"If I was Superman, Jenna was my Kryptonite."
description

Savage is the first book in the London Mob Series and when it comes to action, steam, and romance it delivers one powerful punch! Warning...once you start this series you won't be able to stop! Farrell Black is one mob man who knows how to please!

description
"Mine, Jenna. You'll always be mine."
Jenna and Farrell are complete opposites who met shortly after Jenna finished her studies at university. Farrell is a street fighter and an up-and-comer in the London Mob. Jenna is a "nice" girl who is undoubtedly taken by Farrell and yet, she is hesitant about having a future with him due to his life in crime. Jenna finds herself caught between her desire to be with Farrell and her desire to protect herself from a life of crime. In the end, she decides to leave Farrell and starts a new life in New York.
"I wasn't breathing without you, Jenna."
When Jenna returns to London to attend her father's funeral, she is thrown back into Farrell's life. The old flame is ignited and the two begin again. And yet, Jenna and Farrell have so many secrets between them. Will their love be enough?
"He struggled to maintain control. To take his time when he wanted to ravage. To consume. To seize."
Told in dual POV, Savage is full of action and intrigue. The pacing is fast and the characters are quite unique. The plot offers a generous amount of intrigue and paired with the passionate connection between Jenna and Farrell it kept me glued to the pages the entire read.

Overall, I highly recommend Savage for a quick mafia romance read! Just be warned...you will need to have Primal downloaded and ready to read on your KINDLE!

Cliffhanger

Firstly I didn't read any reviews for this book which is unusual for me but I was reading another book which wasn't working so I switched to the next one down which was this one.
The title caught my attention first since I'm British and we don't get a lot of British mob books but as it turns out this wasn't a British book and I'm left wondering why on earth it was set over here in the first place.
For example Farrell Black is British he pays money to a British hospital so why would he pay in dollars?
Jenna is British and wants a white picket fence that's as American as it gets and is not a British thing at all and Heathrow airport, you don't meet passengers in the baggage claim and on and on so many mistakes.
I am picky?
Yes I am but why set this book in a country you obviously know nothing about it's annoying had this been set in America it would have worked so much better.
Despite the above I read until the end and it ends on a cliffhanger which I didn't expect but would have known if I'd read the reviews.

I'm so annoyed with this book, it goes without saying I won't be continuing on with this series.

4 "savage and eternal" stars

Jenna Carver met him five years ago. While she was fresh out of college in search for a job. He swept her off her feet, made her wild in spirit, wild passionate and very much in love.

Farrell Black.
Crime lord. Genius. Lover.

When two blue lines appeared on a stick, it was a life altering decision for Jenna. She wanted safe For her, for future. And in his line of work, there was no safety, there was no future. Cause she believed he wouldn't change for her.
He didn't believe in the rule of law. He was a criminal. He would always be a criminal. According to him, there would alway be people who didnt play by the rules.

So she leaves him.

Five years later, a grieving event brings Jenna back home. And she has to face the past, face him. All the memories come flashing back and the meeting between them is like a lightning straight through her heart. Like nothing never happened, like there was never any distance between them.

But she still carries a secret and she still hides it from him. When certain suspicious events occur involving her deceased father, she's turns to Farrell for help. And there's no mistake that they still hold the flame for each other, but do they have what it takes to make it? Are they willing to give it a try?

When the truths are revealed, secrets discovered and another lie pushes up the surfice endangering their lives again and sets them into the race against guns and secret agenda in a bigger ploy beyond their grasp...the old fears come crawling back to Jenna, and they are even worse now, cause there are more lives as stake, and she needs to protect even of it means staying away from the man she loves, from the man she has ever loved. She finds herself at the crossroads in making a heartbreaking move, once again...
Stay. Stay with me.

Will she? Stay?!
cause the stakes are high and there are always risks...
But that was love: the bone-deep vulnerability that came with having something precious to lose.

The answers are written in book 2 of the London mob series called, Primal, so that's where my eyes are drifting towards right now.

Fast paced, thrilling and exciting mixture of romance filled with action, crime, danger and suspense...just a little bit of everything for everyone to find satisfaction while reading.

BR with my shhluty sista Lizzie! *wink*

Could have been better. Plus a little spoiler.

This book could have been better. It's hard for me to really get into this book especially since I couldn't connect to the characters at all. I'm not sure if it's because I haven't read the series before this one or it's because of too many pet peeves of mine being in this.

The heroine moved away from the heroine the second she found out she was pregnant because apparently she didn't think the Hero was good enough for her daughter. Which is, fine, I respect that but to withhold his daughter's existence from the Hero for 4 years and adamantly refused to come clean after all those years? That's just selfish.

Most of her inner monologue are her basically saying how she always have to be the responsible one, how it hinders her ability to think of her well-being, emotionally. That's ironic because she has been selfish for four years.

Also, while this didn't bother that much, it might bother others so if you have any problem with the Hero sleeping around for years (while claiming he was in love with the heroine) while the heroine stays celibate for those years then this book isn't for you.

The heart of a lion. The body of a god. The tanacity of a bull. Farrell is the BOSS of the London mob. Kudos to Michelle proving without a doubt mobsters can exist anywhere!!! Can you imagine a sexy, powerfully built, 6'3 ALPHA man uttering sexy words in your ear in that beautiful British accent? He protects his own, will lay down his life to protect his life mate, and promise to fulfill every promise made. If only his woman would believe in him.....

Jenna is a confused woman! And she's keeping secrets! A few times I wanted to literally jump in the story and slap some sense into her for her rash decisions! However, her decisions kept the drama in the story going but man those decisions annihilate Farrell!

Lots of big wigs, high power high profile evil men are in pursuit of Jenna and guess who's the only man powerful enough to help her? Well yeah......

Savage is filled to the brim with Mafia wars, intrigue, romance, and just plain good stuff!! Five stars for Farrell and Jenna! I absolutely ADORE this story!

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Michelle has done it again with this series. I really could not stop turning page after page just NEEDING to know what happens next.

We met both Jenna Carver and Farrell Black in the previous series with Nico and Angel, however at the time they were both on different continents.

Jenna however goes back home to England for her fathers funeral and bumps into Farrell again, the father of her daughter Lily, a daughter Farrell knows nothing about.

You certainly feel the tension between the two and the attraction that keeps them coming back for more, and you really feel for both of them as Jenna decides what she is going to do.

Farrell helps her anyway he can with the mystery of her father, only to show her what she was afraid of right from the beginning. But both Farrell and Jenna know that there will never be anyone else for them like each other no matter what happens.

Jenna just has to find the place she wants between her head and her heart.

Really can't wait to find out what happens next.

Ok Michelle St. James has done it again, this book was fabulous. I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. Farrell Black is just perfect, totally take charge, harden, but totally in love with Jenna that no other woman is going to do. Jenna is scared of the dangers that come with Farrell's job but when she needs to not only protect herself but another she makes the heart wrenching decission of leaving Farrell. Five years later fate forces them together again, and the heat betweenthem burns even hotter than it did five years earlier. Such a great read, need book two like now.

Michelle St. James definitely knows how to write Mafia books with a little modern twist.
I read this book early this year and decided to do a re-read since all the books (3) from the London Mob are out.
The story flows effortlessly, you'll be able to get in to the story rather easily, and all the characters are really likable.
Can't wait to finally start the second one.
Happy reading guys! Xx
Ps. Farrell is MINE (I know, I know, all the guys are mine. What did you expect I'm a book whore)

It was Savage alright...

Jenna is fresh out of college when she meets Farrell at pub and the chemistry between them is off the charts. She knew about his job from the beginning but getting pregnant makes her think twice so she leaves a note for him and disappears so her child would be safe from his world. But five years later her father passes away and it brings Jenna home where a reunion between the two is inevitable and Jenna has a secret she's trying to hide, which is their four year old daughter Lily.

What happens next is a ride between the two that you never want to end. This was a good read with some amazing smut and some mafia action you can't get enough of. I loved the chemistry and sexual attraction between Jenna and Farrell. They still love each other and can't get enough but Jenna lets her head get in the way of her heart.

But as the saying goes... "The heart wants what the heart wants!"

Definitely a good first book in the Savage King series. I love me a good mafia book with action, a sexy hero asshole, a beautiful heroine, and some smut! Looking forward to book 2.

I could not put this book down. I was looking for a bad boy read and this book caught my attention. Ms. St. James did not disappoint. Farrell is the kind of man who can scare you and give you shivers at the same time. I loved the intense connection between Jenna and Farrell; their heat set my Kindle on fire! Well done.

Michelle St. James has done it again. Farrell Black is one in charge, sexy, hot, dangerous man. Jenna Carver had no clue how much her life would be turned up side down just by falling in love with Farrell. Five years later when they see each other again......sparks are still flowing strong between them. This is a fast paced danger filed loved story. I can't wait for the next book to find out how this all turns out.

An ok story. It was too slow in the beginning. Also didn't like that the h smoked weed with her daughter in the house. Plus, the h's mother is an alcoholic but that doesn't stop the h from keeping alcohol in the house and drinking it. I wanted more interactions with the H and the first sex scene happens late into the story. The suspense ramps up once the couple get to together but the story isn't good enough for me to care about these characters.

Fearless

One hot couple that are destine to be together but faith stepped in when Jenna ran from Farrell when she found out she was pregnant. Four years later she came back to town when her father was murdered. Only turning to the one man she ran from to ask for his help . Later Farrell founds out he has a daughter (lily) that Jenna has keep hide from him ... There world is turned upside down one more time ... But can love win out or the fear of what Farrell does ?

2.5 to 3.0 Stars!
First, let me point out what I liked:
-Dual POV
-second chance romance
-Lily was adorable
-Kate, the sister was refreshing in comparison to Jenna, the FMC. She was keen on breaking the codependency that she grew up in whereas the FMC was still so caught up in cleaning up other peoples business.
-the action + mafia story
-the MC - he knew what he wanted + just went for it.
-the plot that involved the biohazard story + Jenna's father's involvement.
-Leo was mysterious + he fascinated me more.
-Lily was adorable + the story picked up when Farrell interacted with his daughter - those moments were so damn sweet!

What I did not like:
-In all honesty, it was just the FMC, Jenna. I found her incredibly annoying + honestly stupid.
She left the MC because she was afraid of his lifestyle when she was pregnant but she was ok fucking him when she came back into his life? Ok that totally makes god damn sense.
-Secondly, when she moved to NY, she ended up working for a man who was still in the mafia even though she worked the "legal" side of it. Another level of hypocrisy in my opinion.
-The FMC acting like being around Farrell was dangerous for her and Lily however, who ended up keeping safe? She couldn't even think things through when they were in Madrid. How can she actually say that Farrell would be dangerous to be around yet ask for his help? Or the fact that it was him that kept them safe.
-She refuses to see that her own actions got them into problems therefore she can't just put that shit on Farrell.
-her inability to just make up her mind but instead run away.
-her level of immaturity to be honest astounded me.
-fucking Farrell but not having the decency to just tell him about his daughter.

So overall that is the main reason I rated the book so poorly because I absolutely hated the FMC + her inability to take any accountability for herself.

I don't think I will continue with this series. I may read about Leo's love story novella but I can't stand the idea of reading Jenna's perspective so nope to the series for me.
It's a shame because the action + mafia life is very fascinating to me.

2.75 This story had some good points and storyline, but not the greatest characters. Jenna came off whiney at times with a "poor me ain't it awful" attitude. This is 2021 so the fact she got (opps) pregnant four years before with Farrell's baby, skips town without telling him he is going to be a father, makes her character drop several notches on the "like" scale. Not much character building for someone who is careless, shallow and self-centered. I get that their sex is off the charts but come on.....wrap it up; even if you are on birth control.

He on the other hand is what he has always been; buried deep within the mob. How did Jenna not know that when she got involved with him years earlier? I like his character much more than Jenna's. He is what he is and doesn't make any excuses and she is constantly wanting to remake him into what she wants him to be. For a mob boss he is extremely kind in so many ways and especially the way he treats her. He is obsessed with her and for whatever reason seems to think that they are star crossed lovers meant to be together. He goes out of his way to help her when her father is murdered and tries to get her answers she could never get on her own. Farrell deserves someone who actually loves him for who he is and not for who she wants him to be. She is always trying to seek out a normal relationship with him even though that goal seems impossible. considering that he in in bed with the mob.

She once again flees at the end of book 1, taking Lilly back to New York. This apparently is a pattern for her character which is very off putting. Instead of confronting her love/desires for Farrell and the knowledge she has gained as to her father's murder, she is once again hitting the door.

I won't be completing this series because the heroine is a huge disappointment. I really like Farrell's character and wish he had an equal in this series instead of a woman/child.

ONE HARD HITTING BOMBSHELL!!!
Holy crap! This is one amazing, fast paced, action packed, spine tingling, nailbiting, adrenaline pumping, nerve racking, page turning adventures to hit my kindle in a while. Michelle totally nailed this bad boy right up front. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few glitches here and there make for one suspense filled read that grabs your attention from the start. Add in all the danger and your heart nearly stops with so much happening. There's definitely never a dull moment. The characters are well developed and believable. Their personalities are unique with qualities and traits that balance out as they play off one another perfectly. The scenes are so graphic and detailed it really pulls this little treasure together beautifully. Michelle did a phenomenal job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Great job Michelle, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.

listen, desperate times call for desperate measures. the desperate times being that there has been no new mafia romance out that's worth reading (afaik) so even though i hate the pregnancy/child trope, i still picked this one up.

listen, the daughter wasn't the problem. it was the FMC. she was annoying and repeating herself constantly. i felt like SHE thought she had done and was doing the right things in order to protect her daughter, but the MMC was never unreasonable? like you could talk to him, he gave a shit, he loved her clearly and he wasn't a caveman who didn't give a fuck about what she wanted... so i truly don't believe that the running away in order to protect the child worked for the story/plot as the author had thought it did.

idk if i'll pick up the 2nd book. i just might because of the mafia dry spell...

📝 Alternating 3rd Person POV, Free on Kindle

Listen, I’m not the biggest second chance romance person, but I really enjoyed this one. Farrell had all of those amazing “Touch Her and Die” vibes that left me swooning. Although “secret children” is a trope that a lot of people don’t prefer, it worked really well with this storyline and these characters, plus Farrell as a father made me swoon even harder.

I enjoyed the thread of suspense that was threaded through this story. Some of the parts were a touch predictable, but there were also several things that really caught me off guard and surprised me.

This was the first book in Jenna & Farrell’s story and it won’t be the last!

Savage...

London Mob book 1. Farrell Black story. We met him in a previous book Ruthless, btw this book is 10 times better. No spoilers so simply put Farrell is a total badass. He loved Jenna before but she ran out on him with a huge secret. Jenna comes back trying to be difficult even though she has a huge secret. Now add in a secret from her read dad, some real bad guys and betrayal. Farrell although in the mob will give you all the feels in this book. A new author for me, I'm excited to see what's next.

Jenna has grown up with a drunk mother, no friends but her sister Kate and her father. When she met Farrell Black and fell pregnant, her only concern was for her baby, so she ran to New York. Now she is back in London and her path crosses Farrell's and she does not know how to tell him about his daughter. Once again Michelle St James has weaved a great story and created characters with a strong connection. Savagely good!

I loved the entire book until the ending. SPOILER ALERT: Why would she go back to London knowing that her dad's boss was after the papers and did they not believe more men would come after them??? That made no sense whatsoever and ruined the book for me. I'm hoping book 2 redeems the series. Yes, I'm that girl that reads the entire series even if she doesn't like the first book. Honestly the rest of the book was great, the ending just made no sense.
