A third of the way through the book I still didn't know the author's purpose in writing it. I found it not so much difficult to read as not really worth the effort. When I read his belief that the Jewish sacrificial system was God's first plan of salvation and that Jesus' death was not God's original and only plan to save mankind, I was out. Will not finish, do not recommend.
"It can be said at once that His dying was not God's own plan. It was a plan conceived somewhere else, and yielded to by God. God had a plan of atonement by which men who were willing could be saved from sin and its effects. That plan is given in the old Hebrew code."
