Anna Sadler's murder sent a message.

To who, Michael 'Ward' Miller isn't exactly sure. Whoever killed his partner was a pro. She was shot at an impossible distance, by a weapon that isn't supposed to exist. But Sadler wasn't just his partner, she was the best person he knew. Now she's dead, and Ward won't rest until he finds out who was responsible.

But on Mars, 2342 AD, anyone could be the killer. The Solar System is awash with spies, mercenaries and powerful, unaccountable corporations. After powerful aliens arrived a hundred years before, colonizing the red planet, our system was thrown into chaos. The Martians were stronger, more advanced, and remorseless. They could have wiped us out. Instead we struck a fragile, uneasy truce.

And now someone wants to blow the whole thing up. And maybe, take humanity with it.

Ward was supposed to be out of the espionage business. Now he has seven days to uncover the conspiracy that killed his partner.

Or let the entire system go up in flames...

Try it I did and was surprised.

Try it I did and was surprised. I tried it as I like the authors and was really surprised at how much I actually enjoyed the book and some of the characters. Ward and Erica keep you guessing as to will they or won't they and well I won't spoil the end. I hope there is a book two?

My Review for This Book

Book was looking good, but you should have left that last part out on the timelines. You just dropped her after mentioned his loan from the AIA. What the Hell Happened to Her? No Story After Report to His Old Contact ruined book. STUPID TIMELINE PART JUST SCREWED UP BEING A GREAT BOOK. SHould Have Mentioned Her With Him Joining The AIA. Should Have Had Them Listed As Married And Being a Team Together Instead of Dropping Her Altogether! Way to Screw Up What Could Have Been A Great Ending Damn Your Hide! I Enjoyed It Till You Just Dropped Her And PUT THAT STUPID FUCKING TIMELINE ENDING YOU STUPID ASSES! HOW THE HELL DID YOU MANAGE TO SCREW UP WHAT WAS A GOOD STORY! WHICH ONE OF YOU IDIOTS GOT DRUNK OR HIGH AND PUT THAT STUPID ASSHOLE ENDING?? DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL FOR RUINING WHAT WAS A GOOD STORY! :: A VERY PISSED OFF TOMVICTORY:: PS::: HOPE YOU DIDN'T SCREW UP YOUR SPACE MARINE STORIES AND WASTE MY DAMN TIME LIKE YOU DID THIS ONE,. IT WAS AN ENJOYABLY GOOD BOOK UNTIL YOU SCREWED UP THE ENDING WITH THAT "REPEAT" STUPID FUCKING TIMELINE ENDING!!! HOPE YOU STAYED : SOBER: WITH THAT ONE!! IT LOOKS LIKE A GOOD BOOK SERIES, BUT SO DID THIS ONE,, UNTIL YOU "" TOTALLY FUCKED UP THE ENDING!!!!! ASSHOLES!!!

Really really enjoyed this story. Well written, really well paced, great characters that I warmed to, and a story that kept my turning pages until the end. Can't wait to read more in the series, but happily, this stands alone as a complete tale.

The Martian Files

This is a pretty good spy novel in space. it's written like a cold war spy novel and the MC would fit into any novel of spy and counter-spy. He's quiet and competent, doesn't do casinos but does do seriously crazy and dangerous things in completing his mission. He's not infallible but he is determined and sometimes an ass. I got caught up in the story from the first assassination.

The description is top-notch and the detail of the engineering warmed my heart. The Martians are eco-warriors, these are aliens to admire. The writing is smooth and the characters are a nice fit for the most part. There is one Martian general I thought was a little thin but I'm looking forward to the next volume.

OK book, don’t like cliffhangers.

I like the premise of two partners learning about each other, how they can grow like and trust each other. Basically I like buddy books. What I do not like is the fact that this book ended on a cliffhanger because the story was basically well done a little slow in spots but pretty good as a whole now I have to wait for the next book. I knew it would be a cliffhanger because of the title so if you don’t mind waiting for the following book read this one.

Future Martian and Human coExis

This story took a little while to get my interest, a bit much of explaining terms etc but it does take off and gets your attention. Surprised by the mixing of old and new technologies like the weapons

Hard to put down

Good character development and landscape/technology. Storyline kept me wondering “who dun it” Elements of sfi-fi, crime, spy thriller. Solar sails make an appearance, Been a while since I heard that one.

Great twists and turns, I particularly liked the realism of alien-human mutual dislike. Surprise ending that was the focus of the story.

Tightly woven, well-written adventure on 24th century Mars, where Martians came from another star.
