A lovely, lovely story written kindly and beautifully!

I loved Kya's logic, creativity, and courage of surviving in "her wilderness." She endured a life of loneliness, loss, and deceit, but always her boat and creatures were her comfort. Although difficult, she ignored the ugliness and prejudice heaped on her as the Marsh Girl. Aya rose above it all with her gentleness, courage, and knowledge. The enfusion of poetry with the narrative was quite lovely and telling!

From the cover design, I thought this book would be a sweet romance book, but there is spice of suspense and the mystery of the murder turn out.

Kya Clark, a beautiful little girl who grew up in the swamp alone. Left behind by her mother and siblings. Her intelligence allow her to survive. Her heart is fragile and misses social life and family. But the people in the city rejected her presence and considered her a wild and Stupid girl.
Interesting book to spend your weekend !

This book have impressive story!!

This book drew me in… it took me so long to start it but once I was past the first chapter i couldn’t “put it down” )I was listening to the audiobook)
The character development was so well written, I am in awe of the author. She didn’t forget the characters origins, she understood the complexities of the character and didn’t undermine their growth for the sake of a romance plot line
I really loved this and al looking forward to reading more from this author.

I had read the book..

But needed a refresher. This summary followed and highlighted the book faithfully. The book is totally worth taking the time to read as the writing is gifted and so evocative of the setting and Kya’s feelings, but this summary would work well to be able to contribute in a reading group.

Satifing

Now know the whole story and can discuss it with those who have read the novel. Also did not need the parts where children were abused in detail

The Reader's Digest Version!

This is a very good condensed version of the novel that can get you through a Book Club meeting if you are pressed for time. Personally when I finished this I had spent plenty of time time in the Marsh and elected not to read the complete book!
