Details evidence which reveals the importance of maintaining continuity of nurturing care for infants and toddlers and discusses the value of a parental presence in a child's early years
Although the data was a bit outdated, this is still an excellent book explaining the benefits of having a consistent caregiver in the life of a baby and small child. The book did not criticize working parents, it simply illustrated the benefits of having a parent at home. The book also offered alternative solutions for parents who have no choice but to work.
Several studies were used to illustrate the points.
Very general book about the decision to be a stay-at-home parent. Most of it was complete common sense, I thought. Being a parent for 2 years now, and a stay-at-home parent for the past year, I didn't find it helpful at all, and I am conflicted about going back to work.
Good book for an expectant parent who is thinking about staying home - gets the thoughts rolling.
