowadays (hair tint and technology). Anyway, 3.75-4 stars for the entire series. Wish they would add the ladies from the prior books (they are in one house). All books were entertaining.

Kept my interest nonstop throughout- exciting, occasionally surprising, just great fantasy. If you like shifter stories filled with sex and action with strong story lines, these books are for you.

Very interesting read!

High House Ursa, by Riley Story was such a well written series of stories. It kept me turning pages to find out what was going to happen next. It also was a new version of history, that I had never heard before. Great read!
