Something Big Is on The Horizon, And Will Make What Happens Now Childs Play!!
So much is happening around the world, Bear works with Sadie but still has not heard from Jack... They finally get Thorne in prison, after all the illegal deals they knew he was making. But does he Really know about a bigger conspiracy? I am so excited for the next book now!!!
I'm sorry, but this is the first LT Ryan book that I've rated below 5 stars. I found the beginning confusing and wondered how Jack Noble was mixed up in Bear's storyline. I also found Takedown to bog down in areas with a lot of repetition relating to Jack missing and speculation about Thorne. I thought a back story about the missing CIA agents with some explanation as to how they got where they were. I'm also disappointed at the cliff hanger at the end of the story...clearly a ploy by the author to purchase the next story to see Jack's involvement.
A very good story better than I was expecting as Bear usually works with Ben but it was very good, intriguing and with the usual twists and turns expected of L T Ryan. I enjoyed the book I think that is possibly why I read it so quickly, I hope that there is a reunion with Ben soon as he is lost without him and they were/a team and they seem to function better together. Very well written, nice not to have endless swearing as that always puts me off and it is not necessary. Story has some references to the previous books, they are subtle but there. You should read all these books in order otherwise you will lose continuity. Thoroughly enjoyed this book, recommend to anyone who wants to have a nice story with characters that we know and a reasonable ending.
Three CIA operatives go missing in England and Jack Noble is nowhere to be found. He is completely off the grid. The suspicion is that Thorne is involved, but whose side is he on? Bear and Sadie are asked to help unravel this mystery. Bear trusts her, but she used to be tight with Thorne. One of the agents is dead before they even get to the safe house where they were staying and then someone sets fire to the place to destroy any evidence. What they do have is a thumb drive that points them to an abandoned tunnel. Turns out, there is one group that wants to use it for getting drugs into the country and another group wants to blow it up to test their bomb making skills. Good read!
This was an excellent follow-up from last book. Poor Sadie and Bear were going through hoops on trying it to figure out who was behind all the trouble in London. Between Maria, Miller and Thorne Sadie and Bear didn't know who was behind everything. Then CIA pulled both in for questioning in relation to everything in London and Thorne. Unfortunately Bear had heard nothing from Jack till end. So we will see what results from Jack's conversation with Bear . On to next chapter. 10 stars 🌟plus.. Thanks ,Carl Clause
One of the main characters was a carry over from previous books in this series. I wish the author had written at least a few sentences or a paragraph to remind the reader what this character had previously done that made him such a key persona in this book. It had been six months or so since I'd read the previous book in the series and had forgotten essentially details about the character. I'm irritated the author didn't help me out by reminding me of previous goings-on so I could better understand the developing plot in this book.
Another page turner that kept me up most of the night reading
This book was much better not trying to separate the characters Bear and Jack. I believe it would be even better if Bear's character was stronger and more independent of Jack. At times it is like Bear is a big strong "don't mess with me" kid that needs a big brother to really excellent. Still an outstanding read that lovers of thrill will enjoy.
Whenever a character is as big as Bear I know he will be one to like. They are mostly rough and tumble types and liven a story. I will be going back to read the earlier books in the series. Should be good reading.
Wrote my review in the g wrong place. Dang it. Hate it when that happens. I blame it on my 90 years and lack of concentration. Read the book, it is a good one. Four and one half stars.
Wonderful story all 3books are great. I only found every page better than the last. Thanks. I have read everyone of your books and when I am done I bring them to the V.A. so other vets can enjoy your style Thanks please keep up the good work....
If there are more books coming please let me know the guys will love reading your stuff and I am sure they will be buying all your books.
Bear is missing Jack, and he is worried about him. L.T. Ryan writes so compellingly that keeps your attention throughout to see what will happen next. This book is intriguing and full of twists and turns. I couldn't put the book down and finished it in one day. I love these books centered on Bear and look forward to the next book. I am sure you will enjoy this book as much as I did. Happy reading! 😊
Enjoyed the main characters, as usual. Plot line and story kept me turning the pages but this series by this author always ends the books a crucial point and you're left hanging! You don't know what happens next. This seems like a clear case of pandering to buy the next book in the series. I read another of this author's books a long time ago but I had forgotten the annoying "ending"!
Bear Logan can't seem to catch his breath. His best friend Jack Noble has flown under the radar. Someone from a prior mission, Maria has just contacted him in New York. He is then contacted by a friend in the CIA, Sadie. Next day he's in England and nothing is making sense. Non stop action, intrigue at its finest. Enjoyed immensely.
Good read BEAR OFFERS a commonsense action driven style less reckless than Jack's invincible character type. He does some risky things but after a sound "riskyness" assessment.
Would recommend you read to understand the intensity of Bear's love of Jack. BEAR earns Jack's loyalty by being his rock in a storm.
Bear and others stop a major terrorist attack . Of course not without cost of lives of team members and also evil people. Where is Jack is he somehow involved? Thorne is in prison put there by Bear and others, but it seems like Thorne is still running things.
I've been binge reading all of your books 📚. The "A Deadly Distance," like the other books, is packed with unexpected twists & turns. All of the characters are multi dimensional. Kept me guessing. It (they) always end cliffhangers, leaving me wanting more, more, more, more...
It is apparent you cannot escape your past. Not when it involves so many bad people. And you cannot rely on old or new friends as that could compromise you too. You can feel the characters constant paranoia and ALL the untruths they have to deal with. It makes your head spin keeping up with them and hard to put down!
I have been waiting on this book ams now I will await the next one. L. T. Ryan id one one great storytellers of our time. His books always move fast and keep you glued to them.
I really enjoyed this book which was full of action and ever developing plot line.I never quite knew who the bad guys were which kept it interesting. The ending made me look forward to the next instalment.
Good tale but too loaded with introversion and innuendo without any real effect. Definitely a serial writing with the intent to get you to tune in next time to see what the hero does.
I really took my time reading this last book (takedown) from the start I knew it was going to be a twister silence of a story, but wasn't expecting the long silence of noble, brilliantly written yet again hurry with the next phase keep up the good work.
Intense searching for truth, for killers, for victims, for terrorists, for those responsible... Always a question of who you can trust - makes for suspenseful reading.
Come on. You finally being Jack out the shadows and we have to wait for another book. You're killing me smalls! I love Jack and Bear so ok, I'll hold out.
Bear is back from Korea and in London without his partner Jack. Bear does his best to keep his cool and still help getting the bad guys. I didn't care for the ending but it should make for a good beginning for the next book.
Globe trotting around the world filling the action.
These or more stories in one. All action packed and all fascinating reading. Looking forward to book 4. Although, this author has a ton of books out there.
It took awhile but was worth the wait. Circles within and then more of them. Is Thorne a good guy or not It feels like a 50s spy show with a weekly cliff hanger. Well on to the next chapter.
I can't get enough of this guy. Bear Logan is a gentle giant, until he's not. Then, watch out. These are books you can't put down. Fast action. Great twists. Keep them coming.
From the beginning I was hooked by how Bear got into such a predicament, and it was off to the races from there on out - never a dull moment. I love these characters, keeps me coming back!
