I'll review the whole box set rather than individual books in the series. I've been looking for quick, fun, scifi or fantasy reads to listen to at work. I found this set on kindle unlimited with a 99 cent upgrade to the full audiobook set. It was a great, popcorn-eating, bubblegum chewing military scifi soap opera funfest. I was pleasantly surprised at how written it was and fastpaced action.

Made it through, barely
First the good parts. A few characters, even shallow, that you can get behind and root for. A series of increasingly implausible tasks and battles to overcome by a growing alliance of species, typical for space opera. Nothing unexpected and better than many.
Now for the rest of the story. Besides the usual so so editing the misuse of terms made reading many sections almost unbearable. Weapons have magazines not clips, there is no aft side on a ship aft is a direction facing the stern, the nadir of a planet is the closest point of the planet viewed from above, telling someone to go there is telling them to land not hide which is how it is used.
A military that allows lower ranks to refer to their officers by their last name, no rank, and speak to them as if they were equal. A ship's captain ordered around by a major. Really? A character referred to as a private, then corporal, then sergeant in about two paragraphs. Oh lest we forget the creatures that are 2000 meters tall which under normal gravity couldn't exist much less move and fight.
I could go on but I'm sure by now you get the point.

Oh what a long read!
It's bearable because it is broken up into short chapters. This compendium is really two books. The first is void wraith local, and then to void wraith next door. We have some curious descriptions of other world beings which are both mundane and fantastical. one type is essentially like a feral housecat that walks on two legs. It preens and grooms just like a housecat, but turns feral and vicious with provocation, and it's very aloof. Despite these jarring descriptions, the story moves with a unique and involving build-up that is unusual. I found it interesting after I got over the slow preliminaries. Both stories started slow but became interesting as I progressed. The grammar and spelling is very good. There was some good editing with this submission. I have the feeling though that the author got near the end of book two, and set it aside for later then forgot what he had written. I'm really confused about the irreversible melding with the matrix since it didn't happen as I imagined it would. I'm being a slight bit generous with the five star, but I think this saga is worth the read.

I tried the ebook sample (which is already a read for several hours, since the full ebook has around 1800 pages.
I didn't finish even the sample. The writing was pretty low level, a good continuation of the old penny dreadfuls, and I guess for roughly the same audience. The characters were hard to believe, implausible interactions. The technology used was not acceptable to me (like Fantasy books where one has to believe the magical system, in SciFi one has to find the technology believable, and I just couldn't take space ships that travel through suns, but actually do space battles with projectiles).
The book would provide a really long read with its 1800 pages, but even for the price of 0.99 Euros I found it so awful, I didn't want to buy it.

The Void Wraith series is an action-packed rollercoaster of incredible character development, well throughout plot developments, and a gripping narrative. I found that this series was written to emphasize the unique personalities of the characters, and it shows in amazing ways. You truly feel the dynamic between characters such as Nolan and Hannan, or Fizgig and Khar; where the dialogue propels you further and further into an already fantastically delivered universe. One of the best series I have read, to date, from any genre. I only wish I could know what happens to these lovable yet hardened characters next. Five stars is simply not enough!

Wow! I'm exhausted
Non stop action. Brilliant fight sequences, and the whole thing in one go. If you like the idea that the human race is ultimately the chosen people, then this series shows how our thoughts and actions differ from superior strength and equipment built by aliens. Only humans could unify the races needed to stop an unstoppable foe, and we always find a hero to lead.

Best Military Space Opera I've Read onlIne Time!
Nolan starts as a disgraced Intelligence Officer and ends as a Super Hero respected by all! Great character development but not so many that it becomes cumbersome as some series of this length do. Would definitely buy sequels to this series. Well worth the time to completely read it! Bought it because of the cheap price but well worth the full price of any series.

A somewhat different approach to galactic destruction.
Although this series is still basically about earth leading a war to save mortals from evil minions the approach was
Novel. But I still can't get over the name Fizgig.

This book, as well as others by this other suffer from a lack of honest, fine-tuned editing and beta-reading. There are concepts in here that seem cool and interesting at first, but end up as shallow as a puddle in a few moments.
Many of the concepts used are either broken or muddy. From the very first few chapters, any sense of scale, where things or people are in relation to each other, or even how fast the ships in this series actually move; are described in any meaningful way. In the first few chapters the MC describes a need for drugs to resist a high-g accel for several days to get to a location. Then, a couple chapters later, ships are moving from the freaking sun to Pluto in an hour! That many, many times faster than the speed of freaking light, which would render the fancy stargate almost unnecessary.
This happens constantly. Ships are moving back and forth between star systems, which requires jumping via stars as this series' FTL gimmick, in less than a day frequently. I think in the second book the move from the Sun to the moon in less than and hour. Starlight takes roughly 8 minutes.
There is little thought to how the alien factions could have functioned as explained for the lengths of time stated to have passed. Most of the ideas here have been used much better before and aren't really introducing anything fun. A couple points seem inspired by Mass Effect and other major tentpole IPs.
The ships are only vaguely described, and their functions even less. Combat between ships makes no logical sense whatsoever, and it's almost laughably bonkers at what outcomes occur. There's a warhammer 40k inspired boarding maneuver the author seems to really love, but it makes little sense even in the universe he created. It should never work even as described.
Honestly, this series is really frustrating. The moment something interesting happens, that idea is smashed with an authorial hammer and smote forever. On top of it all, there aren't really any viewpoint characters I even liked, rooted for, or wanted to know more about.
It's not as bad as his star mage or star sorcerer or whatever series that dropped on book 1, but not worth the effort.

Captain Dryker and Commander Nolan command the UFC Johnston
The Primo enforce a cease fire between the Human and Tigris. Neither is allowed to enter the other's sphere of influence. The Johnston is investigating disappearing colonies. All the missing colonies are located on planets with Primo Genitus ruins. There is no evidence of foul play, no bodies, no damage, just empty buildings and missing colonists. Dryker and Nolan, investigating the Primo ruins, discover a Primo data cube which contains information about the Void Wraiths and the connection to the missing colonists. What they discover drives them to enter Tigris space. Alone. No backup. A suicide mission to convince the Tigris of a danger to all life in the galaxy.
I'm glad I read the Void Wraith Origins Series before starting this. I know the lead characters intimately and can't wait to start the action. It wasn't a long wait - the action started almost immediately. I love these characters and can't wait to see what they're going to come up with next! I already knew the background, so no long periods of adjustment - just dive right into the action. No flotation devices. Dive in head first and stir up the muck on the bottom until you see a way through. The storyline is outstanding. The characters are bigger than life and more colorful too! I'm going to love continuing this series! I know you will too!

An ok way to pass time. I definitely would not have been happy with this series if I had to buy the books separately. I think together they tell a story that showed a good adventure. As individuals I would have felt like I was being forced to buy each separate chapter. I will mention I listened to the audio book so the pricing is probably much different. The end of the series is a bit lack luster and I did not feel like that was the actual end to it the big bads are kind of hanging out still around somewhere. Overall I would say it was generally written pretty well although the plot seemed kind of stale and the pacing was a bit off because of the way they broke it up.

I often cheer for the bad guys, the good guys can be self righteous do-dahs. Not this time. The opposition are so bad I was gleefully looking forward to the slaughter of their children.
It’s pulp. I know it, the author knows it, the book knows it. 1700 pages flew by. Corny alien names, bigger and bigger guns, ninja space cats. Things so big they are called ‘world striders’.
Probably deserves more than 3 stars but I’ve read a lot by of good pulp recently so something had to give. I suppose calling the baddest space cat in the galaxy ‘The Mighty Fizgig’ is a crime of some kind.

Reading six books at once presents a challenge.
Opinion #1: This series is worth it. The story arc follows a small group of characters through a larger (galaxy-sized) narrative.
Opinion #2: The writing and plot improves with each books. Through the first book reads like a pulp novel (very Starship Trooper movie and book), the last shows maturity in characters and style. BTW, the first was fun because of the pulp.
Opinion #3: The aliens and cultures were very imaginative, particularly the big, baddies. A couple of the "lesser", though important, species felt too derivative.

What to say about this sage without giving to much away,right here gose nothing. if your a fan of the following "Bab 5" + "SG1" ++ "Battlestar Galactica" plus C. J. Cherryh's "Chanur" series & Robert A. Heinlein's "The Puppet Masters" - it has aspects of all of them, then you may or may-not like this sage - but i did so there ****. ;-}

Chris Cox has written a nonstop military yarn without equal
From the modest beginning Nolan excelled in his tactics stopping for after for to become a Captain with a superb squad of specialized mechs. Who defeated numerous aliens bent on total destruction , and complete annihilation of all being. Throughout all the battles Nolan kept his faith in the battles were righteously the right thing to do.

Battle, battle, battle....
This is a great sci fi series that involves military battles, politicians, enemies, allies, and world eradicating aliens. Nolan is a young human officer who has been demoted from the fast track to the 14th, a scraggly, underfunded bunch of misfits. But when the subterfuge and the invasion begin, Nolan is in the right place at the right time.

I usually avoid military stuff, but the library had this and it was SciFi. It is kiddy stuff (maybe teenagers) with large cats, whalorians and huge baddies that digest people, and the ability of the heroes to escape from multiple impossible situations. It was pretty well-written though and I persevered through 1200+ pages, just. Would I do it again? No.

Great series
This story is about a military paper pusher that becomes a warrior and teams with aliens to fight a mysterious foe from across the galaxy. His unique style and personal growth are a big part of the story and its interesting to watch him grow. I really enjoyed the story and recommend this to anyone that enjoys space operas.

Do you want to be transported to another world
Just excellent all the way through from beginning to end I can't tell you how many times I've almost been late to work because of this series I've stayed up so late just to finish another chapter and then another chapter and then another chapter just excellent

Excellent epic space fantasy
Huge story arc across all nine books. Just when you think the war is won, another twist brings the combat back. Well done, three dimensional characters who show growth and development through the series. Unique and interesting technology explored. A great read.

Loved it. Excellent visual concepts. I am always amazed by the fantasy worlds created by writers. Chris Fox is a master at giving alien life form, function and a heart. I loved the main character and how Nolan gathers help from where ever he can. I look forward to reading more books from this author.

Absolutely brilliant
Being a lifelong lover of science fiction books it is great when you come across a new author that really knows how to tell a good story and Chris Fox is certainly one of them.
I totally enjoyed the Void Wraith series and look forward to reading a lot more from this author.
Would highly recommend it to any science-fiction lovers out there.

Falls far short of potential.
I can only agree with other reviewers.
The author has talent but exhibits frustrating levels of laziness.
Authors need to know their subject matter to at least some degree and this author does not!
If you're going to use the military as a framework for a novel have at least a modicum
of knowledge.

Great Space Opera...
I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I started reading this saga, but it was very entertaining and action packed. I am impressed with Chris' writing style and I enjoyed the combination of military sci-fi blended with a little diplomacy. I look forward to the next adventures in Chris' universe...

I love great books.
This book series reminds me of the sci-fi I read as a young teenager in the late 60's or early 70's. This story is non stop action from start to finish, space babes and monstrous aliens and hero's oh my!! Great reading and I'm going to read the rest of Chris Fox's books starting now.

I am in book 4 now andi never want this series to end!! I am actually listening to the Audible audiobook version. I am pretty annoyed by the reader, because he doesn't know how to correctly inflect his sentences / words. It is irritating me, BUT the writing and storyline is FANTASTIC!!

Outstanding drama and action.
Well written drama drama scenes. There was little lag time between action sequences occurring in various places at the same time that were smoothly combined. A joy to read this well edited series.

This is a good read. The problem I had with this set is the author was very long winded. I kept saying to myself "Get on with it already!". To much description, and then later the author tells it again and then again. PS: one time is enough. Good Reading Everyone!
