Kate Reid #10

The Kill Season

Rate this book
Special Agent Kate Reid still reels after a thinly veiled threat from one of her own. She soon discovers who has her back and who doesn’t during their most dangerous investigation yet.

The city of Rio de Janeiro is famous for its beautiful beaches and wild nightlife, but there is a dark side tourists don’t see. Rio’s favelas, or slums, are inhabited by a network of drug lords, human traffickers and dirty cops. And when victims from the largest favela are found buried in the hillside, everyone looks the other way.

However, it seems there is one who cares; a cop who suddenly finds a conscience when the mother of one of the missing pleads for help. He begins to unravel clues that point to an American, and with the help of his Inspector, they contact the FBI’s International Operations Division for help.

It’s a murder case the BAU team has no business trying to solve. It’s outside their jurisdiction. Except the FBI has offices worldwide and when they’re called on by International Ops. in Brazil, they have no choice but to come to their aid. If an American is responsible, they will bring him to justice.

Lives are put at risk in a dangerous place. Cracks in the BAU team become chasms. And when the corrupt discover the FBI is in their city, no one knows if they’ll make it out alive.

Brilliant – A masterpiece and taut read being right up there with the best in this field!
Yet another fantastic read this book is just brilliant; it has everything. Fast action starts in Rio and is about the very brutal murders of mostly young beautiful women by a sadistic narcissistic American film star.
Kate Reid a FBI profiling expert and the BAU team are requested to assist in Reo de Janerio Brazil following a gruesome following some bodies found in a shallow grave in the hillside. The local police believe it is an American who is carrying out the killing so call for assistance of the FBI but with the local Amigos dos Amigos crime syndicate corrupt police and pressure within the BAU team, not all goes to plan. As things develop and more murders happen time is the essence but the team gets double crossed with their lives in put danger from all angles, drug barons and cartel, local police.
As already said this is yet another brilliant story by Robin Mahle and a very powerful and realistic plot where Robin has given us another tight and fast Kate Reid story that one just doesn’t want to put down and is not to be missed.

THE.KILL.SEASON. Robin Mehle. A Kate Reid novel.
A corrupt government , a tainted police force, they were not serving and protecting the people . Civil Police Investigator Soso, decided it was time to remember who he was and why he was here. Asking the Inspector for them to do more then pin a picture on a wall was futile, saying if he did his picture would be add there.. Now hoping word didn’t get out that he has turned his back, on what the slums, the drug lords were into.. To get answers, he would have to talk with the Americans. It was not a rival between the gangs.
For Agent Kate it has been six weeks since Agent Murphy was gunned down. the verdict was in, now she knew who had their backs and who didn’t. Threats are made if she doesn’t work with him, if not he will tell all.
When called in to help by the International OP’s in Brazil, pointing that an American is behind the sex traffic, and missing women.
Kate goes beyond risking her life to get the truth in Rio, will change things down there now. As to how the others things she was dealing with, they were not pleased with, in her keeping quiet on, would she be reprimanded for. This plot is tense, it seems real, and you are along as they dig for the truth. You don’t think it is an American, yet greed is powerful. A definite winner once again for the author, .

Another awesome book in the Kate Reid series! The FBI's Behavioural Analysis Unit is headed to Brazil. It seems an American is possibly killing women from the lower class areas around town. They expect the trip to be dangerous and it is. With everyone from city cops to the government on the take, information is hard to come by. They definitely have to be careful and the tension among their team doesn't help matters. I did not want too put this book down. The plot is outstanding and the characters have a very good range. I'm happy with the way the book ends. A definite five starts from me!

I always love the Kate Reid books. For me they have everything a crime thriller should have. Plenty of action, tension , engaging storyline.
Although this can be read as a great standalone story it does follow on from the previous book. But it can be thoroughly enjoyed on its own. I especially like the interaction with Kate and her colleagues, in particular Quinn.
Their lives are on the line in this one as part of the story is in Brazil.
It’s another page turner and I have no hesitation in recommending to one and all.

As always, Kate Reid and her team are neck deep in a murder. Only this time it isn't on American soil, it is in Brazil, and an American could be responsible for murder there. The BAU team has been requested by the International Ops, so they must honor the request. But with a police station that isn't on the up and up, that is only the beginning of what could be a very dangerous mission for all involved. I am fascinated by how the characters interact with each other, even in hard times. Another winner by Robin Mahle! I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book.

Storyline kept me hooked!

This time the BAU heads to Brazil to investigate a case where several women go missing after having been seen with an American. Major dynamic challenges come up between the members and relationships face some challenges. One of my favorite in this series so far, but took away a star due to poor proof-reading. Grammar and spelling errors and incorrect placement of quotation marks made it or irritating to read at time. I hope this book can be edited and an update be sent out!

Best FBI Crime series

I loved this series of books! I love the strong character of Kate and how with the help of her best friend puts her life back together and she makes it through the FBI academy to become an agent and her dream of being a profiler is within her grasp. I laughed I cried and I even cheered a few times. If you like strong characters and lots of action and suspense you won’t be disappointed, I highly recommend reading the whole series and I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

As always a tense and tight thriller from Robin Mahle.
Continuing on from the last book, Kate and team get involved with a case in Rio. Young women are going missing and no one cares. Then a detective gets a case of conscience and asks to bring in the FBI since he believes it is an American that is doing the killing.
Be prepared for betrayal, gangs, corrupt politicians and police.
I received a free copy of this book.,

Absolutely loved this book! Kate has grown throughout this series and I'm a huge fan of her and Nick. I liked learning about the team & it's always nice when Dwight is mentioned. Levi is probably another favorite. My only complaint is I hate waiting for the next book in this series. If you haven't started to read this series get on it.

The Late Reid Series

A great thriller series, all the way from #1 to #10. I only have one but if suggestion for new readers. Do yourself a favor and read them in order. Th story develops, so readers will be lost if attempting to read them out of order.

That being said, I can't wait for #11.

Good story

Everyone can do the wrong thing sometime or another . Mistakes were made while investigating a murder in Brazil . A ruthless killer and a dangerous location . The team had problems developing.
Much better writing in this book . It appears it was also better edited .

An intriguing story

This was a complex story about numerous heinous murders that had evidently been happening for some time. However, with the extreme differences between Rio and the U.S., the FBI team is unsure if they'll be able to close this case.
I would recommend this book, series, and author.

Intense Murder Mystery

For readers who are followers of the Late Reid series, this is another winner. There are intense interpersonal plots as well as the drama of the murders the team is investigating. And it leaves the reader in a cliff hanger ending.

Rio Troubles

Traveling to Rio sounds glamorous, but it's not for this BAU team! Running for their lives while trying to solve a murder, makes the case very difficult. Tension among the team members adds interest to the story, too.

Kate is brilliant

Kate is learning and show her skills. She is humble. She will do what she thinks is best even at all costs. Sometimes it’s hurtful when someone you love is dishonest. Kate fights her own battles.

Troubles

Work place troubles can be the worst and it seems that our group of agents sure have their share of them. It's sort of disappointing, yet I suppose it's keeping the storyline going.

Not my favorite

It wasn't my favorite Kate Reid book. I found it difficult to keep all the people straight while in rio... But the book turned when they came back to the states. I don't love the ending of the book... But hopefully the next one turns it around

Great story line, very relevant today. Small issue, there are some spelling and punctuation issues that need to be edited out. Doesn't affect the story, but will annoy other reviewers.

Kate Reid number 10

Another fantastic Kate Reid thriller from Robin Mahle. This is an incredible series about FBI profiler Kate Reid. When the series begins Kate is a member of a police force but throughout the series she progresses to the FBI. In my opinion, this series is comparable to Allison Brennan’s Lucy Kincaid series.
