Finally a RH by this author!
I loved the first Terraway book but was disappointed it wasn’t a reverse harem. The cover doesn’t do it justice but this book is amazing and it’s a reverse harem!
- Multiple POVs
- No damsel in distress
- No sex pure story. I can’t remember the last RH I read where they’re concerned over a first kiss!
- No jealousy among the guys.
- No info dumps
- No sudden cliffhanger
- The guys are the ones needing protection (Well Des at least)
But most of all no academy or bullying in sight.
I loved the three guys, Des, Salem and Alex. A vampire, a shifter and a Fae trying to gain peace between their territories. The brotherhood between them is so genuine, the character building is a breath of fresh air.
Favourite character was actually Ronin. I love the relationship between him and Lily, giving her something she never had. I did feel sorry for Salem, his part in the story is gonna be the hardest. Can’t wait for the next one!

I'm undecided about this book. Some things I really loved, but others I thought it pulled a bait-and-switch on the readers about, and it includes one of my BIGGEST PET PEVES. Let me address that first, since I probably won't be able to concentrate until I get it out of the way.
One of my biggest pet peeves: When the male MC falls in love with the female MC because she talks back to him in a way no one else will. (Here it's actually not any of the male MC that do this, but it's someone super integral to the plot. So, I'm calling it same-same). My problem with this logic as it plays out here (and almost every time authors do this) is that people don't talk back to this powerful individual because he'll kill or punish them if they do. But he doesn't kill or punish the female MC when she does this...because she's special...because she does it? It's circular. And presumes she's special prior to the very thing she's being singled out as special for. Arg. I hate this so much and Lilya is seriously mouthy to people she shouldn't mouth off to and gets away with it. What's worse is that she's no where near as brave with other people, so it doesn't even fit her personality in the rest of the book.
A positive, Salem. I loved Salem. Why didn't we get more Salem? And why does poor Salem get so shafted? We have a heroine who will loom and yell at a king, but can't tell a man who she longs for that she's not disgusted by him? Three friends who will do anything for each other (including changing the whole structure of society), but neither of the other two will clear up the VERY OBVIOUS MISUNDERSTANDING to bring their best friend and love some happiness and end of distress?
The bait and switch: It's a reverse harem. Two of the three men are handsy as heck. They sleep together and make out, etc. But there's not a single sex scene in the whole book (even after months having passed after marriage). It sets up an erotic plot line and then doesn't deliver any...at all.
For all that, I basically enjoyed it. I don't know if I'd seek out the sequel for any reason except to see Salem finally get his happy ending. But I didn't not enjoy it.

I ADORED the slow-burn love that happened in this story. The friendships between the fae, shifter and vampire princes immediately drew me in. Who can resist a bromance of that calibre? Certainly not me. Add in a lively, moral and considerate kick-ass female lead and I was highly enjoying the story from the beginning.
What really separated this book from many others in its genre, of which I would classify as reverse harem romance, was the slow nature of the relationships building between the characters. Especially the romantic relations. In a story that’s openly classified as a harem I was expecting insta-love, alpha males, jealousy and steamy scenes. A lot of steamy scenes. This book did not have that and I was unexpectedly pleased with it. The budding affection that each character had for each other was so sweet. It melted my heart and was the main reason for my rating.
I was conflicted when having to review this book. Partly because when you’re reviewing you have to keep in mind that not everyone loves the same things as you do. So, full disclaimer: this rating is purely concerning my personal enjoyment factor of the book and hasn’t taken in to account some of the issues that the book has, which weren’t too big of a deal for me but can be for others. I couldn’t help but feel the need to justify my rating, as I’m aware that a book that pulls on my sappy heart strings will always be rated higher
Things to note about this book: it’s relatively short, has multiple points of view and the steam level was much lower than expected.
CHARACTERS
Lilya – A lively, kick-ass heroine that displayed a strong moral compass as well as the compassion for those in need. The contradiction between the strong and more vulnerable sides of her personality made her an interesting character to read. At times, her naivete was frustrating but she genuinely meant well which made up for a lot of my frustration at times. Considering her troubled past she was unexpectedly kind to people, yet this did not mean she was unable to stand up for herself. She wasn’t a hardened, cynical character that I had been expecting from the book blurb. Rather, she came across as genuine in her assessment of others and reactions to them.
Alexavier – Prince of the Fae. My second favourite character. Partly because so much about him is still unknown after reading the first book. He’s loyal, responsible, considerate and protective. His quiet support of Lilya and his friends in this story captured my heart. I can’t wait to learn more about him and his culture in the sequel!
Destino – Prince of the Vampires. A laid-back, witty guy Destino was a guy that could charm just about everyone. He was instantly likeable and his consideration of others gained my respect.
Salem – Prince of the Shifters. A contradiction between a strong, experienced warrior and an incredibly protective, shy man desperately in love. He was by far my favourite character. I can’t wait to see where the next story takes him!
ON ANOTHER NOTE:
There were quite a few aspects of this book that would have decreased my rating considerably if I hadn’t caught all the FEELS for their slow-burn romance. These included the lack of action or events. This story was mainly character driven and slow. There was not a lot of action or plot to keep readers on their toes. If you’re more of an emotional reader though (like me) then this probably won’t bother you much. Also, there was not a lot of world-building despite the unique potential the author had in this book. There was a lot of potential there for this to be a focal point of the book. With the exception of stating the hatred between the races, there was no explanation of how this came to be or much interaction with each race.
Additionally, the reason this story wasn’t five stars is that I was expecting a misunderstanding (I’m trying to avoid spoilers as much as possible) between Prince Salem of the shifters and Lilya to be addressed before the ending. I kept getting closer to the end and was waiting and waiting for a scene between them. When none came I was disappointed. I’m sure it will be covered in the sequel but I would have liked it to be addressed even remotely in the ending of Vengeful Prince.

I absolutely loved this book! In the beginning it starts off to carch your attention and draw you in. I was fully invested and had it read in 2 days. I was a little caught off guard in the fact its 3 men and one girl. However it works for them right now. I will also always love how clearly she writes these worlds and characters they all have these clearly different personalities. I love it. I was so hooked and of course ends in the traditional "oh my gosh!" Cliffhanger we all love the writer for. I cant wait for the next!

This is a well written paranormal romance with strong characters and an interesting story line. The author does a great job building the story and filling it with tons of action and steam. She brings a hot chemistry between Hannah and her three prince's and does a fantastic job bringing out the emotions. The story moves quickly and smoothly and I enjoyed reading.

This paranormal story includes vampires, shifters and fae. Three princes' offer a cast-out fae the role of helping to heal their Territories. Never loved or felt a part of the people she comes from, Hannah must decide if she can trust these men.
I love a story that sucks you in. That is what happened in this one. I couldn't put it down or want it to end. The characters we real in their feelings and actions. I like how they are working together.

I really liked this. The shifter, fae, and vampire kingdoms are on the brink of war, and the princes are tired of it and ready to take drastic measures. The shifter and fae prince decide that the vampire prince needs to marry a woman from one of the other kingdoms, and the shifter prince can't think of anyone better equipped to handle the dangerous job than the woman he's secretly in love with. This woman has a lot of secrets though, and her history with the fae prince is only one of them.
I absolutely love the fae prince. He cracks me up. The vampire prince is a good boy too. The shifter prince was the weak link for me here. I totally understand his insecurities, but he didn't make any progress with the MC AT ALL, so, when the revelation near the end came, I didn't really care because it hadn't seemed like he'd ever get his shit together enough to be with the MC anyway.
I was a bit worried that the vampire king was going to join the harem, but it looks like that going to be a different type of weird relationship. And thank god because I did NOT want a guy and his great grandfather to be in the same harem. Ew.
Although the MC's relationships with the vampire and fae prince seem to develop quickly, it still manages to feel natural.
Here's hoping that book 2 is already out and I don't have to wait!
(I just realized that I don't get the title of this book. Whotf was supposed to be the "vengeful" prince? There was no vengeance here.)

It feels like I’m reading book #2.
The flow doesn’t feel organic and the pace seems a little fast.
Plus:
- Odd timely moments of Lily mothering the guys.
- Way too innocent romance (Can be nice) that makes it seem as if the MC is 17 years old (Lily is 24) like holding hands with just a pinkie several times?
- Lily and Destino's great grandfather King Ronin weird interaction that came off unnatural. That went from fear, distrust, caring and concern to saying "I love you" in just a few pages.
The story kept me going because of the dynamic that Lily has with the guys. Especially Prince Salem (shy and a big softie). But I probably won't continue with the series.
PS The cover doesn't match the story. It just reads like a YA.

Part 1 of 3 - No cliffhanger per say, more HFN - highly recommend!
Highly recommend this book. I was engaged from the very beginning. Plus the best part is ALL 3 parts of the princes’ stories are available to read immediately.
Not sure I can adequately describe how much I loved this story and how much I am looking forward to the next book. There are a few grammatical errors, but nothing that I couldn’t figure very quickly, or so numerous that it warranted lowering the rating.
The premise of the three parts are focused on reducing the hate and violence between the Fae, vampires, and shifters. Each has established their own territory, and against all odds, the princes from the various houses are best friends. They have been plotting for years to find a way to lessen the hatred and divide between the various factions. Then one of them comes up with the idea of having Des, the vampire prince, marry a woman from another house.
Prince Salem, the shifter prince, knows just the woman, Lilya, an outcast Fae that works in the neutral zone. He admits he has been in love with her for 5 years, but knows he can never have her, and wants her to be protected. Now they just need to convince Des and Lilya, before tackling the entrenched vampire King Ronin and the hatred of the vampire people.
It was easy to see how this storyline mirrors some of the real world, unfortunately it is a lot harder to get resolution IRL.
While this does contain subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, it is related to violence, fighting, etc.
There are NO intimate scenes, just some kissing, hugging, etc., and no discussion about how the proposed marriage would work later. I have seen several comments about this, so here is my opinion:
- the couple just met
- Lilya has no experience with men
- Lilya is still hiding what happened to her and the circumstances around her ending up in the neutral territory as a young child
- with the proposal from the vampire king, they may have decided to wait until all areas are represented (don’t want to go into too many details so I don’t accidentally provide any spoilers)

While the reasoning for the relationship setup was a little of a stretch, I enjoyed the development between the FMC Hannah/Lilya and the three princes and how they stood up to their parents to defend their relationships.
Similar to the other reviews, I found the King Ronin and Lilya relationship dynamic a bit off and too intimate for something that was probably meant to be more of a grandfatherly type of contact? It was kinda weird, but the rest of the story was a nice read. The other issue that slightly bothered me was how clean their physical contact was -- most of it stopped at kissing with no resolution even though they were already declaring deep love for each other.
I'll likely pick up the next book in the series to see what happens with the fae kingdom.

Really Enjoyed

I'm looking forward to what happens when Lilya's father realizes she isn't dead. Also, how will Lilya and Salem be together if she has to marry his brother?

What?!!
I really liked this one despite the kind of instalove but it wasn't immediate soulmates kind of love it was a sort of long lost once upon a time love. Lots of mystery, feeling and kind of sad.
So much left untied and tangled up. Good gravy. Gimme the rest right now!!!!

Mary E. Twomey has created a very realistic world where there are three kingdoms and an area where everyone who has been tossed out of the kingdoms survive. Fantastic world building and the characters are remarkable. Each character is quite in depth. They are each different, with different strengths, differences and backgrounds, but they are all like minded. You will laugh, cry, cheer and be on edge as you read this phenomenal story. I am really looking forward to the next story, really the rest of the series.

In this story, the two princes, Alex the fae prince and Destino the vampire prince, and Salem the shifter ruler, were all friends and trying to figure some way to unite all the kingdoms. They would meet at a cave and discuss what they could do until Salem comes up with a way. He is in love with a fae female who lives in the town of the tossed away. He knows that she is a tough cookie and she could handle living in a kingdom not her own. Since the shifters are in the middle of a drought, he feels that Destino the vampire should marry her.
You meet beautiful Lily, that is her real name, not the name that people have known her for almost two decades. Her father kicked her out when an accident happened. He through her into the shifter kingdom at the age of eight years old. He was hoping that they would kill her because if the truth of the accident came out, it would tarnish his golden reputation of General. She was attacked with a claw mark across her face, but she did survive. She is now the bar maid and assistant healer in the town of no kingdom. Salem has been coming to her bar for some time. He doesn't say much, but she feels safe when he is around. When they come and propose their idea, she goes along with it. It comes out what her real name is and Alex realizes that she is the small girl he used to have tea parties with when they were children. It hurt him when she was proclaimed dead. Now they can resume their friendship, but it is more than that. It seems that all three men are in love with her, but her destiny is with Destino.

3.75,but rounded up because there was a lot to like about this.
There are three territories: vampire, shifter and Fae, who all pretty much loathe each other. Apart from one heir to the throne from each province, who have been desperately trying to find a way to bring the hatred to an end. They've tried lots of things, but none of them are working. So they think bigger and plan to marry their heir of the vampire throne to a Fae girl to try and force progressive change. Cue Liliya, an outcast Fae from the age of 8 who has managed to survive in a sort of no man's land between all three zones. She obviously goes for the plan, or they'd be no story, and they begin on their quest.
While the world building wasn't massively original (pretty hard to be with paranornal books these days) I thought it was successful.
I also feel like real effort was made with the characterisation here and I like that there are only 3 guys, as each of them feels genuine and mostly trope free. Liliya was a liakeble character and her brand of magic has good potential.
There a few things that I didn't like as much, mainly due to my own preferences in books as opposed to their being anything wrong with it, so these things may well not bother others at all.
In many ways this read like a YA book. In fact, there wasn't trally anything that wasn't YA appropriate. The characters are on their 20's I believe, but their narrative voices and the way they speak, apart from maybe Salem, makes them come across as younger. There's a sort of juvenile joking, which is quite sweet, as it shows their bond, but makes the characters seem younger. There is also very, very mild heat or anything physical, mainly because Liliya is a virgin, but it would have felt out of place with the tone of the book. However, there's nothing wrong with either of these things, I'm just not usually a massive fan of YA or YA toned characters.
The only main gripe is there's an awful lot of rather quick love going on. While things physically go slow, emotionally they don't, and while this didn't bother me anywhere near the amount it usually tends to do oi books (probably because it wasn't all about the physical made this feel more genuine) I still was a bit cynical about it all. Same goes for her and King Ronin, although I did think that was quite sweet.
All in all I would definitely recommend this, particularly if YA type toned books don't bother you.

Love for Lilly as a Bridge to Unity
It is difficult being an heir to a vampire throne when in reality a vampire can live for an immeasurable amount of time if the proper steps are taken by the ruler, unless that ruler chooses to abdicate. That is the fact that Prince Destino Karamathian has come to realize that his parents have yet to understand or accept. By putting the ideas within the world of magic, the ideas become possible and less threatening to consider. Author Mary E. Twomey helps her readers begin to explore the possibilities of coexisting as barriers are eroded through love. This series looks to be engaging and thought provoking, and I look forward to the on-going adventures and challenges of the three friends and the woman whom they all come to love.

I was enthralled from the first page. The author's writing style will draw you in and captivate you with humour, masterfully crafted characters and emotion that is palpable. Lilya's father deserves to be hung, drawn and quartered for what he did to her when she was a child over something that was not her fault and would haunt her for the rest of her life anyway. But she is a strong woman who has made a life for herself out of nothing. The three men, a vampire, a shifter and a fae, are all easy to fall in love with and yet are so incredibly different from each other but their differences compliment each other. I loved the sass, the snark and the genuine love between these four although Lilya is new to the dynamic she slots in pretty easily. The three men are trying to unite their three people who have been feuding for far too long so there is political intrigue and violence. When that violence perpetrated by the King breaks Destino's heart Lilya and the two other princes are there to lend their support. This promises to be an outstanding series and I cannot wait for the next book.

Three Princes from three different territories (vamps, shifters, fae) are all friends. Their kingdoms hate one another though. They want to change that, so they decided that the vamp prince should marry someone of fae blood. They want to unite the kingdoms as allies. Hannah has been in the Neutral Territory since she was eight. The reason is one she believes is horrid and can never get over. She has a special ability she believes is horrible as well. She was taken in by a fae healer who taught her many things. She agrees to marry the vamp prince. She finds herself drawn to each man for a different reason, as they do her! She was thought dead, but her childhood friend discovers differently. Now, they are at the kingdom of the vamps and so many things go wrong. The King is hard and does not favor the alliances, he cannot stand Hannah, others want her dead or runoff. Then comes a change in everything and the one person they never thought would be on their side~ This is a reverse harem but it has a great romance, friendships, and full of action. Princes Salem and Alexavier have chosen Destino to marry Lilya, if he can convince her, in order to hopefully unite or at least bring peace to their kingdoms. As they get to know each other better, secrets that have been dormant for years begin to surface, and all of their lives are now in jeopardy. Will the Princes and Lilya find a way overcome the the hatred and attempted-murders or will they bend to the ill-will of others?
Ms. Twomey engulfs us in a tale of love, loyalty, royalty, and paranormal species living on the brink of war. In Vengeful Prince, I found the plot engaging and kept me on my toes while the characters were full of many different personalities that I found to either love or hate them. Final score probably a 4.5 out of 10. It just doesnt rock my boat. Right I'll be quite honest and say I'm not a RH fan. Had I known it was an RH I wouldnt have touched it. I didnt realise it was a RH book either until further on in the plot.
The storyline obviously is written to make it a RH, as at some point all 3 male characters are heads in love with the female character. And the storyline is written such that eventually all 3 will have to share her. But yea definately not my subgenre... One of the saving graces I guess for me with this book is that the female main character doesn't make it past making out with any of the male characters. So I was spared anything beyond that.
On a critique the narrative was easy to read and easy to get sucked into. The plot contained some intriguing ideas but it doesn't seem to stand out to me as much more than the usual RH trope. I won't be reading any of the other novels. I feel a bit guilty rating it so low but again its my bias, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

A good paranormal story featuring all time favourites shifters, vampires and faes. The supernaturals are at odds with each other and the three princes, who are friends, decide that it is time for a change – clue in the heroine who is suppose to save them all. So not only a ‘reverse harem’ but also reverse role with no damsel in distress for once, more or less.
The romance is very slow burning as is the action. Indeed, there were some missed opportunities on getting a bit more action of any kind involved. The vampire prince gets attacked in the opening scene by a shifter and what happens? Nothing, he continues his stroll. In general, I would classify this book more of a ‘maturish’ YA nature rather than a reverse harem steamy paranormal romance but that’s fine. You just have to set your expectations accordingly….

Wow is that cover and title misleading! This honestly reads like bad YA. Everything comes together for the most meager reasons. You're really asked to suspend your disbelief. For example, Lilya scolds the supposedly tyrant vampire king and because he likes her spunkiness all of a sudden he's a good guy? And speaking of the king, she keeps referring to him as a father figure in her internal monologues but the author makes a point to have them touch each other all the time as if he will become part of the harem at some point which??? Especially since he's the great-grandfather of her husband? I don't plan on reading the next books in this series.
Summary: The vampire prince, the shifter prince and the fae prince want their respective kingdoms to stop fighting with each other so they decide that the vampire prince should marry a fae. I am a big fan of the author's last few series. While I hate to see one end, it is also exciting to begin a new journey.
One common factor with many of her female lead characters is daddy issues. Lilya definitely falls in that group and has lived a very lonely life since her exile from her family and people. When three princes approach her with a very interesting proposal, she takes on the challenge.
I am enjoying the dynamics among the four of them. The three princes have had many obstacles to overcome to remain friends when there is so much distrust among the different paranormals. She fits right in with them. The chemistry is really strong too and I can already see some big potential issues on the horizon.
I am really looking forward to the next book.

This was a good start to a new series. The story line was intriguing and well-paced. The characters were likable and very well presented so that the reader could feel the emotional responses.
The three princes of the battling territories -- Destino, Salem and Alex -- set out to redeem the land their parents ruined. Destino believes the only way to unite the people is for him to marry a woman from one of the enemy territories — the land of the Fae, but that inadvertently puts dangerous attention on Lilya and makes things worse. I loved that a vampire, a shifter and a Fae were so awesome in working together to bring peace among their territories, even when it puts them in danger. Will they succeed? I love everything Mary E. Twomey writes and I am so excited for this new series!
Addicted! That's what I am to Mary E. Twomey's new exciting and heart throbbing series! As always, the characters Mary creates are fascinating and at times humorous. Lilya is definitely one smart and strong cookie! She has been through a lot of horrible experiences, but when the three princes of the different lands (who are all friends trying to find a way to bring all of their people together) propose a ridiculous yet completely makes sense proposal to her, she can't help but agree. The princes soon discover Lilya is much more than she seems when more about her past is brought to light. Safe to say, I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

First let me state that I received an Advance Reader Copy, (2), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review. This is my first time reading this author, and I hope it won't be my last.
Wow!!! This book started a bit slow, but then it took off. Lilya is a tough woman and has led a tough life. There are 4 territories, the vampires, the fae, the shifters, & the neutral territory. Obviously the first 3 speak for themselves. But the last is where the dregs of the 3 territories live. This is Lily's home. There are 3 princes, Prince Destino of the vampires, Prince Alexavier of the Fae, & Prince Salem of the shifters, and they are the best of friends. This story has so much going on that I was riveted. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up

What a fabulous story!! Such a fantastic start to a new series. The three prince's (Destino, Salem and Alexavier) are trying to gain peace in their territories. Their plan is to marry the heir of the vampire throne to a woman from one of the other kingdoms. Lilya was a liakeble, genuine and a kick ass spunky character. The storyline is captivating, and riveting, with a smooth flowing plot that was completely engrossing. The characters are so well written, I loved them all. Vengeful Prince is a fun, original and engaging read, with fae, shifters and vampires, this book has it all. I highly recommend this book for paranormal romance lovers.

Vengeful Prince by Mary E Twomey is the beginning of a new series. A good start.
Vampires, Fae, and Shifters. All in their own kingdom. All at war with each other. The three crowned Princes of the territory’s, Destino (vampire), Salem (shifter), and Alexavier (fae) have become friends in spite of the damage they feel their parents have done to the Kingdoms, only want to stop the fighting and restore peace across the territory’s. Their plan: each has to marry someone from another kingdom to tie them together.
