Dinosaurs are pretty strong and powerful, so why can't they scribble?
This story is about a little boy who keeps hearing, "Never let a dinosaur scribble!" But in his heart believes that people just don't understand how beautiful scribbling can be. He wonders what would happen if he just gave him one crayon to scribble with, and realizes that the dinosaur had other ideas in mind!
The dinosaur ends up creating too much, creating a whole new set of problems. But with a little imagination makes the most magnificent art! And realizes that at first things can look like a disaster but in the end become a true masterpiece!
My 5 year old said he loved this whole story because and I quote "There wasn't actually a mess." Great art and story again! These are cute little stories for 5 years and older!
Read this for my students (k-2nd graders). They loved it and had lots of giggles. They’d give it 5 stars. I did too on amazon. But here I follow the GR scoring system so it gets 3 for enjoyed.
This was a fun book to read as an anticipatory activity to a Jackson Pollock no mess art activity we did. The kids were anticipating what was going to happen next and thought the ending was fun.
This is a cute and fun story. The cover even has glitter! The story is very true to life for children. The ending may or may not surprise you, don’t think about it too much and just enjoy the story.
Text to Teaching I would use this story as a reading and art assignment. I like this book because as adults we sometimes want to stop our children from making a mess, so we block their chances of using their creativity. With my class I would have my students to pretend that they were a dinosaur and draw a picture of what they think a dinosaur would be drawing. Along with the drawing they would write and finish this sentence If I were a dinosaur, I would draw a "blank" This will give them a chance to use their imagination and critical thinking skills.
I was so excited when I saw a dinosaur version of never let a unicorn scribble. My daughter absolutely loves dinosaurs so I knew she’d love this. I love it and I love how Diane intertwines her stories together. I’ve noticed it in quite a few of her books, like this one with painting the stones, and the Stones book where scribbles and splatters make an appearance to help the little stone out.
I was reading the story on my kindle to my 4 years old niece who kept on turning the page to read what will dinosaur scribble! The story is delightful with nice illustrations. Children will definitely enjoy
People who say "Never let a dinosaur scribble" are usually the same buttholes who say stuff like "Never let a female read, it gives her ideas" or "Never let men play hopscotch, only football." Those of us who know better read stuff from REAL WOMEN LIKE DIANE ALBER to laugh at their expense. Those guys are the bad dinosaurs, lost in prehistoric times...as in the 1950s where allegedly it was "safer". The dinosaur in this ebook is a good dinosaur who wants to scribble with color pencils and paint, and he's best friends with a small boy, who gets nervous upon learning of the dino's plans for art dominance. The dino somehow figures that painting the walls is not the brightest idea ever, so he finds small rocks on the floor and does tiny pictures with watercolor paint. And then he tries using huge boulders, causing the boy to freak in panic! Then mom comes home to find.....huge rocks? Hell no! Small rocks on a table, neat as you please, with little painted pictures on them. She likes THAT! See sometimes we need to break free from one type of dinosaur mentality and try a new one, one where even a dino can change and make things better. If only DONALD were that kind of dinosaur. Buuuut we can dream. Four stars This dino is a Salvador Dali-saurus!!!
There was a little boy who had a pet dinosaur, and he would always hear the saying never let a dinosaur scribble. He started to grow curious of why they shouldn’t scribble so he gave his pet dino a marker. His dino ran for the wall but got distracted before he could. He noticed some little rocks on the floor and decided to color them, but he wasn’t satisfied so went for paint. He loved them so he got bigger rocks making an even bigger mess. The little boy’s mom soon returned home, and he panicked getting scared. So, he decided to tell his mom before she could see the mess. She went to look and to her surprise, it was just the little boy's imagination and there wasn’t any mess just some beautifully painted rocks. This story taught me that your imagination is a very powerful thing.

All great art starts with a scribble- for dinosaurs too!
An adventurous boy wants to know why people say he should not ever let a dinosaur scribble. Readers learn about giving others a fair chance and trusting others in their experiments. This book is the perfect compliment to Never Let A Unicorn Scribble. Confidence in your own abilities is the main emphasis in this great story
This book is cute and the story line is written well. Its starts with a little boy who has a pet dinosaur who he is told to not let scribble. He doesn’t understand why not so he gives him a crayon and he starts to color on a rock. He couldn’t see his scribble on the rock so he decides to get the paint! Truly a creative and fun book. I think a read aloud is possible with this story but would not use on grades higher that 3rd.
This was cute and had a great moral of the story ending. This is great for parents who worry to much about things children do. Sometimes it is ok to let them be and do to become something far more amazing then they thought they could ever be. 😉 it's ok to make mess and try something new even if it seems scary. This coming from a OCD mother. I highly recommend this book

I really liked how the dinosaur made good choices. I thought he was going to scribble on the wall, but he didn't! The rocks were very colorful, and different sizes. I give this book 5 stars! I liked it a lot.
Reading this book to her over facetime, it was great for predicting what could happen next. We really enjoy this series and will continue to read more by this author.
A little boy got a dinosaur and was told to never let him scribble. What could he do with just ONE CRAYON. Only scribble on PAPER, not on the wall. He saw rocks instead. He tried to use the crayon, but it didn't show on the rock. He went and got paint to scribble with. What did he want to paint next? Have you ever painted a rock? I found this book on Kindle Umnlimited and so can you.
Never Let a Dinosaur Scribble! has an overwhelming message of "never let what people say to you hold you back from going after your dreams". I think this book did a really good job showing that everyone starts out somewhere and just because someone says you can't do something, doesn't make them right. It is a cute and comical read and I would recommend this book.
I evaluated this for a dinosaur themed story time, but decided not to use it. It's a little long for my age group. The story of a young boy who decides to give his dinosaur some creative freedom and ends up having work very hard to make sure the right things get decorated is pretty cute. It could also be a fun one for a story time before a rock painting craft.
My sons sat perfectly still to listen to this story. Then they asked for me to read another one. That is a sign of a GREAT story if two toddler boys want to sit and read more!
An imaginative story about creating art, the Dinosaur gets overly rambunctious when painting. His buddy tries to keep him in control and learns some imaginative art ideas along the way.
the illustrations were great. Loved the imagination of the little boy. Also the art that was drawn was adorable. Its a great book for kids learning how to read. My nephew and I really enjoyed this one.
Dinosaur art is ok and so is kids art. Assures kids that anyone can create art, even dinosaurs. Encourages creativity and spontaneous invention. Great for story time lead up to art activity.
trdddf Chennai Broad Byrd Butternut Bgffuyfgdyndydudidjtxjydydtjdykdyjgjdyjcgjxxng yo what are these days I think that this has led light source and a few minutes late last month in his book is it ok
I really love the illustrations and the specifically placed splashes of color. The use of repetition allows a new reader to practice learned words from prior pages. Clearly this little boy has a dinosaur sized imagination!
This wasn't my favorite book, I struggled to find how students could connect to it. At first, I thought maybe if kids had an imaginary friend they could connect. Then I thought maybe it's for kids who want to do art but don't think they are good enough. This was not my favorite book.
Never Let a Dinosaur Scribble by Diane Alber – This one was a freebie. While the kiddos will love the call for creativity, the adult in me enjoyed the moment of being grateful for a mom who saw the art and not the mess! Happy Reading!
