Full of sketches of his ideas for earth-sheltered houses, Malcolm Wells takes the reader through his ideas and thoughts on them. His words are in his own handwriting, and his character comes through, making it feel as though he is actually there next to you, talking about it. I also appreciate that he is self-deprecating, and able to admit flaws, something many architects struggle at!

Font choice was terrible - it was like borrowing notes from a stranger and having to figure out their handwriting. Drawings weren't clear and the entire book just wandered around the topic of various designs, including ones with flaws. Not at all what I was expecting.
