Cleopatra Margot has done it again! Christmas With Cocoa (the first book in this series) made my heart melt in two as Nate and Robin fell in love through winter and Christmas. This time, the reader will discover more about Robin's brother, Luke, and Raelynn Masey through an adorable summer setting on Rae's grandfather's ranch.

As Luke and Raelynn begin building Rae's dream business together, I admired more than ever the quirks Margot's characters had and all the funny scenes that were included. The romance was so sweet and tender. I gushed more than once! The obstacles that the characters had to face and overcome left me, as a reader, begging for more as the plot thickened. I loved the raw and real feel this book gave. I can't tell you how many times I let tears slip as I felt the characters open up and dynamically change. There's also a fun mystery included in this book that I believe readers will enjoy following!

Christian values are beautifully portrayed throughout each page. As a Christian, I admire that I can sit down and read Cleopatra's novels without having to worry about bad language or anything inappropriate.

I look up to Cleopatra so much as a writer. Her works have yet to disappoint me. I definitely encourage that if you're looking for a clean, cute, Christian Fiction romance, check out her books! You won't be let down, I guarantee it! One Summer Note is 110% worth your time!

This was a sweet, Christian contemporary novel. It was a clean read with a sweet message about dealing with grief and loss and finding love again. I thought this novel did a good job of including Biblical messages, without being preachy.
*KIND-OF-BUT-NOT-REALLY-SPOILER*: The one complaint I have is that one of the main conflicts at the end of the book is a misunderstanding/miscommunication between Luke and Rae. I felt this could have been resolved so easily with a quick explanation, but Luke flew off the handle, even though they had only been dating for one month (this is even mentioned in the book, when Luke is having inner dialogue). It was just one of those cliche "Person overhears other person's conversation on the phone or in person and misunderstands, and then person who eavesdropped gets upset and storms off, without allowing the other person to explain themselves" moments. *SPOILER DONE*
Aside from that, this was a cozy, clean romance novel, and it is perfect for anyone who enjoys the Hallmark Channel, like me.

It is quite difficult for me to genuinely enjoy a book with a main plot depending mostly upon the romantic development; however, One Summer Note gave me all the warm and fuzzy feelings that a good Christian Contemporary book should. One Summer Note further dives into the small town of Believe–which happens to be the same setting of the author's previous book, Christmas with Cocoa–and tells the story of Luke and Raelyn. Both Luke and Rae are carrying along baggage despite their faith in God. Rae finds herself in need of help, and her grandfather recommends that she search out Luke McKay; but little does she know what she's getting herself into.

Rae is an absolute sweetheart. Her character is all sunshine, sweetness, and overall joy. Despite her small stature, she's stubborn and spunky. Her hopelessly romantic attitude is hilariously relatable and all in all she's a great character.

Luke is also a sweetheart. The cowboy is caring, helpful, and respectful. And although he's tall and strong, he still has a delicate soul.

The plot revolves mostly around Rae's coffee shop, her friendship with Luke, and the mystery of J. Elf. So... quite what you'd expect from a Christian Contemporary Romance.

If there's one thing I would change, it would be the character's reactions. At one point, a phrase is misunderstood and the character overreacts severely. This misunderstanding is meant to be one of the main issues in the plot, and it didn't feel like enough. A huge fight ensued from something that really wasn't that important, so I felt as if the characters were making a storm in a teacup.

One Summer Note is the kind of wholesome love story that could be a Hallmark movie you and your mom giggle about. The romance is sweet and beautiful, and the Christian message, meaningful.

PS: As part of the release team for OSM, I was given a free ebook copy in exchange for an honest review.
