My life changed in an instant, altered by fire, irreparably damaged. Just like me. I’m a broken, damaged soul on the run from a very real sort of darkness.
My father, a notorious mob boss, either wants me back or wants me dead. I find solace in the arms of his enemies. Five deliciously dark men that tempt me to do things I shouldn’t.
Arsen, Colt, Weston, Mace, and Hawke. They’re just as dangerous as the men they’re hunting. So, will they save me, or burn me to ashes?
Either way, in their arms, I catch fire. I burn. And I love every second of it.
**NOTE: This book was originally published as Five Fathers by Kate Morgan. It has undergone a rewrite but the core story remains the same.**
Kate Morgan is a sassy girl from the coast who likes sun, surf, and reverse harem romance with a naughty twist. If you like a little steam, a little taboo, but always a happy ending with your RH reads, you've found the right woman to get you there.
Kate's books are hot, sassy, and sexy. Plus, this isn't her first rodeo, so you're in good hands. ;) This is a pen name for another popular RH author, but can you guess who?
*****SPOILERS***** There is so many reasons this book bugs the crap out of me to the point I couldn't finish it. To many to truly list but let me put down the main ones.
1. The MCs lover was shot while having sex with her by her father and then she was forced to watch as they burned his body.. And you're telling me she doesn't have ptsd, panic attacks literally ANY other emotion besides a deep burnng desire the next time she has sex (which by the way was within 24 hrs since the horrid drama happened) or a heavy fear of guns and fire now?!?!
2. Screw the asshole love interests. Non of the men seemed desirable to me. The only one that seemed interesting was the crazy one and even then not enough. And absolutely no personal growth happened with the guys (or MC either as long as I've brought it up) I get that it's supposed to be a dark/bully novel. But I've read way better ones than this that had guys with way more personality and growth.
3. The MC is a whiny, needy b*tch that can't think past her hormones. Literally. She even thinks that of herself. "I've never been any good at denying myself something I want" ummmmm what?? she is un-relatable and annoying.
4. This book is basically just one long taboo sex scene with priests and a nuns outfit in a church. If you're into that kinda thing then this would be a good book to have on hand when you need to flick the bean. Not for anything else because the plot line is so far in the background all you can see is an outline of a person waving at you.
5. Calling someone Father or Sister during sex really just does not do it for me...
6. DID I MENTION The MCs lover was shot while having sex and you're telling me she doesn't have PTSD or a heavy fear of guns and fire?!?! AND PROCEEDS TO HAVE SEX NOT EVEN 24 HOURS LATER?!?!! Ajdbgkapdfwi!!!!!!!!!!
And I'll just stop there. Hope I've saved at least 1 person whose similar to me from wasting their time with this book. Or if this all seems like something you wouldn't be bothered by then maybe this book is your cup of tea and that's ok too. It's just not everybody's.
Altered by fire was a super quick RH book. Even though I flew through it, not a lot happened. Well other than her sleeping with the guys..which happened rather quickly. You’d think she would be still sad after seeing her sort of boyfriend/but really a constant hookup being murdered but nope. She was ready for more dick. You go girl.
The whole mob part of this book was weird. I honestly have no idea what actually happened in this other than all the smut that happened. Still confused as to why their previous hookup died and why they just needed to kill Natalia’s dad. I get that he’s in the mob, like the mob boss but he didn’t really care about his daughter. Especially with the ending we know how much he doesn’t.
Speaking of that awful cliffhanger, ugh I hated it. I guess I’m intrigued enough to dive into it but I’m hoping that something will actually happen in it. I love smut just like the next person but give me a damn story!
Natalia ran. After witnessing a terrible trauma Natalia finally ran from her mob-boss father. Desperate, high on cocaine, she ran into a church begging to become a nun. Having little religious knowledge, she chose a church based on appearance, vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows. Once inside she found it was unlike any other church. It was housing five hot "priests". They are undeniably dangerous, crazy, insanely attractive. Everything that appeals to Natalia.
Five fathers is a sinful read; provocative, sexy, enthralling, disturbing. It is addictive. Five mercenaries posing as priests on a mission to kill the local mob boss. When Natalia, the daughter of the boss unknowingly offers herself up to the men, they must decide how they want to use her; turn her against her father or hold her against him. They don't realize how the little spitfire will get to each of them or how they can end up hurting her even more than her father is capable of. They can offer her heaven or give her hell. Natalia is seriously messed up. She's damaged. Her greatest fear isn't dying, it's being caged. This explains so much about her. She self-medicates and uses sex to numb her loneliness, to make herself feel alive, to get her father's attention. She is self-destructive and strangely attracted to deadly, disturbing men. Hawke, Arsen, Weston, Colt, and Mace all fit her specific needs. Hawke is cold, Arsen is insane, Weston and Colt, deadly, sensual, and each with a touch of humor, and Mace, soft-hearted (for Natalia), a mountain of a man, complex Mace. Each man brings a new temptation for Natalia. It's seriously steamy.
The book is written in dual POV which works incredibly well with this cast of characters. It's great getting into everyone's messed up mind. This is not a sweet, sedate afternoon read. It's intense, a grab you by the balls and never let go thrill ride. It's a little obscene, with just the right amount of filth. I desperately want more. I may need to go to confession after this one...
I wasn't expecting what I got with this one. It started with what I thought would be really good, so I thought it would be an exciting suspense/thriller type but what I got was more dark and erotica than I care for.
Natalia is a horn dog, and that's an extreme understatement. I think to "appreciate" what I mean, you'd have to read the book. I didn't know what "reverse harem" genre was so after I read the book I looked it up and now I get why the plot took the direction it did.
The parts I liked best were the action and some comedy. I found it comedic that 5 violent men such as the men Natalia found herself with would be trying to pull off being priests.
I am not recommending this one, but that's not to say that it won't appeal to specific audiences.
A sinfully sexy read that will have you reading nonstop. Natalia runs from her father and heads to a church with 5 sexy as sin priests that will make anyone sin. But what they are hiding, Natalia knew they weren’t no ordinary priests. Hawke, Arsen, Weston, Colt and Mace will definitely hold your attention and have you begging for more. This was a great story with sexy AF men and that ending holy hell, I need the next book ASAP.
I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. This book is absolutely filthy, funny, sacrilegious, and I loved it.
Natalia runs from her sinful life and mafia father after he shoots the man with whom she’s having sex ... while having sex ... then douses him in gasoline and sets him on fire. Knowing she needs something to save her life and soul, she runs to a glorious stained glass church seeking asylum and salvation. She begs mercy of the priests to become a nun and renounce her sins of the flesh. But the five priests in residence are sinfully sexy and don’t seem to know much about their religion religion, so ... what’s a girl to do when moved by the Holy Spirit?
The five priests - Hawke, Colt, Mace, Arsen, and Weston, are either new to their jobs, or really bad priests. When Natalia learns who they are and why they’re here, she understands why she’s got her panties in a bunch, literally. If I had run into priests like this, I may have become quite religious myself.
This book is a riot! I love both of these authors, and yet this is something completely different but utterly sophisticated. This is the first book in a series and ends in cliffhanger. There is a lot of religious symbolism, sacrilege, sex, and violence, so read at your own peril. The opening chapters, to me, were some of the funniest writing I’ve read in a while. Go team!
This book is gritty, it's dark, it's naughty, it's sexy, it's a little taboo but oh boy did I love it!
When I first read the blurb for this book I was intrigued. There was something about the blurb that made me want to know what was going to be in the depths of this book. I've not read something like this before, I thought. It's not my usual read either I also thought. But, that blurb kept calling to me. Read me, it was saying, you know you want to. So read it I did and wow am I so glad I read it. Five Fathers is HOT! I could feel the steam rising off the pages. There's one scene in particular which is super hot, but then right after something else happens and it had me laughing. I swear, this book had me going from one emotion one minute straight into another the next that I was almost getting whiplash. One minute I'm laughing at something funny, the next I'm getting all hot and bothered and the next I'm in tears. I love a book that does that to me. When I read I want to feel and Five Fathers certainly made me feel many things.
The characters in this book are full of layers. Don't expect any of the "Five Fathers" to be lightness and happiness though as they're not. They're dark and dangerous but oh so appealing men. Natalia, who is the MC is not your typical heroine you read about in books. She's troubled and a little spoiled. She's not really done anything good or of significance in her past but I found myself liking her and feeling sympathy for her. I did want her to have a little bit more backbone, but can understand why she is the way she is and I think the author stayed true to the character in portraying her the way she did. I think she will grow that backbone a lot more in the next book though and am really looking forward to reading that.
Honestly, this book has blown me away. I loved the way it was written and found the story line intriguing and enjoyable. I haven't really read anything like this before and I'm not sure I could find anything else like Five Fathers that I would enjoy the same way or as much as I have this. This book definitely gets the full five stars from me and I'm really, really looking forward to reading Six Sinners, the next book in the series as soon as it's ready. Pick this book up and give it a chance just like I did as I'm pretty sure you won't regret it and will be thanking the Fathers for gracing you with their presence in your mind, I sure know I am 😉
Let me just premise this with I love C.M. Stunich th bully romances.... see Filthy Rich Boys our Secret Girl Series... excellent examples.
I was so completely and utterly disappointed in this story. It felt very... “how can we fit as much taboo and sex into a storyline without really telling a story.
The MC’s regular hookup is shot by her father in the middle of sex, then held down while they burn his body. She runs away to become a nun... runs into a bunch of hot pretend priests and jumps their bones HOURS after this awful encounter with her Father. HOURS LATER!!!!!!!
Then we pretend to have story in between lots of boning hot guys that are real assholes. Like they are literal assholes. Whoops there goes my pretend nun habit and put comes his dick.... rinse, wash, repeat...over and over and over until enough time has lapsed or pages have turned for this to be considered a book.
Yikes what a read. I seriously couldn’t put it down. I absolutely loved it.
Natalia is on the run from her mob father. She finds herself taking refuge in a church where she gets more than she bargained for. Can she trust them??
This was a hot and intense read. I didn’t want it to end. I’m so looking forward to reading more from this author and I can’t wait to read book two (hopefully soon). Be warned this may be taboo for some though not for me lol
"You like that little edge of pain with your pleasure, I can feel it."
I went into this book blindly, the name of the authors were enough for me to pick it up.
This is how I feel: I love all the men, her a little bit less. And I can not wait for the real action to begin. Because the action that has been going on in this book does nothing to me.

This is an interesting and steamy debut book by Kate Morgan that really captivates the readers attention! I think this series is going to get better and better as it goes on and we start to see the bonds deepening between Natalia and the guys! I am a little on the fence in some of the guys and I don’t always like how Natalia is treated but I reakon that will change once the start to feel more for each other! I have to admit that Weston, Mace and Colt. Arden is pretty bloody intense and very bloody dangerous and Hawke I am still uncertain if i like!! I would like to find out more about exactly what happened to Natalia in her life as a Mob Boss daughter and really get to learn more about all the MCs!! This series keeps the reader interested and begging for the next book as soon as this one is finished, however there are some areas that may be confronting to some readers!! Highly recommended book!!
This book was fun. And hot. I wasn’t really expecting to feel anything about it because, come on, but towards the end I found myself really invested in how Nat was feeling. How she was being affected. “Kate”’s writing never ceases to amaze me, to bring me down a notch.
As always, running thoughts:
Just found out that this is a pen name. Which is why I’m now reading it.
“Fill me with the word of God” I died laughing. God forgive me.
So hot.
This book is crazy hot. And also just crazy.
Hahaha. Oh, Arsen. You psycho.
I think contemporary is where CM really shines.
You know what would make this slightly hotter? If she didn’t know that they weren’t real priests. Just imagine.
Holy Moly - there must be something serious twisted with me! Once I started this book I could not put it down! Kate Morgan has done an amazing job with a story that captures you from the get go. With steamy scenes and hard hitting action, you get some of the best parts of the world. I honestly cannot wait to read Six Sinners and see just what happens next for these five fathers and their little Tzarina.
OH my FUCKING GOD, Holt crap that was next level RH , hot hot hot! If you want a fast paced and sexy RH read you should go for five fathers. I can't wait for the next book
Btw i feel sad that this book has been placed in the erotic section on amazon, it's soo stupid idiotic, ignorant of them. It's not erotic, so whyyy?? When they do this they make five fathers disappear when u try and search for it so the only way to buy this if you have the link to it...
I LOVE C.M Stunich and Tate James and when they get together whatever they churn out is AMAZING..except this one. Granted I know it’s a fast burn but it was hard to get through. Natalia is insufferable with her issues and her the back and forth feelings of guilt and confidence being a sex addict. Guys had very little character and the plot was thin and predictable. Also..it’s TRAPEZIUS not trapezoid for the love of god.
Holy smokes, I think that my kindle was lit on fire with how hot this book was! Talk about a super hot reverse harem read with some extremely alpha men and a girl that has such a HUGE appetite if you know what I mean. *Wink, Wink*
When Natalia stumbles into the church she expected priests, not undercover sinners, but either way her life was changed from that moment. What startles her is that the very men that opened their arms to somewhat welcome her want her father dead, what is a girl to do with that?!
All in all this book is dipped in sin and if you are a bit of a religious stickler, you probably be very unhappy with some sacrilegious aspects of it. But if you like it a bit dirty, you will freaking adore this book. I would have liked to have more of the actual story though, but I am intrigued to how the rest of the series unfolds! 4 outta 5 stars from me!
PS: A HUGE thank you to C.M. Stunich, Tate James, and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for allowing me a ARC of the book to read and review honestly!
Maybe 3.5. For the type of book this is it was well written and engaging, but not deep enough in its characterisation to make me justify a 4 stars.
If you've read other books by these authors then you know what to expect. Dark themes, dark characters and lots of smut.
Well, this book is all of those things, and to be fair, they are done well. It is a completely ridiculous premise, but this book doesn't take itself too seriously, which made me like it all the more really. I laughed a surprising amount and one scene in particular cracked me up. Let's just say it goes with the one girl and five fake priests thing and totally runs with it!
Annoying cliff hanger aside, if you're in the mood for a dark smutty read you could do a hell of a lot worse!
This book was so good! Priests my ass (snickering) I'm glad that flew out the window on day one! hahaha....priest. No one in their right mind would or should believe those dangerously sexy men are of the holy kind. Shit my hoe spirit knew it the second she stepped foot in that church. Down hoe! Down! Wooo great sexy read, can't wait for more.
Wow that was so dark and so not my usual type of read! But it totally had me hooked! Dunno if ill read the next one though. Too much angst even thought its not extremely angsty.
I was a little hesitant to read this book but it turned out pretty interesting. Not at all what I was expecting and I really need to know what happens next
It was a fast read. I thought there would be more to the story line but the first book really centered around learning the sexual desires of each man. It ended on a cliffhanger but knowing the next book will be out soon helps.
I felt the story lacked enough content for me. I’m all about a romance with sex but I felt like it was ONLY about sex. Yes, her father was after them but it wasn’t the basis of the story. It should have had more action in my opinion.
