Archer-
I am the master marksman at the Wings of Diablo MC Club. Any target my brothers need me to take down, I will. I am a magician with a fire arm no matter the class, from the small and simple Glock 36 to the powerful .44 Magnum, the big bad shotgun to the sleek and sexy M2010. I have been known to be stoic and calculated. To lay above the rest and smile as each bullet sailed through my target. Once you were in my sights, you go down for the long nap. I used to believe that my fate was sealed by the bullet and my gun, come to find out my life would be turned on its head by Daria. A woman in the wrong place at the wrong time. A woman who is seared into my soul.

Daria-
My whole life I stayed to myself, never wanted to get anyone upset or be a burden to those around me. So when my roommates strong arm me into going to a party at the Rolling Cobras MC Club house I try to stay as far away from the action as possible. Not that it did me any good, my favorite shirt was ruined, I got hit on by a man missing his two front teeth, oh and I got shot in the chest. Talk about a party. There was one good thing that came from that horrible experience, the hospital set up a trauma counselor, Archer. There is something about his haunted eyes that makes me believe that I can trust again. No one makes my pulse race like he does, makes my body surrender like he does. Even with secrets all around him I have no choice but to submit to him.

Rae is a daydreamer, nurse, bookworm, nature enthusiast, wife, momma, animal activist and an optimist. She has lived her entire life in NYC and loves to travel with her family. She believes that sweets should have a larger piece of the nutritional pyramid and that Buffy the Vampire Slayer was one of the best TV shows ever invented. When she is not working as a nurse in her community, she can either be found reading, writing, or taking a walk while listening to music. She has been writing books in her mind for as long as she can remember but decided that maybe there were others out in the world that would find joy in the words she would put down on the page.

I really wish these books were longer. I’m loving the series but feel they would be much better if they were longer. Archer is a great guy and I really enjoyed reading his story

Within the first three chapters, I am already loving Archer, and shedding a tear over his haunting past. He’s such a good guy at heart, he was just dealt a poor hand. He didn’t really have a solid family, so he joined the military out of high school and thought he found his family within his troop. But an unfortunate event led to his eventual discharge and he had been carrying the guilt and anger associated with PTSD even since.

Eventually, he found his place with the Wings of Diablo motorcycle club but when the plan to take out their enemy didn’t go well, he spiraled out of control as his guilt would not allow him to forgive himself.

However, every mistake leads to a new beginning and Archer eventually found his redemption in the arms of good girl Daria. Wanting to show her only his best parts, he hid his association with the motorcycle club and pretended to be her counselor for PTSD. Developing a relationship on lies never works out and when Daria discovers the truth, will their love be enough to save them?

Fast paced, gripping excitement mixed with some hot heat. A great book to spend a rainy-day reading. The only issue I had was the amount of errors the book had. It felt like the author may have been in a hurry to release this book while anther edit round would have helped bring it to five stars.

Not only as an ex-military but also a Dominant, Archer likes things neat, tidy and controlled. When a club job goes awry, he is thrust into PTSD flashbacks of eight years earlier during his days in the sandbox which only the bottom of a bottle can make disappear. When Archer finds out the girl with pillow soft hair, freckles and pink lips survived, he knows he can’t fix what happened during his military service, but he can try to rectify his current F-up. However when he comes face to face with the girl he first saw through his rifle scope he can’t help but want to protect her. But when given the choice between protecting her without revealing his true identity or his protecting his club and brothers, how can he choose?

Daria doesn’t want to be a burden on anyone else and she does like others to be disappointed or mad at her. So when her party obsessed roommates ask her to go with them to a party she has no option but to go. Little does she realize until they get there that this a party at a biker clubhouse and Daria knows from her past this is a mistake and knows what type of men these are. But that is as far as her thought process gets before she wakes up in a hospital bed connected to tubes and a gaping hole in her chest. Threatened by menacing men to keep her mouth shut about what happened, she is scared for her life.

This is my first venture in reading Rae B. Lake’s novels, and I can definitively say she has been added to my list of favorite authors to read. Dominant/submissive roles have been played out in the literary world of contemporary romance, but Lake’s take on the D/s roles is refreshing. Told from Archer’s and Daria’s POV, there is no “dumbing down” the D/s relationship for the reader and there is no questioning of why Archer is the way he is. My only negative of the story is while there are hints of Daria’s past, there is no real story to give credence to her present day state of mind. The story flows well and makes the reader not want to put it down until the end.

On a side note, Archer’s drunken internal dialog had me chuckling. Got to love an author who can successfully add humor without being cheesy.

My positive experience with this book makes me want to go back and read the first book of the series, Wire. I’m not sure which Wings character’s story is next (hints lead to Prez’s story) but I am looking forward to more of Clean.

*I received an ARC, but this had no influence on my honest review.

Archer suffers from PTSD. A shot gone wrong throws Archer back to the moment that his life was shattered; a bad call that resulted in three innocent lives wasted. Deeply scarred by the event, Archer struggles to hold onto his humanity and build a new life once he leaves the military. Archer thinks he’s found his new family with the Wings of Diablo MC....

Daria finds herself trying to understand why it happened and concerned about coming to terms with the situation. When she’s approached by a handsome man, who starts asking her questions and encouraging her to open up, assumptions are made; but when Daria sees another member of the gang, all bets are off....

I enjoy this book.
It took me a couple of chapters to get into the book, but once I was in that is where I stayed until I had finished the book, I did get my little mini movie in my head but it did take a few chapters to get it.
There are twists, turns and surprises throughout the book, some of the surprises you will see coming others you won't, some surprises are large while others are small, but all are important as the others and help to make the book the good read that it is.
Emotions that the characters go through during the course of the book can be felt, I went through a variety of emotions, I laughed, I got annoyed, I wanted to smack a couple of the characters, a few of the characters frustrated me, but by the end of the book they had all redeemed themselves.
This is the second book in this series, all though the books are stand alone, you don't have to have read book 1 to read book 2, which I hadn't, but I have to admit personally for me, I would of liked to have read the first book only because you learn about the way the mc is ran and the rolls the individual characters play, saying that it did not spoil my enjoyment of reading this book.

I’ve been patiently (not) waiting for Archer’s story. This author does a fabulous job touching on sensitive topics like PTSD and human trafficking. Daria and Archer fit perfectly together. Archer suffers from PTSD and it only takes one shot to throw him back into turmoil. Once leaving the military he thinks he finds a home in the Wings of Diablo MC. When the plans to take out the enemy go awry Archer spirals back into the grips of his PTSD. It just takes the love of a good woman to bring Archer back. Daria is at the wrong place at the wrong time but it leads her to Archer. At first their relationship is built on lies and when Daria finds out the truth will their relationship survive?

This store is fast-paced with a lot of heat. At some point in the story I was afraid my Kindle would catch on fire! I can’t wait for Clean to get his book!

I'm enjoying this series, but this book was so so. It had some errors where you had to reread the sentences and even then I would shake my head because it still didn't make sense.

Archer is a marksman from the service. Why eliminating a target he accidentally shoots Daria. He visits her in the hospital and ends up falling in love with her.

You have danger and some darker elements in this book that could be upsetting.

Dear Author please stop using Honey hole as a description of female parts.

Archer and Daria they are an instant pair her natural submissive disposition calls to the Dominant Male that is the essence of his being. Archer is the Sniper of the Wings, never misses a target and with that comes the burden of mistakes and innocent bystanders that are an avoidable situation at times. Archer already haunted by a mistake in the past not because he missed but because he nailed the target as ordered. All this would shape his response to what happens next. Daria is a computer wiz that is very antisocial and closed off shaped by her upbringing with an addicted mother and in a sense she is trapped by her need to please everyone even if it causes her discomfort… Daria meets Archer because of what he is and she loves him for what he allows her to be. The standout realization for me was that Archer chastises Daria for her self -deprecation when he himself consistently does the same thing which is a precarious balance for a male who is an Expert Dom. I personally wanted some more of the story fleshed out but over all this is a good read and I would recommend it.

Secrets can kill. When Daria finds herself injured from being in the wrong place at the wrong time, she needs to reevaluate things. When she meets Archer things just fall into place. The chemistry between these two is off the charts but how long can he keep his secret safe. Enjoy this wild ride into this wild and crazy MC. Awesome writing.

Such a good plot and interesting characters - it’s quite captivating. Some times I miss a bit more details or intel of the club, but it’s only background and if this isn’t the first MC romance for the reader this can be easily filled up with imaginations.
Intriguing enough to go for the next book in line Clean, I am so curious about this charming man.

Wings of Diablo

I am really liking this series. The story flows well and the ongoing story is quite interesting. I'm looking forward to the next book.
Quite a few grammatical errors. I don't care much for the polite \ proper speaking, people just don't talk that way. I can look past it though.

Archer is an expert marksman and MC member who suffers from regret over things beyond his control. Is history about to repeat itself? Can he withstand the burn of yet another regret? I enjoyed this book, my first read from this author, and it was an engaging read. There were some parts that dragged and could've been shortened to get to the point, but overall it had my attention, and I liked the characters. Daria was a bit too clueless, but she was a sweet girl who just needed someone to push her past her limits. The sex was a slow burn romance, and I was craving a little more action sooner, but I do prefer to have more scenes

Archer was a great story! I liked how it touched on the effects of PTSD which is so much more common than most people realize. It seems that Archer and Daria were each other’s healing even after everything blew up in their faces. This series is good and gaining momentum!

I loved this book. It goes from mind-mess to feelings in a short time.
He had a job to do for the MC, she was in the wrong place wrong time.
He made an error in judgement, that led him to a woman, who can help complete him and heal his soul.
Her ordeal led her to a man who sees her for who she really is, and comes to love her for her inner strength and peacefulness.
They work together in a world full of mistakes.

This book will pull at your heart. Archer suffering from his past is so heartbreaking. He lives for the club but he finds strength though a shy and a bit naïve Daria. This book is too filled with grit, anguish, violence and drama. Another great read by Ms. Lake!!!

With things going wrong on a job Archer blames himself, he was the one who took the shot that harmed the girl, as well as killing his mark. Seeing the beautiful woman fall, send him back into flashbacks from his time in the military, although there was nothing he could do then, he’s determined to find the girls and make sure she’s ok.
Daria wakes to see a man in a Cobra vest making sure she didn’t remember anything he wouldn’t want any bad men showing up because she snitched on them. Waking from a dream the doctor lets her know she may be suffering from PTSD and can have someone come and talk to her.
Archer knows it’s a bad idea to see Daria, when he realises, she knows he’s there he has no choice but to go into her room, when she thinks he part of the PTSD group he doesn’t deny it. The more time he spends with Daria the more he thinks about her submitting to him, the more he feels like he’s not a failure, but she doesn’t know who is really is. When his Prez shows up at the hospital Daria panicked seeing his Kutte, he lets the Prez know she’s his redemption, but the Prez tells him he needs to be all the way in if not he needs his Kutte.
Although it’s killing him not to tell Daria he’s part of a club, the worst part is she trusts him. With the danger to both the club and threats towards Daria he knows he has to tell her, but how will she react knowing he’s part of what got her shot and caused her PTSD.

Archer: A Wings of Diablo MC Novel by Rae B. Lake is a romantic thriller you do not want to miss out on! I loved feeling like I was right there with the characters. I wanted to claw out the eyes of Mallory, one of the roommates. She is such a freaking snob!

It frustrated me for most of this novel that Daria was such a pushover. I prefer strong female lead characters. She is exactly how she was meant to be though, she is perfect for Archer. The perfect sub to his Domme. Archer is a control freak and there is not a better match for him.

The fight scenes are incredibly detailed. They are just as descriptive as the sex scenes, and believe me when I say, you need to witness the steamy bedroom scenes. My lower abdominal area still tightens when I think about them. Yum!

Lake is adept at building worlds that the reader can get lost in, proficient in creating characters that we fall in love with, even if we grow to loathe some of them. This second installment was better than the first and I cannot wait to read the next in series!

Loved It!!!!!!!

This was really good. This was more than what I thought it would be. The guilt that Archer carries with him in some way made him human. Just the thought of him hurting innocent Daria ate at him and he couldn’t function without knowing she was okay. When he actually saw her and they had a chance to bond he knew she was it for him. He was so vulnerable when it came to her that he couldn’t see up or down. Okay, now I’m talking too much!!! Great story Rae, loved the hot sexy scenes, loved how Archer took his innocent Daria and made her into a willing and equal Dom, Sub duo. This was just an all around good, hot, sexy, dangerous and action packed book. Loved it!!!! On to the next one.

Good story/Bad editing

Please pay someone to edit these books! So many errors. Ugh. The story line is fantastic but put some more into the editing. Also. 99% of Americans talk in contractions. I’m. You’re. They’re. We’re. I’ll. I’d. Etc. ETC. ETC. Too many specific conversations not using contractions. It doesn’t flow. It’s unbelievable. Also. Repetitive words. There are so many words for the female anatomy. Use them. This author has Soooo much potential. I love the story. Love it. Just hard to get through at times.

Poor poor Archer. Your heart can't help but go out to him and want to "fix" him. His past haunts him every single chance it can get, and when a job goes sideways his guilt eats at him until there is almost nothing left of the man. Until he discovers that job that went sideways didn't end how he thought it did, and redemption could be his.
Daria, ugh I love my female leads strong. They don't have to break anyone's balls but I need them to be more than a doormat. There's submissive and then there's Daria. Although she is the perfect match to Archer, her doormat personality really bugs me.

There is absolutely no reason for detailed, in depth sex scenes with OW. I kept reading after the horrid sex scene with the club whore, but it was constantly in the back of my mind. It is a MC book so we KNOW he has screwed a bunch of CW, there was no need for this crap. At 50% and there is really no relationship between the two MC. we get the whole "3 weeks later we had spent time together" writing. And he feels no love toward her yet. I enjoy slow burns but i dont believe he will ever love her for her-it is only guilt that keeps him with her. Not a romance DNF 57%

Archer and Daria

I really enjoyed this book. It could have been a 5 star, but there were just too many typo errors. Please get a beta group or and arc group, hey contact me and I’ll read it for errors if you’re not going to have it professionally edited. This had a great storyline and you couldn’t help but root for this couple. I’m loving this series and will definitely read the next one.

Omg I love Daria and Archer. I loved that Archer is a dom and Daria is a sub. When he shared his story with her it broke my heart that he loves with something he had no control over. In a way I believe she got why he felt to be near her when he found out she wasn't dead. I'm so happy they are are together and I can't wait to see more of them in the future. I can't wait to read Pres.

Wow though it took me a few chapters to get into the story once there i couldn't stop and didn't want to.

Archer can't believe what he did the guilt eats at him so he needs to fix it but will the lies he tells Daria come back to bight him on the ass?

Daria can't believe what happened to her and now hoping to get past it all with the help from Archer but what is he hiding from her and when and if she finds out will she be able to stay or let her heart break.

Loving this series.
