Instead of reviewing each book on its own, I figured I'd do a little recap of the entire series this time:

Book rating: 4/5
Series rating: 3.5/5
Addiction factor: 5/5 - Even though this series wasn't perfect, it was highly addictive. I read all 5 books back to back, basically devouring them even though I can hardly find any reading time these days. I somehow made it work.
Romance factor: 4/5 - there's a lot of love, support and protectiveness in Sawyer's team, and a very unique brand of romance between her and each of the guys. Sweet and normal with Jasper, intense and dark with Vincent, fun and teasing with Elijah, passionate and reckless with Zander... and then there was Quinn, feral and protective Quinn, maladjusted to modern life, one with nature. In case you were wondering, he was my favorite.
Smut factor: 2/5 - surprisingly low on smut considering this is a reverse harem romance. I was definitely expecting something different after reading that blurb, but I'm not complaining. I liked that the author concentrated on other aspects like the world building, the storyline and the romance instead of laying the focus on smut.
There still are graphic sex scenes, though, including F/M, M/F/M and F/M/M.
Suspense factor: 3/5 - I wasn't always happy with the pacing, which was my main issue with this series. While I loved each book's climax (Banet sure knows how to write those) and the fight scenes had me on the edge of my seat, there were many long stretches of nothing more than planning, talking and negotiating. And while that might be a more or less realistic portrayal of how these things would work, I often found myself wishing for more action.
Tear jerker factor: 1/5 - there was only one time when I shed some tears... and I weep easily!
Fun factor: 3/5 - Sawyer is a sharp-witted and sassy heroine, and paired with some of her guys, there's a good share of humor and banter. As the series progresses and the story gets darker, though, so does the overall tone of the writing.
Character development: 5/5
World building: 4/5
Storyline: 3.5/5
Pacing: 2.5/5

OW/OM:
Possible triggers:
Ending:

Some final thoughts:
- All in all a great, addictive paranormal series with lots of substance that just needs some polishing.
- Badass heroine with a big heart who doesn't take crap from anyone, but her habit of taking on everything by herself got a little annoying.
-Not a big fan of the writing, to be honest. Repetitive, at times clunky and a little awkward. Too much whispering and muttering, especially in situations when it was totally inappropriate (like in busy offices or downtown New York). I feel like it did improve a little with each book.
- I did love the interactions between the characters, though, the dialogues in particular. They felt real and genuine, which made it easy to relate to all of them.
- I am a little sad that it's actually over, which is a good sign. Those guys, and Sawyer, have really grown on me.
- Recommended!

3.5 Good ending!

Overall, there were some ups and downs with this series, but it was a good one in the end. I appreciated that it didn't drag too much and, most of the time, it kept me hooked (well done, Kristen Banet).

You can see a growth in the MC and her guys are fun and support her 'til the end (what else would we expect?). There's a certain chemistry between them, and the books were fun and fast-paced. The plot was decent, and the writing style pretty good.

So, all in all, a good RH series to read.

I enjoyed the first few books of this series but then felt like it started to drag out without really adding much substance.

I liked how each character had a very different personality throughout all 5 books of the series. The main character, Sawyer is a strong woman who is fiercely protective of loved ones and there’s a lot of great action with magic and fighting that was entertaining.

However, this book specifically was very difficult to finish as characters would have the exact same 5 page conversation with multiple other characters. There had to be another way to show that each character had to be updated without making us read the same thing 2-3 times each. Another thing that was constantly repeated was the characters emotions and mindsets. They may first talk to another about their thoughts, then think about it again on their own, then think about it again later. If that repetition was removed from the book it would most likely be only 1/4 of the length that’s how many things were repeated. This really took away a lot from the plot and the series itself as I felt the book was pretty unnecessary. A few extra chapters in the 4th book could have wrapped up the story just as well I think.

Ignore the star rating.

I’m actually pretty quiet right now.
Serene.
There’s butterflies floating around.
It’s warm.
Fuzzy socks.
Rays of sunshine.

IT’S A DAMN HEA FOR EVERYONE FOLKS!

I knew it would happen, you can’t NOT do that unless your last name is Roth or Bartol and hate happiness.
^^still crying, you two.

So anyway, SCOOBY AND THE GANG IS BACK!
To tear down Enemy Number One.

I knew going in that I’d get what I wanted so I wasn’t really that thrilled to read it. Just wanted to get to the ending.

Downside:
1.Not enough sex.
C’mon now, Kristen. This is RH NOT YA.
2.The emotional side of this was almost TOO much in a way that it was highly annoying. I get what was trying to be portrayed, I just wasn’t feeling it. It wasn’t running deep, ya know?

We do get more Quinn + Elijah soooo no complaints there.

Overall good.
I’m happy.
No tears.
Read on, friends.

Well, I powered through. And I'm going to give it 3.5 stars.

For me, the primary flaw was that the only guy I really loved in the harem was Quinn. He got a lot of attention in book 3, but then was pretty background for the last two books. I think the problem is, Banet made him SO powerful that she kind of had to find reasons to keep him out of the fight, because if he was there facing the big bad, it would be an easy win. Kind of sucks the drama out. So with the exception of the druid book - the only one facing an opponent more powerful than him - he had to get sidelined.

Elijah and Vincent grew on me, admittedly. On a scale of 1-10, these guys all started out at 1s and 2s for me, and Elijah and Vincent grew to 5 or 6. Zander peaked at 3, as he somehow found a smidge of maturity in the last book. Jasper, however, remained The Worst, never budging above a 1. He was this loathsome combo of naive, self-righteous, hypocritical, judgmental, and spoiled. The fact that everyone treated him as this perfect golden boy made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

Where he lands, in their HEA, is mildly hilarious. Sitting at a table with a bunch of people with their heads just as far up their own asses, who also believe they alone can see the right way to do things and fall prey to corruption because of their narcissism. Seems like the perfect place for him, lol.

Some things confused me in this last book. Like, why was there so much drama about them leaving IMPO? Why would any of them want to stay? From the beginning, Sawyer was focused on completing her contract, getting her pardon, and getting away from the WMC that she said from the outset (and it was proven repeatedly in this series) was as corrupt as any criminal organization. But in this book, she was somehow the most upset that the guys wanted to leave the IMPO after she's pardoned. WTF? Since when was she thinking of staying? And why? These fucks are using her just like Axel did - even threatening people she cares about to keep her in line. She SHOULD want to take them all down. Use her hero status to expose the corruption. It was kind of weird that not only was she somehow imagining continuing on as their pet assassin, but also that this plotline that ran through the whole series - that the WMC were no different than the criminals, just as corrupt - was essentially ignored. Are we supposed to believe that Jasper fixes it all? Self righteous, whiny dickhead Jasper? Looooool. No.

But I really liked Sawyer. I adored Quinn. I liked her growth from abused, alone, and self-destructive to strong and embracing her support. I liked the overall Axel plot. I liked James, Charlie, and Thompson. So, 3.5 stars.

I'm having a hard time with the fact that this is the end of this series. No more Sawyer and the guys. It's a very bittersweet thing.

I honestly don't think this series could have ended any better. This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster from the first page through the last page. I do not want to chance giving away any spoilers so I'm keeping my review short.

My advice: Hold onto your seats and enjoy the ride!

This was an amazing series.

It really couldn't have ended better. This was a wild ride from start to finish.

Sawyer was a fantastic lead female MC. I adored everything about her including her dark past because it made her a relatable character not being a perfect MC.

Sawyer's guys were wonderful and I loved all the love that was shared between them all.

I highly recommend this series to RH lovers.

I suppose I'm satisfied with this ending to the series, but I'm not really excited about the book as a whole. It seemed to be missing something, but I'm not sure what.

The bond animals' interactions with all of Sawyer's gym kids were hands down my favorite parts. My heart broke when I learned that the wolves had looked forward to playing with Quinn's son and thus couldn't wait to play with these kids. Quinn even taught the wolves to lick faces like dogs because he though a kid would like it. Even Kaar was adorable, talking about wanting to be "cool" and loved on by the kids: "Kaar landed on his shoulder right before he walked inside, wanting to experience the kids as well this time. He’d let Vincent learn about them the day before, and now he wanted to be cool and special like the big animals. Vincent chuckled. Yeah, he wanted to be big and cool like Sawyer and Quinn too." 🖤🖤🖤

I'm not sure why I didn't like this more. Maybe because of all the moral dilemmas? Maybe I'm evil, but I wanted them to just get shit done and move on. I think I wanted more somehow from the relationships here too.

Aside from that, I had a few more specific complaints:

1. Why does everyone in this book talk to themselves so much? It drove me crazy.

2. I didn't feel like I really understood why Sawyer pretended to be fine and then lost her shit on a defenseless prisoner.

3. I really hated that she flat out told her source no when he offered more details than just Axel's location. They spent the whole book needing more info, and apparently knowing his location makes everything else superfluous? Sure.

Here are my reviews (when available) and ratings of the other books in the series:
(1) A Life of Shadows ★★★★★
(2) A Heart of Shame ★★★★
(3) A Nature of Conflict ★★★★
(4) An Echo of Darkness★★★

What a rollercoaster ride of emotions this book has taken. I loved everything about this book from start to finish (oh what a finish!) Even caught myself yelling please don't do what I think you are going to do! What a great finish to an awesome series! Can't wait to see what else Kristen has in store for us in the other series even though sad to see the end of this series!

3.5**

I enjoyed the beginning of this series. Sawyer was a strong woman with a dark past. The guys were all unique. The premise of the story was good. And I would recommend it. Unfortunately I have to be honest and admit I did not enjoy the authors writing style and I think it got worse as the series went on. It seemed juvenile. Words were repeated. There was a lot of groaning and whispering. Characters emotions and actions didn't seem to blend well. Some scenes didn't really blend well either. I really want to give it 4 stars but I found I was rolling my eyes a lot at the forced emotion and predictably. I'll definitely read other books by this auther hoping she learns as she goes. There's major potential and like I said overall I did enjoy the story.

I absolutely loved A Night of Redemption. Kristen really knocked it out of the park with this one. I came into reading this excited, but also sad. I did not want Sawyers story to end. But I have to tell you, it was such a rewarding read. I really feel like everything came together to fit perfectly for the ending. Along the way was a lot of bumps, but worth it.
The first part of the book is every reeling and recovering. The guys are hurting and Sawyer steps up to try to keep everyone together. She really takes to looking after her guys, all the while trying to find Axel. Some of her realtionships are somewhat rocky, and some move forward. The sex scenes are hot!! And finally something happened that i was looking forward to.
The guys are all hurting and a few may lash out from time to time. But Sawyer is very understing and loving toward them, and when she has enough, well this is Sawyer. She lets them know. Its one of the things i love about her as a female lead. She is just so fun to read about.
As i said everything from book one to now, leads up to this amazing ending to this can't put down series!!!

I seriously enjoyed this series. I applaud you Kristen Banet for such well-written storytelling.

Also thanks, Kristen for writing a hero story about a badass heroine that overcame her adversities and found love, friendship, and a family, in the most unlikely places. And for five other heroes to find their light in her that lead them from their internal darkness. So again well done!

I haven't done this in a while but since I thoroughly enjoyed this series I will bless it with my secret sauce of the song to best describe this book to me:

Why Does It Have to be Over

This has been a highly emotional journey with Sawyer and her men. From book one this story went dark and deep only growing from book to book. This is the final installment which is fantastic yet bitter sweet since I didn't want it to end. Banet truly does the story justice as she wraps it all up and I can fully admit it made me cry by the end. Fantabulous series that is a total must read for all!!! I loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

So. Final book of this series. The books varied from 2.5 to 3.5 stars. So I settled with an all over three star rating.

There was much that annoyed, but for all of the negative sides there was one big plus, that always gets me. A strong, kickass heroine. I just like assassins and Sawyer did deliver, at last most of the times.
But as much as I like a strong heroine, I could not ignore the things that ruined the books a little.

Like with the last series I read by this author, the biggest problem was the pacing. It draaaaaaged at times, it was so slow, not much happened, no action, no character development, just words lined up to fill an empty space. All of the couldhave used some serious editing regarding this problem.

I like the writing style of the author and especially how much work she puts in character building, in RH stories this is a big plus. The plot was all in all rather underwhelming and often times just so predictable, I am thinking of James death and Axels play in prison. But I would have lost money, because I was sure in this book, Henry was still alive and hidden. I lost that bet.

As much as I liked that the characters had their own voices, it still wasn‘t enough. Vincent and Quinn could have really used more background. A lot of the useless lines in the books could have been used to strengthen the relationship with the guys etc.

A few other things irked me, like missing communication, stupid behaviour, the ending itself etc.

But all in all I liked Sawyer and her team, with their flaws and bitchiness and the topic „moral compass“. And they growth and character development they all go through.

This is the final installment of a really great series. These characters were amazing and I will revisit them often. Sawyer was a great female lead and the men, all of them, were exceptional. Quinn will always be my favorite feral man. This RH series was a wild ride from start to finish but I have no regrets! I would recommend this series to anyone!

I was originally going to rate this a 3. I didn’t like where the story was going, how things were going down. But it managed to pull itself up.

This entire book is the run after . I’m a bit miffed we don’t get more Quinn. He’s one of my favorite characters but we don’t get much with him. He’s almost peripheral, but not. It’s weird.

I love the dynamic of the team. I was not happy where we needed up when this book began. And what subsequently happens. And because I’m reading the books back to back, I can’t remember if the events I’m recalling are in the previous book or this one. But I am not a fan of the deaths. I also didn’t like the government structure but we barely interacted there.

The epilogue is nice though I wish we had some immediately after events to see before we jump 15 YEARS into the future.

Still an enjoyable series, I will miss them all.

Great ending to the series

Great ending to The Redemption Saga series. So much emotional turmoil for Sawyer and her boys as they come to terms with what happened at the end of book 4, and at the same time have to move forward in their hunt for Axel. Sawyer is a wicked fighter, I love that she is so capable and tough during her action/fight scenes, not only in A Night of Redemption but across the series as a whole.

All the guys in this Reverse Harem series are pretty great, but I've finally decided - Quinn and Elijah are my favourite, although Quinn has definitely been a favourite from the very start. Nice epilogue to finish off the end of the series as well.

I really enjoyed this series. Watching Sawyer evolve throughout the series has been really fun to watch. The depth of her relationships with the guys is so beautiful, they really have a connection and it goes beyond the typical RH story. You can tell they all know and care about eachother and it’s not just about sex. They are a family, who loves one another despite and because of their faults.

I’m going to be checking out this author’s backlog! I’m really happy I discovered her!

Kindle Unlimited.

I'm sad to see this series end, but I'm also weirdly proud of myself for ACTUALLY finishing a series. I usually give up before I finish the last book.

I liked seeing everyone establish a balance; that seems a unique aspect to this RH series.

The fight with Axel was a little anti-climactic, and I hate that the epilogue is 15 years in the future. It feels so detached from the characters I've come to know over five books.

Solid 4.5 for the whole series. Really enjoyed it and it kept you guessing. Banet avoided a lot of the pitfalls for this genre which tend to get repetitive or dull once politics is introduced.

I feel like my qualms with this series have already been expressed in my other reviews but I shall reiterate them again.

1) why on earth did they have to live in a plantation house? and why are we being reminded every 10 seconds that it's a plantation house?
2) this series could have ended in 4 books. Book 5 felt unnecessary.
3) I felt myself getting really annoyed with Sawyer by the end, especially because she was so emotionally immature at times. Everyone else was taking the time to work on themselves for her and it just did not feel like that energy was reciprocated at all.

Elijah and Quinn were the best part of the whole series and I will die on this hill.

DNF @ 68%

It's sad to DNF this book, especially after loving the previous two, but after reading drama from the guys for more than half the book, I'm out of patience.

This is the first RH that I wish turned into an MF. Imo, the only one who deserves Sawyer is Quinn. He's the only one who really cared about her feelings and mental health through everything they are going through- the rest were just focused on their personal drama. Most of them haven't even fully accepted the fact that some part of Sawyer is Shadow.

The headhopping dragged the progress here and it sucks because this is the final book. So frustrating.

This was a pretty good conclusion to The Redemption Saga. I’m glad that I didn’t stop reading this series (especially for A Nature of Conflict (by far my favorite book of the series) and got to see the growth all the main characters had. I would say that this book was more of a 3.5 to me but I bumped it up to a 4 because of the overall series.

Sawyer has been handed her last mission by the WMC after they revoked her freedom and pardon. Kill Axel. Her guys are still reeling from the loss of their handler and constant companion/father figure, James, and it’s been hard for them to deal with his death. Sawyer steps up to the plate to take care of them and begin the steps towards facing Axel once more.

Throughout the book, we see a lot of planning and talking. Despite some of these slower paced moments, we still see plenty of action-packed ones as well. They are just as gripping as they’ve been throughout the series and a joy to read. Combining both the fast and slow paced portions of the book, the overall theme for this final book was looking towards the future. The guys are adamant about Sawyer and Vincent not getting lost in their search for Axel and their mission to bring him to justice. From the beginning, we see the guys start to realize that their future doesn’t need to lie with the IMPO or WMC, nor do they want it to be. Sawyer isn’t ready to face the future though because Axel and her past are still in the way. It’s only through coming to terms with her past and her own guilt that she can face her future with her men and herself.

We see a lot of romantic and emotional support coming from all different angles in this book from Sawyer and her men. There are lot of difficult things they all had to come to terms with and the dialogue was great at expressing realistic and deep thoughts. The steamier sections were good. Like throughout this series, there aren’t many of them like some other RH series but I’m grateful at least for The Redemption Saga that there aren’t. This is more about the emotional journey than their sexual one. It’s about reclaiming the past to gain a better future. To grow with her men and finally gain a true family.

I was really happy with the series as a whole. There were few flaws but the writing got better as time went on, but there were still some repetitive factors to the writing. The characters are very well written and have true depth, their development throughout the series so so enjoyable to read. The world building was great and the plot was engaging. Although the pacing could be slow at times, even that still added to the story. I wish there was somehow more added to the epilogue but that’s only my wishful thinking of having more Quinn in my life and seeing more of their happily-ever-after.

I would recommend this series to anyone who loves an actual strong female-lead and four unique men that grow with the FMC.

Wow, this was painful to read.

Instead of an exciting finale we get way too much time spent Seriously. Every single one of them, because one for all and all for one or what? Without those inner monologues, I'm sure the book would've been only half as long. By the 1/3 mark I found myself skipping pages, not reading them, it was like reading what character 1 was thinking from the chapter before in the upcoming chapter to see that character 2 was thinking exactly the same thing but in different words. Painful.

The way the bi couple was handled was mediocre at best. I love Quinn and Elijah, but the way they settled on defining their relationship was so clinically heterosexual that I feel robbed of a great secondary loving relationship. Why did fucking everything need to revolve around pussy...? O.o

The Axel stuff was, unfortunately, boring as fuck. Or maybe my expectations were too high? I don't know. I feel really disappointed with the final book of this series, especially in terms of this part. This could have been a wild, mad chase, hunter vs hunted, good vs bad, team vs ego, you name it. Instead, we got what we got, which I still cannot define.

The epilogue was bad. Like... there was literally no reason for it, it brought nothing to the story or the characters. There was no information in it that readers wouldn't have been able to guess at without it.

On a personal note, I'm officially done with RH books. Not my cup of joe, and I've tried now for several series. They always take away from the plot and the characters one way or another in favor of magic pussy. ALWAYS. Which is a damn shame because the plots always appear so damn promising.
