I met the man of my dreams in a jail cell at midnight.
Charlotte Hawk had perfect blue eyes, a rock-hard chest, and tattoos covering his bulging arms. He was the bad-boy biker I'd been dreaming of. Yet when I woke, he was gone. I thought I’d never see him again. But thanks to a power-hungry sheriff, now I’m stuck in this town. Stuck with my new crush for three weeks of community service. Plus three weeks of teasing, flirting, and increasingly scandalous text messages. But there’s a darkness in his eyes holding him back. Something keeping him from taking me the way he wants. And before I leave this town? I’m going to find out what it is.
Hawk Charlotte rolled into my life like a thunderstorm. Smoldering eyes and a body I wanted to crush against mine. I had the irrepressible need to possess her. To drink from those pouty lips. But the last time I cared about a woman, my life was destroyed. The Copperhead biker gang took everything from me. I vowed I would never let it happen again. But she makes me want to risk it all. She makes me want to start over. Because for the first time since I can remember? I have something to live for.
FORBIDDEN CRUSH is a standalone MC romance with humor, action, suspense, and off-the-chart heat levels guaranteed to melt your kindle! HEA guaranteed.
Cassie Cole is a romance author living in Norfolk, Virginia. A polygamist/polyamorist at heart, she thinks Romance is best when served in threes, fours, and fives!
Forbidden Crush is a small town biker romance based in the minute but corrupt town of 'Eastland'. Charlotte Owens makes an emotionally-charged decision one day to uproot her life when she realises she isn’t the only lady in her boyfriend Scott's life. Deeply upset but by no means breaking the law, on her drive back to her hometown Charlotte has the absolute unfortunate fate of being thrown into Eastland's jail for biased charges. Her day can’t seem to get any worse, but in the cell next to hers lies the town's outcast, Hawk. With good-natured words and an approachable demeanour Charlotte wonders how this rugged biker with kind eyes came to be here.
Charlotte finds that she has left her college sweetheart and business behind to endure the cruel fate of Eastland's corrupt authority and the rowdy bikers – the Copperheads – who run the town. Getting out of this mess proves to be as dubious as doubt can be, so Charlotte is forced to suffer three full, humid weeks of community service, but on the plus side Hawk has the same punishment. Sharing jokes and idle chatter, they both form something hotter than mere friendship but Hawk's isolation is there for a reason. He’s a man who has nothing to lose, he wants a good dose of revenge and getting tangled up with Charlotte will only end up with her six feet under and very dead.
Vows he does make, but neither he nor Charlotte can stay away from each other, feigning distance while crossing steamy lines and toying with peril. Hawk's days are irrevocably numbered, and submitted to a fate that only comes faster he tries to steer Charlotte away with equal force, but irrespective of that she will always be his number one priority: he has to protect her. As the town's conspiracies unfold and as Hawk's enemies come for him, Eastland's hush hush town of humid fear and clandestine tactics lays promise for bad endings.
In a backwater town where consequences are menacingly chancy and a closed mouth offers the best source of safety, Charlotte is left with unviable choices with every avenue pointing to Hawk, danger or no. As this sweet, edgy biker's world opens up for Charlotte she opens up back, and finds something better than which she left behind.
Hawk has an aim and it doesn’t include living. Charlotte has a goal and it includes finding a way to get out of this town, but objectives tend to change when a person makes you see otherwise.
Though 'Forbidden Crush' was still a decent read, after reading her reverse harem standalones, I have to say that I prefer them to Cassie Cole's monogamy based stories surprisingly. I did find this fun but it wasn’t the best story. Hawk is lovely with a tough edge, and if you like stories about strong, burly men with a soft, vulnerable streak then this one's for you!
Trigger Warning: Drug use and mention, sex scenes and swearing
I am a fan of Cassie Cole and have given her other books high reviews. She is definitely talented and very enjoyable to read.
This book, however, is a major disaster. First, having been around bikers my entire life, I found this book ridiculous. Eye rolling every two seconds. 🙄 This is your stereotypical "biker gang" vs a "changed man". Very disappointed on how all the bikers we're portrayed.
Second, most of this book wasn't believable. The law enforcement over multiple counties not doing anything? Just avoiding, really? The gang letting a man live AND walk around, hanging out, fall instantly in love, after stealing a mass amount of money. Yeah right!
Lastly, the romance😣. Fail. They think they love each other before they go on date, actually get to know each other, or even get down and dirty. They have literally been working together a week or two and are in love. There is only one kiss before the love each other. This one kiss is after flailing around, on the ground 🙄, laughing at something idiotic. That was the cheesiest thing I have read. I love how the author specifically said, "like some cheesy romance novel" right after that. Ya, it was cheesy and cringe worthy.
This book honestly doesn't deserve a star but negative stars are not a current option. I don't recommend, even if I am a fan of the author. Let's chalk this book up to a really bad day and forget about it the best we can. I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.
While leaving her boyfriend, Charlotte ends up arrested in a small town and sentenced to do community service. Hawk ends up being in the jail cell next to her and they wind up doing community service together. As they spend time together, sparks begin to fly but Hawk does his best to keep a wall up as someone is out to hurt him and he doesn’t want anyone he cares about to get hurt. Will he be able to keep Charlotte safe? Fast-paced read with plenty of drama and great chemistry. An entertaining story.
Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author.

I would say that this is more of a 2.5 rating. I liked Charlotte and Hawk. I just felt like too much bad was happening to her. It felt unreal. I was glad that it all worked out in the end though.
It used to be pretty popular to demonize Southerners by making them out to be a bunch of yokels that made you disappear if you happened to be from out of town and stumbled into their domain. Well, I guess this author must have just finished watching “Deliverance” when she got the bright idea to turn it into a “romance”.
We have the Hero of the story, Hawk. The tattooed biker boy and the Heroine, Charlotte. She stumbles into the town of Eastland by following a detour that plants her smack in the middle of a gang run twilight zone and is pulled over by a meaner version of Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane. Luckily for Charlotte, her trip to the loserville jail on trumped up charges leaves her paired up with the only “gorgeous” biker in town. How convenient is that?
And don’t think little Miss Charlotte hasn’t noticed that she has the biker version of Chris Hemsworth in the cell next to her. Oh no. One look at the messy hair, biker beard and sleeves of tattoos and suddenly it makes landing in Backwater USA worthwhile. Except that she is then taken to the town’s Boss Hogg the next day for judgment on a riverbank and assigned 120 hours of community service. At the end of this debacle, she’s given her phone, which of course is overflowing with messages from her mother, but does she call her mother or anyone that could help her? No, she decides that taking a hot shower, changing clothes, eating junk food and getting drunk is vastly more important than getting help. The the author must have some issue with blondes, since Charlotte is a blonde, and is running with the whole dumb blonde theme. She even has Charlotte describe herself as: “I’m just a stupid girl who got stuck here on her way back to Atlanta.” Wow.
I guess we are to believe that very little progress has managed to make it’s way to Georgia in the 21st century. Especially considering this story takes place near Atlanta, which held the Olympic games in 1996. So that must be the last time anything was upgraded. Charlotte later comments on the ancient computer in the office of the motel and the slow internet connection, but then somehow manages to watch Netflix on her laptop? Oh well, the bright side is that with such low technology, she has almost zero chance of becoming sick from 5G EMF's.
After a hard day picking up trash in stilettos with the hunky Hawk, Charlotte’s father, another small town sheriff who she finally calls, let’s her know that there isn’t any thing he can do for her. Um, what? So now, not only is the South unsafe, out of date and backwards, but apparently southern parents are also lacking. Because it seems as if dear old dad is all too willing to let his daughter rot in this gang run town instead of contacting the state police or even federal law enforcement. Seems odd that even a Sheriff in a small town doesn't realize that there is a pretty good case for kidnapping or that the Copperheads are probably on the Feds radar and would be more than happy for a break in the case. Thanks dad. Hope you aren’t expecting anything for Father’s day. Ever.
From here on we are subjected to various aspects of their days of community service. It’s all pretty typical filler for a book that has probably been constructed using a story generator available on the Internet. The author even pokes fun at her own book by having Charlotte thinking this: “He was only seconds from ripping my clothes off and making love to me on the soft grass like in a cheesy romance novel.” And, there you go.
Next, we have the pleasure of reading through a really lame bar fight that will have you rolling your eyes. Considering Hawk was, until recently, a member of the Copperheads, he is a surprisingly bad fighter. You’d think that as someone who’d spent a lot of time with the other members of the gang, he would be more acquainted with their fighting styles and therefore would be better prepared. But no, he only escapes with help from the bartender. Hawk then goes home, where he finds Charlotte waiting. It’s now pouring rain. I had to stop reading here, at the 50% mark, because it now goes into detail about how fashionable his renovated barn is and he says to her: “You need some fresh clothes before I let you sit on any of my furniture.” LOL, really? Ooo, the big bad biker doesn’t want his décor damaged by the dripping Charlotte. Of course, at this point, he gives her a long shirt and sends her to the bathroom. Hopefully, this will finally kick off some “romance”, but I’m not sticking around to find out. This story is just too dopey to go on.
So, if you’re looking for a book that reads like a bad 1970’s movie script, with cell phones added, then this is your lucky day. It’s a bit tedious, with a lot of young adult angst and fairly trite storytelling. But if you are thinking that this is going to be a sexy biker story, it isn’t. The only action is in Charlotte’s dreams and the silly text messages for the first half of the book.
After finding out that her boyfriend and business partner is cheating on her Charlotte packs up and leaves to go to her parents. On the way she gets pulled over by a cop in this corrupt little town. The cop arrests her even though she was cooperating with him. The next day when she sees the judge she ends up stuck in this town with no license and a lot of community service hours. She runs into the man that had been in the cell across from hers when she shows up for community service together they work to get their time in. Sparks fly between them but Charlotte isn't acting on it because she is hoping her dad can get her out of her time there. Hawk sticks close to Charlotte because he wants to protect her from the bad people in town but he also wants to make her his. The local MC is after Hawk because he supposedly stole something from them and they rough him up while they are doing their community service. Will Hawk be able to keep them both safe until Charlotte can leave? Can Charlotte convince Hawk to leave town with her?
This is a great story that will have you on the edge of your seat until the end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I liked this one. I gave it a 4 vs 5 star review as I felt it was missing some needed grit, intensity & a little more something to suck me completely into Charlene (h) & Hawk's (H) lives, relationship & predicament. A corrupt small backroad Southern town, corrupt sheriff & judge, a MC gang that committed crimes as they wanted, an innocent naïve out of town woman & an ex-biker with more than one deep dark secret trying to escape his past & his demons. Not a time to find the woman his heart wants. The plot & the characters, good & bad, were excellent, & my interest was held enough that not finishing it did not cross my mind nor did I skip over anything. But despite the excellence of the plot & characters, Charlene's (Peaches) POV just seemed too -detached- to me. As though she was writing a report about things that happened long ago so her emotions were no longer engaged, as though telling a story to her grandchildren. Hawk's POV, to me, seemed more steeped in emotional currents & I was more engaged during his chapters. I did greatly enjoy how the author wrapped things about at the end, & I for one did not see the resolution that came about. So, a very good book that I did enjoy, but it needed just that extra little push of grit, emotion & intensity to be superb (IMO).

Charlene has been working extremely long hours with her boyfriend on their food truck and consequently their relationship has suffered and now he wants a break but as she finds out he has been playing the field for linger than he has said so she decides enough is enough and she leaves now she is heading back to her home town but a road diversion puts her in a small town and arrested even though she has done nothing wrong. While in the cell she is loaned a jacket by the man in the cell next to her Hawke was a member of Copperhead MC the local MC He walke away from them when he learnt they where dealing drugs and on the way he liberated quite a bit of cash and the MC's revenge was to kill his sister. Now he is determined to get revenge on the MC and if that means taking down the corrupt cops as well then he will do it . When they are both convicted and given community service they will get to know one another but Hawke needs to keep her safe while not letting anyone know that he is starting to have feelings for her Will they both get away safe will Hawke get his revenge You need to read to see
I love this author as she always has a great storyline with amazing characters. Even though this is not the usual reverse harem style story, I am so glad she has branched out with something new. What a great read, an absolute gift with words. This book is about Hawk and Charlotte. Hawk is part of the Copperhead MC and believes it's best to stay unattached and devote himself to the club. It has cost him in the past and figures it's best to keep the future hassle free. Charlotte is a newly single woman travelling through the small town of Eastend at the worst time possible and gets caught up and delayed. We get a great story with plenty of characters to challenge Hawk and Charlitte and entertain us readers the whole way through the book. As well as a whole lot of sexy steaminess between Hawk and Charlotte. Overall, another great book by this author. I cannot wait to see what is next, I would pick up anything she writes, it has never disappointed me yet.

My first read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it... I notice her usual trope is reverse harem... which isn’t really my thing so perhaps that’s why she hasn’t been on my reading radar before. Great dialogue, engaging storyline and really likeable, real characters. I loved Charlotte, she had just enough sass and humour to make her a real person that I could totally get.... no silly drama. Hawk what a loveable rogue...I appreciated his gruff exterior and sarcastic wit. Also liked that neither character changed into saps further into the book which really annoys me.!! All in all a great read. The writing was both visual and well detailed... I could picture everything clearly...the few scenes with her ex had me chuckling as they were well described and compared the two men beautifully... Read it for what it is .... small town escapism.... and you won’t be disappointed 😏 I received an arc from hidden gems and I am choosing to leave a review.
Forbidden Crush by Cassie Cole is a well written romantic suspense full of danger, drama, steam and suspense. Charlotte is a strong and resilient woman, down on her luck and stuck, but stuck in equally dangerous and delicious ways. Hawk is the quintessential bad boy with a heart of gold that is battered and bruised, highly protective and determined to deny all things good, including Charlotte. I really enjoyed this romantic suspense because of the danger and the deliciousness that is Hawk and his alpha protector nature. Charlotte is also a great character that is truly strong in spite of the multitude of things stacked against her. Her attitude and humor was fantastic. Overall, this author created an awesome book with great characters and a very engaging and interesting plot. I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
This is a good small town tale featuring a sweet, budding romance that’s heavy on the steam factor, with some entertaining antics provided by the town’s locals. I enjoyed the interactions between Charlotte and the corrupt sheriff and judge, who were responsible for her forced stay in Eastland. Charlotte and Hawk had an intense, immediate attraction which, given his circumstances with the Copperhead biker gang, each struggled to deny. Throw in Charlotte’s ex-boyfriend and her parents and this is an entertaining story all around. There was however, a surprising revelation that left me questioning the integrity of those involved. While I didn’t find this story to be overly suspenseful, there was certainly an element of danger present whenever the local MC came to town.

This story wasn’t what I expected at all. What happens when your boyfriend takes a break from you and you still run a business and share a place and on a business meeting you find out he has moved on. What does Charlotte do she runs away on her way to her parents only to run into a crooked sheriff and has countless hours of community service for something she did not do and this town is also ran by a biker gang.
Hawk he crossed that biker gang but doesn’t leave town and man do they punish him and he takes it when he sees Charlotte he wants her but doesn’t want her to get caught in his bad business with the gang.
This story is a complete roller coaster ride this is one ride I enjoyed being on. I voluntarily received an arc through Booksprout for my honest review.

Hawk is a dead man walking in the small town of Eastland, GA. He betrayed the Copperheads MC and they own the town. The small-town sheriff and judge don’t do anything unless the Copperheads president, Sid, gives them permission.
Charlotte just wants to get home to Atlanta after a breakup with her boyfriend. Charlotte got up in the middle of a business dinner with her boyfriend and left to pack up her stuff and leave after seeing a text on his phone. Little does she know that her luck is about to get worse after she is stopped by the sheriff.
This was an interesting book. The differences between the main characters, the instant attraction and the portrayal of the MC were a bit different than most MC’s I’ve read. I give this book a 3.5-star review and recommend it to readers who enjoy MC Romance, corrupt police, and opposites attraction.
WOWSTER THIS BOOK HAS A BIT OF EVERYTHING FOR EVERYONE This book kept me hooked till the very last word. It had betrayal, it had romance, It had PASSION, it had corruption, it had evil, it had faith and it had love. I couldnt put this book down, the storyline was so good I was willing on Charlotte and Hawk with every fibre in my being. To see true love when Hawk had only seen death in his future. But even when he knew Charlotte could change his outlook revenge was a stronger vice. But would revenge see him lose everything??? This book is soooooooo good it makes me what to start reading it all over again!! I wish I could give you more stars this book is Fantastic

This story is sizzling, exciting and dangerous. Charlotte (Peaches) finds herself in a bit of a mess when she leaves her cheating boyfriend in the middle of the night. She ends up in jail in the small town of Eastland. She finds herself in a jail cell beside a hot and dangerous looking biker. This is just the beginning in their journey of revenge and love. A corrupt town that will not forget the young woman who ended up their town by accident. Her community service ended up being so much more to the small town of corrupt public officials and a nasty biker club. I highly recommend this book. I could not put it down, once I began reading it!

This was an entertaining book that will have you hooked from page one. This panty melting story is filled with humor, action and nail biting suspense Can things get any worse for Charlotte? She finds out that her boyfriend who is also her business partner is cheating on her and on her way back home to her parents home she takes a wrong turn and lands up in jail!!! Now she finds herself doing community service and is partnered with Hawk her jail mate and an ex biker from a gang that runs and terrorizes the corrupt town of Eastland. Charlotte gets herself thrown in jail and met Hawk, a troubled member of a MC. 3 weeks of community service. The attraction between the two is flaming hot! Hawk is definitely sexy broody hot male and Charlotte a sassy woman!
The story line is great! There's plenty of humor, suspense, action and sexy scenes. This book will definitely hit the spot! I didn't want to put the book down. Cassie draws you in, making you feel every emotion, like you right there! I can't wait to see what else she brings.

Charlotte finds out her boyfriend /business partner is cheating on her and see leaves. On her way to her parents house, she gets pulled over by the sheriff in Eastland, GA. This is the most corrupt town which is basically being run by the motorcycle gang, the Cooperheads. Hawk is seeking revenge on the motorcycle gang for killing his sister, but they think he is hiding something. Charlotte and Hawk met in jail and you feel the connection between them. Then they get forced to do community service together and the attraction grows. The book was okay but it was missing something. Maybe it was because I not really into MC genre. I received a ARC of this book in exchange for a honest review.
I am used to reading Cassie Cole's reverse harem stories but I will gladly read anything she writes from now on as well. This was so well-written and the characters developed so beautifully. They had depth and caught your attention from the beginning. It makes you want to learn more about them. Lets not forget that they are also hot hot hot together. I loved the epilogue (I do love a good epilogue). You have another great story!

Get me a fan cause I need to cool myself off after this one. Those dreams (fans herself)!! Cassie does it again with the perfect amount of heat and story. Hawk is the bad boy to end all bad boys. This town is so corrupt even other police don't want to get involved. Charlotte and Hawk find love in a town that doesn't want to see them together. Of course this a romance so there is a Happily Ever After.

This is a steamy and engrossing romance between a young strongheaded beautiful newly single woman driving through the wrong small town at the wrong time. The only good that can come out of it is meeting the handsome, rough and tough biker Hawk.
A whirlwind romance, with great characters and a well developed plot that feels real. And the ending is humorous, suspensful and sweet.

Absolutely fantastic! This is a great read that is fast pace, action-packed, and exciting. The twists and turns, suspense, secrets, and danger around every corner make for an incredible read and will spike your heart rate. The characters are realistic, well developed, and believable; the chemistry between them is instant, intense, and off the charts. Definitely recommended.

I really liked the sound of the blurb for this book
I really liked the sound of the blurb for this book which is my I downloaded from kindle unlimited. I just couldn’t click with the story or find a connection with the characters which is a shame as I really did like the sound of this book. Even thow it wasn’t for me I’m sure their are readers out there who will like/love this book. If that’s you then happy reading for you. I will give this author another go in the future!
Oh Lordy—you won’t be able to put this kickass read down! I started it this morning and simply could not put it down. The storyline is freakin amazing; the characters are totally believable...and oh so hot🔥; the plot twists and turns are awesome; and the HEA? Oh man...it’s so good! You really need to grab this bad boy today. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and absolutely loved it!) ❤️❤️
This is a first for me by this author and i am absolutely in love with the writing and this story. I truly adored Hawk and Charlottes story so much, i could not put down. It had just the right amount of drama, tension, suspense and danger and love that i love in a book. Hawk knew it was better to keep his distance to keep her safe from his ex MC but couldnt help but be drawn to her and just simply couldnt stay away. Really great book!!!
Loved Hawk and Charlotte's story! This is a story about a crooked small town that bends to the MC and especially the president of the club. Hawk can't stay away, but also knows that if the MC club figured out his feelings for Charlotte, she would have to fight for her life. Loved this story. It shows how the saying, "with a little help from your friends" is a major benefit! I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a different type of MC book. This book focused on a former member trying to get his revenge while living in a corrupt town. Charlotte got caught up in this town after trying to go home. I like how this book focused on the relationship between Hawk and Charlotte while bringing aspects of the MC and corrupt officials into it. It was a good book.

The book was ok. Very unrealistic in a lot of ways, a lot of stereotypes, fast love, biker gangs, etc. I could see bits and parts of the book that were really worked well but others failed miserably. I would have like to have read about 20-30 more pages of the book if it would have been able to add what was missing and depth of the characters. I received this book as an ARC and I am voluntarily giving my review.
