I came to this small town to avenge an attack on my family, to kill the hunter who ruined my brother. I never expected to find my mate. Now that I've found her, there's no possibility I'll return home without Elaine by my side. But she's a human, blind to the world of vampires and I don't know if I can turn her.
The hunters want one thing. To kill us all. They know I'm here and they'll stop at nothing to finish what they started with my clan. Being my mate puts Elaine at risk, and I have to do everything within my power to keep her safe.
Then I'll claim her. She'll be my mate, my bride, my forever.
Forever Claimed is a novella featured in the Vampire Brides series. All books in the Vampire Brides series are standalone and can be read in any order.
USA Today bestselling author Kim Loraine was raised a Navy brat but spent most of her life growing up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. A proper Washingtonian, she's addicted to coffee, doesn't let a little rain ruin her day, and thinks the sun is a gift from God. When not chasing her three little minions around, Kim spends her time writing, reading, and binge watching Doctor Who.
It has been awhile since I read books about vampires. So here it goes 😊
This is the first book I've read in the Vampire Brides series as you can read it in no particular order.
I like Laney and Mattias, the plot was good, it would've also been nice if there were more background information and world building. I love that both lead characters has their own POV, its always nice to know what both leads were thinking.
Overall I enjoyed reading their story, it was a quick read for me but it was still a good read. Looking forward to Brandt and Claire's story
Forever Claimed by Kim Loraine is a novella in the Vampire Brides collaboration. Wow, so much happens in this story that it doesn’t feel like a novella. Vampires and danger, what’s not to like? I enjoyed Laney and Mattias story. They have a great connection and I enjoyed watching all of the pieces fall into place. I’m excited to see we’ll be getting Brandt’s story in the next collaboration.
I love the idea of this series of standalone books set in the same world while keeping the idea of what a vampire is consistent between all of them. This novel in particular, however, was not for me.
I understand that novellas are quick and short stories but I prefer them after I've read a full novel and have a grasp at who the characters are and what world they're in. This story felt too rushed. There wasn't much to anything if you exclude the mate bond. I wanted to get to know both characters, maybe have them share a full conversation and get to know each other apart from the bond for a period of at least 24 hours total before things progress any farther.
The action in this story was great, but everything got resolved so quickly to an unrealistic degree (even in fiction I have my limits). What could have been a recuse mission goes from kidnapped to wow-he-broke-the-door-down-and-the-other-guy-is-dead in the span of two pages.
I can't really comment on the characters because they didn't seem to have much of a personality other than I've-found-my-mate and your-mine-forevermore.
Maybe the problem with this book was me all along. I was expecting something with more depth and dare-I-say-it lore to the vampires this group of authors created. Everything felt surface deep and, try as I might, to understand I just wanted more than I got.
My Favorite Quotes:
"Even monsters can be heroes."
"Dying doesn't make anything special. Living does."
Forever Claimed is a quick and enjoyable read (or in my case, listen.)
The author doesn't mess about and plunges the reader straight into the romance from chapter one serving up a yummy helping of insta-attraction/love, that comes naturally with fated mates, along with a side dish of danger.
There's some back and forth, and a little bit of "I know best alpha male" nonsense, but for the most part it's just two likeable characters coming together with a very unconventional courtship.
If vampires or fated-mates is your thing then it's definitely worth a listen! The audiobook is dual narration and both narrators do a good job at brining the characters to life.
I just adore Kim Loraine’s brand of paranormal romance. That’s nothing new. She always creates a vivid, colorful and unpredictable world to get lost in and I absolute love that. Intense storyline, incredibly well-written and multifaceted characters. Throw in tons of twists, emotions, loads of angst, violence and danger, plus some seriously combustible steam and chemistry – and voila! If only it weren’t as short as it is. Le sigh. I need MORE!
Kim Loraine knocks this novella out of the park! It’s sexy, dangerous, thrilling, and loving. Mattias is sexy and sweet, dangerous and protective. He loves fiercely and will go to great lengths to protect those he loves. Laney is kind, beautiful and pure. She has a heart of gold and loves those closest to her. When Mattias and Laney meet, figuratively speaking, sparks fly. The connection is instant and strong, like their souls new they were mated to the other. I truly love this book, it had action, danger, sexy times, and a wonderful paranormal plot line to boot.
I don't think Kim can write anything I won't love and devour! Forever Claimed is no exception.
My favorite thing about this book is that Mattias is like the old school Twilight vamps and I loved it!! Can't go outside during the day, sparkles just gives me all the feels! The love story between human Laney and vamp Mattias is sexy and dangerous and oh so good!
Can't wait to see Brandt's story in the next installment!
Kim Loraine offers a quick, sexy read with Forever Claimed. Mattias and Elaine make a perfect couple but there is only one problem, he's a vampire and she is human. Can there actually be instant love for Elaine or just lust as Mattias looks like a Norse God?
Kim Loraine will give you all the answers with her paranormal romance, Forever Claimed: Vampire Brides.
Mattias and Elaine's story was had a great back and forth element to it. I liked how we got both perspectives so we could really know what each one of them was feeling. I liked the fast paced nature of the story, and how easily the characters accept what was right in front of them.
Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author.

A mix between a few of my favorite TV shows and books; Twilight, Vampire Dairies and Supernatural. I’m sure I thought about more similarities in different books and shows but right now I’m at a loss. I really loved the characters and their connections. Mattias and Laney are electric together. You want to believe they will make it in the beginning and towards the end you feel your heart stop. These two can be complicated at times but you truly feel they are meant to be together. A fast and easy read that will keep you entertained. I loved the unexpected twists in the ending.
This novella is is the perfect cuddle up in bed read! It’s dangerous, sexy and sweet. Kim Loraine did a great job with this one. The characters are well developed and easy to connect with. Matthias is sexy and brooding but also sweet and caring. Laney seems like she has it all together but really she is just waiting for that wow factor of her life to start. I enjoyed this story and can’t wait for the other Vampire Brides novellas.
This is such a fun book! I really enjoyed it. It is a shorter story but fast paced. Tragedy, loss and powerful bonds are what connect these two people. They have that undeniable mate bond. But can and will it keep them together or tear them apart?
I listened to this on audio. Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott narrated this delightful story. They made the characters fun and engaging to the point I would love to read more of this series.
I loved the sneak peek into this novel from the previous I read and liked what I saw. This one celt more naturally flowing and didnt stumble a lot. Loved the slow burning anticipation and struggles they went through. A nicely done work considering the amount of Pages this consists of. Now I got hooked on Claire story as well. And the most surprising part was that the tehnical part of becoming a vampire and having a mate. Will do another novel at the least.
I really loved the characters and the chemistry is so SO hot! My only real compliant is the story is short and I didn’t want it to end, but I feel that way about all novellas. I do like that the story is made more believable (even with the short length) by some initial shock and rejection by the main character! Well done and a great HEA!
I really enjoy it. Very romantic and with full of instant love. I like the fact the Kim Loraine makes looks a bit human to Mattias when he's attack by the hunters. Elaine she's fantastic, she loves her cousin Claire. When Mattias compels her to forget him, she still have memories about him. Who's romantic it's that. Thank you Midnight Coven for this romantic series.
I really liked this story. So much happening it's surprising how well it turned out. Don't get me wrong I would have loved to see this a novel instead of just a Novella but the author really made it work. I have read several of the vampire bride novella and this is one of the best ones so far. Definitely going to check out more of this authors books.
So much happens in this story, it's hard to believe it's a novella! I always love me a good vampire tale and this is a darn good one! I couldn't put this down and read it in one sitting. Who wouldn't want to find their soul mate - the one they were meant to be with forever until the end of time? A fantastic story you must read!
I really love a damsel in distress story. Mattias is such the perfect vampire showing control and such strength. I love how this books flows. I'll be reading the next set of books Vampire Mates.
I really enjoyed this book. Loved the main characters and the deep connection they had from day one. The story moved smoothly and kept me turning pages. Can't wait for book 2.
Kim has quickly become one of my favourite PNR authors and this novella was another little fix of her magic. Mattias was sexy as hell in all his protective, bonded male glory and I loved the action with the hunter angle. Hope we get to see more in this little world they created.
Oops I thought I reviewed this a long time ago. I loved reading this story. She brings every story to the next level. Love how the story comes alive on the first page!.

Forever Claimed is a stand alone in The Midnight Coven collection. A very good read for a short time span. I will continue on with the remaining books.
