My college roommate is the worst. Cecile steals my food, brings guys over at all hours, and parties instead of studying. But those quirks pale in comparison to what she does next. She drugs me, and I wake up imprisoned in an alternate universe full of terrifying creatures. Now, the biggest and scariest creature of all—a fae king—believes I'm his mate. He's freed me from the dungeon but keeps me close. So close, in fact, that I'm beginning to like his wintery gaze and ice-chiseled body. But secrets and villains lurk throughout this new world, and I don't know if I'll survive long enough to figure out how to get back home.Lily's This beautiful hardback edition includes the first four books in the Fae's Captive Fae's Captive, Road to Winter, Bite of Winter, and Beyond the Mountain, which completes Taylor and Leander's story.

⭐️Brief Summery: -Taylor is a college student she is very studies focused. One days her annoying roommate asks her to be her designated driver while she parties. She drugs her and Taylor wakes up in the Fae realm.
-And that’s were our story begins. Taylor wakes up to a new reality in the Fae world at first she thinks she is dreaming until she’s faces with her cruel new “owner” and High Fae in the Summer realm. In the Fae world humans are slaves to High Fae. Lower Fae are also treated badly so there’s a lot of class issues and prejudices.
-Leander is the King of the winter realm and where he has outlawed slaves and differences in class. He’s visiting the Summer realm where he is there in realm business when he spots Taylor and instantly knows she his fated mate.
-Now fated mates have not happened for over 150yrs cause of a curse sap finding her is so rare and precious that he goes into protective mode immediately💕.
-This story is super action packed the story constantly moving. There’s tons of sweetness mixed in and a coming of age for Taylor.
🌟 Overall Opinion:
-What I love about this author is her ability to pull you into and other world. With lots of adventure. So this is really just a fun and dangerous adventure through the Fae world. We get to watch Leander find his mate and do ANYTHING to protect her and Taylor is on a journey of self discovery. Lots of secrets are uncovered. Different characters help or hurt our couples journey. And the best part we have ❤️ LOVE that develops and grows between them.
-❤️🔥Leander knows Taylor is his mate right from the start. He’s so swoon worthy. He’s OTT protective. At first they can’t communicate cause they speak different languages. Others translate until they can understand each other. But the way he is with her💕 he is so gentle. The way he communicates with her is so sweet and patient. He has waited for his mate his entire life and considers her a special gift and treasure❤️🔥He feeds her by hand and basically worships her.
-Taylor on the other hand is confused and scared. She trusts Leander cause of how gentle he is but she has no desire to stay in the Fae world he goal is to get home. So her acceptance of the mate bind takes her a lot longer. She feels the attraction but downs plan to stay so she keeps her distance. 😤 I was getting annoyed with her reluctance but I also understood. 😜I can tell you if I had woken up in this Amazing world of magic with a HOT as hell warrior King tearing me like a Goddess, I wouldn’t want to back to my drab life of schooling and bills 🙄 with no life and friends. But hey🤷🏼♀️ that’s just me.
-😅I mean you have a hot man hand feeding you and cuddling you and protecting you and you want to go back to your lonely life of ramen noodle soup and hot pockets?! -🤯She had a one track mind and I was getting frustrated with her by the time I was 30% into this she still wouldn’t open her mind a bit. She even made a good friend in Beth. So after a while she was frustrating me.
-But toward the end Taylor grows a lot and I liked her dark side and I really like her once she chose who she was gonna be. And let me tell you…. She ends up pretty badass💪🏻 her true heritage and destiny is revealed and I loved her then.
-I loved the twists and turns dealing with Taylor’s heritage and destiny. I liked how the story played out and I loved Leander’s OTT sweetness.
-What I Did Not Like……
😳At times I felt that this was Gareth and Beth’s story. A lot of time was spent on them and it frustrated me cause they have their own series. I have to say I would have liked them to be a bit more background.
-The ending was a bit rushed I wish we had more time with Leander and Taylor as they settled into their new lives together. I ended pretty quick with a fast wrap up and was leading into Beth and Gareth story.
-If I was reading these as separate books-which was how it was released - and 3 books in with still no mating?! Yeah I wouldn’t have continued. Mating finally happens at 65% and then the sexy times 🔥🔥🔥. I did feel the mating took forever to happen but I was happy the results.
🦹🏻♂️ Hero: Leander the Winter realm king 1200 yrs old. Leander is OTT JP Obsessed mate is all About taking care of his mate and protecting her.
🦸♀️ Heroin: Taylor a changing human 20 yrs old. Taylor is overwhelmed with the new world and a hot warrior claiming her as his mate. She has a secret heritage that she doesn’t know about yet and it will change everything .
💭 POV: Multiple first person
🔥 Burn Rate: Slow their mating was pushed a bit to long for my taste it’s always a lot of teasing till then.
😡/😍 Emotion Level: This is an exciting sweet story but not a huge amount of depth
❤️🔥 Sexy Times: When they finally did happen it was hot 🔥
💥 Descriptive sex: Yes was definitely descriptive done just right not to long but not short either
🌓 Push/Pull: Some push from Taylor while she is excepting her true destiny
☠️ OW/OM Drama: NONE
🤮 OW/OM Sex/Fluids exchange/DNA: NONE
🤬 Cheating: NONE
👰🏼♀️ Virgin: Virgin h H is NOT a MANHORE
😑 Separation: Mild one where she is kidnapped for about half of book.
Safety⚠️Triggers🗡️: None really Some Violence Some talk of abuse and SA abuse
💕 Epilogue: Yes but it’s not really it’s more of a lead into the next series
❤️ HEA: Yes but also HFN since they still have some enemies to defeat in the next series
🤔 Closing Summery:
-I liked the ending we get a good wrap up but still enough time to have some mate loving after the final battle. And we got to see how they settled after. I’m glad we got to finally see Taylor in the winter realm and take her on lace as Queen.
-The very final chapter led us to a foreboding about war, a bad guy that didn’t die and the part Taylor might play in the war. But since the next story is Beth’s and Gareths I guess we have to read their stories to see how it ends. But you still could not read any further and I felt Leander and Taylor’s story was fine we’re it ended.
I love to read fae books where the heroes are powerful and possessive, but marshmallows for their heroines *and* the bulk of the action of the story takes place in the fae world. Fae's Captive hit these notes nicely. Taylor (h) is drugged by her roommate and sent to the fae world as a changeling. Leander (H) is the winter king who stumbles across Taylor while in the summer realm for political discussions. Then he loses his cool majorly because she's his mate and the winter fae haven't found mates in a looooong time. There were significant challenges stacked against these two though - Taylor's blindsided by the fae world and wants to go home, a supposed king across the mountains is trying to kill Leander, fae are going missing, and not all is at it seems. Written in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama and h is a virgin, but I don't think it ever said one way or the other about the H but I assume not. He's very j/p over her though, even with his closest friends just trying to protect her.
I don't want to spoil anything and this was quite the adventure where Taylor, Leander, and the friends they travel with don't always have clear allies or enemies. There's also a prophecy at play (isn't that always a conundrum). At first, Taylor has to deal with a language barrier between herself and Leander, but it's resolved fairly quickly and side characters offer interpretations. Some of his feelings don't really need interpretation though if you know what I mean. I really enjoyed the action elements of these books and the pacing of the plot kept the story skipping along nicely. Much to Leander's dismay, also the dismay of Taylor's friend Beth, Taylor doesn't immediately consummate the mate bond. Poor Leander loses his head a couple times and tries to get her to lose hers along with him, but she holds out for quite a while. Plenty of tension built up though and a palpable chemistry. Once the steamy times started though, there were several full scenes before the end.
Supporting characters were very important throughout these books, which I liked, including supportive female relationships. Taylor makes a changeling friend when she first arrives, Beth, who joins them. Leander has a group of dedicated fae that pop in and out, but his best friend, Gareth, is almost always present. There's a tension between Beth and Gareth too. I really liked a character that started as an enemy and was won over by Taylor, also another character who was very wise. The main villain of the books is very, appropriately, evil and has some of his own support too.
Plot-wise, I figured out one twist, but was surprised a couple of times by others. Taylor has significant growth from where she starts as an overwhelmed woman thrust into a crazy world to being queen of the winter realm. She discovers new sides to herself and I loved that the mate bond between her and Leander was a source of strength and grounding during some esp difficult moments. A couple of lingering questions and possible inconsistencies nagged at my brain a bit, but this series is ongoing so some of those could be ironed out in later books.
I was a bit disappointed in the ending honestly. Leander and Taylor are together, in love, and moving forward with their HEA in the winter realm, but the series continues with other characters so hints of future danger are included and questions about what role Taylor herself may play in that. I'm sure these two play large supporting roles in Beth and Gareth's set of books, but I'm a sucker for extended epilogues esp when the main characters have run all over the place until just before the end. Still, I love this author's writing style (her reverse harem omegaverse is a re-read for me) and I find her books addictively easy to lose myself in so I'm still overall satisfied with this boxset.
3rd read August 2025: waiting for the mating was frustrating, but the journey so delicious!
Re-read October 2024: magic, intrigue, betrayal, romance and an obsessed, possessive alpha male! Loved everything about this! ♥️
Original review: OMG, I devoured this one! It was really the best of both worlds! Some lovely instalove and the most delicious slow burn all in one neat package. Leander recognizes Taylor as his mate instantly and is all in from the start. Super protective, possessive as heck, an SO caring. Ugh, I love me some sweet badass alpha men. Taylor, however, doesn’t recognize Leander as her mate right away and makes him work for it. It takes a good long while before the actual mating, and the build up was just scrumptious. I love it when the H falls first and has to pursue and chase the h. Apart from the romance, this book was just so thrilling! Great world building and the story sucked me in and made me ignore my family and life in general. So much action, thrills, twists and turns, mystery, betrayal and violence. I loved the side characters, Selene is my spirit animal. She made me laugh out loud a few times with her psycho ways. Especially in the fourth part of the book. Leander is top notch book boyfriend material and I will be re-reading this one over and over. Loved it!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was originally a four part novella series, but I read the novel where the four have been combined into one.
Safety: No OM/OW drama No cheating Fated mates Kidnapping Mention of SA and physical abuse.
✨Taylor the Winter realm king 1200 yrs old ⚡️Leander a changing human 20 yrs old
🌟Taylor is a college student she is very studies focused. One days her annoying roommate asks her to be her designated driver while she parties. She drugs her and Taylor wakes up in the Fae realm as a servant. And so our adventure begins.
💫There is a curse the Winter realms high Fae. The haven’t felt a mate bond in over 150 yrs due to a necromancer curse. So what happened when the winter realm Fae King feels the mate bond with Taylor? Well he must go all alpha claiming protective over her of course.
❤️Leander is OTT JP Obsessed mate is all About taking care of his mate and protecting her.
🥺Taylor is overwhelmed with the new world and a hot warrior claiming her as his mate. She has a secret heritage that she doesn’t know about yet and it will change everything .
☀️We have Summer Fae ❄️Winter Fae They were at war for centuries and now have tentative peace. But war might be brewing again and Leander is trying to stop it.
💕What I love about this author is her ability to pull you into and other world. With lots of adventure. So this is really just a fun and dangerous adventure through the Fae world. But hey🤷🏼♀️ that’s just me. Plus she is in a world now that excites her and one she is so curious about so I expected her to be more reluctant to leave there. Also she keeps getting hints that she different and that she belongs there. I wish she had been more aggressive about finding more stuff out or questioning it more.
😳🤨I mean you have a hot man hand feeding you and cuddling you and protecting you and you want to go back to your lonely life of ramen noodle soup and hot pockets?! 🤯She had a one track mind and I was getting frustrated with her by the time I was 30% into this she still wouldn’t open her mind a bit. This book was Amazing. I got this book in my Dangers Romance Club book box and as soon as I pulled it out of my box I knew I had to read it. I loved this book and since I read it as a whole I am going to review the whole thing instead of each individual book since they all flow together. The cover immediately caught my attention and once I knew it was a Fae romance I knew I had to read it. It was calling out to me and I am so happy I read it. It was exactly what I needed. It is such a fun read. It hooks you on that first page and it will have you never wanting to stop reading. I swear this story is captivating. It gives off some “A Court of Thorns and Roses” series vibes while also being SO different. It is enchanting. It had so many twist I never saw coming and the romance was the best slow burn. The leading up to their mating was an euphoric feeling. This is an epic fantasy tale with twist and turns that will having you turning the pages faster and faster. I enjoyed this book so much! Taylor and Leander are so unique and captivating. I can not get enough of them. Every page was a new adventure. The way Lily would end each book had me screaming. This was EPIC. The ending was absolutely amazing and I can not wait to read the next set of books in this series. I can not express enough how happy this book has made me and how entranced and in love I am with Taylor, Leander and their story. I need you all to pick up this book.
Fairly straightforward fantasy romance. The big bad conflict over quicker than is ideal. Plot conflict and resolution lack balance. Quick resolution should be for a lesser drama. Lots of little Harry Potter magic references that felt like taking the easy way out.
This started out pretty much like any Fae kind of romance story. Then towards the end it takes a totally different turn of events that I wasn't expecting. I'm glad I read the stories as in the collection verses reading each one separately. If I had read them separately I probably wouldn't have finished the story. I kind of want to finish the rest of the saga but only if the rest of it comes in a collection because they would all end in cliff hanger.
It didn’t take me very long to get through all four books of this series. In fact I forgot that I had even read it at all until I saw an ad for them on Facebook, hence the three stars?. The first book was barely 86 pages, according to my ereader. The second book was a little longer and then the last two actually had a little over a hundred pages. It took me about hmm..3 hours? To get through them? I mean it was written well and it was a decent read. But I felt like it was rushed and to short, like more could have been added but maybe it’s because I read it to fast (shrug).
The love story is like a lot of the fae books I’ve read, girl comes into a new world, guy feels mating bond, girl isn’t sure what to feel and romance blossoms. While the story line is predictable the banter and spice keeps it fun and I enjoyed the read.
This series was recommended to me and it was a nice read 👌 The books did seem a little shorter for a 4 book series. It had a good storyline 👏 just when I was wondering where it was going to go the series changed course nice twist. I loved Selene she was a crack up. Definitely recommend reading 📚
This book deserves ALL the stars! Everything about this book was amazing. If you want a book where an alpha fae warrior is mated to a pop culture referencing book nerd, this is for you! ⚡
Wow! Everything Taylor has gone through, man! And honestly if she hadn’t had the amazing Leander, Beth, Gareth and even the Hindi High Priestess Delantis, she wouldn’t have made it through all her trials in Fae land lol. But Omg freakin Celeste gets on my last nerve🙄😡I really think it’s kinda fucked up that she NEVER APOLOGIZED TO TAYLOR for treating her so awfully the entire time she knew her, and lied to her, kept extremely important information from her. I mean she was such a freakin bitch to Taylor even though she’s actually her sister?!🤔😐with a sister like that, who needs enemies, and what’s the deal with Taylor’s doppelgänger? Why is she even a thing? Confusing😅😵💫anyways I hate how the Fae assholes doubted her and expected her to be evil like her disgusting sperm donor psycho father, guess what? She’s not him is she? Nope. Even though that weirdo summer queen had “dreams about her destroying things” 🙄maybe she needs to take a trip to the mortal realm and get a therapist for her mental issues? Idk 🤷🏻♀️ And what’s the deal with Selene the obsidian witch getting all buddy buddy with Taylor? She was one weirdo creepy ass witch😈🧙♀️😆 Thank goodness precious Leander and his friends no better that Taylor is a gem 💎 and would never purposefully hurts others unless they harmed her loved ones. Yeah she allowed her feral persona to rule her a bit but once she realized how much she loved Leander and needed him in her life, his tremendous love set her heart free and both her personas blended together for the perfect combination of the perfect Taylor. His true love 💘💞set her free and I just love that!❤️Even though the last 90% pissed me off so much, everything evened out nicely.
This is one of my favorite sets of romance novels. From the brutish winter Fae king to the girl who is more than she seems. Everything is so easy to love in these novels especially the references from the time. Mean girls, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and saying TMI. I love to reread this series just to encounter those references again not to mention how likable these characters are. This series is always worth a read especially for Romance lovers.
Fae’s Captive Books 1-4 by Lily Archer: 5 stars This series has kept me entertained through out the first 4 books. The storyline build is gradual and the love all encompassing, with loyal friends and lots of crazy. The ending to book 4 indicates more crazy to come as the series continues. —PTators
Really good read! Started off a bit slow, but got really good towards the fourth book. I’m really into the series now! This was a first for me by this author and I am super impressed! I will definitely be reading more.
Poor Taylor has had a hard life only to have her shitty roommate make it worse by tossing her in the fea realm. Once there, she's just a human slave. Luckily Leander crosses her path and the long cursed mating instinct hit him but getting Taylor isn't easy.
I loved this book. Too simple of a review? Let me elaborate. This book has all the action and adventure of Lord of the Rings with all the romance of ACOTAR. I couldn’t put it down. Archer doesn’t give anything away, but keeps you guessing till the last moment. I can’t wait to read more.
This was a great adventure story. Hot Fae, romance, adventure saga. What's not to love! Great series if you just want to escape into another fanatasy. I'm happy that I purchased the boxes series to get the whole story due to each individual book ending in cliff hangers. Can't wait to read the next set in the series.
We fly together, or we die together. I'm never leaving you again.
I had a fun experience reading the first four books of this series. If you're looking to read something akin to A Court of Mist and Fury, this might be for you. I wanted to review these as a whole, rather than review each "book" separately because they are serialized and short; I wanted to give my full thoughts on the first four books, which follow Leander and Taylor's romance. I am not planning to read the second quartet (which follows two other characters' relationship) immediately, but it's on my tbr and I hope to get to it at some point.
This series follows Taylor, a college student from our world who is drugged by her roommate and wakes up in the fae world, and Leander, a centuries old king of the Winter Court whose realm has been cursed since his reign began. Taylor is assumed to be a changeling--though one much older than usually brought to Arin, the fae realm--and as such is enslaved by a courtier of Summer. When Leander, at the Summer Court to negotiate an alliance against the mysterious King Beyond the Mountain, sees her for the first time, he realizes she is his mate and vows to protect her and bring her home with him, even if it kills him.
Taylor was a flimsy character at times, as her personality shifted in unrealistic ways and she seemed too invested in the lives of people she just met (though, perhaps that says something about me). She studied the sciences in the human world, which is mentioned when necessary for her to put this knowledge to use, but otherwise is looked past in her characterization.
Leander was a somewhat ridiculous love interest and perspective, but I enjoyed it. He was over-protective and a little dumb at times, and so so in love with Taylor from their first interaction. This romance is definitely insta-love due to the existence of mates, however I thought it was handled very well. Their mating bond (aka the penetrative sex) doesn't happen until the third book, and Leander is very focused on consent and respecting Taylor's boundaries (though his "feral" tries to do otherwise); he wants her to be ready before they have sex, and it was very refreshing to see that in a romance hero (though this was part of my deep dive into romance this week, so I don't have a lot to base it off of).
The first three books follow the same format: they are journeying across the realm, constantly getting attacked and forming new alliances. Each book ends on a cliffhanger, but thankfully this series is available through Kindle Unlimited, so I was able to read them one after the other. The books are all fast reads, and enjoyable despite their somewhat formulaic nature. The last book is chaotic, and I was a little frustrated that more of those plotlines were not begun in the earlier books; readers were told of the prophecy and it was implied that Taylor was different than she seemed, but it was very strange for the book to be so different than the others in the series.
Overall, this was a fast and enjoyable series to read this week--especially when I needed distracting from everything else that was happening in the world.
This is more of a series of novellas published as one novel. I think it should have been one, maaaaybe two book, anyway as they are not long. I originally read the first one alone, saw how short it was, and switched to the multi-book version.
Fast writing that jumps right into the action, a couple mysteries to solve. I enjoyed seeing Leander and Taylor together and how he thought about and respected her wishes even with the mating bond. I have read a few books recently where the authors let characters use the mating bond as an excuse to be terrible people and I am glad to be back on the right track. I am looking forward to Gareth and Beth's story next too, as well as whoever else finds their mates now that Taylor lifted the curse. I think there was at least one hint besides Gareth but we'll see! War is on the horizon and hopefully those we are attached to survive.
Spoilers
Taylor is a college student studying engineering, her roommate drugs her and sends her to Arin (faerie world) so someone else can take her place as a changeling. The people in Arin believe she’s a changeling who belongs to a summer fae noble. Leander is the winter court king who is visiting the summer court to work with the queen on a rash of lesser fae disappearances. He also has assassins after him from “the king beyond the mountain”. On sight, Leander knows Taylor is his mate and ends up killing the noble claiming to own her. Gareth frees Beth (another changeling) from the dungeon at Taylors request and they flee. They are then attacked in the woods by an Obsidian witch (death bringer, eats rotten meat) who inserts the fae language in Taylor's head, she is unable to touch Taylor’s necklace, and says Taylor’s arrival was foretold in prophecy. The witch was sent by the king beyond the mountain - she is supposed to be very powerful and is pissed the supposed king was able to summon her and compel her to hunt down and kill Leander.
Taylor isn't human, but no one quite knows what she is. The oldest Vundi Delantis has guesses, and so does Leander, but right after Taylor helps the Vundi figure out how to fix their crops and Leander signs a treaty with them they are betrayed by followers of the king beyond the mountain who kills Delantis. There's a prophecy that may or may not be about her, the summer queen supposedly sends a message to her soldiers to take Taylor back, and the Vundi Para breaks her oath to protect Taylor which leads to her death. Para stabs Gareth and lets Cenet take Taylor to the king beyond the mountain. When Taylor wakes up, her old roommate Cecile is also captive there along with the girl with Taylor's face. Turns out she is the human 'Taylor' who is close with Cecile and Cecile traded the two hoping no one would notice. Taylor finds out Shathinor (the old winter king Leander killed) was a necromancer who put himself back together. He had an affair with Tyrios' mate Callandra and she hid Taylor in the human world. She told Cecile to find her after 20 years but didn't tell her they were siblings so she traded Taylor for the human version she loved. Cenet is her half sibling as well - Shathinor was a busy guy.
Taylor comes to her senses, her bond with Leander helps break the wall between her feral and non-feral sides so they can join, then Taylor kills herself to stop Shathinor from controlling her and taking over her body. She discovers she has the gift of life from her mother and follows her bond with Leander to return to the living. They return to the winter realm, the summer queen apologizes but knows she still needs to make amends, and Leander and Taylor have their mating ceremony.
Book/series ends with Cenet rising from the crumbled mountain and drinking the potion in the necklace from Shathinor - I'm sure meaning Cenet dies and Shathinor is reborn in his body.
I. Love. The. Fae. Next to shifters of course, but one of the Winter Realm's top solders can shift into anything. Soooooooo... this book has everything I look for in a book. Great world building, 3 dimensional characters and fae shifters. Lol!! . In this omnibus we have the first four books in the Fae's Captive Series. They are based on the journey of Taylor & Leander. Taylor is your typical loner college student. Super nerdy and loves Harry Potter. Her roommate Cecile kidnaps her and takes her into another realm. The Fae Realm of the Summer Queen. In comes the hardenes warrior King from the Winter Realm, Leandor! Don da daaaaaaaa... . Lily Archer has some fantastic world building. I especially like the Vundi tribe and if you read the series I know you would love them too. Her writing is wicked and creative. She shares a spot on my shelf reserved for my favorite books. Now this isn't for young ones. It gets pretty hot and steamy AND oh so horrid (in a climactic way of course, think cruel faes) so if your looking for a bedtime story this is NOT the book for you. . 5 stars and a tip of my Nerd Girl Hat!! . *This review was done in conjunction with 𝕹𝖊𝖗𝖉 𝕲𝖎𝖗𝖑 𝕺𝖋𝖋𝖎𝖈𝖎𝖆𝖑 book blog.
I think the worldbuilding was done very well but sometimes I almost felt like the world-building overshadowed the main characters. Even so, you did get a really good idea and a picture of the world and how it operates. The plot did have a few twists that I didn't see coming so that was fun.
Taylor is young and you definitely get that vibe from her throughout the book. She was a little all over the place for me and even though in the end some of the personality changes were explained it still felt a little too drastic at times. Leander was your typical alpha hero who was instantly protective and loved his mate as soon as he saw her which I admit can be a guilty pleasure of mine every now and then so it did not bother me. The side characters were actually my favorite part. I thought Beth was fun and had a lot of depth to her.
Overall, I would say this is a fast-paced romance adventure type of reading with a few twists and turns. I had a good time but I do wish I liked Taylor and Leander more but maybe that's a personal preference thing.
I live and breath for anything fae but was greatly disappointed with these books. All i can say is that the story was extremely repetitive, distasteful, and lacked depth. They were so predictable. I feel the relationship between the leads was an unpleasant representation of an opportunity wasted to create a healthier more believable love story. Did not enjoy the primordial mindset and couldn't get on board with the attempt to justify it with a magical mate bond as well as push out so much smut and call it love. The characters and their personalities were enjoyable, their roles and development understandable but Leander severely lacked for me. The author has talent for sure but may want to consider a different theme whereas this one fell short. There was more focus on their genitalia than the detail in building up this alternative realm. The first couple books dragging on with travel and annoying angst.
I usually don't rate "bind-ups" of novels but considering I read all 4 books in one day, I'm already way ahead of my goal, and I feel like this should've been published as 1 book (maybe 2 if the author actually wanted to implement world building because boy that was lacking) I think just reviewing this is fine. Overall this was just very underwhelming.
