This the second book in this delightfully silly series sees our protagonist Lily facing the grand opening of her bed and breakfast disintegrating into mayhem. Not only does she have an odd aunt to contend with, bizarre moving gnomes, a reluctant half sister, missing items and now to top it all there's a very dead body ! You would think that was more than enough for anyone to put up with but no there's also the mystery of just why Lily is hearing a strange voice in her head . Insanity surely cannot be far off now !
This was a fun read and it was very entertaining. I'm loving these oddball characters but this time I thought the mystery was really well thought out. This turned out to be a book that made me smile and I cannot think of anything better.
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Any Witch Way but Good is the next book in the Unlucky Valley series and a awesome little read. From it's suspense filled halls to it's quirky residents around every corner The Garden Gnome Bed and Breakfast it's definitely worth the trip.
You should never leave a one star review or you turn your back or karma just might come and get ya . Unfortunately it was the case for one unlucky guest. I mean come on a place called Garden Gnome Bed and Breakfast in a place called Unlucky/Lucky Valley I mean what are the odds.
Things never seem to go right when Aunt Polly is around she means well and if you know about Aunt Polly then you know what I mean. When the Sheriff arrives and begins to look into things things go a muck and it always seems to be the last person you would think or what is the murder. Maybe the Butler did it, that is if there was one.
Not only with the murder hanging in the air there seems to be trouble in other areas. Yep murder, freaky storm ,strange games and things coming and going should be a definite tourist attraction if marketed right.
Things just don't fit but then again the answers are just there if you look hard enuff. But just don't look to hard ya just might not like what you find or miss it.

I enjoyed this quirky cozy paranormal mystery. This is book two and I am only just joining the series. While it does work as a standalone, I will probably find myself picking up book one, as if I was under a spell, okay I just love humour filled cozy mysteries and this series seems to fit the bill. The story is mostly told by the main character Lily, with a few chapters from her boyfriend's perspective, this worked well because it gave the author a chance to add some humour or situations that Lily wouldn't have been involved in. I loved the characters, especially the ever helpful Aunt, whose help the main character could have done without. With unusual animal familiars and garden gnomes that move on there own she was definitely not the only one I liked. however I think I would have liked the story to be slightly longer because with all the quirky goings with spells not working, teleporting, life threatening storms and family drama the mystery wasn't too involved and contained very few suspects or motives. However I actually didn't really mind because I was so caught up in everything that was going on, that I didn't really notice. In fact the end just sort of creeped up on me. This meant that I listened to it all in one sitting and was surprised that the time had flown bye. A sign of a fun book. I will be looking out for more books in this series.
Lily is trying to keep her family together, for her that means running a bed and breakfast that was left to her by there estranged mother. The problem is the town thinks her family has brought a curse with them and wants them gone, so receiving a one star review during opening week isn't ideal. Especially as they then find the reviewer's dead body still on the property. With the sheriff busy fishing, Lily pleas with his deputy to solve it quickly and quietly by letting her help investigate. Aunty Polly also wants to help and uses her magic to create a storm, trapping all the suspects in the B&B. This givies Lily and the deputy time to find the killer but creates problems in its self, like Lily and her family are living with a killer.
I thought it was strange to choose a male narrator for a story that is primarily told by a female character but he soon won me over with the voices he gave the characters, especially Aunt Polly's voice.

An improvement on the first book

Lily and Nolan are now.living together in their new bed and breakfast ---along with Lilys siblings Dante and Mira and not forgetting Aunt Polly---- so there's not much room left for guests. Luckily though the grand opening is off to a good start with a full house but then the bad luck.curse strikes again as things start to.go missing from only the guests rooms, and their first review gets only one star. Lily upset over such a bad start is checking in with Him and work on the cottages when she finds herself drawn to the one they're using for storage. The bad luck continues when she finds a dead body in there. It's the guest who left the bad review, Lily thought she'd left hours ago. There's no option but to report what is obviously a suspicious death to the police but apart from possibly having a murderer under her roof Lily is also left with worrying over whether this will.destroy their new buisness. Mayhem ensues as Lily, Dante, and Mira try to use their fledgling magic skills to find the killer while also.relying on Aunt Polly for help. Nolan is left feeling as if Lily is drifting away from him and is worried their relationship is too new to survive such strain.

When Lily inherited the family home, land, and defunct (and haunted) mining town in Lucky Valley, Colorado, she decided she would turn the mansion into a bed and breakfast. The Garden Gnome Bed and Breakfast is open. There has already been a one-star review, and things are not going particularly well. Items, mostly small, are disappearing from the guests’ rooms, the gnomes are everywhere, and with the exception of Nolan, her werewolf boyfriend, and Aunt Polly, the other residents of the house are not doing, well, anything. The topper? The body of a former guest is found in one of the cottages. Now Lily has a hostile town, angry ghosts, flakey magic, a new familiar named Winston, and a murder mystery to handle. Can she do it? This is a laugh-out-loud cozy mystery with a cast of wacky characters, wandering garden gnomes, and Herman the dancing lobster. B. J. Harrison’s narration is spot on. I am looking forward to more adventures with the Crawford-Goode family of wonderful witches.

Awesome

Received the first book in this series as a gift and it didn't give me the opportunity to leave a review. Lily inherits a house and moves with her brother, Dante, to find a home. They had been abandoned by their druggie mother when Lily was 7. Aunt Polly is there to greet them telling them they are really witches. The town is trying to run them out because they think they bring bad luck. And, things get crazy. Deciding to open a B&B, a dead body is found opening week.

This is a cozy mystery. Lighthearted with some sad undertones. The romance is sweet. The sense of familial bonds is very strong. I give this a strong 5 stars. The characters and town have become a lot more defined in this book. I'm really looking forward to reading more stories about this family, laughing and smiling with them, understanding the how their abandonment gives them such strong ties.

Lily's Grand Opening . . .

Lily Goode is opening her Garden Gnome Bed and Breakfast, but it isn’t the rousing success she had hoped for. There is a murder. Her family is a bit obnoxious, although she is terribly accepting of their faults, evidently not good at communication and confrontation. Fortunately Nolan is a good addition to her life with tons of patience – too bad she doesn’t seem to deserve him.

So when a guest is found dead in one of my cottages during her grand opening celebration, Lily realizes this mystery must be solved or her B&B business is doomed to failure. Can she find the murderer? Or will she try to witch-it-away before the authorities find out?

This is a somewhat entertaining mystery with a variety of characters, some very annoying, and a story line that flows well as the reader tries to figure out the mystery along with Lily. Was someone trying to ruin her B&B business? Grab your copy and find the answer!

In spite of the fact that her family name is feared and mistrusted, Lily and her partner have started a business. In this, the second book of the UnLucky Valley series, Lily is celebrating the grand opening of her new Bed and Breakfast in the town of Lucky Valley. Of course, things don't go as planned when a murder occurs on the premises, which threatens to ruin the whole business venture. Between the murder mystery, a new boyfriend, misfiring magic, and unexpected family members, Lily has her hands full. Throw in a wonderfully wacky character (I love Aunt Polly!), the odd garden gnomes and a good dose of humor and you end up with a fun, clean, paranormal mystery story. To pick it up from the start, the first book of this series is Better Haunts and Garden Gnomes: A Cozy Paranormal Mystery.

This cozy mystery has it all. There are thieves, a murdered guest, witches, a werewolf and a hysterical Aunt Polly ( who could give Uncle Raibeart a run for his money, except 1 small thing).
It's opening weekend and poor Lilly has to deal with so much. Not only the aforementioned, excluding the werewolf. Nolan is her very sweet and helpful boyfriend. She is dealing with "family" members who just occupy guest rooms and don't lift a finger to help. Plus, as a newbie witch her magic is going a tad haywire so now she has to deal with everything that entails as well. Least we not forget, Aunt Polly is there to help.......what else could possibly go wrong? Does Lilly and her B and B make it past opening weekend? You'll have to read to find out. You'll be glad you did.
This is a page turning, quick read that I just couldn't put down. It's highly recommend.

This was a semi light read. The mishaps of Lily's attempts to use her magic and her eccentric aunt Polly brought a little lightness to this story. It was not all chuckles, not just because of the murder mystery. There was the reference to the child abuse the children endured, along with Lily's flashbacks.
I couldn't connect with Lily. She came across as fickle, whiney and unappreciative of Nolan.
As for the narration, it could have been better. There were enough male and female characters that it would have made more sense to have a woman and man do the narration. Also, the narrator changed his voice for the female characters that didn't make sense. For example, he did the sister Mora with a southern belle voice, but she was not from the south. He did aunt Polly and the rich guests in an stuffy English accent.

This is a quirky, witty and creative cozy mystery and I loved it! A crazy cast of characters that were so fun to get to know. Lucky Valley, Colorado is anything but lucky right now, but Lily Goode is determined to make her inheritance a successful bed and breakfast and stable home for her siblings, Dante and Mara. The home even comes with her Aunt Polly, a bunch of strange garden gnomes and a nearby town the hates her. With the help of her werewolf boyfriend and Aunt Polly she hopes to make a go of things, but she's also learning how to be a witch with her newfound powers that just happen to misfire. Finding a dead body in one of her cottages doesn't really help matters. They have to figure out what is going on and solve this mystery before the business ends up closing forever. The narrator was great. I look forward to more! I need to go back and check out book 1!

All Lily wants to do is run a B&B in the big house she inherited. Admittedly the locals think she's responsible for a curse on the town, and every bit of bad luck they have... but her guests will be tourists, not locals. Everything should be just fine, especially if she has a nice, smooth, quiet opening.

Whoever is responsible for turning the B&B's opening into an entertaining whodunit is about to discover Lily Goode isn't going down without a fight.

This is a laugh out loud story, with entertaining family dynamics, hilarious misfiring magic, the ultimate in eccentric family members and ghosts... and tucked in amidst that humor is a huge amount of heart. So glad I visited (Un) Lucky Valley.

LOOK OUT FOR THE GNOME WHO WAN'TS REVENGE
This is what I thought of book one BETTER HAUNTS AND GARDEN GNOMES: FANTASTIC WITCHY TALE well narrated in a lovely voice. When a magical house is inherited by a human girl (she doesn't know she is more), she gets more than she expected and gets to meet an aunt with a gnome fetish and an eccentric manner. I just loved this story and think you will too, so entertaining. RECOMMENDED
Book two ANY WITCH WAY BUT GOOD has me almost wetting myself from laughing so much. I especially like the disembodied male voice following Lily around the house, Mara the sister who was born and raised in a barn and has a special connection to ghosts. (you will find some of her history in book one). I found Lily's interaction with her new magic very entertaining and Polly's manner of dressing fun. I am dying to find out more about the gnomes and see if the trolls do show up. Recommended Series narrated in a perfect series of voices.

This is book 2 in Pillow's (Un)Lucky Valley series and oh my stars this was such a delight to listen! Well written and narrated - this cozy paranormal mystery was just what I wanted! Great quirky characters, in a town that's well...not what one would expect. Our main character Lily, along with her family have fixed up the family inherited home - during the grand opening weekend of The Garden Gnome Bed and Breakfast a dead guest becomes their biggest problem and the cause of the grand closing. Silly, over the top characters make this an addictive read / listen for me. I really can't wait for more in this series - I love this kinda a crazy - I mean quirky!

Can things get any worse for Lily Goode and her siblings? You bet your life they can when their opening of the B & B does not go as well as expected. Especially as the guest who posted a 1* review turns up dead. Lily, Dante, and Mira use their newfound magic abilities, with differing results, along with quirky Aunt Polly and werewolf Liam to solve the murder mystery. A rock and roll journey which will keep you entertained and engrossed.

Any Witch Way But Goode is a continuation of Lily Goode. In the first book, Better Haunt and Garden Gnomes didn't really give much of Lily's past. Lily is uptight. She was willing to sell her inheritance until her attorney told her that her mother left a trust to fix the house and Aunt Polly fixing the house one project at a time.

Any Witch Way But Goode gives more of Lily's past. Her mother's abandonment really messed her up pretty badly. Lily, in some sense, feel responsible for her brother, Dante, and sister, Jesse and then discovered that she has another sister, Mara that she didn't know about.

Lily couldn't even share her past with Nolan who is patience and way too good for her. The only way Nolan found out about her past was that Lily's witch power accidentally drew Nolan into her flashback.

As Lily tried to solve the mysterious death of one of her guest at her B&B, she is learning to share her B&B and witch responsibility with her siblings and to depend on Nolan more.

Now the question is when will Lily's sister, Jessie going to show up in this series.

With Aunt Polly, there is always humor and laughter. I love this one scene when Aunt Polly wanted to be deputized to help question all of Lily's guests, each being a suspect in this case.

The narrator, B.J. Harrison delivers now that the story has a direction of where it is taking the readers/listeners.

The second book to this series and it’s still so fun. Witches trying to learn to control their magic while running a bed and breakfast for mostly people who don’t know that the entire town is a town of supernatural creatures. And a murder right as said bed and breakfast launches. It’s fun, it’s charming, at times it’s silly (I’m looking at you Aunt Polly and Herman), and I love it. The characters all have their own voices but mostly the household is mainly freeloaders. Fun and distinct characters though.

This follow-up to Better Haunts and Garden Gnomes. I enjoyed revisting this cast of characters, especially Aunt Polly. The author did a great job writing a story filled with humor, plenty of snark, a bit of romance and of course a mystery that you could easily enjoy. The narrator was a great fit for the story. I could actually visualize everything as it played out. Hopefully we'll get to see more of this small Town and learn more about Lily and her siblings.

An experience that you'll always remember or never forget is a stay at Garden Gnomes B&B in (Unlucky) Valley.
Lily Goode is the owner who has dreams of stability for her siblings and herself and have a happy, normal life.
It seems that the house and assorted "others" have a different agenda.
This makes for a fun and quirky but never boring front row seat for the B&B's grand opening.
The mayhem continues in this second book and hope there are many more!

Just as the first book, this one picks up following the Goode family carve their way in (Un)Lucky Valley. Many of the citizens in town still don’t know if they should trust the Goode family and things happen in the Inn that Lily has recently opened up leaving the Goode family to blame. Aunt Polly is there and she’s as quirky as ever. This is a cozy mystery and I found it enjoyable and it truly had be guessing as to who was responsible. I listened to the audiobook and it was a enjoyable listen.

Back in (Un)Lucky Valley and this time Lily and Nolan have the Garden Gnome Bed & Breakfast up and running. Lily has alot on her plate keeping guests happy, worried about her relationship with Nolan, glitchy witchy magical powers, a new sister, crazy familiars and an even crazier Aunt Polly.
And now there is a murder to investigate!
Great story and I love these characters. I was definitely fun visiting Lucky Valley again.
The audio narration was fantastic and very enjoyable!

More Gnomes, Plus a Murderer Afoot

This time, one of the guests at the Garden Gnomes Bed and Breakfast has turned up dead. Whodunnit? Don’t worry, Aunt Polly is on the case, along with the Deputy… but what about the mysterious Sheriff? This story was one catastrophe after another, and I loved it! B J Harrison does a fantastic job of narrating this, with plenty of enthusiasm and unique voices for all the characters. Another cozy mystery by Michelle M. Pillow.

Michelle M. Pillow wrote an amazing cozy mystery. B.J. Harrison did a wonderful job with the narration. The story is cute, cozy, funny, entertaining and interesting. It’s not your typical murder mystery. When the main characters are paranormal you would think it would be easy to find out what happened but it not. Will the B&B stay open after what happened? What a Grand Opening

Ah, Lily & Nolan's adventures in opening a B&B. Giggles, chuckles happen throughout while we learn more about Lily's upbringing. Aunt Polly interferes regularly and the rest of the family finds ways to get out of helping around the house. We get a sneak peak at more of Lucky Valley's supernatural community.

Mystery, magic and gnomes

Good reading, the zany gnomes, wacky Aunty Polly and a B &B.
Plus love, a murdered guest and familiars getting up to mischief.
With laughs and a look at what could and does go wrong running a B&B.
This series and Everlasting will keep you amused for hours.

Lily and Nolan have formed a partnership and are living together in the renovated Victorian turned B&B. Lily's powers are still wonky and she is still uncertain of her future. The batch of guests that are staying at the B&B all become suspects when a dead body is discovered in one of the cottages. The paranormal mixes with cozy mystery in this entertaining second book of the series.

Frustrating

I wanted to like this second book but it fell flat. Lily is incredibly annoying. She comes across overly anxious and repetitive. Characters need to grow and they need to be likeable so you care about their journey. Each of these characters set my teeth on edge for different reasons.
