This is a pretty good book, some love, a little action, some twists and turns. Give it a try, I think you will like it.

Who would think you could get time travel, murder, humor, ghosts and a western all between the covers of one book? For that matter who would think you could pull it all together in a fun plot and an interesting story?

One could think that all of the pieces or elements I mentioned in the previous paragraph could make for a confusing story, but that didn’t happen here. I think part of it was Ackerson’s talent in writing dialog. Remember there are 3 people conversing at a time here now and then in this story. At least three if you believe in ghosts :) But there was no question who was “whom” by the way the author crafted the conversations. While font may not seem very important in this day and age of changing to anything you want on our ereaders but the subtle move of placing the dialog of one person (here we’ll say the ghost) in italics makes a big difference in the tone of a book. The dialog in this book is done with the flow of reading in mind.

Speaking of believing in ghosts there’s another thing the author did in this cute book. She engaged very black and white oriented people like me who would never, ever, believe in anything paranormal and made the whole “ghost-thing” seem humorous and real and fitting with the story. Slipped that stuff right by we non-believers. I enjoyed it too.

Pamela Ackerson has several books published. All have good reviews.

I found this book to be very interesting. It incorporates many fun topics like ghosts, murder, love story, time travel, and of course, Texas Rangers. The deeper story is that of love in healing. I could not put the story down and had to complete it to see how it wrapped up. The writing was such that I found myself fully engaged in the story and hoping that things were going to work out for the "good guys". With the backdrop of murder, I found myself incredibly anxious through the entire work. This is a really good read. There were some unfulfilled characters and sub-plots that I look forward to hearing about in coming works.

Garrett Houston is a Texas Rancher who is haunted by a ghost named Margarite who wants vengeance for her death and will not rest until her murderer is caught. This romantic western read involving time travel, murder and romance was a fantastic read and I really enjoyed reading it.

Sweet, funny, engaging!

I absolutely loved this book!! It was sweet, funny, engaging, and oh so entertaining!! I have always loved time travel and westerns- here's a great mix of both! There are some open/gray areas- I seriously hope that there are more books around this one in the future!

I did receive an advance copy for my honest opinion. This is not embellished!

Great story!!

My only problem with this book was it could have been much, much longer! Kept racing back to see what was going to happen next till it finally ran out (darn it...)

“With you, I can see forever. Tomorrow is on the way and the possibilities are endless.”

Garrett Houston is a Texas Ranger, but not just the average run of the mill Texas Ranger, he’s part of a time traveling convention that investigate cold case crimes. While meeting up with some of his fellow companions, Garrett suddenly finds himself harassed by a spirit that demands he travel back and bring her killer to justice.

Margarite has finally found someone that can hear her, and becomes emphatic that he help her escape the darkness. She is only nearly dead and time is of an essence if she is to survive the horror of her attack. As the clues of Margarite’s disappearance are brought to light, Garrett finds himself investigating not only her attempted murder, but also the deaths of several other women.

As Margarite begins to adjust and heal from her trauma, she finds strength and love in the arms of her rescuer. She also discovers that “Sometimes the things we need to change end up changing us.”

Garrett’s Ghost is a cozy romantic mystery with hints of time travel and paranormal. It is this reader’s hope that some of the subplots and characters that were introduced are given their own story. A very enjoyable read that I'd recommend!

A ghost?

A ghost and time travel seemed only to be in the first part of the book. No other mention of time travel nor about a ghost.
Book got a bit steamy towards the end and I didn't feel that information was needed.
The historical part was interesting.

He was being haunted, by a bedraggled scrap of a woman, who was nagging him to go back to Oregon, to prevent any other girls being murdered.
The outcome is surprising, but a very feel good story, in the end.

What a story

I have never read a book as gut-wrenching as this one yet carry a happy ending for some. How in the world did Pamela Ackerson come up with such and evil plot? It boggles the mind.
