What if cheat-codes worked in real life?
Something an introverted teenage gamer, pursued across New York throughout a mind-bending near-death experience, must get to grips with, if he's to survive and defeat the gang that left him for dead.
“No way! Everyone is Elvis...”
As if Bennie Locke, an introverted teenage gamer, needed any more proof that the cheat-pack strapped to his wrist worked – if it wasn't for the “Extra Life” cheat, he’d be dead by now.
A fate which still awaits, unless he can use the cheats to stay one step ahead of Agents sent to enforce the natural laws he perverts... long enough to find an unnamed Contact somewhere in New York, with “he reminds me of you, but older, stronger" and "follow the Metropolitan Line" his only clues.
But hormones doing his thinking, Bennie blows the “Stealth” cheat going for Lia, the girl who’s "always been there" for him and the reason he got himself stabbed in the first place. So when the cheat is blocked and they're cornered by Lia’s gang-leader boyfriend and worse, the Agents, Bennie has to start using the cheats wisely...
...and hope Lia wants to come along for the ride...
