Vampire Brides #10

Forever Taboo

Rate this book
In Ireland, where female witches have been hunted to near extinction, she’s a rare jewel that glows like the moon. He’s a vampire, blood thirsty and not ashamed of it. When he sees a woman being abducted by two burly men, he can’t quite keep himself from trying to step in to help. Too bad Willow didn’t really need his help and instead he ends up in her not so gentle care.

Witches and Vampires aren’t supposed to mix. It makes them too big of a target… too much of a threat. Especially when there are so few female witches in Ireland to continue their species. The last thing Cavan wants is to be attracted to the tiny, red headed woman, but his traitorous heart won’t stop beating every time she’s near... A heart that hasn’t beat in four hundred years; a heart that would only begin to beat again once he found his true mate.

If he pursues feisty Willow he will be breaking every taboo there is among their species.

Forever Bound is a novella featured in the Vampire Brides series. All books in the Vampire Brides series are standalone and can be read in any order.

Author Bio:

Nichole Chase is a daydreamer. No, really, just ask any of the math teachers that had the misfortune of seeing her name appear on their class schedule. For years she has had story lines and characters begging for attention, but she resolutely pushed them aside to focus on more normal (read, boring) jobs. Well, no longer! She is currently heeding the voices in her head and frantically writing their stories. Nichole resides in South Georgia with her husband, energetic daughter, super hero dog, Sulcata tortoise, and two cats. When not devouring novels by the dozens, you may find her writing, painting, crafting, or chasing her daughter around the house while making monster noises.

Nichole is the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author of The Royal Series (Suddenly Royal, Recklessly Royal, and Reluctantly Royal). She has four other novels and several short stories published in different anthologies. Her next novel, The Accidental Assassin, will be available on November 4th.

"You're glowing." His voice was filled with awe. "You look like a moon goddess."
"And your eyes are as dark as night." She kissed along his jaw.
"You should be afraid of me, Willow."
"Why would the moon be afraid of the night?"
--Cavan & Willow

Even though this novella was fairly short, I still enjoyed it and felt myself fully immersed in the story. There was definitely some insta-love going on between Cavan and Willow, but that comes with the territory when talking about fated mates which I don't mind. I liked how both MCs were not afraid of doing what was necessary in order to protect themselves and those they care about, and there was plenty of action to keep readers interested. I'd recommend this novella to readers who are looking for a short read containing plenty of steam and paranormal family drama to kill some time.

Loved it

I loved this story and have found a new author. This is a quick story but leaves nothing hanging. I fell in love with the characters almost immediately. My only wish is for more books staring Willow and Cavan.

First time reading something by this author, and I can honestly say I was not disappointed. Nichole Chase you have now found yourself a new fan. There are eleven total novellas in this shared world, by the Midnight Coven, each of them a standalone paranormal romance, and I have read every one of them and have LOVED them! I am a HUGE Paranormal fan and while reading this novellas I have found new authors that I will now be following and reading. So THANK YOU very much to the Midnight Coven crew xx.

This Novella was short and was wonderful, it was action packed, insta love and betrayal. I feel like there is so much more for Willow and Cavan and really hope to see more books for them in the future.

Willow is a self taught witch with no family members to help her with her skills and talents. When she leaves America and goes to Ireland to try and track down some family, she finds a whole new kind of family that she never would have been able to dream of.

Cavan has lived for centuries, has never thought about his fated mate and never wanted one. But one night when he stumbles across his mate fighting off witch’s that are trying to kidnap, he must step up and protect her.

What happens when your minding your own business and fate decides to knock?

Willow is a fierce, self taught witch who isn't afraid to unleash havoc. Cavan has lived for centuries and is shocked to find his lady love -- a stranger in peril.

I liked Forever Taboo. My main impression is how romantic the story is. Its kismet meets kick ass. You can't really not like that combination. If anything, a fuller length story would have been fun to explore.

I really liked this book other than the fact that the story seemed a bit rushed. But I'm also not a big fan of novellas in general because of this same reason. Considering it's short length, it is still a good story. I liked that it was set in Ireland and that the romance was between a witch and vampire.

This is the second story I've read from the Vampire Brides series. It was definitely a fast paced, quick read. Great for a treadmill read.

I've never read anything from this author before. I'll be looking into her other works.
