I'm a wife and a mother to a beautiful 7 year old and active 4 year old . I love to cook, but as crazy busy as my life is, the slow cooker is my life-saver! My passion for developing recipes started at a young age when my grandma taught me and my cousins to cook. During my college years, I began to experiment on my own and as I entered the work force, my creativity really developed. My second cookbook, The Gluten-Free Slow Cooker will be released on Oct. 1, but it available for presale wherever books are sold now. My first cookbook, Slow Cooker Recipes 10 Ingredients or Less and Gluten-Free is available for sale online. In addition to writing cookbooks, I teach Elementary Music, I'm a Young Living Essential Oils Educator and a blogger. Am I crazy busy...or just crazy? Yes, but I love living my life the way I'm living it!
Pictures of recipes? Yes. Commentary on recipes? Nope. Nutrition facts? No. Recipe Style? Low effort? IDK. Any keepers? Nope.
First of all, is there a more unappetizing word to associate with food other than dump? You're already on thin ice with me because that word in a food related sense makes me nauseous.
The recipes were really underwhelming. Too much reliance on boxed mixes and canned soup. One recipe was composed of all canned ingredients. Is that what cooking has been reduced to? Definitely not "crazy yummy" recipes.
Yes, there is a picture of each recipe; and yes, each recipe is short and fits on one page, which is great! However, these are not gourmet recipes to impress anyone with, since there is a lot of reliance on canned soups and pre-mixed seasoning packets. But when you work late on a regular basis and come running in the door ready to eat dinner 15 minutes past your normal bed time, this is just the ticket! I've been looking for more slow cooker recipes that actually take 7-8 hours to cook, and this fit the bill perfectly!
Super easy dinners- the best chapters are soups and stews. It really doesn’t get easier than this, and there is a picture for every recipe and some recipes have modification ideas. The only thing is that many of the deserts don’t look that appetizing, and I don’t know how easy they would be to get out of the pot.
It was okay, I got about 5 recipes from it but I was looking for stuff that was super simple. Something with minimal ingredients, minimal if any prep time and I'm picky so... that's why I didn't find much. I'll keep looking. One thing though... be careful going to sites with recipes, I've gotten viruses from them. Make sure you have a good anti-virus.
Easy recipes, have done several and all were good. Nice to have a photo of each recipe. The desserts seemed less appealing but the soups/stews look very appetizing.
