Anne Booth always wanted to be a children’s writer, but has also cleared tables in a restaurant, sold books, been a tour guide at a haunted medieval hospital, taught English in Italy, and organized arts and crafts in a nursing home, among other things. Anne Booth lives in Kent, England, with her husband, four children, two hens, and two dogs.

A nice enough story of a little cloud and the people below seeing the cloud look like things and then rain. This was very similar to Eric Carle's story of the same title.

Een lief en zoet prentenboek over een wolkje die van alles kan. Schattige vormpjes? Check! Een beetje regen? Check! Nog wat meer regen? Um, check? Storm? Ummmm, wolkje, misschien nu even niet. :P Ik vond het einde wel verdrietig, maar ik gok dat ik het wel had kunnen verwachten, het is een wolk immers. Maar dan nog ik moest even een brok wegslikken.
Prachtige tekeningen, mooie achtergronden en het wolkje was enorm schattig. Ik zou dit zeker aanraden aan iedereen.

A little cloud starts off smal,l fluffy and cute. All the people in the town are happy to see the little cloud, but gradually the cloud gets bigger, darker and not quite so popular!

A really nice tale of acceptance that also teaches about the weather and the benefits of rain.

The illustrations have a real charm and I like the depictions of the town and people.

Overall a really nice story.

Hope not too much of a spoiler, but - the resultant rainbow is a ROYGBIV rainbow, which was appreciated by a child who is taught a 7-colour Newtonian spectrum (Purple split into Indigo and Violet to reach the ideal Christian number of 7 - I'm not making that up!).

Just worth mentioning, since picture books are usually totally unreliable to draw a realistic rainbow (colours inversed and purples on the top?! No - shortest wavelength, tightest curve! Or worse - any order to the visible spectrum, or one without blue, etc.!) Alright, maybe a personal gripe, but it bugs me to no end when people can't draw a realistic rainbow (or are totally ignorant of plants, etc. - like in Vida the Vet where bushes sprout technicolour (fly agaric) mushrooms and flowers alike)

Wederom een favoriet, ook van mijn dochtertje! Dit boek verhaalt vooral via de prachtige illustraties! Zulke mooie wolken ❤️. De tekst is minimaal maar dat stoort hier eigenlijk niet, het geeft mij en mijn dochter ook de ruimte om de tekeningen goed te onderzoeken en alle mooie details te spotten (bv. de mooie bijen 🐝 of de mensen die hun raam 🪟 gauw dichtdoen. En heb je het kindje 👶🏼 helemaal bovenin gezien uit het raam kijkend?). De woorden dat het telt zijn wel mooi gekozen (rommelen/ donderen/ bliksemen / uitvegen).
