A bit slower than the first book - 3.5⭐️
Izzy is trying to find her place in the club without whoring herself out. She’s trying to forget the man who abandoned her but she also doesn’t want to. Houston is away doing whatever it takes to keep her safe, whether she knows it or now. For whatever reason, he can’t get her out of his head.
Great continuation of this trilogy! Izzy is so strong. Watching her grow and overcome her trauma is sadly beautiful to watch. Houston better grovel A LOT. I know what he’s doing is to protect her but still.
Can’t wait to see how this shit show with her father ends!

This continuation of the series was a good read. I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narration. I'm ready to jump into the next book.

Izzy is trying to cope with her new surroundings and herself after being saved from her prison, to only be put into another for her safety. While she thinks that Houston doesn't care any longer for the broken girl. Houston is still on a mission to find the missing girl and trying to prove himself as a trusted man on the wrong side. Another thrilling installment of this story which keeps you turning the pages with thrilling reveals and intense action. The princess in this story doesn't see a happily ever after and the wicked father is now only one step behind. An amazing story that pulls you into the dark twisted world of corruption, drugs, and selling of young girls, and a story to light the imagination and root for the good guys.

Part two of three then I give my full review.
I will say this second in the series is better except it ended with Izzy is being a childish brat but I kinda understand but she is under protection. They aren't doing a great job of it and Houston is not explaining himself very well.

I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it I could not put it down. I recommend that you read it.

Can you ever really find your "Freedom"? Let's hope so as it is something we all strive for.
Reckless Pawn is the second book in the Outlaw Justice Trilogy series by E.M. Gayle. I had not read the first book so I first grab it, Savage Protector, as this series must be read in order. All I can say is that after reading both Savage Protector and Reckless Pawn back to back I am quite literally vibrating and wrung out. These books are absolutely engaging with a jumbo size rollercoaster filled with emotion that takes a lot of steep dips between all the twists, turns and look-d-loops to the finish.
These books are about Houston and Isabella (Izzy) who collided together in Savage Protector. He is a member of Sins of Wrath MC and a former Marine. She is a runaway Mafia daughter (princess). They both want their freedom from their current situations. Savage Protector ends on a cliff-hanger and Reckless Pawn starts right up after it. We find Izzy has traded one prison for another, the Sins of Wrath MC. She tries to figure out how to fit into her new situation and surroundings which are totally foreign to her. She has overcome some things but others are she is still grappling with the mental effects that come from the first book. She is also without Houston now as he is trying to prove he is not a killer by finding the missing girl. So the question becomes whether Izzy can figure out how to actually find her true "freedom", which she thought she was getting with Houston.
To top it off her father, Frank, is still coming for her. Can the Sins of Wrath actually protect her or will she end up back where she started. The key to saving herself turns out to be her. If she can help the MC to take down her father for good then she can actually get her freedom.
E.M. Gayle has woven a story that will keep you up at night long after the lights were supposed to be out. I can't wait to read Ruthless Redemption which is the last book in this series. If it is anything like the first two then I am going to be calling in sick for work once I crack it open on my Kindle.

Our heroine is a virtual captive, our hero an undercover agent. Both are looking to bring down daddy, but can they survive the conflict?
This is book two in the series and I was a bit lost at the beginning, although I did catch up eventually. Still, I recommend reading the books in order so that you understand the situation from the start.
This is a steamy romance story with a lot of action and intrigue in the mix. The story is well written and the characters have depth to them once you get into the story. The plot is rather fast paced with lots of twists and turns which keep you reading the pages to figure out what comes next.
My problem with the story, however, is two-fold. First, the heroine seems rather indecisive and can't stick to a course of action or a decision. But far worse from my perspective, is that one of main conflicts between our couple is due to a lack of communication. This is a pet peeve of mine, something I am really tired of reading in stories. Just have the characters talk instead of making assumptions.
Overall, I am enjoyed the read and would like to finish the series. I just hope they have learned to talk.

I am still tense and panting after the action-packed ending to this book. It will grab hold of you and yank your emotions all over the place. Izzy is safe and not handling her isolation very well. For someone who's been through what she has, she still tries to get into trouble. Houston is still undercover and yearning for payback for Izzy. Most everyone involved with the club likes her but she still considers herself a prisoner. She has handled her issues with the bad things that have happened, but she has a hang-up with staying put for her safety. Houston finally gets a chance to talk to her, but neither of them ever say what they really mean. If they would just admit they love each other a lot of the drama would be over. Houston has admitted so much and for being so smart, she acts pretty dumb when it comes to him. If I had a man like Houston, I would definitely let him know how important he is to me. Safety is no longer a given. Izzy, Houston and Wrath have one more major battle before it's all over. If you're looking for fast, hard and intense. Congrats my friends you've just stepped off in it. An abundance of unforseen circumstances and overwhelming events brurst all of those stormy emotions into play. Caught up in all the trials and tribulations trying to survive and running out luck. The nerve racking, nailbiting, spine tingling, page flipping bombshell cuts loose and nothing will be the same ever again. Gayle nailed this bad boy 100% on point with true to life form it pulls you so deep your total focus is on every word, riveted on a razors edge. You have one thrilling storyline and explosive plot that keeps spinning with so many twists and turns you're not sure which way is up. The characters are authentic with such depth and personalities that blend fluidly. The scenes are vividly detailed it paints an incredible backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Izzy is fed up with her life at the Sins of Wrath MC compound. She is bored out of her mind, she feels like she is a prisoner of the MC, and she is angry at Houston whom she feels Abandoned her after rescuing her from a life of forced prostitution. Houston is suddenly called back to the MC from his undercover assignment, and finds out that Izzy used her knowledge of her father's methodology to bargain for a job at the MC's casino. Izzy and Houston have months apart to make up for, but she is having a hard time coming to terms with his forced abandonment. Houston is afraid that if he doesn't treat Izzy with care, her abuse at the hands of her father and former fiance will trigger memories he has tried desperately to overcome.
Fascinating, well written and unique characters with som violence, suspense and fantastic, unexpected twists in the plot. Loved this book and I love this series.

So first off, this is book two of a three book trilogy and it is not a standalone. I highly recommend you back up to book one, Savage Protector, if you have not read it and then race on back to book two, this one. It is so worth it! I love how Izzy and Houston's story continues in this book and just gets better and better and crazier and crazier. Izzy is feeling like she has traded one prison for another now that Houston is off on an undercover assignment and left her behind. Houston shows back up when Izzy finds herself in a pickle and saves her butt again. This book ends on a cliffhanger so no surprise there but I cannot wait for book three, Ruthless Redemption. Just the title is enough to send tingles down your spine imaging what the author has in store for these characters.

This second book is as awesome as the first, and I am really looking forward to the finale of this series! Izzy is being looked after by Wrath while Housten tries to infiltrate her father's company, searching for a missing teenage girl. Izzy feels trapped - but it's not safe for her in the open world - her father and ex fiance would make sure she paid for what they see as her bad choices in leaving. When Housten is called back to the MC, she has to fight her feelings of betrayal - she knows she is in love with him - how does he feel about her? Will they have a future together? I cant wait to find out in the third book! :-)

Another story I walked into at the 2nd volume This is 2nd in the Outlaw Justice Trilogy, and it was obvious on reading I was missing a very juicy backstory, but all the same, it was easy to follow and worth the read, and i even got a HFN (happy for now)--ish.
E.M. Gayle is clearly a talented writer. I mostly read for power-exchange stories. "Reckless Pawn" is not that, but there's still a decent amount of heat here and the author put a lot of work into constructing this fictional universe.
I'm going to have to go back and read the story from the beginning. From this peek into the world of Sins of Wrath MC, I want to know more, and follow the story going forward (along with, I hope, the subsequent stories of steamy alpha characters like Axel)

In the second installment of this series, Izzy is trying to cope with being in a strange place where she feels like she is being held prisoner while recovering from the trauma that was dealt her by her ex-fiance. Houston is trying ro get close to Izzy's father and is not supposed to see or be with her until all is done. They are both miserable without the other. Izzy gets herself in some trouble and ironically Houston just so happens to be there to help her out. This installment is full of sexual tension, drama, and testosterone. Ends in a cliffhanger leaving you wanting more and having to agonizingly wait for the final installment to find out what happens.

This story will keep you on the edge of your seat as more questions arise and the danger increases. Where will it take us next?
This book was just as exciting as Book 1, and kept things suspenseful to lead the reader into the final outcome in Book 3. Great story line and wonderful characters will definitely keep your attention! You won’t want to miss any of it!

This is book two of the "Outlaw Justice Trilogy" and OMG!! You're not going to believe how this one plays out. EM Gayle had me interested with book one, "Savage Protector," so I knew I definitely wanted to read book two to find out what happened next. There was no way I was prepared for the nail biting, heart pounding, tear inducing, nerve wracking rollercoaster of emotions brought with this story. It started right where it left off and exploded into so much more. I'm on pins and needles now waiting on the next one. If you want a storyline with characters that will pull you in and make you experience everything the author has put into it, then this is the one.

Houston gets in covered with Frank Mazzeo and does what he told the club he would as long as they'll protect Izzy for him. Izzy has no idea what he has done and is mad about being stuck on the compound against her wishes. When she makes her boredom known she gets to work in the club's casino. However as usual it doesn't end well and Izzy ends up drugged and Houston finds her when he arrives on the compound. Will Houston stick around this time for Izzy? Does Izzy know more than the other know?
This is an amazing installment in the series. Once I started reading this I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

DNF - I cannot stand Izzys constant whining, complaining & bitching. She is the most ungrateful insufferable person. People risked their lives to save her. Not once did she say Thank you. Nope she says I didn't ask you to save me, I didn't ask you to bring me & keep me safe....UGH!
Then after she knows the deal Houston made to save her she still cries about how he left her there, he hurt her. ME, ME, ME. ME. that's all Izzy thinks of.
She demands to be told what's going on like she deserves to know or has the authority to demand anything.
This character could have been written so much better as a strong, feisty, fiery woman who fights to overcome her past instead of being a childish spoiled brat who whines & stomps her foot.
Very disappointing.

Oh man, it hurts. The miscommunication, the drama, the intrigue. . . . AUGHhh!! Houston's love for Izzy. It's frustrating this book. In a totally good way.

Houston and Izzy’s story continues in this book. They spend most of this book apart due to a club uncover mission Houston is on which involves Izzy. On and on the battle goes for Izzy to be free. As per information, the undercover mission is stopped, but yet they have to find another way. So, Houston is back at the compound. There’s never a dull moment for either him or Izzy. Misunderstandings and miscommunications come between them. Everything is unresolved at the end of this book. Can’t wait to find out how it all comes together in Book 3 of this series

Some time has passed since the previous book ended on its cliffhanger, not a lot, just a few weeks. Izzy has outwardly recovered from her ordeal and is safely ensconced on the MC’s compound. It is for outward appearances because she still is carrying some scars internally, and who wouldn’t. As the story evolves, new mysteries come to light, and some, just a couple, answers are given. But we are kept on the edge of our seats with the suspense and wondering. There are a few sexy moments, but this book is all about the build-up, and moving onto the final stage – takedown!

Izzy is under the protection of the MC while she tries to recover from what Marcus did to her Meanwhile Houston is trying to get closer to Izzy's father Will these two finally get a break and be together Once again we end on a cliffhanger and the dram and suspense builds even higher Looking forward to the third book in this series "Ruthless Redemption" where this wonderful series will come to what i expect will be a stunning conclusion

This is the second book in the series and it’s full of surprises as Izzy and Houston come together. The plot is great, and the main characters are meant to be together, they are also likable and realistic. The tension and suspense are ratcheted up in this book and I am eagerly awaiting the next installment. This book does end with a cliffhanger so you are going to need the next book which should be released June 14th, 2019.

Although I didn’t read the first book, it wasn’t hard to play catch up with Izzy’s situation. And what a situation that is, poor thing! She seems like a strong character, though, and has many tough people trying to help her stay safe throughout this intense and thrilling tale. This is a well written, fast-paced book, and I’m looking forward to reading the next installment.

This is the second book in the Outlaw Justice Trilogy.
And things haven't got any easier for Houston Or Izzy.
I was on the edge of my seat I couldnt put this book down. And boy was there time I just wanted to knock their heads together.
This is an amazing series and this book has got me begging for more. Can not wait for the third part

Holy....mackerel!! This book totally kept me on the edge of my seat with my heart pounding, turning the pages as fast as I could read. Sadness, anger, evil people, can she be protected from the ones that should love her? Can she trust the one she loves? Loved it and can't wait for the conclusion!!

Things get even more intense and complicated as Houston and Izzy's story continues to unfold. The twists, actions, danger and drama keep you on the edge of your seat and reading pages as fast as you can. Who can be trusted? Is love enough? I can't wait to find out in book three of this gripping series. I am posting a candid review by my own choice.
