I have read every single novel these two ladies have written together and so far I have enjoyed them all. That includes this particular book and so I can only hope that they will keep em coming, so I can keep on reading ;)

keep em coming gif] - Google zoeken

This is the seventh book in the series and this time we get to read about Daniel, Ward Security's very own accountant. Now I am gonna be honest here and admit that I had no idea who Daniel was when I started this book. I guess I haven't been paying enough attention because I am sure he was mentioned somewhere before. But with all my favorite hotties around, I guess I must have missed him... my bad...

my bad gif] - Google zoeken

Those of you who are into the whole "nerd" and the "badass" theme...are in for a treat! Nerdy Daniel is about to stumble upon his very own "secret agent man" when a case of mistaken identity leads Edward right to his lounger in Bermuda. Of course, he doesn't know who Edward really is when he meets him. All he knows is that he wants to climb him like a tree....which he does 7e6c22cc4c29adb0f4a619d0806b71f1

secret agent man gif - Google zoeken

There is no denying the instant chemistry between these two, even though Edward likes to pretend he is only doing "his job". Pretty soon they are neck deep in trouble and they need each other to make it to safe ground.

This book is full of fun, action, steam and sweetness and we even get a short little cameo with some of my favorites

Now as much as I enjoyed this one, I have got to admit that I just wanted a bit more. I wanted to know more about Daniel and Edward personally. I know I am greedy but once a couple's story is finished in this series, we don't get much more info about them anymore. So this is all there is.

I want more gif - Google zoeken

I wish that some of the books in this series would be longer. I miss really getting to know the characters like I did in "The Unbreakable Bonds" series. Those guys really started to feel like family and I guess that is something I don't feel when reading this series. That doesn't go for all books though, Geoffrey, whom I feel I know a tad bit more, is definitely an exception. But I guess that is because he does make several appearances in both series...and that's the way I really like it ;)

So I guess it's time for an Unbreakable re-read huh...Who am I kidding, it's always time for a Hollis and Ian re-read :P

If you're a fan of steamy and suspenseful gay romance, I highly recommend this series ;)

4 Stars!

I really enjoy these ladies writing and I have really been enjoying their new series. This one was just as fun and sexy and action packed as the ones before it. Its a plus that the series has a had a steady stream of good books.

This one definitely sets itself apart from the ones before. This time we got our Ward Security accountant getting some action. Literally. And it comes from around the world while he's in Bermuda on vacation. A hot CIA agent has mistaken him for a man who is known to be a traitor to his country. From here action consumes the pages.

There isn't a dull moment in the story. It was action packed and fast paced. We traveled all over for this story and I enjoyed every moment of it. So why not 5 stars? It took me a minute to believe in the connection these men were having. I got there, but it took some time.

I can't wait to see who these women choose next for this series.

Happy reading dolls! xx

I felt pretty 'meh' about this one.

~Killer Bond felt really disconnected from the rest of the series
~ I don't remember Daniel at all from the previous books
~Daniel ran hot & cold for half the book & that is a pet peeve of mine

Another five star romp through the adventure catalogue with this spy entry in the Ward Security series.

I know I keep saying it, but these books would make brilliant TV and this one's no exception as it trips around the world from Bermuda to mainland Europe.

Abe and Dom remain my favourite pairing from the Ward boys but I have to say Daniel and his CIA agent came close to lifting the crown.

The pacing is superb, the plot an interesting one which certainly wouldn't be out of place as a James Bond and the two men have an amazing connection which leaps from the page.

Reading Killer Bond was such an adventure it was like being in Mission impossible.

I am not going into the shenanigans that Daniel and Edward got up to through Europe, that would spoil this thrill ride.

It might be a case of mistaken identity and they are strangers but it is lust at first sight they cannot keep their hands or mouths off each other which was scorching.

I loved this adventure and I loved quiet numbers geek Daniel and the secretive Edward, it has a different feel to the rest of the books in this series and at one point my jaw hit the ground OMG NOOO.

Jocelyn and Rinda together are UNSTOPPABLE, I cannot wait for their next adventure.

4 Stars! 😍💕Loved it! This one was definitely quite different from the other “Ward Security” books. Dan had a very small role in the previous books, so as a reader we didn’t know anything about him which was good actually since we didn't have any pre-conceived notions 😁. And the story did not waste any time starting right in the first chapter when Dan meets Edward (CIA agent assigned to kill another agent who is Dan’s doppelgänger) in the Caribbean Islands🏖 and decides to have a vacation fling... (HOTNESS ALERT!!..😳🔥🔥) The casual vacation fling becomes dangerous very quickly when they are both kidnapped by an outside agency who had made the same mistake as Edward 😳. While Edward reels from the realization that Dan is actually an innocent man caught in the middle of this dangerous spy game, things become even more complicated, when some rogue agency starts chasing them. The escape for their lives takes them from the Caribbean to Spain to France while they try to find clues to resolve their situation, so Dan can finally go home. However, finding out that Edward had been lying to him, Dan has difficulty trusting him. But as they dodge their enemies while trying to safeguard the information, which in enemy hands would hurt the US; Dan and Edward start to form a fragile bond. This bond is put to test over and over again by the constant threat to their lives. But can this temporary bond stand the ultimate test of betrayal? Can Dan trust Edward to keep him safe? What future can they hope to have with so many secrets between them? What will Edward choose; Country or Love?
This is a high action thrill ride with a James-Bond-trope going on😎. Although I wish there was more depth of character, analysis and development, the chemistry between the MCs, the fast pace and thrilling plot overcome those pitfalls🤩. Highly recommended to all fans looking for a low-angst thrill ride. 👍👍

***** Fantastic ! Killer Bond, Ward Security Bk 5.
The super quiet life of an accountant changes forever. While on vacation in the Bahamas for a well deserved break, Daniel is placed in the middle of a covert operation, international style. CIA agent, big, black haired, powerful Edward, has captivated Daniel on the beach, and meet up for dinner.

Before 24 hours is up, Daniel is a target, running for his life. Edward and Daniel have snappy, sassy banter, incindiary sparks in bed, and both want more. Problem; they are on the run, hiding out, bullets are flying, and more.

Their sexy times are a carnal extravaganza.

I've loved this whole series, the men, the situations, action and awesome sexy times. The Unbreakable bonds series is a favorite, too. We hear from a few of the men, and we are reminded of Angelo, who is from Royce's story, Deadly Dorian.

These authors keep it fresh and fiercely entertaining !
Highly recommended. ENJOY !

4.5 Killer Stars!

Okay, I'll address the main thing that made me take .5 stars off and might frustrate people more than it did me. I don't know if it's entirely realistic or not that Daniel, a civilian, would be allowed to be used in a CIA op, even if they were accidentally involved in one before and looked a lot like the person they're trying to take down and get info from as well. Like of course I'm absolutely no expert, but would the CIA really put a civilian willingly in danger like that? I don't feel like they would - unless they're assholes or shady or somehow get permission from the Director of the freaking CIA themself or something.

Anyway, that was really my only main issue with this book, and while I think for some it just might be too unbelievable or unrealistic for them to truly enjoy this, I have to say in the end I didn't mind too much. Because it's fun and entertaining and at the end of the day I'm here for the romance above all else, so a fun - if not exactly realistic - plot to go with the romance is always a plus but a realism is not always needed for me - unless it goes wayyy into super unrealistic territory or the unrealistic elements aren't handled well, etc etc...

So in the end I didn't let it bother me too much and just enjoyed Daniel and Edward (not his real name , although we get that at the end, but for the sake of keeping the names straight, I'll just use Edward, which he uses for the majority of this book.) falling in love with each other.

We saw Daniel a time or two in the previous books, but overall he hasn't been a huge character before this book. But we open this one with Daniel taking a vacation in Bermuda, intending to relax for two or so weeks on the beach, reading books, exploring and so on. But then a hot, sexy guy sits next to him and suddenly getting laid is in his plans too.

But then it turns out that said man is a CIA spy who was sent to seduce a rogue agent who has betrayed the CIA and need info on what he's selling to other countries - whether that's seduce him sexually or get it out of him another way - and since Daniel looks almost exactly like said agent...Edward gets him mixed up, and he sees Daniel's sweetness and kindness as a really good act, and he's acting as well, although he can't stop the attraction he feels for Daniel no matter how much he tells himself that Daniel is supposedly a rogue agent selling CIA secrets, so...

But when it comes out that Daniel is not the agent and also that Edward is a CIA agent that was (mostly) pretending with Daniel, things aren't all hunky dory for a while.

But because Edward's handler wants to use Daniel, and Daniel wants to keep people safe (because the thing the agent was selling was a list of CIA agents) because he's a good person, and also the buyers still think the agent is alive and that Daniel is that agent because he looks so much like him, so...they're kinda stuck with each for the time being.

And Daniel isn't happy because he's hurt about Edward playing him, and Edward keeps trying to act like it doesn't mean anything between them - although he definitely doesn't say no to sex, which of course Daniel doesn't resist for long.

I thought at first the sex wasn't that exciting or that hot, but then it really got good as they got to know each other, so I think just at first when they didn't know each other, the connection wasn't quite there so I wasn't feeling much between them during the sex scenes, but once feelings were involved I did, and I really enjoyed their sex scenes then. Super hot ;)

I like where this ended, even if I would have liked a little more just so I could see them together together (it ends with them officially getting together, so) in a relationship, but I'm sure we'll see glimpses in the next book (if there is one....I hope there is) so I'm not too pressed about it. They got their HEA so in the end that's good enough for me. Plus they were just so great together that I was happy seeing them become happy.

So overall I really enjoyed this, and it was fun and entertaining, with great MC's that made a great couple. Two thumbs up from me! <3

So this wasn’t my favorite in the series, contrary to many reviews. I found this one a little harder to read and I was pushing at times. Maybe it was just bad timing ! I love these books and look forward to the next... let’s see how I connect

This was so good guys! I really, really, really liked this one! I wasn’t sure friends. I had no idea how a story about Ward Security’s accountant was going to fit in but it totally surpassed fitting in. This was awesome. Really.

I honestly just loved the flow of this. The pacing was spot on and just kept me turning the pages and I did not want to put it down. It was very exciting. The locations were like another character in the book, and the connection, the romance, the love, well yeah, it was fun and hot and sweet and worth mentioning again, hot.

This series has been up and down for me but this was maybe the best yet.

And that end? Yeah. Loved it!

I've read most of the books the duo have written and I'm glad I got to read this as well. It was one of things that I didn't know they were writing until they did and I couldn't turn that down.

I like how action packed their stories seem to be and I enjoyed reading about Daniel and Edward. Along with their story. It was a light read filled with lots of action.

I really can’t remember Daniel from the previous books but he was an excellent character for this one. Mistaken identity has Edward hitting on him, on the beach in Bermuda, and their chemistry is incendiary. When Daniel discovers the real reason for Edward’s come-on, then the UST takes over. It’s a whirlwind adventure, spiced with plenty of action, bullets and car chases. Ward security has no part in this book, aside from phone conversations. There’s a cameo appearance from a side character in book 3, whom I’m sure will turn up again. This is the kind of lusty, over the top escapades this author duo writes so well. The culmination of the action plot and the ending felt a little bit shaky but had little impact on my enjoyment of the story.

A Joyfully Jay review.

4.25 stars

Killer Bond is the fifth book in the Ward Security series and it is my favorite one so far. This book has a bit of a different tone than the others, which are more bodyguard/security focused and take place primarily in and around Ward Security. With Killer Bond, we get more of a standalone spy thriller as Daniel and Edward travel the world trying to stay one step ahead of the bad guys. As the title suggest, there is a bit of a James Bond-vibe here, and honestly, I could totally see this book as a movie. There are dangerous chases scenes, beautiful cities, mistaken identity, and, of course, romance.

I particularly loved the early part of the book as the guys meet when Edward thinks Daniel is his rogue agent. Things are immediately incendiary between them and suddenly Daniel is thrust into the middle of this case as everyone, including the bad guys, thinks he is the agent. It is incredibly exciting and thrilling as Edward and Daniel fight to stay one step ahead of their adversaries.

Definitely not my favorite in the series. Something was missing or off or just not there... I don't really know but I couldn't connect with the MC's...

This book has most definitely been my favourite of the series! From the first page it was exciting, fun, sexy, suspenseful, and action-packed! I couldn't put this down. I hope there will be more books set in this world. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to readers who enjoy m/m romantic suspense. This works totally fine as a standalone, but be warned you'll immediately want to go back to the start of the series because it is that good!

All reviews are voluntary and my honest opinion.

Rinda and Elliott are back with a new Ward Security book.

Daniel is finally on vacation.

He feels a little overwhelmed at Ward. All the guys are huge towering monoliths, and he's a slight computer guy. He's quiet and shy. Yes, he does have FBI training. Yes, Rowe Ward did seek him out personally. But Daniel feels boring, even his best friend Quinn is fitting in better than he is lately.

Secret Agent Edward, of Langley Falls is not on vacation, but he knows when he's spotted a prize, right? The guy reading in the chair next to him is super cute. He also has a fantastic butt. He's just who Edward is looking for...

I still think the main Unbreakable books outshine the Ward series, the exception being Royce's book. But that's not to say the Ward books are a letdown, but more that the Unbreakable books are exceptional.

I want a little more meat with my potatoes. My favorite scenes involve cameos from other characters. I think what makes the Unbreakable books so good is the ensemble of characters who have each other's backs, who are constantly orbiting each other -- even if they aren't the primary characters in the novel. The Ward Security books lack that intricacy on some level. They're still fun books, and I enjoyed the spy romp with "Edward" and Daniel, but I wanted a bit more.

(The new cover art on Killer Bond is gorgous.)

This was a mixed bag. The mystery/spy plot was great, a bit OTT but good and engaging. The romance though left me wanting. Daniel is mistaken for a rogue agent by CIA spy Edward. Once the mistake is discovered there was room for a great enemies to lover plot but that's not really what we got. Daniel ran hot and cold, at first it was reasonable but the hot part came too easily. Same for the love, too rushed. As well as the ending was, too rushed for me (on the romance front only). Also, as with previous installment, too much sex and the MCs were sometimes thinking in circles and it got repetitive. Final complaint, that is recurring throughout: where is the sense of found family. It was a bit present when Daniel kept Quinn updated on what was going on but that wasn't enough for me. All in all, not a bad book just meh.

The 5th book in this series is about Ward Security's accountant, Daniel Hendricks.
I could not remember Daniel being mentioned in the other books, and the lack of any of the members of the Ward family, makes this book really the most stand-alone book.

The story of Daniel & Edward is a fast paced spy story with a number of gun-blazing spies, high-speed car chasing and hot sexy times.
I had trouble connecting to these characters, especially Edward. Not once did he wanted his name on Daniel's lips, not even in the throw of passion. It wasn't until the last pages that Daniel learns his real name.

Sadly, this was somewhat of a miss for me.

Part of the Ward Security Series that is best enjoyed when read in order:
Psycho Romeo (Ward Security, #1) by Jocelynn Drake Dantès Unglued (Ward Security, #2) by Jocelynn Drake Deadly Dorian (Ward Security, #3) by Jocelynn Drake Jackson (Ward Security, #3.5) by Jocelynn Drake Sadistic Sherlock (Ward Security, #4) by Jocelynn Drake King of Romance (Ward Security #4.5) by Jocelynn Drake Killer Bond (Ward Security #5) by Jocelynn Drake Seth (Ward Security #5.5) by Jocelynn Drake

Ward Security is a new spin-off series from the Unbreakable Bonds Series, and can be read as stand-alone series.

I swear, every new one of these books, they convince me they're my favorite.

I don’t think anyone will top Rowe and Noah, or maybe Lucas and Andrei… Mmmkay, nevermind, I can’t pick.

So, in this one we have Ward Security accountant, former FBI-guy, Daniel, vacationing in Barcelona. With a head for numbers and a quieter job than the rest of the guys at Ward, he didn’t really feel like he fit in; so he needed some time away. Sitting on the beach with a good book and a cocktail, he’s surprised when a very charming and good looking man sits next to him and chats him up. Normally shy and more reserved than the other guys, I liked how confident and flirty he seemed with Edward, even if he was still a little shy.

And Edward, who was supposed to be in telecommunications, turns out to be a secret CIA agent with a job to do and mistakes Daniel for someone else, he figures he’ll do whatever he needs to do to get what he needs from Daniel; even if it means seducing him.

Edward, even though he’s kind of a bad guy disguised good guy… I found him incredibly charming, even when he talked about seducing and probably killing Daniel when he was done with him. Their connection was immediate, and even though he tried to keep his distance from him, it proved pretty impossible because Daniel was equally as charming.

When described like a Bond movie, that’s exactly what this was. I was flipping pages almost faster than I could read them. Every time I thought that the danger was over, they were thrust back into it, and I want to explain it all so you’ll see how amazing and heart-pounding this is, but you just need to experience it for yourself.

Also, if you haven’t read the other ones in this series, what is wrong with you?! Stop what you’re doing and go do it! You’ll find yourself fighting over favorites like I do, I guarantee it!

As much fun as the adventure, the site-seeing, the danger and the getting to know each other was with these two, my heart kind of broke a couple of times for Daniel, because he fell for Edward so quickly, and even though Edward was a little bit better at hiding it, he’d fallen for Daniel too. He was actually really sweet and though dangerous and quite deadly… he was protective and possessive and everything we all love from these guys!

There were twists and expectations that I had that turned out to be completely wrong, which I was glad about because in every story I’ve ever read, the ‘handler’ turns out to be a bad guy. I was waiting for that. And just when you think that everything’s over… it turns out to be just the beginning for these two. I was really disappointed by the end. I hadn’t been paying attention and I wanted about 10 more chapters, just cuz!

Overall though, I love this series…. It’s a frequent go-to for me and I love every single couple and every mini-movie that each story feels like. I can’t wait to see who’s next, and I hope to see more of these two in the future…

5 well deserved stars from me

Jocelynn Drake and Rinda Elliott are one of my favorite writing duos ever, and Killer Bond is another example of why. This book has all the hallmarks of one of their stories: fantastic, layered, realistically flawed characters you can’t help but root for; sexy times that will make your kindle melt; plenty of action and suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat; an exciting, fast-paced plot that balances the romance well and will keep you glued to the pages until you finish... and some of our favorites from earlier books in this series as well as the Unbreakable Bonds series showing up! Daniel and Edward kept my attention from start to finish (really, I read it in one sitting). The various settings in this book are rich in history and culture, and Drake and Elliott let that shine through in between the car chases, running, gunfire, sexy times, and assassination attempts. Overall a well-balanced, exciting, sexy story with writing that flows easily.. definitely five stars from this reader.

Oh come on, you know you want to read it now. ;)

Ooh this could be my top fav from the series just yet. Its quite different from the previous book and just so much fun. Daniel is a forensic accountant with a teeny bit of FBI experience and is working with Ward Securities. I love my MC a bit of a book nerd and Daniel definitely cross that off my list. As an accountant, I can totally relate that sometime you just want to spend the days away from all the numbers and indulge in some reading by the beach. That was what Daniel wanted and Edward, that hot and sexy hunk was the cherry on top. But then, he wasn't that cherry on top. He was the strawberry syrup that runs your ice cream and made you lick everything in panic. And the relaxing vacation Daniel had in mind just got thrown off the window.

Sooooo gut!

As a stand-alone it was alright. Mistaken identity action hero stuff. As a part of the series I was disappointed. There was little connection to the Ward security guys apart from Quinn and the ending. I miss the code names and hastily put together missions. Plenty of sex. The part I did like was Angelo appearing. Other than that it didn’t stand out for me.

Once again another fantastic book in this series. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time. It's got car chases, explosions, kidnappings, and mystery. Definitely a must read

I loved the action and fast pace, but I wanted more of a swoony HEA epilogue!
