I am in love with these Dragons! Dragon Whelps brings us Shale, one of the Earth twins who is finally getting his just deserts. Unbeknown to him he leaves Georgia pregnant on Earth after a stag run. Little does he know when he shows back up he will be facing a very pi$$ed off women.

Georgia has enough on her plate when she finds out she is pregnant. She decides to give up her child for adoption so that it will be taken well care for. But when Georgia finds out Shale is back in town she wants him to know what he has done to her, or to take care of their child while she goes on with her life. She knows she can not take of this child. Georgia gets a surprise when Shale offers to not only take care of the child but her as well.

I loved this story. Georgia and Shale are such great characters, and their chemistry is fantastic. Their banter back and forth is so funny that I found myself laughing out loud. Charlene has brought a great book to life. Dragon Whelps is one I will be rereading!

Dragon Whelps is the third amazing book in the Earth Dragons series, which follows The Bride Hunt series. The story revolves around dragons who meet the one and their lives are changed forever. But there are dramas along the way. That's when the fun begins.

While each book can be enjoyed as a standalone, it's best to read them in order to fully appreciate the rich paranormal elements and exciting themes they offer. The characters must fight to stay alive, but what they discover is even more significant than they ever imagined.

I love the strong, sexy alpha males in protective roles!

A good story.
An interesting twist on secret baby troupe.
Heroine does try to find him but according to the storyline in the series, the Dragon men don't visit the village very often so she can't find him.
Hero is totally devoted once reunited with heroine.
Dual POV.
Flashbacks to initial meeting.
Small ex-drama, other woman.
Insinuations of heroines interest in another man.
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
No cheating.
HEA.
Ending of book leads into story of next book.
Secondary characters for future books in series and updates of previous characters from previous books and series.

Spoiler alert - Please be aware
Georgia would never have expected that night to change her life forever….
Georgia had that one wonderful night with her Dragon lover Shale although she had no idea that he was a shifter and he had found himself totally enchanted by the beautiful redhead with shocking green eyes and a heart that was so kind and loving, sweet and generous and heart that left him knowing that she was someone that put everyone before herself.
Caring for her ill mother she had been shocked to discover that he was a pregnant she knew the only option was to put the baby up for adoption and this still allowed that she could care for her mother in a home where she paid for the medical care and the hospital care which even with two jobs she could barely afford.
Then her best friend had notified her that Shale was back in Dalton Springs so she had made her way to the pub to let her know about the pregnancy, he had been so pleased about the babies however when he had told her that the baby was in fact babies and also that they were due any time and not an additional three months.
The boys were beautiful and as they had the boys and he showed her what a wonderful father he was there was no doubt he was totally in awed with the babies but he also loved the mother of her child as well. Then as they bring the boys and their grandmother back to the lair, he is aware that their lives will now be very valuable to the Dragon Hunters, they would be anxious to gain the new mother and the little princes.
Then as Sand accompanies Macy in going to Georgia’s old apartment to pick up some important keepsakes, they both are taken and after three weeks of hunting, enquiries via various different agencies there is still no indication who has taken them hostage, then after three weeks things suddenly take on a whole new turn of events.
Sand in dragon form crashes through the window demanding that a team is put together to raid those holding Macy hostage, he is not holding any restraint he is ready to go right away
However, it doesn’t appear it’s the Dragon Hunters that have her, in that case who could it possibly be? Only Sand has the answer, they just have to wait for him to get his breath back, he’s totally exhausted……
This is a wonderful love story where two individuals overcome so much in a very short time and all through it, they have each other to fall back on, Shale is such a good, kind, caring father and man and there is no denying that she has fallen in love with him.
However, she will not tie him to her or the boys if he does not love the, she would rather he be a good father, have a great friendship with, rather than him hate her and feel as though he’s been captured by the circumstance of her pregnancy……
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Well, this was a waste of my time.

The only thing the novella has going for it, is that it serves some female fantasies about men, babies and family in a bubble.
yeah, like for example being pregnant only for six months, having no bodily aftereffects of the birthing of twins...
and two dragged out sex scenes where I can rub myself.
Is this all the author aspired with this book?

Because there wasn’t a story there. Nada.

The world building was non existent.

The characters were superficial and one dimensional.

The dialogues and conflicts single minded, focused only on the romance aspect in such an immature way, I was constantly rolling my eyes.
The female character was so far removed from reality it was nauseating and unbelievable.

So no!!!

There were some really funny contributions like the naming of states or the red bush but that doesn’t make a real book.

We have no real info about the social structure or form of governing.
Apparently it is a monarchy. That’s all we get. Does his father rule? And where? No idea.
Then we have elders!?! Only mentioned once and again no more information.
The lair? Where is it, as they are able to fly there by helicopter?
Is there a dimensional portal or what?
I have no clue.
What does it really look like? How big is it? Who lives there? Is it all dragon sized?
The fundamental lack of a world building is staggering.
And then there is the fact, it is a bloody book about Dragons.
And what I got were 3 sentences about dragons flying by a window or by a helicopter in the distance and that was it, for the whole shebang!!!
No transformation or using the shifter characteristics in the book in any way or tool.
Besides a “tattoo” marking, which again lacks information. What is the purpose of it besides a neon sign i am a shifter.
Are the markings family related or do they indicate some power?
Not even once is mentioned when the babies shift for the first time or anything making this bloody awful book worth reading!!!

And a few inconsistencies all over the book.
The one time appearance of an elder healer who wants to check up on the mother and the new borns, ends up with the elder looking at our female characters giant boobs, giving some feeding tips and leaving again!!
What kind of medical check up is that, a day after giving birth and not even looking after the babies at all.

So again no!!!

Sorry but I do not give any star for this book, had to make it 1 so I can explain:
what is this?! Both characters just suck! And calling each other state names all the time during sex was so yuck. Made me cringe so I had to jump over pages, was just yuck and I hated it.

He goes pupping comes back after 6 month and the girl he had sex with , 6 month before walks into the bar and tells him she is pregnant. This in itself is not even that bad, a nice twist in the series, was I thinking even it does not fit in , ..BUT and here it comes:

He of course smells the kids are his and he tells her right away , so to say, he is a shifter and she thinks he has some screws loose because she has no idea shifters exist.. like that " meeting " is not really stupid , the conversation and all.. her water breaks . Wouldn`t you think he would get her to Dragon land right away.. and he is a prince also! I mean like there are no people out there trying to hunt and kill them and they are trying to keep their existence a secret right?

No, they call an ambulance! and he goes to hospital with her and she has the 2 kids there. Then he talks her over to go with him. I have no idea how this really happened, by that time my brain had shut down.

So they get there and she seemed to like it there right away.. and all he can think about is sucking some milk himself.. That is when I stopped reading.

Wouldn`t you think he right away taken her to safety, wouldn`t you think the king would be trying to rip his head off ... everyone ( his brother ) seemed like this is all normal every day procedure, it is normal they get humans pregnant and they get the kids in hospital and get taken to dragon land.. .. they just bring in humans like that .. no big deal. WTF?!

Man, I have no idea what the author was thinking.. I guess she was not thinking at all.
I really hoped for a good book , and that WAS NOT SO. This book sucks, the characters suck, the story sucks.

I liked the series the earth dragon books where not bad ( unlike the water dragon ones ) in my opinion. But this story .. hell no. Just skip it. That is what I would tell you if you would ask me. Skip this book it is not worth it, it does not fit in the series at all and the flat characters are just terrible.

Another excellent entry into the world of the dragon Bride Hunt series. I love these characters that Hartnady has created. Shale is a prince of the Earth Dragon realm. And a bit of a playboy. I do love me a redeemed playboy, and Georgia was just the human to do it. It was wonderful to see a playboy take his responsibilities seriously, and come to love his babies and his mate. Georgia, for her part, was a pretty strong woman, especially given how much pressure she was under.

Very satisfying to read and I highly recommend this book, and the entire Bride Hunt series in general.

Unborn baby unbeknownst is a dragon whelp.  But there is more....

The Earth Dragons are definitely a favorite of mine. The dragon shifters are so magnanimous when they encounter their mates. Mind you it's not just an easy meet and she's the one. There are many trial and errors. The main one being after the first night of meeting and having a night of hot and heavy, steamy sex the dragon shifter is forever taken by the human woman they met. This book is full of action and adventure, tears and very humorous situations.Georgia gets pregnant after hooking up with Shale whom she doesn't know is a Prince in his clan. Since it was only a first name meet, she doesn't know how to get a hold of Shale to let him know what happened. Her hardship is she knows she can't keep the baby because she can't afford to raise a child since she is taking care of her mother who is suffering from dementia and progressively getting worse. Georgia is pretty much living in poverty since she is paying for where her mother is being kept and medicines not covered by the insurance.
After almost a year Shale returns to Dakota Springs where he met Georgia. Though he can't remember her name he knew it was one of the states. He shows up back at the bar and Macy, Georgia's best best friend, sees him and reports back to her. So she knows she has to go and let him know. It is a hilarious meet when Georgia tracks him down at the bar because he sees her right away.
The whole journey begins and it takes you along with it. Both Georgia and Shale are characters you come to love but Shale really makes a great impression since he wanted to remain a player. But becomes committed to Georgia and the unborn babies. Shale has a twin, Sand, that you come to love too. What a great family they all make. You can't help but love the whole book.
Definitely recommend this book. Add it to your library of Charlene Hartnady books. A MUST read.

I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.

Nooooo it ended the way it did, I want to know more,

I pick this book up random, I was looking for something to read, while I was currently reading a book ( something I do a lot when a book doesn't hold my attention that well.) and was a happy that I did.

So the beginning of this book was truly something, between finding out how she got pregnant and than actually seeing her mom out of it. It was truly heart breaking, I really felt sad for her circumstances, to give up your child, having to choose between them and your mother. Just wow.

I did get upset with the Joyce's, ( the people looking to adopt her babies ) I get that they want to raise the baby as their own. But she clearly a fit mom just in the stick of things. She wants you guys to adopt her babies, but she still wants to be in contact. For you to just tell her no made me very upset. Its not like she's a breeding animal and your taking her litter of puppies or cat and she don't get to see them again.

That scene to me was just a eye opener, and made me very happy that they didn't end up with her babies, and she got to keep them in the end.

Another issue I have is how there was so much misunderstanding between Shale and Georgina. If both of you just say what you wanted in the beginning then none of these misunderstanding would happen.

I have to say that it took me a lot longer to read this book since It was kind of on the slow slide of things, between the two main characters. I do love the chemistry between the two, and the little bickering back and forth. But that's all it really have going for itself.

I ended up getting 2 more other books to read at the same time, esp since I know I was a chapter away from finishing the book. I wish this book was somewhat longer than what it was, I wish I could've seen more scenes with the family. Maybe some growth, but finding out that this is book 2 two this series, than maybe there will be growth in the next book.

I do plan on reading the other books in the series, since I started a lot later in the series with this book.

“Shit.” He put her down on the bed. “You are so fucking gorgeous, Iowa.”

I didn't think this book was bad, probably more like 3.5 stars, I didn't think it belonged on the same level has other books that I give 4 stars.  It was a good fast read in between other books, but after reading two short kind of okay books in a row I had to find something good FAST.

I think this book would have been a lot better if it was longer.  I know I say that a lot but it's hard to have a really good romance and love happen between two characters when it's a very short novel.

I liked the idea of the plot and now with it being a few days I can't even remember what bothered me so much about it, it was just kind of there. Most of the plot revolved around the babies, which is understandable but it left almost zero room for a relationship to happen between the parents. There wasn't much dragon seeming about the main male, I think there just wasn't much time.

I will try reading some more in this series, I started on the 3rd book but I thought dragon babies sounded fun and sweet. I mean really is there anything better than a hunky guy with a baby?

Shale walked back in, carrying the little one, who was calm against his daddy’s wide chest. The baby was tiny in Shale’s big hands. Right then, bare-chested with a baby, he could be on any calendar. Forget puppies, women everywhere would lap this up. Even Georgia, in her exhausted state, took notice.

Before I picked up this book I definitely thought that this book would be a bit different then how it ended up being. However Charlene Hartnady surprised me again with this book not only was it amazing but I loved the character build up along with the blatant honesty about the struggles that women go through during pregnancy. In addition, the author also adds some heated scenes between the two characters which was a nice read throughout the day. In fact I could never put this book down with all the juicy romance & drama all throughout the novel. In conclusion I love this book and many of the authors other books. Hartnady definitely takes ones insecurities and makes them into individual pieces of art which is displayed throughout all of her stories. From someone who has never been pregnant I definitely believe that this book opened my eyes on struggles that women go through along with some additional information about dragon shifters which I can definitely not complain about;) So if your looking for a series or book to read with :
- Hot sex
- Alpha males
- Strong women who stand up for themselves
then this is definitely the book for you!

I’m a sucker for these dragon shifters stories.
I do appreciate it is not insta-Love, it is rather fast paced in this domain but once the chemistry thing left behind, they had to get to know another. And it is each one’s personality whom will win the other.
I laughed at the state name contest!
Georgia has put her life on hold since she has to take care of her mother, two jobs are not even enough to cover the bills and put food on the table. Why one night to take her mind off looked to be not a bad idea, if not for the result, a single pregnancy with no one’s support.
Shale can’t seem to forget the red head he seduced six months ago so it is quite a chock when he sees her again, and worse, she is in the family way.
The first part when they rekindle was mixed with flashbacks of their first encounter then it shows how they settle in their role of parent.
There is not true angst, just miscommunications and unsaid things, so when they will be able to voice what they have in their heart, life will be much cleared.

I loved it!

Warning: mature sexual content, mature themes, and language.

It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This is book three of six in The Earth Dragons series.
(Set in the same world The Chosen Series)

Shale is blindsided by a pregnant female who claims the baby she is carrying is his. It is a distinct possibility, although he can't be sure, right then, if she is telling the truth. There are a couple of things this female doesn't know. Firstly, if he is the father, it is twins. Secondly, the infants won't be human. There is a third and even more worrying fact to consider. He needs to get to the bottom of this before it's too late. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. It’s a must read. I highly recommend to everyone.

Note: It does end on a cliffhanger.

Man doing teasing well! Lol I loved this book, the humor and the misunderstanding. The awkwardness of new parents and the crassness was so freaking enjoyable!!

Character breakdown;

Shale: I'm not going to lie, I honestly did not expect Shale to be the male he became. He stepped up hard for Georgia and his whelps! That was all the brownie points for him! And I loved his sense of humor!

Georgia aka Miss United States: redhead, with a** and sass! I loved her! She was amazing and strong she was also funny. I loved how easily she could find her own boost of confidence without realizing it.

Favorite Quote: "Who knew leaky mom boobs were just as good as sex toys? Make that better." Shale to Georgia.

Like always this was an amazing book! I loved the corckiness of Shale and Georgia. I especially enjoyed Shale's state naming game.

This book was low on angst but apparently the next one won't be. Girl quit playing with my emotions! Lol no, I'm kidding keep em coming!!!

This is the third book in the earth dragon series, and what a great addition it was!! I loved Georgia and Shale, and the surprising pregnancy! What started out as a one night stand turned into so much more. Georgia just wanted a break from her hectic life, and Shale was transfixed from the start. I felt so sad for Georgia and all she had to deal with. I was hooked from the first page, and I hated putting it down. I was back to the book as soon as I could, and it was easy to read in a day. I was surprised about the hospital, and I thought there would be more from that. And I'm still wondering how Georgia wound up pregnant! This was a great read, and the ending left me wanting the next book so bad! I don't know how I'll be able to wait until july! I highly recommend this book, the other books, and the next one!!!

Shale & Georgia’s story is the third in this Earth Dragons series. It could be read a a standalone but read the others to get to know this dragon shifter world.
Georgia is pregnant after a one night stand with sexy dragon shifter Shale. Her life is tough & it is just impossible for her to look after a child as well as deal with all her other responsibilities. Shale is unaware that he has fathered a child until he returns to the town.
This is a new twist to the dragon shifters as Georgia is already dealing with this alone & Shale has always been a “player” so will he step up?
Great storyline as ever from this author & I loved this book

Great storyline

Wonderfully different storylines. Each book is so refreshing in their concepts. Since I have read all three series, I am wondering about Rock and how much monogamy among shifters has been stressed. In the Bride Hunt series, Rock mated Quartz. Then in the Water Dragons series, he died during an encounter with the dragon slayers. I understand literary license and it being hard to remember names used many months before, but between the author and proofreaders, I would think someone would catch this. I really do enjoy your books Ms. Hartnady, but the proofreading/editing is starting to slip. We are paying more for your books now, so don't we deserve a quality product.

Dragon Whelps: Earth Dragons Series: Book 3
By Charlene Hartnady
Kindle unlimited purchase
Georgia is 6 months pregnant looking to give her baby a better life she decided to give it up for adoption. The couple she has chosen asked if the father was in the picture. Being that he was just a one-night stand she said no.
Shale is an earth dragon. He is a bar and a woman walks up to him and tells him that she is pregnant and the baby is his. She gives him her number and walks away.
This is a great plot. I'm enjoying this series. I'm wondering where this author has been hiding. I recommend reading ALL the books in this great world. Starting with the "The Bride Hunt Series (Dragon Shifter Novels)".

Hmmmm... maybe a 3.5, but not quite as good as the first 2 books.

Reckless is the best word to describe Shale. This character had some super sweet and extremely sexy moments, but his inability to dominate his thoughts and actions got on my nerves a bit. Kind of all over the board. Feels one way says something else kind of guy. However, he does step up for his "whelps", for Georgia, and her needs. But the lack of domination was disappointing.

Georgia so far is the most relatable character in the series. The issues she is dealing with are common. If you haven't dealt with it you most certainly know someone who has. For me she made this book far better than Shale.

Continuing with the series...this one left on a cliff hanger *gasp*

Happy Reading! DD

I loved this book! The angle, Charlene Hartnady, took the storyline was great! She has you frustrated with both Shale and Georgia the entire book! I wanted to shake the characters because they are stubborn.

I love how dirty minded Shale is and that he has no filter when it comes to talking to Georgia! I think that Charlene endears us to Shale with having an inside joke running throughout the story!

I would highly recommend this book! It is so much fun and in typical recent fashion Charlene leaves us hanging when it comes to interesting secondary characters at the end! Wanna know more....Go get it and read it now!

Shale grows up fast

Cover of this book is just fantastic. Shale did what every woman would want a baby daddy to do plus more. Georgia have me major anxiety over all of her crap. Some of the stuff during the labor was just wrong. Ice chips not water is what you get when you are in labor. She started with water and finally had ice chips but it kind of bothered me. Also what woman wants sex a day after giving birth. I wanted to smack that old healer and tell her to get real. I still loved the story. Bringing her mom to the lair was priceless. I kind of wished Mountain had been there to give Shale some much did crap like Sand was doing. Disappointed Ohio got missed. Lol

Really great read

This was yet again another great story. It was really sweet and really descriptive. I really enjoyed the character build up and I really enjoyed reading the characters ways of thinking. Shale seems a little all over the place which turned out to be a pretty good thing at first but then he got reeled in and the next thing you know his life got interesting. Georgia's life was interesting from jump and I really enjoyed her character build up. Granted she was a really self-loathing person but also a very caring person. This is a great story and I highly recommend this book!

okay

This is the first book in this series that I really didn’t like the heroine. I just couldn’t stand her attitude and negativity. Also hated how much she judged shale. I wish there would of been more connection between the couple as well like I thought earth dragons had to be mated in order to be fertile? Obviously I’m guessing they were mated since there first time but it was never verified also didn’t really seem like either character really cared if they saw each other again. Just didn’t seem like they cared either way. Wasn’t a great read to me hopefully the next one is better

I really loved seeing this side of Shale. In spite of being so determined not to be tied down his instincts kick in and he cannot help assuming the role of protector for Georgia. Georgia is a superwoman in her own right with all the responsibility that she has taken on and Shale always seems to enter the scene just when she needs him the most, whether she knows it or not. I loved his sense of humor. And unlike some of the other dragons, his character is particular seemed very familiar with common human terminology and trends.

Soo good!!!

I loved Shale and Georgia’s story so much!!! It was nice and sweet and calmer than the last few books! So it was so nice to go away from the angst and the hunters for a bit and just have a loving story again! Shale and Georgia were perfect for each other and I’m so glad they found one another. They have two gorgeous whelps to look after and they do it so naturally! Now I’m just anxious to find out more about Sand and Macy and how they get out of their messy situation! I love this series and this world so much!

Over all I really enjoyed the book.
It's a different book than the books before not so much action. A more relaxed kind of book. The beginning of the book was a bit hard to get into for me. After that I had a lot of fun Shale is a funny kind guy. The next book that is coming were we do get a little of a peek into got me really excited and interested. Hope it will come soon.

More Earth Dragons stat
I really enjoyed this book. Shale and Georgia's story was unique and heart-warming. Georgia is a strong woman working two jobs to pay for her mom's healthcare. She had a one night stand with Shale and ended up pregnant. When she sees Shale he tries to tell her that he is a shifter and that she is having two babies. She thinks that he is crazy but when she goes into labor things quickly change. I loved this story and I am so excited for the Sand's book.
