Security agent Julia Slate is going undercover. Her assignment? Protect rocker Bran Copper. He's sexy, has a reputation for living life to the extreme, and he's also the target of one very obsessed fan. Julia's job is to keep Bran safe...and the catch? Bran can't know that she's his bodyguard. Bran's manager has hired her because the star refuses to get protection. Bran just wants to be left alone. With his stalker escalating, that isn't an option.
It should be easy to keep him at arm’s length.
Julia pretends to be Bran's new assistant as she moves into his mountain home. She acts shy and reserved, a delicate flower who isn't a threat...when she can totally kick butt any day of the week. She will stay with Bran twenty-four, seven, and make sure he's safe. It's supposed to be business only, and there is no way the guy is her type. He's everything that she doesn't want in a lover. Right? But...the more time they spend together, the more she realizes that the bad boy? It's just an image he projects. There is a whole lot more to the real man.
But she’s lying to him.
Bran has been betrayed over and over again, and now Julia is lying to him, too. She thought her lies didn't matter. She thought she was keeping him safe, but she never expected to give her heart to the man she's been hired to protect.
He’s never met anyone like her.
Bran's new assistant is gorgeous, smart, and...making him crazy. He's used to women throwing themselves at him, used to people not caring about who he is—just that he’s famous. But Julia isn't like that. She touches something inside of him, she makes him want, makes him crave everything that he's never had. Soon Bran can't imagine ever letting her go. He needs her, he wants her, and what Bran wants…he gets.
As the threats keep mounting, as the stalker closes in, will Bran be able to forgive Julia when he learns the truth? Or will they crash and burn? Because THE HEART YOU BREAK...it could be the one that matters most.
Author's Ready for sin and rock? Because Bran is one sexy singer, and Julia is a bodyguard who will do anything to protect her man. But as Bran falls for Julia, as the lies twist around them, things are going to become wild and dangerous. No cliff-hangers. This book can be read as a stand-alone. So have fun and rock on!
Award-winning author Cynthia Eden writes sexy tales of contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and paranormal romance. She is a New York Times, USA Today, Digital Book World, and IndieReader best-seller. Since she began writing full-time in 2005, Cynthia has written over one hundred novels and novellas.
Cynthia lives along the Alabama Gulf Coast. She loves romance novels, horror movies, and chocolate. Her favorite hobbies including hiking in the mountains (searching for waterfalls) and spelunking.
Another cracking addition to Cynthia Eden’s Wilde Ways series, with The Heart You Break finally giving us a HEA for bodyguard; Julia Slate. As you would expect with a RS title from this author the path to true love doesn’t run smooth for Julia, especially when the man you fall for is the one you are supposed to be protecting, who also doesn’t actually know the truth of who you really are.
He was nothing like she expected… But he might be what she needed.
Rock Star; Bran Copper has taken refuge in his remote cabin in the town of Hideaway a stalker has been targeting him for a while now and keeps getting closer and closer with dangerous consequences. In an effort to draw them out he makes himself readily available by being in an easily accessible location with few people around. A plan his manager is definitely not on-board with, so-much-so he goes to Wilde Securities and arranges for a team to covertly have him protected, including Julia in the role of PA.
"Do you have secrets..?"
"…Everyone has secrets."
I really enjoyed this one, you know its going to be a bumpy ride with one of Cynthia’s titles, and the twists and turns were plentiful. The ‘insta’ between Bran and Julia was cute, and I loved the fact he went all alpha on her even when she was quite capable of protecting herself, and while she was supposed to be covertly looking out for him as well.
"I said… I wouldn’t sleep with you… I lied"
I knocked half a star off, because I had an idea early on who the villain of the piece might be and was proved correct in the end, something which rarely happens when I read this authors work. That-said I enjoyed the story between this pair immensely, both of them were working through their own demons, the sexy-times were plentiful and we got to see more of the Wilde Securities team, with Cole and Rick taking centre stage in secondary roles.
"I’m going to stand between you and any threat… You understand?"
Good to know that there are more books due from the series with Rick up next in Fighting for Her due late August, I hope Cole gets his book after that.

This is one fun, wild, action filled read that kept me going until I realized I had read the whole thing in one sitting! I absolutely LOVED it all!
When rock star, Bran Copper, has a stalker and refuses a security detail, Julia is sent in undercover as his personal assistant. She doesn’t like rock stars, she doesn’t particularly like Bran, and she definitely doesn’t like the way he makes her feel. Her job is to protect him but he’s making it difficult when he keeps trying to protect her.
Despite being delicate in stature, Julia was one tough heroine. She was feisty and smart and could totally kick butt. It was fun watching her play shy and demure with Bran, manipulating him into allowing her to stay. What was even more enjoyable was watching her fall for someone she thought was the complete antithesis of who she wanted.
”But…he was like the fire. So hot. Burning bright. Out of control. Dangerous. Gorgeous. Terrifying.”
Once more this author gives me the type of hero I adore. Bran was determined that Julia was not going to get hurt and every action he took was a step in trying to ensure that outcome. Fierce, loyal, and possessive, he was the perfect hero and I loved him for his need to protect those around him.
”Baby…” His voice was too much of a growl. Way too rough, but that was how he felt. Far too rough around her. She seemed fragile and too breakable while he was rough and dangerous.”
I’m not a huge rock star romance fan. They tend to get into elements I don’t enjoy. That was not the case with this book. Taking place outside a small community in the Blue Ridge Mountains, we are never caught up in the rock lifestyle, and for that I am thankful. The way Bran lived his life and his music are certainly a big part of the story but it doesn’t consume it.
This story has so much action and drama, it almost felt as though I was watching it on a widescreen. And it would totally translate! The relationship between Bran and Julia was delicious. They both address their feelings in an adult manner, actually communicating. Imagine that! The chemistry between them from the first moment they met was completely believable and the steam was absolutely sizzling.
This book starts off with a great pace and only escalates as it progresses. There is never an opportunity for it to bog down as things are constantly moving forward. The secondary characters are phenomenal and I was shocked when the villain was revealed. With a sweet little epilogue to wrap things up, I ended this with a satisfied smile and the knowledge that there would be more Wilde Ways books on the horizon.
So on paper Bran Cooper is a bad boy rock god walking around with a muscled six pack that could bring an angel to tears ! Trouble is he’s way more than he appears with a stalker out to make him suffer. Now Bran isn’t the sort to let others fight his battles so when his manager suggests a bodyguard there’s no way that’s happening or is it ? Julia works for Wilde Security and her latest assignment is pretending to play the role of personal assistant. That’s not exactly a stretch for the tough little Hellion but protecting Bran without him realising what she’s doing now that’s going to prove to be a real challenge ! All Bran has is his music as so many around him have betrayed him and destroyed his trust . The one constant thing he cannot abide is lies so it was a brilliant idea of the author to make Julia already culpable by deceiving him as to the real reason she showed up at his door. You will love Julia as she might be petite but she truly packs a punch and anyone getting in her way needs to watch out. There was mystery and subterfuge to work through which kept this an exciting, fast paced read although I did think there were clues along the way. The romance whilst admittedly instantaneous was intense and emotive and worked well in this story. Best of all though were the glimpses of the rest of the members of Wilde Security and I look forward to reading more about them. I’m not particularly a fan of rock star romances but this funnily enough didn’t dwell on that aspect and instead became all about the suspense and the relationship. This voluntary take is of a copy sent to me and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
Rockstar Bran Copper is taking refuge in a cabin in the town of Hideaway, trying to keep those around him away from the stalker that dodges his every step, In effort to draw his stalker out Bran has decided to use himself as bait. A plan his manager is definitely not on-board with, and so his manager decides to go against Bran’s wishes and hire a team from Wilde Securities to keep Bran safe. Part of this covert protection team is petite, ballerina like Julia Slate, who comes to Bran’s cabin under the guise of being his new PA.
Bran and Julia have a connection they seem unable to ignore, with Bran knowing he should fire Julia for her own safety but finding himself insanely drawn to her. I liked the fact that Bran wasn’t depicted as a self-entitled, arrogant douchebag.
I did feel that there were things that needed to be delved into, teased out, which weren’t. For example, the subtle undertones when it came to Bran’s manager and his relationship with Bran.
This is a Cynthia Eden book so it was overall an enjoyable read, but as I watched the relationship between Julia and Bran develop and the story progress, there was this little niggle in the back of my mind that something was missing, and it didn’t go away. Will I re-read this – maybe - but only because I want to see if my feelings about it will improve with the re-read.
This was a very good romantic suspense read. It was not the usual rock star lifestyle, regarding his stage life or fans. This rock star, Bran, had a stalker and a female bodyguard, Julia, was assigned to him under the cover of an assistant. Their chemistry was amazing, they were both mature and strong characters and the writing was very good. I really enjoyed it❣️
The reverse role was awesome. Here the rockstar alpha hero needed the protection and got a kickass heroine. Maahn they were one adorable couple with an utterly besotted hero. Recommended and safe.
5 Star Heart He has an obsessed fan that is escalating, but Rocker, Bran Copper refuses protection and just wants to be left alone. Julia Slate is undercover, she’s pretending to be his new assistant and while she may act shy and reserved, she can totally kick butt any day of the week. It’s supposed to be business only and he’s everything she doesn’t want. He’s been betrayed over and over again and now Julia is lying to him, too.
This rockin’ romantic suspense keeps readers dancing with all the remarkable chemistry and volcanic sparks flying everywhere right alongside the thrills and excitement of the danger facing Bran and Julia. These two characters are strong, bold and just steal the hearts of readers right out from under them as their relationship progresses despite how much neither of them wants it, which keeps heated, feisty and very entertaining, but the story also has lots of emotions flowing from the pages as well which ensures that readers really understand what motivates Bran and Julia, making them more real and full of depth.
The plot is fast paced and packed full of non-stop excitement, not only from the relationship but also from the danger stalking Bran. The thrilling suspense and expectation of this story continuously builds to epic proportions, keeping readers glued to the pages with stunning twists that throws everything the characters thought they knew right out the door. This plot is on the complicated side and shows just how the past can come back to bite people in the behind in this entrancing and stunning romance.
This is my favourite one of this series so far! I loved Julia and Bran! They were fantastic together. Sexy, hot, funny, they were great. Their chemistry was off the charts hot, and I loved how capable and strong Julia was. She very much played the bodyguard role, but that doesn't mean Bran wasn't an alpha male. While I sort of guessed who the "bad guy" was early on, that didn't lessen my enjoyment of this story. Exciting, fun, nail-biting - I wholeheartedly recommend to fans of Eden, fans of this series, and fans of romantic suspense. Can't wait for the next one!
Julia licked her lips. “I’m sorry.” She hated his pain. She also hated that…I’m lying to him, too. But her lies were different, weren’t they? Because she was protecting him? Except her lies didn’t feel different, and the knot in her stomach was suddenly very, very big.
I could love her. The thought blasted through his mind as he lifted up to stare at her, and for a moment, he couldn’t move. He’d just met her. He didn’t love her. He wanted her like crazy, wanted her more than he could remember hungering for anyone else, but love?
This is the Cynthia Eden I love to read! A passionate, protective hero. An independent but a bit vulnerable heroine. This is the 4th book in her Wilde Ways series and my fave. I was hooked from the moment Bran opened the door and saw Julia on his doorstep and just couldn't stop thinking about her.
One of the things I really loved about this book is that even though Julia is there to protect Bran (which he is unaware of this fact for a bit) is how protective he is over Julia. Swoon!
Definitely recommend this one!
Note: Bran was involved with Gwen from Guarding Gwen and we learn just a bit more about that actual relationship. It wasn't as bad as it was portrayed in her book. Also, other than that bit, there is no other mention of Gwen. She isn't seen in this book. FYI.
Quotes & Faves:
♥ He had a cute little cleft in his chin. One that she would not ever think about licking. Whoops, wait. Just did.
♥ She seemed to miss the fact that there was glass all over the ground. Bran grabbed her and scooped Julia into his arms. She let out a surprised gasp as her arm wound around his neck. “What are you doing?” Julia asked.
Other than enjoying having her soft body in his arms…? “Protecting you.”
Her eyes widened.
“From the broken glass,” he added, getting a little lost in her eyes. “Didn’t want you to get cut.”
“That’s…very sweet of you.”
Sweet? Sweet? He was Bran Copper. He was rock. He was rage. He was the man who got any freaking thing he wanted. He wasn’t sweet. Not by a long shot.
So why was he still cradling her and looking into her eyes like some lovesick jackass?
♥ “We need to make something clear between us.” His arms fell to his sides as he strode toward her. She stiffened but didn’t back away. “Under no fucking circumstances…”
Oh, okay, now he was right in front of her.
She tipped back her head so that she could stare into his truly blazing, golden eyes. “Don’t you ever put yourself between me and danger. Not ever, got it?”
She didn’t have it. Julia was also not about to make a promise that she had zero intention of keeping. “It was reflex.”
♥ “You can’t be hurt,” he whispered. His finger slid around her left wrist and…
♥ See? Protective. And I love when he calls her 'baby'.
♥ “I mean nothing matters more than you.” His face was dead serious. “I mean I would give up my music, I would give up the tours, I would give up the money and houses, I would give up everything else in my life if it meant I could have you with me.”
♥ “But I swear, Julia, I can be the man you want. I can treat you like a queen for the rest of your life. I will be faithful to you. I will put you first. I will love you until the day that I take my last breath.”
♥ A spotlight hit Bran as he stood in the middle of the stage. His head turned, and he was suddenly staring straight at Julia. He covered the microphone with one hand, and as he looked at her, he mouthed…
I love you, baby.
Bran began to sing. “I knew from the start…when I opened that door. I knew from the start…That woman already owned my heart.”
The Heart You Break by Cynthia Eden is book 4 in the Wilde Ways Series. This is the story of Julia Slate and Bran Copper. I have read the previous books (and Loved Them), but feel you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Julia goes undercover to be a body guard for Bran. Julia was hired by his manger because Bran refuses to have one but he has a stalker that has escalated their game. Julia is pretending to work as his assistance laying low but neither counted on the sparks that start to fly.
Another great entry in the Wilde series. I liked the fact that in this story, the female is the bodyguard. Bran was still way OTT alpha and his need to protect Julia was awesome. Lots of twists and turns and am anxiously waiting for Rick’s story!
I wasn’t planning on reading this book today, but when I read the beginning couple of pages, I just…kept reading. I couldn’t help myself! This series is really doing it for me!
I’m not one for rockstar romances, but Cynthia Eden made me love hers. Bran Copper is your stereotypical moody, party boy, womanizing rocker. Isn’t he? When Julia is asked to go undercover as his PR assistant, she tells her boss no. But her boss Eric Wilde of Wilde Security knows she’ll be the best for this job, so he won’t let her turn him down.
Bran is hiding in his mountain cabin to write his next album. But he has a stalker who isn’t going to let him get away. The threatening letters have escalated to breaking and entering. Bran won’t let his manager hire a bodyguard, so when Julia shows up on his doorstep claiming she’s his new assistant, he’s not exactly thrilled.
Julia is good at her job. She looks tiny and delicate, but she can knock a man on his back in no time. Being Bran’s bodyguard isn’t easy, though, since he can’t know that’s what she is. She doesn’t like lying to him, and the closer they get, the more she hates the lies between them. But she doesn’t have a choice. And if he found out she’d lied? He’d kick her out. She’ll have to keep lying to keep him safe.
In typical Cynthia Eden fashion, this book is suspenseful and sexy. Her plots are well thought out, and she never takes the predictable route. With excitement and danger waiting on each page, I couldn’t flip pages fast enough!
So far I'm going with the three stars ... but maaaybe I'll move it to 4? Like ... I dunno. It's one of my favorite Wilde books I think? Although there was ...
I think the ending was kinda [too pat]? And awww this was Cole so early in his Wilde career and <3
I figured out the baddie pretty early on [omg I'm clearly too suspicious 😅] however - HOWEVER - I definitely didn't know all of it nor know how things would play out. [And I will say for a second I wondered about one player but only in passing.]
Julia and Bran are just so perfect for each other and they're so intense and protect-y and <3
And I liked that Bran understood Julia was trying to protect him. Also growly rock star FTW.
I do think Bran's "be bait" plan was TERRIBLE. Like seriously TERRIBLE but I can understand it.
I'm definitely going to be re-reading this book and wish there were more cameos of Julia and Bran in the other Wilde books.
Like 2.5 stars on this book. There was a good mix of romance and action, which I enjoy. I like when the story is well balanced with the romance. The romance was ok too.
But honestly, the spicy scenes were kinda “meh.” I’m usually not opposed to insta-love but it just didn’t read as believable in this book.
Also the female bodyguard thing just isn’t my cup of tea. The reason like like bodyguard/charge stories is because of the overwhelming need and fear of protecting the person they’re starting to care for. But when it’s a female bodyguard, the guy always ALSO has the “I need to protect her” vibe and it kinda ruins the whole thing for me.
This particular one wasn’t for me, but I’ve read, and will continue to read, others by this author.
This one was more the Cynthia Eden's book i'm used to, yay !!! The heroine was strong and interesting with a compelling backstory. The guy was as usual though, nothing special about him honestly. The story was interesting and while the suspens was mild i got into it. But it was a bit of a mess and unbelievable when i think of it ^^
This was a very nice read. Easy and uncomplicated and very well written.
I like our heroine Julia and her hero Bran was just perfect for her. I liked that Julia was honest and open with Bran, there was no push/pull going on here.

I really liked seeing Cole's character in this book because he is awesome and looks out for Julia and his friends.. Its nice to see that Eric give Cole a second chance because you can see how much cole wants to be a part of something good and being around Eric and his new friends he feels wee bit better about himself but he still holds a lot of weight on his shoulders because of his past..
The characters are amazing and the Rock star/Bodyguard Romance was really good in this book.. Julia is amazing character and she has a sad past but i am glad that she got a happy ending with the Rock star Bran.. They are made for each other and its nice to see them happy.. I am also happy that she got a new job tile from her boss Eric because he did not want to lose her and she did not want to stop working for Eric so with her new job means that she can travel with Bran when he is singing and still work with Eric helping him set up teams to go and help people..
I want to clarify I didn't particularly enjoy this book. It had an interesting plot that I was happy to dive into but it ended up being a huge disappointment. The breakneck speed the author took in the relationship between the MCs was it's ultimate downfall for me. There's instalust and instalove nearly from the start. Cynthia tried her best to sell it but I wasn't buying. The connection between the MCs was weak at best and the intensity that was set between the two wasn't believable at all.
17% y'all. Seventeen freaking percent was how long it took for the hero Bran to begin acting possessive and kiss the heroine Julia. Who might I add is undercover as his new assistant and whom he only met the day before...so not even twenty-four hours since their introduction. Good grief. WHY did that happen so quickly? He absolutely has no feelings for this woman other than maybe some interest and attraction. Nothing else. Why would we fast track their expected romance like that? It was way too soon.
This book carried the very annoying tropes of "you're different than the others" and "I hate liars and am always honest so now you can feel guilty and stress over the fact you're lying to me the whole book while we catch feelings for one another" and tbh it was a big bummer for mr. I knew the lying aspect was likely considering the book blurb but dang, we had to throw in the heroine somehow being different from the rest? 😂 *sigh*
I was most disappointed by the heroine. I expected a badass heroine considering she was a bodyguard but I never got that from her. She had a traumatic past as a firefighter and that's about it. She could protect herself and handle her weapons well but honestly that wasn't enough to buy her being a legitimate bodyguard. Especially when she's sexualizing the hero almost from the moment they meet and then sleeps with him after what, two days? Super professional, chicka. I was incredibly bummed by her character.
Anywho, it took me a couple weeks to finish this in between other books and pure boredom.
Another awesome read by a wonderful author! The next read in the Wilde series has our female bodyguard, Julia Slate, a fierce heroine, having to guard Bran Cooper. Bran Cooper is a rock star and has been getting threats and Julia is the only person for the job. Filled with suspense, hot sex, action and our terrific cast from past books makes me just salivate for more. We get more of Rick, I really love that dude! Cole is now part of the team and just like Rick, who's book is next in this series, I pray that Cole gets his true love as well. 4.5 stars for this beautiful couple****
****I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book provided by NetGalley*****
I had this book buried in my TBR and only found it after it appeared in my notifications and I tried to get it - again. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. The main characters are in lust/love in a NY second and I never felt anything between them, nevermind the fact that Julia as a "professional" throws her credibility right out the window by falling in insta love with Bran. This wasn't novella length so the author could have moved a little slower IMO before declaring this couple in love after only a couple of days together. The supporting characters of Cole Winters and Rick Williams were interesting but not sure I want to continue with this series.
Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy of this book. I love Cynthia Eden and her Wilde Securities books. This one was a little different because the past ones were with the Wilde brothers and this one wasn't. I really enjoyed Bran showing a soft side and his love for Julia. Did the book get to be a little far fetched with the relentless attacks against Bran, maybe but I was so enthralled about seeing this couple evolve I didn't care. Great read!
I didn’t like this book. I didn’t believe the heroine as a bodyguard nor did it make sense that the hero not figure out that she was a bodyguard earlier. The instant obsession was annoying. Not suspenseful and the bad guy motives made no sense
Security agent Julia Slate is going undercover. Her assignment? Protect rocker Bran Copper. He's sexy, has a reputation for living life to the extreme, and he's also the target of one very obsessed fan. Julia's job is to keep Bran safe...and the catch? He needs her, he wants her, and what Bran wants…he gets.
As the threats keep mounting, as the stalker closes in, will Bran be able to forgive Julia when he learns the truth? Or will they crash and burn? Because THE HEART YOU BREAK...it could be the one that matters most.
••••••••••••
REVIEW: 4.25 stars--THE HEART YOU BREAK is the fourth instalment in Cynthia Eden’s contemporary, adult WILDE WAYS romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Wilde Securities. This is former fire fighter and security agent Julia Slate, and rock star Bran Copper. THE HEART YOU BREAK can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.
Told from several third person perspectives including Bran and Julia THE HEART YOU BREAK follows Julia Slate as she is assigned protection duty to rock star Bran Copper, a musician whose stalker is getting too close. Bran doesn’t want protection, in fact he is using himself as bait to pull in the person trying to destroy his life but baiting the bad guy affects more than our story line hero. Julia Slate goes undercover as Bran’s assistant, a position that places our heroine up close and personal with rock’s newest bad boy. What ensues is the building relationship between Bran and Julia, and the potential fall-out as everyone working the case at Wilde Securities becomes collateral damage as the stalker is determined to take down our story line hero.
The relationship between Julia and Bran is one of immediate attraction but Bran doesn’t want an assistant; doesn’t want security; and definitely doesn’t want another female groupie destroying his life. Julia Slate struggles to keep her under cover assignment on the down low but falling for Bran Copper finds Julia out of her element, and distracted when she is needed the most. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Julia’s fellow security specialists: Cole Vincent, Rick Williams, Eric Wilde, and town sheriff Gideon Warren.
THE HEART YOU BREAK is a story of betrayal, deception and vengeance; of struggle and acceptance; of love and a happily ever after. The premise is energetic and engaging; the romance is seductive and intense; the characters are colorful, dynamic and strong. I guessed the identity of the stalker early on but the author threw in a secondary possibility in an effort to deflect attention from the requisite evil.
"Don't ever jump between me and a bullet again, understand? That's not your job."
Actually it was.
"The Heart You Break" is the fourth book in Wilde ways series, a romantic suspense series by Cynthia Eden. I love the cover theme for all these books in this series.
First of all, I read anything and everything by Cynthia. She's my go to author. I was so excited when she announced this title and she didn't disappoint. I loved Julia and Bran.
This story sports a rock star Bran Copper, who has stalker. When his life is threatened, his manager sort out the help of Wilde Securities. Eric enlists Julia Slate to take the case, who after a slight persuasion agrees. The catch, Bran shouldn't know the real identify of Julia. Because he doesn't want a bodyguard.
When Julia shows up on a stormy night at Bran secluded cabin, where he stays to write his new songs, Bran is helpless. No matter what others say about him, he couldn't sent her away alone. One night, he says to himself when he lets her in.
However, the attraction is almost immediate. Both are shocked by the intensity of it. Julia's secret is threatened when the stalker strikes again. Only this time, he was hurting the ones close to her.
Bran hates liars. What happens when he learns that the woman he starts to care for isn't what she seems to be? Betrayal once again cuts his heart. But the is closer than they thought and he likes to explode things.
Bran is bad boy with a soft heart. I loved it when he goes all protective and possessive over Julia. There were many 'Aww' moments between these two, especially before he learns her secret. Bran is sexy and handsome...ahem...my new crush. Right. Now, over to Julia. She packs a lot of surprises. We meet her in book one "Protecting Piper." She appears small and delicate, but appearances are deceiving.
Also, Bran is an intelligent character. He has a quick presence of mind and connects dots faster. The initial sexual tension is nice. The cat and mouse chase between the couple and the stalker will keep the readers at the edge. One thing about this author's books is that, readers always know that the villain is a person known to us. But the revelation and the backstory is all what holds surprises.
The climax and a few scenes reminded me of few other books by the same author. Overall, another interesting book from Cynthia. If you're looking for a sexy book with toe-curling romance, which is also a page turner, go for it.
