Irina Nikolaevna Yakovleva - Soviet and Russian writer - storyteller, paleontologist. Graduated from Moscow State University. MV Lomonosov (ichthyology). From 1956 to 1974 - employee of the Paleontological Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1969 she began to publish, chose the prehistoric world as her theme, and children as her readership.
The most popular book is the book "Paleontology in Pictures", which has been reprinted many times and translated into 28 foreign languages. In co-authorship with her husband Yakovlev Vladimir Nikolaevich in the 1980s she wrote a book about prehistoric flora and fauna "In the footsteps of the past", addressed to older children. In those same years, her quite traditional fairy tale "The Forgetful Mouse" was published.
Since 2015 he has been living in the village of Borok, Yaroslavl Region.
