Annoying!
That encompasses the entire book and Abby! What is wrong with her? She is a huge hypocrite. And controlling. A lot!
Basically, (answering my rhetoric question) there was a lot of things wrong with her and her actions as well as others (potential heroines of serial books).
First, she sleeps with her alien and then preaches to others that they shouldn't. She keeps telling other women not to get attached, while she is gallivanting with her alien and allowing her daughter to call him papa. The entire situation with Molly was another example of lording her authority over others. Abusing it, really. She deliberately separates Molly and her mate, after knowing that they are mates. Molly is a sixteen-year-old pregnant girl, not a child. She had no right to interfere as if she were her mother. And if she did, then she should be more responsible for her! She doesn't even care to comfort her or make sure she is well. Molly ends up having a medical emergency because of malnutrition and dehydration. A depressed teenager in her third-trimester pregnancy! And yet, Abby accepts no responsibility of her actions!
The other thing that didn't make sense to me was the entire wet nurse thing. Are women really going to let children starve? The entire reaction was off! Why were they reluctant in the first place so that the heroine had to convince them to take care of them? That makes no sense! Talking about things not making sense, what is the whole race purity nonsense? The race is dying, all the women are dead and they care about race purity?? Seriously?! I am sure it will matter a whole lot more when they are all dead! This was such a stupid convenient illogical plot device to add!
The entire book was about giving a bottle and feeding the children and sex scenes with the alien. Nothing more or less to the plot! No romance, no conversation (at least none sensible) except her going home and no action. Her going on and on about going home was so annoying, that I nearly threw the kindle into a wall. That was another thing about Abby that wanted me to bash my head (or hers, I am not choosy) into the wall. Even when she thought she was going home, she bonds with the alien knowing that it will be permanent for him. What? She couldn't keep her hands to herself for a month? Couldn't request another room away from him? Seriously, I can't imagine someone selfish enough to make someone's entire life a misery for a few days of comfort! At least, that is no heroine that I would want to read about.
In my opinion, the ungrammatical cute kid was not enough to combat the barely woven together plot, selfish, hypocritical, controlling heroine and zero romance or action. The writing was good enough, but the plot and the Abby deserve entirety of its one-star rating!
Ps - I see it! The overuse of the exclamation marks! All I can say is that the number of exclamation marks is directly proportional to my annoyance with the book. Yes, the book was that annoying!

Mama and the Alien Warrior is book one in the Treasured by the Alien series by Honey Phillips & Bex McLynn.
Hrebec is adorable. I loved him the moment we meet him. He’s sweet and I just loved his interaction with the human child, her mother, and the Cire baby. He’s just heart-melting.
Abby sees herself as a mother figure to these women who where dropped off at her door. She’s protective of everyone in her care.
As the story goes and is explained in the blurb Abby has opened a maternity home for women with no place to go. All of those in her care are kidnapped from earth. Then get rescued by the Cires.
We are introduced to many secondary characters both human and aliens. At times it was hard to keep track of everyone, since so many are introduced and some secondary characters where hooking up besides our leads.
A few things frustrated me and took away from the story.
1. Abby kept saying throughout the book were going back to Earth. We’re leaving. We’re going back. She never asked the young ladies in her care if they wanted to stay with their rescuers or go back to earth. What do these women have to go back too? They had nothing back on Earth so, why go back? It was frustrating how much she kept repeating this.
2. Another thing that frustrated me was with Abby in that she never wanted to explore the possibility of a future with Hrebec, until all the other women said they want to stay. She just pushed off the bond. Even with all the signs.
3. I was very frustrated with Abby in that she thinks she knows what’s best for Molly. What Abby did in keeping Molly away from her mate ended up making Molly suffer. With the suffer all the signs where their that she wasn’t doing well. What Abby did put Molly, her unborn child, and her mates life in danger leading to a medical emergence. And in the end, only two lines are said about this and all is forgiven.
4. Last, It was frustrating that Abby tried to force the women in her care to do as she said and made decisions for them. These are grown women. Even if they are young and one is a teenager she should have talked to them and asked their opinion instead of being a mother in that my word is law.
Now, their were a few things I did enjoy about this story.
1. We are treated to some sweet and tender interactions. My favorite parts where all the interactions with the 2-year-old, Lucie. She was so adorable and open minded with her situation.
2. I enjoyed the aliens and how unique they are.
3. The family bonding parts where just so adorable.
4. Last, I liked how curious the aliens are in seeing a child, infants, and women. Many have never seen children and women; because their race has no women and is dyeing.
Mama and the Alien Warrior was a nice and enjoyable read.

Two stars for the knotting
This was unfortunately not a book I enjoyed. I had really high hopes for it since I liked Bex’s Thanemonger book decently and Honey has some following. But it fell flat and honestly, I was extremely frustrated with the h, Abby. I wanted to slap her so bad!
Abby was SO CONTROLLING! She left corporate to adopt and raise her niece. Then she opens a maternity home for women with no place to go. Okay, that’s nice right? Well, the books takes on such a significant portion of it focusing on child care for the babies they are all caring for after their abduction. And Abby’s adopted niece was also present and involved a good bit. I came to this book for romance, not a handful of sex scenes and bottle feeding babies.

The h was not responsive and accepting of the possibility of the bonding even though she could feel it if she allowed herself and could see the other females experiencing it too. She was not willing to explore her possibilities with the H until all the other females said they wanted to stay on the alien planet because they had nothing to return to on earth. Seriously, none of them had a family! But Abby kept saying return to earth blah blah blah. She didn’t have anything to go back to either except those girls if they returned, but they would all end up growing up and leaving anyways! I disliked her push off of the bond in favor of returning to earth. Thank goodness the other females balled up and told her they wished to stay on the alien planet.
But what annoyed me the worst is Abby thinking she knew what was best for Molly. A sixteen year old pregnant human female who had been at her home. She was taken advantage of by an older man. The alien, Ribel, who is her mate and it was OBVIOUS they both wanted one another, Abby was keeping them apart. Abby goes on to tell th aliens basically that Molly is a child and not of age. They’re like but she’s pregnant.....and Molly says it’s her mental state and age in human society, not her body. Of course the aliens are confused because if she’s able to get pregnant she should be able to accept her mate. Even though Molly was depressed, not eating or drinking and not speaking to anyone. She was obviously in pain. And Abby is all were going back to earth she’ll get over him she doesn’t need to cling to someone. Wtf? WOMAN SHEIS ALREADY PREGNANT, she’s already on the fast track to growing up. Stay in your lane Abby. Molly ends up having a medical emergency and the doctor explains she is so bad off because she was kept from her mate and now her mate will also suffer trying to save her! And Abby is like two lines saying she didn’t mean for that to happen, and her guy is like it’s okay Abby I know you didn’t. And that’s that. Seriously? She’s not those women’s mother and had no right to force their behavior or decisions! Not only was their so much focus on child care, not enough romance, but when she kept trying to over step with Molly and Ribel, that ruined the book for me.
The Hero’s are a lizard like alien species with rough/bumpy skin and thin lines for lips. This didn’t do much for me, but I hung around. The exciting thing was that their D did have a knotting feature. This is sexy! But it was hard to imagine that feature on a more reptile like being since that is normally a more canine like feature, think wolf shifter and dogs, or it’s very common in MF Omegaverse. The H overall was sweet, caring and likable.

2019 romanceopoly - Alien Avenue
3.5 Stars
I’m a fan of sweet things, this mainly entails consuming copious amounts of chocolate, cake and ice-cream, but, at times, my sweet tooth can also strike in my taste in books as well. When such cravings kick in, the Treasured by an Alien series is the perfect way to sate my hunger. You have the double whammy of some real cute kids, combined by an adorable hero who can’t quite believe his luck.
So far, there are two books out in this series Mama and the Alien Warrior which starts with the familiar let’s-kidnap-human-women-for-nefarious-purposes plot. But, she’s quickly saved by our deliciously, alien (green, scaly, has a tail) hero. But, not before her and her daughter have bonded with an alien baby who was also held captive with them.
The second book A Son for the Alien Warrior has our heroine searching for her missing sister. Her search leads her to stow away on an alien spaceship…where she is immediately discovered. Luckily, the guy who finds her is undercover and one of the good guys and he takes her to our alien hero (again, green, scaly, has tail), who agrees to help her look for her sister.
I adored both these books, I sat and read them in one sitting and it just left me wanting more. If you’ve read Honey Phillips before, which I have, then this isn’t quite her usual brand of super sexy erotic alien romance, instead this errs more on the sweet side. It’s still has some delicious sexy times in it, but, it also has the added cuteness of building a family.
If you love your alien romances, then you need to pick these up. They are great quick reads that will leave you with a big ol’ cheesy grin on your face

4 1/2 "Leonardo" Stars!
This was the sweetest, steamy, put a silly smile on my face Scifi Alien Romance I have read in a long time. I adored Hrebec. He just stole my heart. Abby was sweet too but she could be a mama bear! Her loyalty to her "girls" was admirable. I loved their story, plus the authors gave us three other little bonus side romance HEAs. I really can't wait to read more in this series. So happy I stumbled onto this gem. If you enjoy some hot and sweet alien love, I highly recommend this one. Happy reading!

I do love a good alien/human romance. Abby and Hrebec are worlds apart (literally, until Abby and her girls get abducted), but they fit, man. They fit. He's resigned and a little lost (emotionally, not physically. I assume he knows where his ship is given that he's in charge and all that.) and she just sort of marches into his heart and makes herself at home.
Which is so sweet. I LOVE WHEN THE BIG, BROODY ALIENS FIND THEIR SPECIAL SOMEONES!
He's also given a ready-made family since Abby comes with an adopted daughter and a Cires foundling she's taken responsibility for. Hrebec might not know exactly how to be a father, but he falls for the girls just as hard as he falls for Abby. OH MY HEART! Big, broody aliens going all gooey over kids is my other favorite thing!
Fast-paced romance (Abby might take her time getting physical with Hrebec, but she's drawn to him from the start), found family, shenanigans of a dangerous nature (alien slavers are never a good thing to tangle with), and PLENTY of HAWT ALIEN LOVIN'. I liked this one. A LOT.

I’ve had this book on my TBR for awhile and finally decided to pick it up for a group challenge. I was not expecting it to be so wet and and adorable but it was. There is a lot of focus given to the heroine being a mom and her kids. The story is not entirely original, basically it’s a story many sci-fi authors adapt but the detail set it out on its own. After being taken from earth the heroine, her daughter and the women in her group type home + their kids wake up on ship where they are to be sold as slaves. Our hero’s people have suffered a plague which killed all their women and so for the most part, hope has been lost. When coming upon an enemy ship, they suspect they’ll be able to help survivors and stop trafficking of goods but they do not imagine to save a group of compatible women ie mates and their kids. Such a great start to the series and I can’t wait to see where it goes and if it even continues with this same group of women.

A bit dull for my liking. Abigail was a great mama bear, but I didn't like her character. Also one of my pet peeves, is when the alien's speak with proper English, even with the translator. It takes away from the fact that he's an alien.

This was cute. I enjoyed it a lot.
Abby was a good female MC, I loved that she really cared for the girls in her care. I found the concept of the girls being able to pick out their mate by scent even though they were human.
The family bonding part of the story was so adorable and I loved Lucie and how accepting she was of all that had happened to them.

It was all rainbows and sunshine. Everyone was pretty much "okay" with the existence of aliens and being kidnapped and basically they just started snagging guys left, right and centre.
I don't know. I guess it was all just a little too easy and unreal. Yes, I know I'm talking about a paranormal, sci-fi alien romance, don't give me that look.

No idea what that was,.... but ok!
Was okay. I needed something that could totally remove me from the world and that wouldn’t take too much brain power. Sometimes fluff is just what you need. And sometimes it’s alien fluff which this is 100%.
It was the cover that caught my eye. I mean a little “human” looking child on top of a reptilian looking aliens shoulders? Sure. I’ll give it a try. What can I loose? Nothing.
I mean I always love reading these big alpha male characters and add in a kid or baby and, yeah. Melt. So why not see how it could work with an alpha male alien?? Worked. It work on all the levels I wanted it to.
Loosing me into the alien world on board a ship with reptilian aliens. Because sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
Was okay. I needed something that could totally remove me from the world and that wouldn’t take too much brain power. Sometimes fluff is just what you need. And sometimes it’s alien fluff which this is 100%.
It was the cover that caught my eye. I mean a little “human” looking child on top of a reptilian looking aliens shoulders? Sure. I’ll give it a try. What can I loose? Nothing.
I mean I always love reading these big alpha male characters and add in a kid or baby and, yeah. Melt. So why not see how it could work with an alpha male alien?? Worked. It work on all the levels I wanted it to.
Loosing me into the alien world on board a ship with reptilian aliens. Because sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Well this is certainly a dollar store version of a sci-fi romance, like the title suggests 😂. The writing in this is bad. Reads like a script with no emotion. The h is annoying. The H is a lizard. IDK about this series , but my fellow sci-fi reading friends liked it 🤷♀️ I’m odd girl out on this one. I might try the next one though.

How does she pay for pregnant teen, (plus babies) refuge?
Who runs it, her, a single mum, alone.
Realises she, teens, 5yr daughter on a space ship abducted?
"Ssh baby. It's going to be all right." Cool, calm, collected.
Kid stays calm, no tears until waaaayy later, when she hears one of the babies cry.
There's a reptile like baby. Everybody assumes it drinks milk/formula. She is the only one who figures it needs to be warmed. Cause, we all know reptiles suckle and are warm blooded.
Rescued by very big 'very' reptile like male aliens. She of course is able to be attracted instantly, almost has sex with the leader a few hours later.
When they discuss military's, of course a alien's will be exactly the same as US, no explanations required.
Family structures, needs, the same as western, no explanation required.
It goes on and on..
The characters are supposedly strong, but can't make hard decisions without someone else to tell them how.
Smart, but can't figure out anything that would get in the way of the formulae style storyline. Everything else, comes so easy!
There is no science, everything just is, even the bits that make no sense as of the science know during publication.

This is a really cute collaboration between Honey Phillips and Bex McLynn. It's perfect if you're looking for an uncomplicated quick read without too many conflicts thrown into the plot line. If I were to be unkind, I would describe it as "boring" or "dull", but not all reads have to be of R. Lee Smith caliper to be worth reading. This story is well done for what it is—sweet, fluffy, low stakes. It's a feel good read that steers clear of the more "wholesome" romance pitfalls out there.
Are the aliens very alien? In looks only. There's very little going on otherwise to remember they're not supposed to be human when their tails are not being mentioned.
Is the heroine annoying? YES Absolutely. But it's so nice to find the rare lady in space over the age of 30—actual age never given, but her declining fertility is mentioned, so I'm tempted to put her at 35+— that I can overlook how sanctimonious and naggy she is. Abby is a worrywart on top of being a helicopter surrogate mother to a handful of older teen girls she takes care of, but she's trying to do the right thing even if it's colored by her own biases and prejudices.

There are few children in this story and they’re part of the main course not just the side dishes, Lol.
Sweet, predictable but an enjoyable read!

Abby, her daughter Lucie, and the young women who live in her maternity home end up being abducted by some evil aliens at the beginning of this book. But they are saved by a different alien species called The Cires. Hrebec is the captain and immediately becomes intrigued by the mother figure of this group of women. But it doesn't matter if he is becoming attached, he promised to take these women back home.
This was a fun alien romance! If you are wanting to read an insta-love story, this one will be perfect for you :) I thought it was so sweet when both characters knew that there was no one else in the universe for them! I also really loved the side characters and all the new babies! This just wasn't my favorite alien romance, unfortunately.

This was very cute! Loved all the kids and babies and the alien men being all sweet and lovable with them.
There was a bit of an overload on the characters. The women, the alien men, and all the babies! We had our main couple at the forefront, then the others had their storyline going on the side, a bit watered down. I had assumed future books would feature characters from this group, and do their pov then extend the storyline - the formula we see with other books. But no, it wrapped up many heas and future books mostly are new people and new experiences with some connections along the way.
Would have liked it better if we had cut out the side characters a bit and shortened it up some. But I liked it, and liked the aliens with their sneaky, kinky tails.

I couldn't put it down!!!
I stayed up until 3am to finish reading this amazing gem. I wanted/needed to know what was going to happen and how they were going to stay together because I be sugar coated if the main characters didn't stay together.
This book has everything in it; action, space, sexy ailens and some detailed spicy scenes

Love HONEY PHILLIPS 💘💘💘.
This was an extremely lovely read !! I think that the entire time I was reading it , I had a big goofy grin on my face !!! This story is about Abigail, a woman who adopted her sister's baby girl. And Hrebec, the Captain of the spaceship of the Confederated Planets Patrol.
Hrebec and his crew find a slave ship in their area that they are patrolling , and mount up a rescue operation. No matter the females he may find , he plans on returning them to their home planet .
What he does find is a few women who have been abducted from a planet with no space traveling ability . Also they are all Mother's who have been separated from their young and only allowed to see their babies at feeding time !! He comes from a planet that has lost most All of their females. Included in the baby room is a tiny newborn from his planet !!! He is mystified , since there has been no females born in a very long time ......
Abigail has adopted her sister daughter. Knowing 1st hand how hard it is for new Mother's , she has opened her home to a few teenage Mother's with no resources, no family .
One night , she , her daughter Lucie, and her household of new Mother's and Mothers to be, get abducted by Alien slavers. Once , on board the slave ship they are separated from their babies. Abby , being the leader and spokes person of the frightened group , received a translator in order to communicate. She begs for the babies back , but is told that they will all be sold, and that they females should not get too attached !! They may feed them , but that is all. Inside the room the babies are kept is a tiny alien babies , and she will not eat . Abby feels that she has to try to feed the poor thing . With
the on board Dr , they figure out a way to feed the infant ,and after a few days , Abby grows attached to her . I mean , how could she Not ??
A few weeks into their journey , a loud noise wakes them all and more Aliens come on board. But , at least these new ones are here to help !
Hrebec feels that he must keep a firm grip on his crew , many of whom have never even seen a female, let alone babies . And as for Abby.......could she smell any more Delicious ??? And that precious baby from his species..... He finds that he is already in love , and so are some of his crew........how are they ever going to allow them to go ?????
I am Already anxious for the next book from the two exceptional Authors !!!!!

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover or that it’s on KU. I got this book because I was bored, it had good reviews and I like an alien book.
Mama and the Alien Warrior was actually, to my surprised a pretty decent book. It was written fairly well, it was engaging and overall I liked it. It’s not just a smutty book, there’s plot, character development and the kids are adorable.
Abby takes care of single moms and one night her and her daughter and a few of her single mothers were kidnapped by bad aliens. Don’t be confused by the good aliens, because the good aliens rescue her.
The world building was nothing new to the books I usually read in the alien world, but what was different was that the written held my interest. The book is more dialogue based which is really hard to find in KU. For some reason many KU authors love to write descriptive base books and I can’t stand it.
The kids have a HUGE presence in the series and I think that is what kind of made the book for me. I felt like it did take some time for the couple to figure it out and towards the end it was kind of slow and I skimmed a bit, but it was at the very end.
Overall, a good read.

Featuring all the great things that make for an amazing steamy sci fi romance read.. plus a whole lot more!
This is a fantastic unique story. Both gripping and emotional to the point of heart breaking. I adored the main man Herbrec..he was a wonderfully created character that truly made me swoon. Abby is a fantastic leading lady, I loved her no nonsense/take care attitude. Filled with true heart touching moments I devoured it in one go. Nothing was stopping me from finishing this bad boy!
I would love love love for this to become a series. The co authors have created such a great world and story together that has left me wanting to know more!

Aliens rescuing mothers and babies - yes!
Abby runs a maternity home for young women with no safe place to go. She, her daughter, the women and their babies are all kidnapped by aliens. These are not nice people. The women and babies are treated like chattel. I love Abby’s nurturing personality and her desire to help all the babies held by the aliens.
More aliens to the rescue! I love Hrebec and his crew with their frisky tails! What a fantastic story this is. It’s fascinating watching the women becoming interested in this new group of males, and the reactions of each of the alien men. Great story-telling, and the sweetest HEA ending I could imagine!

Nice
It's a good short read. The little girl was cute. A lot of people didn't like her but she didn't really have much dialogue. The hero had some jealousy but he didn't let is make him into a jerk like what happens so often in these books. It would have been nice to see him fight the enemy, which happens off screen. I liked the mostly strong female characters.
I say mostly because Molly. I had to remind myself she was a pregnant, tramatized, teen girl. She stopped eating and helping her friends, endangering herself and the baby. Because of a guy. I thought given her behavior she was mentally ill, but apparently it was the "bond". Meaning she didn't get any help.

I loved this book and hope the writers set more books in this world. The babies and child make the story sweet and the characters are well written and believable. The family dynamics between Hrebec, Abbey, Lucie and Tiana was very heart warming while Hrebrec and Abbeys' love life was hot. I will enjoy rereading this book many times

I loved reading this sweet story. The relationship between the aliens and the young are heart melting. The hero is swoon worthy and the heroine in strong and in charge. Love it. Highly recommend.

This was a very good first installment for a new sci-fi romance series. My only annoyance in this book was the lead heroine, who couldn't make up her fucking mind on whether she wanted to stay with h or go back to earth; which had NOT been kind to most of her-(teenage/twenty-something)-girls, or if she wanted to stay with the amazing alien hero.
She wouldn't make up her mind until the VERY end of the book. I'm sorry, but she irritated the freaking hell outta me.
Other than that one complaint, the story-building was beautiful, the love stories were touching and amazing, and I loved little Tiana. And all of the other babies.
