The only thing that keeps running through my mind is how depressing my life would be, if someone like Mason happen to accidentally grace my life and I had no backbone or dignity whatsoever.
Because this book is exactly about that and more!
Apparently our heroine was abused (both sexually and emotionally) by her father. So, what does she do when someone reminds of her dark dreary trauma?
She willingly fucks him of course

When a guy is calling you his 2nd bitch, first being the pet dog that he owns, you just know that there absolutely no hope for their relationship.
I mean, you don't even amount to that dog being a second.
Was that supposed to romantic ??
Being called his 2nd b** in heat?
I would have struggle my way through the end of the series; if they would end up going diff ways, you know the power of letting go toxic things / freeing yourself of dicks and such
but by the looks of it, that is highly impossible.
And let's be honest mason is going to be redeemed and that is only so much fuck i give about him.

This book deserves all the stars in universe!
You are in for A RIDE!! And there’s no going back! This book shattered everything left inside me. Made me feel every emotion possible and made me forget that there’s actually a real world. It was just me and the book and everyone else was forgotten. The characters we’re so messed up and their relationships are toxic as hell but this didn’t stop me from loving this book.
Goddamit!! This freaking story really changed something inside me and I saw how well represented toxic relationships and manipulative people are. Some things in this book kinda hurt to read about because I’ve experienced them myself but they were not romanticized in any way. I got to know how messed up in their brains those people are and how their minds work. I found myself shaking from anger and crying from laughter throughout the whole story. I’m gonna warn you, this is not an easy read because as I mentioned before, all characters are so toxic and the topics used might be triggering to some people so make sure to check the trigger warnings first.
Let’s talk about the writing style a little. I’ve never read something with this writing style before and it was a little hard to get used to it in the beginning but it captivated me and it made the story so much more sensitive and full of emotions. The authors did an amazing job, they truly made me live in the book and forget I’m a real person and not a character from the book. I can’t express my love for those books in words but trust me when I say, this book deserves everything! It was hot, steamy and full of tension. I would recommend this to romance lovers but again, this is a dark romance so there’s a lot of stuff you should be prepared about. This was my first dark romance but certainly not my last. I can’t wait to read more from these authors!

Have you ever fallen in love with a book from page one? Because the moment I opened this book I was in love. This book is so addicting, I couldn't stop reading for not even one second. The characters are messed up in the head and the story is so twisted and f*cked up, you will never know what happens next.
This book will leave you shocked, yelling and will have you experience so many emotions all at once. That is why I love it so much. No book has made me feel the things this book did.
As for the writing, the authors truly have outdone themselves, the writing was so good and the writing style is actually one I have never read before, but it made me feel closer to the characters and I really loved it.
I definitely suggest you read this book. It not only made it to my 2020 favorites, but an all time favorite. It is sooo good and addicting. I cannot wait to read the rest of the books and see how the story unfolds.

I would like to point out that this is NOT a book romanticising toxic relationships or abuse, emotional or physical. This book is not going to be like 'oh look at how amazing this relationship is'. The whole point of this book is to show you what happens when two toxic people love each other.

I feel like I'm seriously messed up after reading this book and loving it this much. I've read so many dark romances, twisted and intense with some really fucked up main characters but this book kind of climbs the list really high.
Mason is darkness. Not dark. He's darkness itself. And it's so fascinating and in the same time unsettling to be inside his mind. I felt repulsed but also felt so captivated by him. I couldn't stop. I can't stop I'm obssesed.
Emilia is no better. She's drawn to darkness. She craves it. She's not a normal heroine. She's just as messed up as Mason. They're perfect for each other in the most toxic way possible.
Goddamn this was so good. And that writing style is so weird but in the most captivating way possible. It gives this story even creepier and darker vibes.
It's such a ride. I devoured it in a few hours cause I couldn't help myself. I'm so not ready for the sequel but at the same time can't wait to read it.

Das ist keine Liebe das ist Besessenheit… auf eine krankhafte Weise. Ich mochte die Schreibweise, dass die Personen sich in den Texten immer angesprochen haben , das war mal eine interessante Abwechslung. Irgendwie hat es mich gefesselt und trotzdem bin ich am Ende einfach nur ernüchtert und vielleicht auch enttäuscht. Ich dachte am Ende siegt die Liebe oder das Gute. Aber anstatt den Selbsthass der in jeder Person dieses Buches herrscht zu verarbeiten, siegt am Ende das was nicht siegen sollte…

the way i havent even finished this book but i KNEW i had to take it upon myself to warn every unsuspecting person thats about to pick up this horrible excuse for a book. TS IS HORRIBLEEEEE PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE.
first of all i was willing to overlook the fact that mason was a twenty three year old bum living in his parents basement constantly smoking za all day cuz hey that is lowkey me ! but the way this man acted my GOSHH, he was so freaking entitled and his parents let him get away with EVERYTHING. he genuinely expresses the fact that he hates women MULTIPLE TIMES, blames women for staying with abusive men and all in all just has no general regard for literally anybody except that irrelevant ass dog. i tried SO HARDD to find a redeeming quality in him but it was literal nothing burger.
AND THE WRITING STYLE MY GOSHHHH. normally i dont really care when books arent edited properly and have spelling/grammer mistakes but whoever wrote this glorified fanfic genuinely cannot write to save their life and im trying to say this in the nicest way possible but please in the off chance ur reading this author i just have one question, do you genuinely sit back once youve written a book and actually READ what youve written 😭 because seriosuly the dialogue is so silly why are they speaking english like my freshie cousins 😭😭
please please PLEASE save yourselves the trouble of reading this literary failure and also i forgot to add the fact that this man PUNCHES THE FMC IN THE FACE. and i kid you not literally a few minutes after it happens she PROUDLY admits that she loves him 😭😭 i genuinely cannot put into words how horrible this book is and yes ik theres “good” horrible books but this was genuinely JUST horrible

Blown away
When a story takes a chokehold on you, this was unexpectedly so intense and just broken , loved it.
Told in first pov, it's about the dark and painful parts of love. How love can be uncontrollable and hurt not only the people in it but the others around those in love.

I'm trying to sort out in my mind just how to review this one. I've read the one author (Don Both) before, specifically her 'Tristan Wrangler' series & loved them. BUT, for those not familiar with Ms. Both's writing style, I think it is fair to provide some FYI about it.
*** Although please be aware these are IMO:
a) the author is European, so the writing style is slightly different than an American author (not bad, at all; merely slightly different)
b) A lot, if not most, of the story is told via the character's internal thoughts/musings (normally I don't care for this, but I find I do not mind it at all in Ms. Both's books)
I found this one about Mason (anti-H) & Emilia (anti-heroine) to be fascinating & one I could NOT put down.
BOTH Mason & Emilia are tortured, dark, extremely dysfunctional people, albeit for different reasons. Mason due to DNA as well as his natural personality & Emilia due to an abusive past.
Looking for stability, goodness & light for her future, Emilia happens to meet Riley, Mason's half-brother, who is the polar opposite of Mason.
Mason is prone to rages, is emotionally uncontrolled, acts on impulse, acts out, has no ambition, does drugs & has s*x with a constant stream of women for whom he has no regard & at 23 lives in the basement of his parents' house.
Riley is controlled in word & deed, has always been a natural over achiever, never acted up or out & became an attorney.
But then Mason & Emilia meet & dark calls to dark.
Mason is an extremely egotistical & dominant man who finds himself irresistibly drawn to the submissive Emilia physically. But as their illicit affair explodes, both Mason & Emilia find they not only cannot stop their trysts, they do not want to stop. Mason is a cruel dominant who loves to torment & emotionally torture the submissive Emilia & finds any excuse to punish her. He requires her instant obedience & compliance to all his demands, no matter how outrageous or how they might endanger her relationship with Riley.
And while Emilia constantly reminds herself the good man for her, the right man for her, is Riley, she absolutely cannot resist her intense emotional & physical NEED for Mason & his dominating control.
There is A LOT of angst in this one. A LOT. Neither Mason or Emilia are good people: they are dark, dysfunctional, selfish & consumed by their own wants & needs. BUT. They ARE fascinating characters & the reader slowly receives more & more insights into their personalities & in Emilia's case, how she came to be the person she is.
And in the background, Mason & Riley's father, Keaton (of whom we receive highly intriguing peeks), keeps an eye on his combative sons & is ready to step in between them if necessary. And Keaton is especially focused on Mason, very well aware of Mason's nature & proclivities as they mirror Keaton's own.
So, while neither Mason or Emilia were particularly appealing people, their story WAS beyond fascinating. I found I could NOT put this one down, I felt compelled to keep reading to see just what the h*ll would happen next. And, I was surprised to find that by the end of the book, while I still had my lingering 'hmmm' feelings about Mason & Emilia, I DID better understand what drove them & just how uncontrollably obsessive their bone deep need & desire for the other was.
This one is intensely emotional, is intensely dysfunctional, is intensely fascinating. I found it sucked me deep into the story as well as the characters, & I for one, cannot wait for the sequel to continue their story.

Compulsive toxicity
Played out as the inner thoughts of characters speaking to their most significant other, unwittingly this story seeks your attention like tentacles until you're captured for a roller coaster of a ride. Darkness, obsession, compulsion, and dysfunction characterize this story, a love triangle really, featuring Mason (antihero) and Emilia (heroine) and Riley (hero?), primarily set within the home of Mason and Riley's parents. These parents, however, may seem conventional, but even their relationship hints at something darker.
The book portrayed the evolution of a (self) destructive, toxic relationship. Emotionally explosively, there were extreme highs and lows, yet undeniable magnetism, analogous to the same polarity in forced, desired proximity. The storyline felt like a combination of a play, a stream of consciousness, and a book that did not delve into their day to day activities -- professions, interactions with characters outside of this mix, but rather their personal feelings, impressions, reactions. To a degree some characters were unlikable, even if redeemable. Dark humor in the inner dialogue though had me chuckling often. All characters had some darkness to their personalities, some unleashed, others controlled or disguised, and yet others complete light unless provoked. From Mason's often childish recklessness to Emilia's dishonesty to Mason's seeming virtuousness, they all sparked strong feelings while I was reading, even pity. LoL.

Ich liebe das Buch. Bereits der erste Teil der Reihe hat mich umgehauen. Ich liebe die Geschichte von Mason und Emilia. Mason und Emilia sind auf jeden Fall eine explosive Mischung. Erinnert einen etwas an Olivia und Keaton früher, auch wenn die Geschichte der beiden etwas anders war. Mason ist auf jeden Fall eine Mischung aus Olivia und Keaton. Ich würde sagen die perfekte Mischung aus den beiden. Von Emilia hat man am Anfang ein anderes Bild, aber man lernt schnell, dass sie und Mason gar nicht so unterschiedlich sind. Ich konnte das Buch nicht aus der Hand legen. Ich liebe die Geschichte der beiden. Die Geschichte hat mich vollkommen in den Bann gezogen. Das Buch hat wirklich alles was man sich wünscht. Die Charaktere sind super ausgearbeitet und kommen sehr authentisch rüber. Jeder Charakter hat etwas besonderes an sich. Die Autoren haben wirklich tolle Arbeit geleistet. Ich liebe die unterschiedlichen Perspektiven in dem Buch. Durch die unterschiedlichen Perspektiven kann man sich super in die Charaktere hineinversetzen. Ich liebe es auch, dass Keaton und Olivia in den Buch vorkommen. Es ist immer wieder wie nach Hause kommen, wenn man alte Charaktere trifft. Der Schreibstil der Autorinnen ist absolut fesselnd und mitreißend. Das Cover ist wunderschön. Vielen Dank für die tollen Lesestunden. Ich lese gleich den zweiten Teil der Reihe weiter. Ich bin gespannt wie es weitergeht. Absolute Leseempfehlung. ❤️❤️❤️

This book is dark and twisted romance.
Mason is obsessed with his brother's gf turn Fiancee. He's rough, rude and controlling. From the first time he saw her, he know he wants her and pursuit her like an obesession. And not even sorry blackmailing her to cheat on her fiancee.
Emilia is plint plant. I don't like this girl for how she string two man along. One second she claim she love Mason. The next she claim she have to be with Riley cause Mason is toxic to her. One second she claim to be the victim Mason blackmailed. The next she crawl back to him for s3x.
I can appreciate her cheating if she's brave enough to confess and not string Riley along with keep being "victim" to Mason.
Riley is the Angel boy in the family
Or so he portrayed him self all this time. He got darkness that make Mason look like an Angel. When Mason all fire you can see him coming, Riley is like still water that could Drown you when you're not carefull. Like when he was the adult and Mason still so young and he stand there letting Mason took all the blame, that's just first sign of his "not so Angel"
So when he can be rude and violence toward Emilie and not just break up with her only to get revenge, it's a sure sign his on his way to be an abuser.
Mom.... Oh mom you knew! You know the whole time Mason and Emilie is f*King each other in the basement but you pretend everything is ok. And no way you don't know Riley have his own darkness. Mom always know.
And dad, he is the sanest of all in this family. The way he's there for Riley and Mason. The way he show them how he love them in different way. The way he protect his family. Maybe bit over the top and twisted, but he still the sanest of the family.
Overall, like the plot. Mason definitly not a sweet boy. But he's not the villain also. Emilie please grow some back bone.
But the way the authors write this book....definitly need adjusting for readers like my self. Cause I never read a book that's read like a letter. I mean, when you get Mason's pov, the authors write it like he was talking to Emilie. And vice versa. Not sure why the authors do this but I found it's bit uncomfortable for I'm not used to it and change reading in my head to be first person POV

Ich schlängel mich jetzt schon ein paar Tage darum hier meine Gedanken in Worte zu fassen und um das Buch sacken zu lassen.
Ich bin total hin und her gerissen. Die Story ist Wahnsinn und ich bewundere die beiden Autorinnen um ihr Können, dies alles in Worte zu fassen. Aber irgendwie ist das auch alles ganz schön darker als dark. Bereits auf den ersten Seiten war klar hier erwartet einen als Leser eine ganz besondere Story.
Das Cover hat mich sofort angesprochen und ist mir ins Auge gefallen. Großes Lob für das Design. Das düstere passt perfekt zum Buch.
Ich kann meine inneren Zwiespalt gar nicht in so wirklich in Worte fassen. Auf der einen Seite bin ich total angewidert von der Art und Weise. Diese Erniedrigung und Respektlosigkeit ist nichts für mich. Und auf der anderen Seite bin ich fasziniert von dem Spannungsaufbau und der Entwicklung der Charaktere.
Wie soll man da seine Gedanken in Worte fassen?
Der Vater durchschaut seinen Sohn und es wird deutlich woher die Charakterzüge kommen.
Emilia ist echt krass. Keine Ahnung wie sie das durchsteht und warum sie überhaupt auf so was steht. Ich konnte mich sehr schwer in sie hinein versetzen. Vllt weil ich mich mit ihrem Leben nicht identifizieren kann.
Will ich jetzt Teil zwei lesen? Also ehrlich ich will absolut wissen wie es weiter geht, aber ich hab auch Respekt vor dem, was mich im nächsten Buch erwarten wird. Denn natürlich ist dieses Buch der Auftakt einer düsteren Trilogie.
Ich werde noch ein wenig das gelesene sacken lassen bevor ich mich an den zweiten Teil der Reihe wagen werde. Denn irgendwie habe ich das Gefühl erstmal etwas anderes lesen zu müssen um mich dann wieder in den düsteren Abgrund ziehen zu lassen.

Sooo..you cheat on your husband who loves you with everything in his power with his brother who HATES him because…he is adopted into the family and wants to be the perfect child to the family so they dont try to get rid of him since thats what familys do when the kid isnt perfect sometimes . And Mason who somehow is so traumatized from what exactly??.. that point wasn’t proven just like how him hating his brother wasnt proven…Emilia loves Mason before she was engaged and was cheating on riley with BEFORE they were engaged..well to be more SPECIFIC while she was DATING Riley who aka is the VICTIM in the WHOLE story!!..meaning you had ENOUGH time to leave Riley and be Masons “bitch” as he likes to call her threw out the whole story and a slut and a cunt etc etc….Riley is the only person in the story that I feel bad for..really. Riley just wanted a happy ending not nothing more not nothing less. The other characters in the stories could have done something to stop it like the dad he knew the WHOLE time but didnt stop mason or emilia from hurting Riley which was a dumb move on his part. Honestly. Mason and Emilia are very self-centered people not ONCE did they apologize without making it Rileys fault! And even when Emilia “apologized” it wasnt real cause she tried to blame the WHOLE thing on mason saying if she didnt have sex with him he would expose her which btw..is RAPE! That somehow seems romantic in this book. I hated every last character in this book besides Riley. And i hope no one ever picks us this book and read it. It isnt lovable its disgusting and toxic and not the toxic that makes you blush the toxic where hits where thrown and manipulation is thrown around like love. The only NORMAL decent person was RILEY!

•The Cover page of the book is simply designed but Title is very attractive and apt according to the book.
•This is a story of two brothers named Mason & Riley who love the same girl 'Emilia'. Emilia is engaged to Riley but not actually committed because her heart belong to Mason. It tells how the consequences of her action nearly destroyed the brother’s family.
•This book is dark and twisted romance and have a strong dark and powerful vibe. I’ve read many dark romances before but this is something mind blowing and an extra ordinary book.
•There’s a lot of family drama in this one. I don't like drama much but this one was just too good.
•Characters are characterized well.The characters are unique , well developed. The narration style is extremely smooth. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that have the same narrative style like this one before. The plot is very intriguing. Author has mentioned every small details effectively which adds a plus to the story.
•The book has a good and unique storyline which has kept my interest throughout the duration of reading. The story is engaging and the readers can easily relate to every emotion.
•The language is so elegant, neither lucid nor very difficult. Just the right amount of words have been used here.
•Mason is my most favorite character, not that I didn't like other characters but I genuinely feel Mason is a character who has been portrayed very well. He shines alot compared to other characters.
•All the events throughout the course of the novel seem credible and the way their story sizzles is worth praise.

Okay wow, this was definitely not what I was expecting from the blurb.
Believe me when I say THINGS GOT REALLY CRAZY.
Not gonna lie, the best part of the book was the writing style. It was really different from all the other romance books I’ve read. I felt like Mason was talking to Emilia and Emilia was talking to Mason. It just felt so intimate and personal, maybe that’s why I felt to close to these characters.
I was losing my mind with Mason during the first part of the book. He was pissing me off too much but then smth switched and I LOVE THIS MAN NOW?! He went from this jerk to this broken little boy and my heart is a sucker for him.
Emilia. Well. I still have a love-hate relationship with her. She is no victim and she tries to appear like one knowing very well what she’s doing. She’s freaking manipulative but well at least Mason knows her true colors and still loves her like that.
This is was the real definition of a T O X I C relationship, not the “we both toxic but we make a lovely couple in the last chapter”, don’t start this one expecting that; I finished the book and still don’t know myself if I want them to be together, deep dow I do want them to but a side of me is still conflicted about what happened during the last chapters and Emilia’s actions. I feel she’s gonna be Mason’s ruin and he will drag her along.
Guess I will have a more solid opinion about these two in the next book🖤

Rollercoaster of emotions!
There is no other way to describe this book and its thrill.
Let me start with the writing still. It is written in the first person, portraying different POV and up to here one would say thats pretty normal right. And it is. Here the trick: the characters refer to their significant other as if they are im front of them, in a creepy- Josh-from-YOU- kind of way. Let me illustrate:
“You’re wearing Louboutin shoes or whatever they are called. Mom also has a pair. I’d just like to know where you got the money to buy them. Was it from him? That would be oh-so-typical of you.”
And let me start on the plot- it is mind twisted. Its like whatever you might have thought and multiply by ten!!
The characters are fucked up in the head but in the same time normal within themselves, so normal that the lines become blurred and its difficult to judge them for their unscrupulous actions. You not only choose sides shamelessly - mind i say the dark one- but you also love characters that side portrays.
This book its far from the usual romances and the normal we now is pretty much nonexistent but even though darkness takes place you find light spots and thats enough to keep you going. ❤️

Ich sitze seit einer geschlagenen Stunde hier. Schreib etwas und lösche es wieder. Genau sieht es on mir gerade aus. Dies ist das erste Buch, das mich tatsächlich sprachlos gemacht hat.
Der Schreibstil war einfach der Hammer. Man las die Gedanken von jedem Charakter und durfte in alle Abgründe blicken.
Olivia und Keaton's Geschichte gefiel mir ja nicht so gut und ich hab mit mir selbst diskutiert, ob ich die Geschichte über ihren Sohn überhaupt beginnen sollte...Ich hab den ersten Teil gelesen.
Das es krank wird, hab ich mir ja schon gedacht, aber so...
Ich war wütend...nicht so "normal" wütend...ich war stink sauer...
Leider mag ich Emilia auch am Ende des Bandes noch nicht...Sie merkt selbst, dass sie das größte Problem ist, aber sich immer in diese Opferrolle zu begeben regt mich tierisch auf...

Loved this. This was exactly the level of toxic mess that I wanted.
Emilia and Mason are completely bad for each other but can’t seem to stay away. Just one small problem she is engaged to his brother. Emilia has her own tortured past that drives her towards bad men and self-sabotage, she is in a real pickle but can’t seem to help herself.
Mason is a total self-aggrandising asshole but I enjoyed that. He’s reckless, angry, impulsive, possessive, downright mean and hurtful, underhanded and also nice to his dog I guess. He’s a lot, but Emilia can’t help but be drawn to him like a cliche moth to a flame. And Mason seems unwilling to let her go also.
I don’t usually enjoy sibling rivalry in this way, I think it’s a step too far but it does help they’re not fully blood related? And it also gave me buckets and buckets of angst.
Excited to read the rest of the series and see how these relationships develop.

The book cover is well suited for this intense story. The title - Run Baby Run is very unique and intriguing.
The story basically revolves around 3 people .A girl named Emilia and 2 brother named Manson and Riley. The story is a dark romance with a powerful sense because the plot presents the narration where these two brothers are in love with the same girl.
Where as Emilia loves one and you are going to find that person after reading the novel.
What according to you will be the consequences in this scenario.
Who will Emilia marry? Will she get the love of her life?? How will the family react after getting to know the truth?
All these questions are full of suspense and curiosity within themselves and I assure you that you will be as amazed as I am after finding out all the answers.
This is the most interesting and wonderful dark romance novels I have ever read. And all the people who like to read such books should just grab it now.

Und was soll ich sagen, ich dachte ich wüsste worauf ich mich einlasse. Aber ich wusste nicht, dass ich auch süchtig nach Mason & Emilia werden konnte!
Und ich muss sagen, dass diese Bücher zu meinen Lieblingsbüchern wurden und ich Mason & Emilia lieben lernte.
Wenn man vorher dachte man wird bei Keaton & Olivia verrückt, so wurde es hier verrückter. Meiner Meinung nach auch noch leidenschaftlicher. Ich wollte es gar nicht mehr aus der Hand legen, da ich wissen MUSSTE wie es weiter geht.

Captivating, dark, dangerous and oh so beautiful!
Captivating, dangerous, dark, twisted, intriguing, chilling yet oh so beautiful. If I could have read it in one sitting I would have. I had no choice but to savoured it, and it was worth it. Since I picked this story up I could not put this book down, I was hooked from the very first chapter right up until the last. I’ve never felt this way about a book, but this particular book, no matter how hardcore the themes were, had all the feels, the way it was written, the different points of view, connected very well, it made it so easy for the reader to get lost in the entirety of the story completely! Am looking forward to reading the next chapter in this series!
