Holy moly! That was great! My only complaint is that the ending came too soon and was a cliff hanger! I have so many ideas of where this is going and who is who. I can’t wait to read the next one. The characters were so perfectly written. I immediately picked a man, Lucian. I loved the tension between them right away even if to start with it was in my head. My only disappointment is the lack of action between them but that can be easily remedied. Mind you I do love the dynamic that is holding them apart tremendously. Haha. The story line was great and gave a ton of back information, setting the tone for the books to come. The story flowed perfectly and kept you on your toes arguing with yourself over what was going to happen as you yelled at the characters to do what you wanted them to do. I patiently but impatiently await the next book! Thank you for the fantastic read, I will be recommending it to anyone I think would enjoy this book in fact I already have!

Oh my bleeding heart! I have no idea who to trust! My mind is a puddle and trying to figure it all out is futile! Being a part of this amazing realm again is exciting and I’m loving the new characters but I know Meg is going to throw some wicked curveballs and I’m not ready! I am so invested already and I have an idea of what I want or think will happen but that’s useless! Meg Anne always shocks, surprises and NEVER lets me down! I know what’s to come is going to be epic and my heart will be battered but I can’t wait to see how it all comes together in the end! Gah another epic journey I’m so ready for!

*ALC received from Audibly Addicted in exchange for my honest review. *

If I am being honest, I have zero idea how to review this book....

When I read the novella for this trilogy, I had a very different idea about how this story was going to go. Was I disappointed? Quite the opposite actually. I fell hard for Kieran in the prequel but then Lucian comes in and I know that Kieran is just a memory. The constant battle of wits between Effie and Lucian was perfection. Two people who are so drawn together but have to stay apart because of their duties. A little forbidden romance action always spices things up for me.

Effie was nothing and everything like I was expecting from the way that Kieran described her. She was so much stronger than anyone gave her credit for. Even Kieran and Lucian which honestly, come one dudes give the woman some credit!

This has been one of my favorite narrations I think I have ever listened to. Between Shane East and James Joseph's voices you were never lacking for anything delicious in your ear holes. Not to mention the voices that they both did that had that older man rasp going, seriously that is impressive. Stella Hunter always surprises me with her accents and the way that no matter who she is narrating you are literally pulled into her gravity.

Unfortunately, that is all I have because there are still so many unknowns!! What is going to happen with Effie? What is Kieran up to? Is Lucian going to remove the stick from his bum? Book two is sure to be full of dark forbidden fantasy just like this one and I can't wait!!

The Keepers is a new take on our typical fantasy heroine, following the story of a flawed but relatable young woman as she finds herself in the midst of a war where she is the only who See's what's coming. Anne beautifully weaves together the suspense and vivid world-building fantasy readers love, along with the deliciously angst ridden romance that keeps you turning the pages.

After reading The Dreamer, I was excited for this book as it was just the start of something incredible. And boy, Meg Anne really gave us a treat with this one. I couldn’t fault it at all, she did an amazing job at writing it, the plot was incredible as was the characters. Back in The Dreamer, you can’t help but want Kieran and Effie to end up together, you see different sides of things, but at the same time your heart kind of melts for him. So when he does finally lay eyes on Effie it’s a shock to him, but in a way it’s heart-breaking because he reminds her so much of Darrin. However, with this book my opinions of everything change completely and that’s all thanks to Meg, she really knows how to mess with your thoughts and emotions. Everything has been carefully well thought out and you can’t help but just want more from her. You can see that she has a connection with the characters and it’s great when an author can show their connection to them through their writing. I’m so excited for the next book, I hope it’s just as incredible as this one, I love Meg’s work and I’m hoping things plan out the way I want them too. I would give away what I want to happen, but honestly it’ll be more fun you finding out for yourself.

Effie is on a mission to figure out her new found powers (her visions), but also to do what she can to help out Helena and the others. She’s had to walk away from everything she’s come to know and love, and keep all the hurt and grief at bay. However, no one said that life was going to be easy for her. In her entire life unless she was with her grandmother (Miranda) or in the hands of Helena) she was looked down upon, pushed to the side because in everyone else’s eyes she was nothing, but now with her new found powers she’s got to learn the meaning of each and every vision she has. But that’s proven to be difficult when she is taken to the Keepers home, where she meets Lucian and Kieran….. She is doing everything to stay on top of her mission but to also make sure that she is taken seriously, she’s been hurt in the past but for some reason her life isn’t about to get any more easier. I feel for her, I really do. She’s such a sweet character and you can’t help but want things to go right for her. When her visions start happening more often than she’s used too, will she be able to decipher the hidden meaning between them or is she going to be too late to help save Helena, her friends and everyone else in the worlds?

*Commence keyboard mashing in 3, 2, 1...*

I WILL SPARE YOU THE KEYBOARD MASHING AND ATTEMPT TO FORM COHERENT THOUGHTS.

After reading The Dreamer I knew I was going to love this, and I was right. But going into it with that knowledge made me Kieran biased and I think it's a good thing because after what he does here there's no way I'd forgive him.

In the beginning I thought "awww, his pining is so cute" but then it becomes really twisted and justifies me liking Lucian better (at least for now).

Effie really shines as a main character, even if she does need occasional saving and is still so young. Originally, her mission was to figure out how to use her gift but it seems like no one can help her properly and she has to figure it out on her own. Kudos to Lucian for trying though, especially since he's got different gifts.

I wasn't sure if I'd like her training (I wanted more action then) but it was pretty fun. Her visions were spooky and everyone should've listened to her sooner. And the Miranda one :'(

BACK TO THE BOYS.

Can I please smack Kieran? Yes? No? Also when did he age so rapidly or did I miss something? Why couldn't he stay nice? Why must he cause me so much pain?

I like Lucian. He didn't hurt her (YET). He's always there to save her (AS HE SHOULD).

Kael is a cutie patootie too. The friendship is so sweet.

And Nord, the one we didn't meet. IS THAT THE SAME NORD FROM THE NEXT SERIES? It has to be.

AND AND AND AND, THAT SNEAK APPEARANCE FROM RONAN OH MY GOD. OPPORTUNE MOMENT.

AS FOR THAT ENDING *actually does keyboard mash*. The cruelest by far. Worse even that I have to sleep and can't continue this immediately. Well done.

Carla's Five Star Review

First off, let me tell you how excited I am to be reading more about the characters I fell in love with while reading Meg Anne's Chosen series! This is Effie's journey of becoming the newest initiate of the Keepers of Prophecy-a secret order that sees what the future holds. I just love Effie! She is as fierce as she is determined! I love how she interacts with The Triumvirate, her tutor, Kieran, and her guardians-especially Lucian.

Once again, Meg Anne has created a world that I never want to leave! I need the next book ASAP! I can't wait to see how this intriguing tale plays out! Hurry up Meg! Pretty Please!

**Audio Review**

The Keeper's Legacy by Meg Anne was a thrilling, emotional adult fantasy romance that captivated my attention from start to finish. Effie is such a flawed and brave heroine who follows her heart in all the best ways. I loved experiencing her action-packed self discovering journey to figure out her place as she becomes the new initiate of the Keeper's Prophecy. This is book 1 in the trilogy, and we are just getting started!

Stella Hunter, Shane East, and James Joseph narrate this audiobook in duet, and their performances are simply stellar! Stella showcases Effie's determined, gallant spirit in a beautiful British accent, which made me just love her character even more. Shane is fantastic in his portrayal of the heroic yet stubborn at times guardian Lucian. Shane also gets downright sinister taking on evil roles and his raspy whisper growl is quite a chilling and eye-opening experience. James Joseph is absolutely brilliant as confident, swoony Kieran. I loved getting a different perspective and further insight in the prequel novella, "The Dreamer" which James also narrates.

Overall, I really enjoyed this audiobook. I hadn’t listened to an adult fantasy romance in quite some time, and this one was full of great world-building, memorable characters, mystery, action, steamy tension, and the perfect cliffhanger that left me longing to find out more about Effie's journey! I am definitely looking forward to more from Meg Anne!

Holy crap!! I received an advanced copy to enjoy and review. Well, crap Im so happy I did.. I could not put this book down. So here i am at 1:30 in the morning just finishing my binge of this book. Effie is a great character. I was a little hesitant at first if I liked her. But as the book progressed so did Effie. The character's a great.

I was immediately swept up in Effie's story. Her visions had me guessing along with her at what it all means. She's tough but still has so much to learn. She wants to prove herself and is tired of men speaking for her like she doesn't know her own mind. I particularly loved the verbal sparring with Lucien, and well pretty much everyone in the citadel. In book two I foresee lots of groveling.

The audiobook for this story is NOT to be missed! Stella Hunter, Shane East and James Joseph made absolute magic with Meg Anne's characters. It was such a treat to hear my favorite scenes performed by all of them. Effie telling Kieran where to shove it, Effie getting into trouble in the tavern and of course her drunk scene with Lucien later. Kieran is so arrogant and entitled and James Joseph was able to play that spot on what I imagined in my head. Stella captured Effie's personality perfectly. No nonsense, fun, sexy and smart as hell. Shane is fantastic as well. He's got Lucien's exasperation down perfectly. I cannot say enough how much I love this book! I've read and listened to it multiple times.

Oh wow...loved this book! This is an exciting and intriguing read that had me interested all the way through! Effie is a different, realistic and relatable character. She is going through some tough times and her reactions are spot on! I love how she acts with The Triumvirate and I want to learn more about the three of them and how they act differently with Effie..her nicknames are great for them all!! Kieran kind of creeps me out and I do not like how he acts in this book, but I really like the combination of Lucian and Kael and want to learn more about them both. I especially enjoyed the connection to the character from The Chosen series and how these stories intertwine! I am excited to read more and to learn more about Effie, the guys and the mysterious Triumvirate! Highly recommended!

I’ve not read other books set in the Chosen universe used by Meg Anne in her The Keeper's Legacy: A Chosen Novel (The Keepers Book 1). Luckily this doesn’t matter (at least as far as I can tell) as this novel works beautifully on a standalone basis as the first book in its own adult fantasy romance trilogy. Effie is a great leading character, strong but flawed and learning and growing during the course of the novel’s pages. Great stuff indeed. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.

No No No No No I had such high hopes for him. He went through so much. He gave up so much. I wanted him to be able to redeem himself and have his visions come true . . . and then he, well you know the deal read it for yourself. This freaking author has done wonderful things in the book and has you all over the place as we follow Effie’s training. Watching her fight her insecurities and battling with emotions, she’s so overwhelmed it’s painful watching her act out. It’s a side Darren helped her come out of but as everything is questioned including her visions it just sends her back to that place in her head. It isn’t easy for her and yeah she just breaks your heart. It’s still high action and energy with so many things happening at once but, it isn’t over yet. Don’t blink because you will miss something. And don’t hate him. He doesn’t mean it. It’s heart over head. It’s centuries in the making. Can it be an interpretation gone wrong? Or will his dreams come true in the way he hoped? Guess what? You gotta wait to find out!!!

The Keeper's Legacy by Meg Anne is an adult fantasy romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Stella Hunter, Shane East, and James Joseph.

The audiobook includes the prequel The Dreamer and the first book in the series The Keeper's Legacy. I really enjoyed having the prequel included since it gives Kiernan's history.

I liked that we got Kiernan, Effie, and Lucian's points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life. The book ended on a cliffhanger which wasn't a surprise since it's the first book in the series. I can't wait for the next book The Keeper's Retribution to be released on audio so I can get more of Effie's story.

Stella, Shane, and James did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like fantasy romances.

Effie is a character that I loved in The Chosen series. We get to know more her a bit in that series, but I definitely wanted to know more. So I was very excited that she was going to be the main character in a new series I was very excited.

The Keeper's Legacy is a great start to a new series and Meg Anne didn't disappoint at all!! After reading The Dreamer, I was so excited to meet Kieran and hoped that he would be deserving for Effie after all she endured in The Chosen series. He's definitely bookboyfriend material and didn't disappoint either.

Effie needs to learn how her visions work and the setting in this book makes that very interesting. Add some amazing characters, humor, twists and turns you don't see coming and keep you on the edge of your seat. The Keeper's Legacy was a great start to Effie's story and I can't wait for more.

You don't have to read The Chosen series to start this one, but I definitely recommend it! There is definitely some background information needed!

I’m not quite sure how I feel about this yet. I loved Effie in The Chosen series, and I’m usually okay with a little problematic MC, but right now Effie is I’m giving whiny brat vibes. Side note: it is technically a separate series, but I HIGHLY recommend reading The Chosen series first.
I’m sticking with the series because Kieran is a little unhinged and I can’t wait to see what wild shit he pulls next.
I also am on the fence about Lucian. I think I love his broody, and I appreciate the concept of him hiding his emotions, but can I get a little more please?
This book is giving me slow burn vibes, but very heavy on the slow.

Omg y'all! This book is EVERYTHING! I have been a die hard fan of this storyline since Helena's first book and I honestly didn't think I could love The Chosen more but Effie's journey has me over here all pumped and ecstatic! It was definitely an emotional rollercoaster for me but it was one I more than enjoyed. I'm so excited to see where book 2 take Effie and her band of comrades! And all I can say for Lucian is YUM! I licked him first ladies, hands off! Lol.

Fantastic

I can't even begin to explain how much this book gripped me... All the questions, the forbidden romance notions and character building is triumphant.
I was gutted when I finished this book as I can't wait to read the next one to find out what happens especially to Kieran after reading his story in the prequel which lead me to read this book in the first place.
Roll on August when the next book comes out... Then no doubt I'll probably feel the same when that book ends and want the next one after that too lol.

For now I guess I'll just have to read about Helena's story in the other books whilst I'm waiting for the next keepers instalment 😊

I voluntarily reviewed an early copy of this book :) oh what a phenomenal start to a new series this was... full of surprising twists, phenomenal writing style, with my favourite type of heroine as the main character :) as in strong but flawed... I just love when a character is flawed and make mistakes, but is written in a way that doesn't annoy you... and Effie is just that... :) but before I get into all the praises, let me explain some things to you... because this is the first full lenght story in a companion / spin-off series of one of Meg Anne's other series and... well, let me just start at the beginning ;)

First, there was The chosen series... a fantasy gem filled with interesting and entertaining characters... four books that told a bigger story arch about Helena, and how she found her own powers and defeated her big enemy... and I am not using names, because it's not obvious who that enemy is from the start :) it was a fantastic series set in a made up world with gifted people and magical creatures and I loved it :) now we have a spin-off / companion series to it, called The keepers :) I highly recommend you to read the original series before starting this one because of at least two big reasons :) reason #1: you will get a better understanding of the world and a better background about Effie, since she was a secondary character in it... reason #2: if you skip it, you will be spoiled about some pretty big things... because a lot of this first book is happening at the same time as the finale of the previous series... so, the choice is yours, but I would go and read them in order :) now that we have this little explanation out of the way, let me jump into all my thoughts and feelings about this book and I will try to make it as spoiler free as I can ;)

As I mentioned before, our heroine of the story is Effie... I adored her in the original series, so when I found out she will get a series of her own, I was beyond happy... especially after everything that happened to her... and trust me, I cannot say anything else without spoiling some things that made me gasp in surprise while I was reading the previous series so hard, I almost hyperventilated... #TrueStory ;) after all that and then some... because apparently it wasn't enough, Effie discoveres she can See the future... and that means that if she wants to learn how to interpret and understand them without hurting herself every time, she must leave her friends and life as she knows it, and go with The Keepers, who can teach her all she needs to know... :) what I love the most about her, is how much I can relate to her... she makes mistakes and is a flawed character, but not in a way that is so annoying I want to reach out inside the book and shake some sense into her ;) instead I cheer her on, as she discovers who exactly she is and what she's capable of... oh, how I adore these types of stories, where a heroine sees how strong and resilient she actually is... when she sees how much she can survive... *sighs happily* it really warms my heart :) but she's not the only entertaining part of this story... oh no, it's actually filled with quite a few more very interesting characters, but I will focus my attention on two guys... ;) first, we have Kieran... we actually met him in a prequel novella ("The dreamer", part of Of thrones and crowns anthology) so some of you have some previous knowledge about him... but don't worry, it's not necessary to read to enjoy this book, although again... I would recommend it because it gives you a great insight into him as a character, and then certain scenes in this book will have that much more meaning... :) he's another Keeper, who has dreams instead of visions... and he has been dreaming about Effie for years... yeah... to say that he's happy to finally meet her would be an understatement... but his feelings are not as easily reciprocated... then we have Lucian... one of the immortal Guardians, he's a powerful warrior who doesn't speak much, but that did not stand in my way of absolutely falling for him :) from the two, he's my favourite, but I can't get into too many details why... you're just gonna have to wait for my review of the second installment where I will have a bigger discussion about the events from this book :) in the meantime, let me tell you something else before I wrap this up :) Meg Anne just becomes better and better with her writing style... I loved The chosen series, but if things go as I'm thinking they might go from my enjoyment of just this very first book, the whole series might skip the original one in my mind as the better one :) and after THAT ending... *sighs in frustration* let's just say that I am really looking forward to the sequel... ;) I highly recommend you guys this gem... it's filled with entertaining writing style, a ton of surprising twists and turns, and quite a few teasers about some future events, that I canot wait to see how will unfold... we have a kickass heroine in the main role with some very interesting secondary characters... just... go read all of the books set in this amazing world :) you will not regret it... just make sure you have enough time, cause they are all totally addictive ;)

XOXO

all the ones she has loved are now all dead and she is taken to a place where her visions can be understood better. It gets worse when feelings she never expected to feel again resurface. Can she deal with the visions and the feelings? Can she save everyone? See if she can

Cliffhanger

No a fan of cliffhangers. Book was sensual but clean. Foul language was common, but the writing was good world building and well-done descriptions. Won't read anymore of the story as I don't like tales of the undead/zombies. But the author did a good job.

This book picks up where sweet Effie leaves the main band of our Chosen heroes.

Her journey is really entertaining to witness. I loved getting to see deeper into the world of the Triumverate and her sass towards them! Lots of laugh out loud moments and plenty of action/mystery.

Can't wait for the next one :D

I love Meg Anne’s storytelling, she always pulls me into to her stories and makes me fall in love with the characters. I love a strong female character and Effie was that, Stella Hunter was perfect voice for bringing out her strength and determination. Shane East blew me away with his performance and versatility of both Lucien and the Triumvirate. James Joseph was great as Kieran, and you get a prequel to the story with his backstory. The audiobook only made this story more captivating with amazing performances from the cast and I can’t wait to see how this story keeps unfolding in book two.
