Madeline Lewis wants to be the next big thing in something - anything. She is tired of failure, although to be fair she does cause most of it, but now she wants to be a success. And the only thing standing between her and world domination is Dean Montgomery, her childhood friend. Dean has been in Maddie's life so long that he's taken on the attributes of wallpaper. That's something Dean plans to change and fast. He'd tired cleaning up Maddie's messes, he's tired of being the sensible one and he's tired of being invisible. Maddie might be confused about what she wants out of life, but Dean knows what he wants - Madeline Lewis. She won't know what hit her.
** A Note from the Author **
This is the first romance I ever wrote! And because of that, it holds a special place in my heart. I hope you enjoy it!
Janet grew up in Scotland but now lives in New Zealand. Among other things, she’s been an artist, a teacher, a security guard at a castle, a magazine editor, and a cleaner in a drop in center for drug addicts (NOT the best job!). When she isn’t living in her head and writing about the people she finds there, she raises two kids, one husband, and several random animals. She survives on chocolate and caffeine.

Reading a book by Janet Elizabeth Henderson is like eating chocolate cake.
One piece is never enough, you have to keep going back for more!
When I first read this book, it didn't dawn on me that it would foster an addiction for more and more.
I love the writing style of this author, and I love her character development. In this story Maddie and Dean have been hanging out forever, I like that Dean is that childhood friend who it's obvious is the Mr Right and everyone but Maddie can see this. No spoilers here folks, you got to read this for yourself.
This book is light and funny, and perfect for reading on the train, bus or plane. I especially like how it moves along, so of course, hard to put down!
Brilliant writing, I certainly hope this author publishes many more books.
This book is totally ridiculous and completely silly. I laughed the entire time I was reading it. If you're looking for serious, then this book isn't for you. I liked the two main characters, I suspect I could see a little of myself in both of them.
I don't think Janet Elizabeth Henderson can write a bad book. I have truly loved every one of her books and this one was no different. The characters are so fun and crazy you can't not love them. The storyline is wonderful and once you start reading beware you won't want to stop. I'm very much lookimg forward to reading book 2 in this series.
I should never give this romantic novella a five star rating , but for fun and entertainment it's worth all of them. From the prologue, which had me laughing so much my wife came to check on me, to the epilogue , this book was full of laughs. Janet, at the moment , seems to be my " go to " writer when I want light hearted stories, and this tale about Maddie ticks all the right boxes. As a novella there's no complicated plot but Janet does manage to get in some nice little thought provoking twists and turns. I read all her Invertary books , which I highly recommend , and now I've just got Laura's Bug Break to read to bring me to thisu years pre-orders . I kid you not , Janet is a fluent and very funny writer .
I liked the book, although not as much as "Laura's Big Break". Loved Dean, he is my image of the perfect boyfriend, geeky, hunky, and slightly clueless about his hotness. I could understand where Maddie was coming from, but she was a little too ditzy for me. All in all, it was a lovely romp, nowhere near as great as Laura and Charlie.
I have liked and enjoyed every book that I have read so far from Janet Elizabeth Henderson , great characters that come off the page like a good friend ! Many laugh out loud moments , some teary eye moments and easy sex scenes that aren't graphic that leave lots to the imagination !!
