Convergence: The Spirit-Led Journey

Rate this book
Do you have desires for your life—things you want to happen? If you do, and most people do, are they realistic, or do they seem just way too out there to ever materialize? But who’s to say what’s real or too farfetched to come true? You might be surprised by what God has in store for you.

Author John Phillip Moore knows about dreams, desires, and working through ideas. And he knows about God’s extraordinary role in their realization.

In his book, The Spirit-led Journey, he uses his experiences alongside those of others to show how God provides us all with glimpses into what lies ahead for us.

Each chapter takes readers on an adventure into different aspects of people’s Christian experiences. You will work through twelve spiritual considerations of your life and in that process interpret much more of God’s desire for your life.

Readers will also discover the importance of visions, dreams, ideas, and patterns, which form various aspects of God’s unveiling will in your life. This guide book deals with seeds planted in the heart, unearths nurturing principles, and then promotes action for the sojourner.

“Convergence”...the word best describes how John Moore loves living life. John’s life has been one unique assignment after another, all of them “converging” together to play out God’s plan. This is a great read! You’ll relate to it, learn from it and be challenged to live it out.

I picked up John Moore's book Convergence back in July of this year and read the first 7 chapters. I didn't finish because I was out traveling in Australia. When I came back I retired from one job and started a journey with the Colson Center for a Christian World View. Three weeks ago I went to my 40th US Air Force Academy reunion in Colorado Springs. When I returned, I suffered a crisis of my own and continued with the book. I found out I have a brain tumor that affects my reading and writing skills,so my daughter Elizabeth read the rest of the book to me.

I was stricken by chapter 11, the chapter on crises. Particularly, where the book 1 John is writing of the old man. He addresses them as little children and he gives them his personal phone number. The region was going through a crisis in the first century. In 1 John, the author John Moore discusses that John writes about the apostles who walked with Jesus and tells us about his intimate relationship with Christ. He knows Jesus like a brother. He was with him from the beginning to the end. He knew Jesus was God. He was imparting a message about what is true. (1 John 4:7-39) This message resonated with me personally, and inspired me to encourage others to read this book.

There are 12 stories here that can personally change your life and affect the way you see the Holy Spirit working. You will enjoy the time you spend reading John Moore's book. I know I did.

I started this book while visiting family in Australia and got distracted and put it down. I picked it up again recently when I was visiting my parents. My father just found out he has brain cancer and he can no longer read, at least for the moment. I read out loud to him a few chapters, including the chapter on Crises. It was profound, you can really see the truth of the Holy Spirit through this book and that the author has listened to him. A great, profound read, which focuses on true life through Christ.
