I am originally from a small town in northeast Indiana. Typical introvert kid; closer to books than people — grew up with a fascination for horror novels (Stephen King, Dean Koontz) and medieval fantasy (Piers Anthony, R.A Salvatore).

In April of 1996, I moved out on my own to Phoenix, Arizona to find my own path.

On a personal level, I have been married to my wonderful wife, Erika since October 10th, 2012. I have two stepchildren, Jenna and Johnny, and a two-year-old baby girl, Jessiena.

I have completed my first novel, Consequences Within Chaos and will be extending the story in my upcoming sequel, The Bleeding Crown. Also on Amazon & Kindle, I have In Four Days: Horror Suspense Novella.

I’m a big fan of Derek Barton and his epic fantasy books and his crime/suspense-thriller series “Elude”. So, when he came to me with the opportunity to read a version of an unpublished book his father wrote back in the 90’s I of course jumped at the chance. I, not having the slightest notion or idea how a book is selected to be published am astonished that this one never got to see the light of day or was able to breath it’s life amongst us readers. Lucky for us, and lucky for everyone that we have a great community of self-published and independently published books to choose from. I have always been, and will continue to be a big supporter of independent author. Some of the most memorable and brilliant books I’ve read have come from such authors.

“The Hidden” by T.D. Barton & Derek Barton is a brilliant reimagining of the classic werewolves origins story. It’s a timeless piece that really is something original in its telling of and dealing with the idea of the origins of a pack of wolf like monsters. I was gobsmacked, on the edge of my seat the entire reading. The only thing that got in my way of finishing this book any sooner is the fact that I have a real life to attend to. These two talented authors conjured up some amazing plots, characters and a storyline that is original, moody atmospheric and quite believable. The timing and flow of this book is so smooth and filled with so much anticipation and anxiety that I was on a number occasions reaching for my anti-anxiety medication!

Another thing I really like about this book was the way it ended. It ended just fine and dandy, however; there an open end that gives a possible continuation for this brilliantly crafted tale. T.D. Barton, please pick that quill back up and give us some more of your world craftsmanship. And Derek, as usual brilliant.
