Supernaturally Kissed

I wanted to love this book. I mean look at the cover! It's adorable and the blurb totally worked. The concept is awesome. Unfortunately, this book pushed all my buttons. All the wrong buttons.
1st person POV. I readily admit that I don't like 1stPOV. Usually I find the voice annoying and limiting but when I like the heroine, then all that goes out the window. I'm not above enjoying flighty, shallow heroines. I loved Betsy (Mary Janice Davidson) until the series imploded. That wasn't the case with Tess. She came off to me as a spoiled, annoying, selfish, entitled and rather toxic.
The end result was I just couldn't get past a few lines.
Ok. I know. It's my buttons but I just can't stand to read about a heroine who is Mayor MarySue of Shallowville. So besides Tess thinking how hot she is, she came across as kinda stupid about ghosts and dealing with their issues even though she's supposed to have dealt with it before. I mean if she had an accident and suddenly got to talk to ghosts it would make more sense but the scene at the police station and then with ghosties' partner just made me cringe. The story became a sitcom version of Ghost Whisperer & Sex in the City with a dash of [insert your favorite police drama].
I decided to take a break from this story, but when I picked it up again...well, I just started skimming. My initial reaction hadn't changed. I get it that some readers may really enjoy this story but it just didn't work for me. I just couldn't get passed a heroine that I hated with purple passion.
So why two stars instead of one? Well, at its core, there is a story that was good if it hadn't pushed my buttons. The scene with hero ghost and victim ghost was really awesome. But then the heroine speaks up again. And have I said how I really hated Tess? So yeah, the end? I just didn't care.

Being a dark brunette with the long shag look, emerald eyes surrounded by dark lashes, body of a twenty year old with boobs which screamed of youth, my looks were never the problem.
Once done, I made my way back to the bathroom to take on the task of becoming a sexy kitten.
With my low-riding dark wash jeans and blue plaid three-quarter length sleeve top, tied to leave my midriff exposed, I couldn’t have been more pleased.

A delightful read, easy and quick... a little hard to grasp at times but still fun to read..
Tess has an ability to see and talk to ghosts, although she tries to steer clear of them until Kipp comes along. Kipp, a cop, has been murdered and Tess is pulled in to help him solve a case...
What gets me is how a relationship can form between this ghost and the girl, and the other question I ask is why is Kipp still hanging around once the case was solved? Well I guess that is what will bring us into book 2...
Although I felt some of the story happened quickly , i.e. the love thing between Tess and Kipp, there were humorous points to the story and it made me smile... There were also sexy bits, well written too... over all an enjoyable book.

I will start off by saying this book proves you should not always judge a book by its cover...or that you should! The cover is definitely hot, but what I got inside was an outstanding and sexy paranormal romance!
As an assistant to a the event manager of a marketing firm, Tess Jennings lives a pretty normal life, well except for the ability to see and talk to spirits. She spends most of her time ignoring these sometimes annoying spirits but every once in a while, one comes along that touches her heart and Tess can't help but pay attention. That is exactly what happens to her when she encounters Kipp McGowan. He's the sexiest ghost she's ever seen and simply will not leave her alone. When Tess finally gives in and acknowledges Kipp, she learns he's a cop who was murdered while working a disappearance case of a young girl. Tess must reveal her ability to his old partner and hope he believes her if she has any chance of helping Kipp find his murderer and that of the missing Hannah Reid. It's trying not to fall for the handsome ghost that is going to be her biggest problem!
Tess is an enchanting protagonist, she's not only smart, but funny and has the girl next door qualities that make the more endearing. I love her attitude and how she isn't a shy or submissive woman, she has no problem telling you how she feels. Her vulnerability was shown in the tender moments shared with Kipp and showed a different side of her I really enjoyed. The hero, Kipp is pure, raw sexual magnetism from the moment he appears. He knows just what to say to a woman to make her weak in the knees and I for one forgot that he was a ghost for half of the story!
The romance was a perfect package of sweet, sensual and erotic. Tess and Kipp will touch your hearts and have you fanning yourself with their passion. A little suspense, humor and steamy romance make Supernaturally Kissed a read you'll want to pick up and not put down until you reach the last page!

Captivating & Humorous!
Hands Down! Stacy you are truly a creative and brilliant writer. Just WOW! I couldn’t put the book down as the story grew more interesting at each sentence. I was totally captivated with the story line and the characters. The descriptive surroundings, feelings and emotions flowing through all the characters draw you in immediately; I actually got all teary eyed towards the ending.
I loved the way you brought out the true meaning of having a special gift such as Tess has with her ability to see ghost – when you are given a talent don’t waste it, don’t hide it, make it useful for all those around you. The fates definitely played in Kipp’s favor as he finally realizes being a cop has benefits with the high of solving cases and putting bad guys away, but finding true love even at your end is worth more than anything in life.
The connection between all the characters is amazing and very humorous at times; I even laughed out loud a couple of times. I loved Tess’s character so much, she has so much spunk, fire, and desire that doesn’t take crap from anyone and is a very strong character. All the male cops were just to die for all sexy and hansom with nice bodies.
The erotic love scene between Tess and Kipp is pretty hot in the one scene but in another scene I felt kind of sad because I felt their desire for each other even though they couldn’t really touch each other physically with him being a ghost. I kept hoping he would magically turn solid and give it to her real good – LOL
The whole story line of finding the killer and helping the ghost pass on to the other world was memorizing and I loved how you explored what ghost experienced, what they could do physically, and how they thought mentally. All great touches to the story.
I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves a good detective catching the bad guy kind of story with paranormal twists along with a human who can actually see and talk to the ghost to aid in solving cold cases for the police department. This is definitely a series I plan to follow every book along the way.

Stacey knows how to write a delightful and witty romance. In this novella Stacey takes this hero and heroine into a world wind romance that leaves you wanting more at the end and I loved reading every bit of it. I read this one before under a previous title and really enjoyed reading it, all but the ending because it was a cliffhanger ugh. *pouting* I hate cliffhangers lol. This time around I enjoyed it even more because Stacey re-wrote the ending and made it fantastic, but more to the point no cliffhanger;) I can’t wait to see where she’s going to take this ghost storyline next.
Kipp and Tess have a lot of hot heated tension between them and I loved how Stacey adds the Frostbite in the book and it reminds me of the cover, it’s very fitting.

Supernaturally Kissed sucked me in from the beginning with Kipp talking dirty to Tess so she will stop ignoring him. Kipp was a cop working on a case when he was murdered and he needs to find his killer. Once he realize that Tess can see and talk to ghost he does everything he can to get her attention. He starts off by following her around, annoying her and when he realizes she still will not acknowledge him he starts seducing her, getting her hot and bothered while she and her girlfriend are having drinks in a bar. Oh my goodness Kipp had me hot and bothered during this scene.
“You’d come into your orgasm because I’d leave you with no other choice. But I wouldn’t stop there.” He ran his finger along my exposed lower back and the coldness against my hot skin made me shiver. “Without giving you the chance to recover, I’d flip you over on your knee’s,” his tone dipped lower, “and fuck you senseless.”
Tess was in a car wreck a few days after her seventeenth birthday that almost killed her, but a doctor saved her and she was left with the ability to see and talk to ghost. She decides to help Kipp solve his own murder case. She has never had feelings for a ghost before until Kipp came into her life. She knows it is pointless to fall in love with a ghost. Because once they solve his murder case, he can leave and rest in peace. The problem is Kipp gives her comfort. For the first time in her life she does not want to help a ghost go to the other side. She wants him to stay with her.
While on their journey trying to solve his murder case. Their feelings for each other are not going away, just becoming stronger and finally gets to a point where they both can not deny it any longer. They have beautiful and sexy chemistry right from the beginning. Stacey Kennedy out did herself with sex between Tess and Kipp. Since he is a ghost and she can not touch him, Kipp still finds a way to make love to Tess. These scenes are done so well I forget at times Kipp was a ghost. Wow... Kipp must of been one sexy lover while living because as a ghost he got my girly parts all tingly.
"I'd run my lips across your silky skin as I nibbled your shoulders," his finger feathered along my upper body, "until I reached right along here." He trailed his touch down to the center of my chest. "Then when I got here..." he ran his finger over one taut nipple, "I'd flick them with my tongue."
I moaned. Shivered. Hungered. The Contact felt so cold, so light and so incredible.
He circled his finger around the tight bud. "I'd suck on it, bite down, showing you just how much your breasts entice me, and I'd rub my erection against your thigh so you could feel what you do to me."
Supernaturally Kissed was an amazing read. It had a little of everything, erotic, paranormal, funny and suspense. The plot was so good with the twist and turns that I could not flip my e-reader fast enough. Stayed up late to finish and right away I wanted more of Kipp and Tess that I had to buy and started reading Demonically Tempted (Frostbite #2). Stacey Kennedy is a excellent writer and now is on my favorite authors list. I am now hooked on her Frostbite series and look forward to reading all her other novels.
Highly recommend Supernaturally Kissed to all paranormal fans. If you are like me and love more Shifters and Vampires in Paranormal Romance take the chance with Supernaturally Kissed because you will fall in love with her ghost hero Kipp. I am so happy I did because now Supernaturally Kissed is a keeper for me to read over and over again.

Why I Read this Book: To be completely honest, I’m not sure why I chose to read Supernaturally Kissed. I don’t read romance stories involving ghosts; I don’t like the intangible factor when it comes to ghosts. (I still have a bone to pick with J.R. Ward for what she did to Jane’s character.) But there was something about this book that grabbed me; I don’t know what exactly, but it was something. Maybe it was that the hero was a cop (I do have a thing for men in uniform). In any event, I went out on a limb with this one and it turned out to be a good call because I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
What I Liked: The author took an element that I was cringing about and made it work. She made it work! I have a hard time feeling a connection with characters that are ghosts, and their interactions with the living, but the author did a great job at setting me at ease.
When I first started reading this book, I was conflicted. I kept thinking how is this going to work? She can’t get intimate with a ghost! But the author did it. The story made sense and the author gives the reader some really steamy moments. Fans of the infamous Chapter 32 will fall in love with Stacey Kennedy’s Chapter 7. Trust me.
I also enjoyed the case solving. There’s a mystery surrounding Hannah’s death and it was suspenseful. I could tell that Kipp and Zach made a great team on the force. They’re both dedicated cops who want to see justice served. I’d like to read more about this cold case solving team (including Tess of course).
What I Didn’t Like: Since Tess is the only one who can see and hear Kipp, she served as a medium for the guys in the police department. It drove me crazy that Tess didn’t relay Kipp’s messages more precisely. I wasn’t expecting her to quote him verbatim but at least pass as much of Kipp’s words along as possible. She chopped his words to bits at times.

For a paranormal-romance genre novel, "Supernaturally Kissed" is a quick, light and easy read. I enjoyed reading about Tess and her ability to see and talk with ghosts. The latest ghost to come her way is Kipp, a detective who has just been murdered. The chemistry between the two is there - to a degree. It's obvious they have feelings for each other. My issue is how she expects to have a physical relationship with Kipp. She feels the icy chills he leaves her whenever they touch, but to have a relationship?
While some books tend to go on and on dragging out the story, I found this one to be quite the opposite. Everything was accepted and solved very quickly. When Zach (love him by the way) meets Tess and she proves to him that she can talk to Kipp, he accepts it right away. Then we have Tess and Kipp declaring their love for each other, within days of meeting. Kipp has never done relationships, only one night stands. Yet, we're to believe he's fallen in love with Tess. A little too fast as it came out of the blue, that and how they were able to get it on. Their love for each other would have worked had their feelings developed over a period of time, instead of going from zero to sixty.
Like another reader mentioned, it does remind of me of the movie "Ghost." However, in this story Kipp is still hanging around with Tess after they’ve solved a crime of murder. They don't know why he's still sticking around but they're both happy as they get to spend more time with each other. Good luck with that.
Regardless of all of this, I still give it five stars as I really loved the story. Perhaps more will be explained in the next book, “Demonically Tempted.”
While some books tend to go on and on dragging out the story, I found this one to be quite the opposite. Everything was accepted and solved very quickly. When Zach (love him by the way) meets Tess and she proves to him that she can talk to Kipp, he accepts it right away. I’ll be the first to admit that going into this book I wasn’t sure what I’d get. I was expecting an average tale, okay, but nothing too great. Instead, I got....this. It. Was. Fantastic! It was a quick, quirky, easy read that was both humorous and serious at times too.
The storyline itself was your pretty basic girl-can-talk-to-ghosts tale, something I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’d seen before and yet the story drew me in from the very beginning and wouldn’t let me go.
I found the storyline to be fun and interesting with just the right amount of wit and sass, but it was the characters that made it so much more.
I thought all the characters were perfect with their own perfect place within the story. From Tess to Kipp, to Zach and Caley and others along the way; they were all different and totally awesome.
When we were first introduced to Tess I wasn’t sure I was going to like her. I can’t exactly say why, but I worried for a moment that she was going to be one of those heroines that get on my nerves. Well...she wasn’t! She was fantastic! She was smart and sassy, with a fantastic attitude and a good heart under everything. Tess was a fabulous, independent woman, and I loved her wit and sharp tongue. She was strong, but she was realistic with a vulnerable side that made her more human. She was definitely my kind of gal!
And Kipp! Whoa! Was he smokin’ or what? Don’t answer that—rhetorical question. From the very beginning of the story I could not get enough of Kipp. From the very moment he begun to follow Tess around and bug her I knew this was a guy I was going to like...and did I ever! Perhaps it’s because I’ve always had a thing for cops, but I thought he was one of those great all-round male characters who have it all. He had an amazing heart, but I liked his cocky attitude and naughtiness more of all. I loved how he was able to get to Tess. He knew just what to say and do to drive her insane and it was hilarious watching him get to her the way he did.
The best part of this story was undoubtedly the relationship between Tess and Kipp. The chemistry between them was smouldering; it was hot and feisty and totally caught me from the beginning. The author has written their relationship so well. The way they fell for one another happened over a short period of time, yet never once did it feel rushed or forced and the reasons for why they were attracted to one another and cared for one another made sense and went together perfectly. I thought it was so sweet that Tess didn’t want to develop feelings for Kipp; that she wanted to keep him at a distance, but he was still able to worm his way into her heart.
I thought Zach was a great guy too and it was obvious how close he and Kipp had been before his death. It made me sad at first, but then as the story drew on, I enjoyed the way they still had that comradeship too. I’d love to see more of him in future books, and learn more of his budding relationship with Caley too--now those too are going to be a fire rocket together.
Throughout the whole book I wondered who it was that had killed Hannah and had murdered Kipp too. I admit there were a few people I suspected, but in the end when the actual killer showed up in the story I knew it was him straight away. It was fairly obvious and therefore I wasn’t surprised when it was later revealed.
I found the ending of the book to be abrupt, but I loved it regardless. I worried the whole way through what would happen once they solved the case. Would Kipp leave? Would he move on? Just what would happen to him? I wanted to know, needed to know and I was happy with the ending.
I’m looking forward to the next book. I’m looking forward to seeing more of Tess and Kipp. I’d love for them to find a way to really be together and I want to see what happens now to Zach and the rest of the force; will Tess work for them now? Will they become a crime fighting team...ghost, cop and girl who can talk to the dead? I doubt it, but I still can’t wait!

Let me just start off by saying that I really liked this one. Stolen Dreams by Stacey Kennedy is super sexy and really fun with a wonderful little mystery thrown into the mix.
Tess sees dead people. Okay, maybe not quite. She sees spirits. She wishes she didn’t, but ever since she was in a bad car accident when she was a teenager and was declared dead for a short time, she has this fancy dandy ability. She usually tries to avoid contact with them (because when she acknowledges them, they usually asks for her help and she has a life, you know) but there is one very very persistent spirit who refuses to let her get away. His name is Kipp.
Oh Kipp…*mega swoon* Somehow, Stacey managed to make a ghost sexy as hell. I think what helped is that the spirits in this book aren’t all transparent and spooky. They look like they did before death but their abilities have changed. Meaning they float more than walk and can go through walls and people can walk through them. All things that make falling for one a little challenging. Kipp is a cop who died while investigating a cold case file. You think that the reason he’s still floating around is to catch his killer, but is seems there is more to it. His attraction to Tess is a first for this former one-night-stand dude and, with Tess is feeling it too, it’s proving to be quite confusing for both of them.
Tess was fun! I especially loved the scene where she needs to go to the police station and convince them that Kipp is with her. Quite funny. She’s a smart and sassy character and I liked her immediately. I’m glad she’s gonna be around for a couple more books.
I know right?! A ghost and a person falling for each other… That’s a strange mix. But there is real chemistry between them and Stacey writes it well. Often I would forget he was a ghost only to suddenly think ‘Um ew! He’s a ghost’ and then follow up with ‘Where can I get me a Kipp?’
Because let me tell you, Kipp has ‘talents’! Now I must say that the ‘Um ew! He’s a ghost’ thing was going through my mind during the first love scene, and it was occasionally joined by ‘but how is that even possible?’, but the twist there was cool. Yes the twist was cool, but the lovin’ wasn’t. It was hot! When I finished this book, I asked the author if it was PNR or Erotica because the love scenes and the chemistry really falls right in between both. She told me Stolen Dreams is classed as an Urban Fantasy Romance. So…technically a romance book, but still the lovin’… *fans herself*
As I neared the ending of this book, my thoughts turned a little sad. I kept thinking ‘How on earth are these two ever going to get their HEA?!’ But not to worry. Stacey assured me that at the end of this three book series, this couple will indeed have their happy ending. I have no idea how she is going to pull that off, but I for sure will be along for the ride. Book two, which remains unnamed, will hopefully be available sometime in August. Until then, I will for sure dream of Kipp and his wicked mouth. *drifts off to dreamy-land*

As of late my head has been tightly wrapped with reading the Historical Fiction/Romance which I love so much, but when an email for this tour came to me I had to stop so I could read this series. The covers drew me in and when I read the blurb I had a feeling it was going to be a good series. Now I am a total Paranormal junkie, but to be honest I haven't really read a lot with Ghost's, it is a particularly interesting subject to me being able to talk with the spirits, mediums and so on. My father passed away 5-years ago and I'll tell you there hasn't been a day gone by I wish to hell I could see him, talk to him just one more time. So when I read the blurb for this series I had a feeling it was going to be good. What I didn't realize was that is was going to be awesome.
Tess and Kipp have to be two of the most favorite characters I have loved reading. Tess is just a normal down to earth, girl next door kinda gal, living her life, going to work, being with her friend Carley, who by the way is so funny, I liked her right away, but Tess has this ability that really only Carley knows about. She has the ability to see, hear and talk with ghosts who haven't crossed over yet, she was in a fatal car accident and after being brought back to life woke up with this ability.
Kipp McGowen, a young cop, hot, sexy, funny, kind, did I say hot.....omg this man sizzles, but there's one problem....he's a ghost who is trying desperatly to get Tess to help him. The heat the bounces between Tess and Kipp makes you need to have a cold shower after reading this book, or go make your partner/spouse a very happy person :) So Kipp the hunk needs Tess to help him find out not only who killed him but Hannah as well which is contected to Kipp's death as the story begins. This book is packed full of everything you look for in a great book, funny, shocking, mystery, a love story, sizzling sexy scenes, a fantastic plot and story line that will take you on an incredible rollercoaster ride of emotions with an ending that I DID NOT see coming. I could NOT put this book down, I read it in a day and went on to book #2 and read it in a day.
Book two picks up right where the first one ends, now you really must read them in order to understand and grasp the whole concept to fully enjoy them. The cast of characters is one you will bond with, Eddie, Max, Zach, I'd have to say Zach and Carley are so funny, they are like your best friends, you will laugh out loud at Tess with her bold attitude, she has no problem telling you like it is, she is a call em how she see's em gal, but kind, vulnerable, soft hearted. I really liked Tess she reminded me of myself lol.
This series is one you really don't want to pass by, if your looking for something new, action packed, great love story, sexy, hot as hell scenes, fantastic cast and an outstanding story, this is the series you will want to sit out on your deck in the wonderful sun or take to the beach with you. This is a huge summertime hit and I can't wait until the Fall for book #3, I will probably have withdrawls until I get the third book in my hands. Bravo Stacey Kennedy Bravo!!!! Enjoy everyone!!

I’m a lover and follower of Stacey’s work, and I had thought that I had read pretty much everything she had out there until I discovered that Stolen Dreams was rewritten as Supernaturally Kissed and was given the opportunity to read and review it. I had also thought that I had a lockdown on my favorite Kennedy Hunk, and that he had no competition… boy was I wrong!
With Supernaturally Kissed, Stacey hooks you less than 5 pages in and doesn’t let go, well… ever, because when you finish the last page you will be yearning for Book #2 to be in your hands immediately.
Tess is an extraordinary female lead that I had no problems identifying with immediately despite her unique gift. She’s sassy, spunky, smart, brave and just the right amount of insecure.
Kipp is… to die for. [Hee hee]. He’s everything I would ever want in a man – self assured, sensitive, strong willed, intuitive, honorable, and sexy as sin.
The supporting characters are perfect for the story arc and Stacey places and introduces them at exactly the right moments to make the plot thicken perfectly like a well prepared turkey gravy.
While the story starts out quickly, I never once felt like I was missing anything or wondering about how we got there, and it honestly never slowed down, which made me skip meals, ignore phone calls, and devour the book in one sitting.
There is a whole lot of mystery, intrigue, and romance in Supernaturally Kissed, which will leave you with feelings of surprise, frustration, shock, tenderness, trepidation, longing, and a whole smattering of other emotions along with plenty of laughter, which makes this murder mystery unlike most others.
LITERAL ADDICTION gives Supernaturally Kissed 5 Skulls, of which it is well deserving in my honest opinion. We would recommend it to ALL Stacey Kennedy fans (even those who may have read Stolen Dreams), every Paranormal Romance junkie out there, Romantic Suspense lovers and even some Urban Fantasy buffs (if you don’t mind some wicked romance with your dark fantasy). Honestly, anyone who is looking for a quick paced, emotion filled read with mystery, suspense, romance and humor should read Supernaturally Kissed!

Tess Jennings, assistant to Event Manager Dylan Cobb, loves her job at Randall Marketing. the pay is good and her boss is always somewhere around the world doing promotional work. she is pretty much left on her own - except for the spirits. Tess sees them daily. they come to her asking for help so they could cross over. on her way to work one day, Tess encounters the ghost of Kipp McGowan, a cop with the Memphis Police Department. she attempts to ignore him and fails.
Kipp was working on a cold case file and following up a lead when he died. he asks Tess to seek out his partner Detective Zach Foster and fill him in so Zach could move along with the case. with Tess' assistance, Kipp hopes not only to solve the disappearance of Hannah Reid but also to learn who was responsible for his death.
there is a lot about this book that bring to my mind the movie Ghost and the TV series Ghost Whisperer. the writer might have been inspired by them but Stolen Dreams is much more fun!
the dialogs between Tess and Kipp are witty and amusing. the plot is interesting and the pacing is fast. Tess and Kipp's unlikely partnership and "romance" also caters to a more mature audience who love supernatural themes with a bit of steam on the side.
i really had fun reading this book though i still find the idea of falling for a ghost creepy and unnerving . i just had to focus on the fact that one of the reasons why i read is to escape into uncharted territories and lose myself in what could be plausible. somehow, author Stacey Kennedy managed to remind me of this and got away with it.

Tess Jennings, assistant to Event Manager Dylan Cobb, loves her job at Randall Marketing. the pay is good and her boss is always somewhere around the world doing promotional work. she is pretty much left on her own - except for the spirits. Tess sees them daily. they come to her asking for help so they could cross over. on her way to work one day, Tess encounters the ghost of Kipp McGowan, a cop with the Memphis Police Department. she attempts to ignore him and fails.

there is a lot about this book that bring to my mind the movie Ghost and the TV series Ghost Whisperer. the writer might have been inspired by them but Stolen Dreams is much more fun!
the dialogs between Tess and Kipp are witty and amusing. the plot is interesting and the pacing is fast. Tess and Kipp's unlikely partnership and "romance" also caters to a more mature audience who love supernatural themes with a bit of steam on the side.

May 25, 2012The cover of this book kind of made me really nervous to read this book for a really long time but thanks to the lovely invention known as ereaders I no longer need to worry about people seeing covers like that and wondering what the heck I am reading. Except if I’m reading a paperback, then I just hide the cover as much as I can.
That being said, the main reason I picked up this book is because I love mysteries and well this sounded really good.
I got a lot more laughs out of Supernaturally Kissed than I had expected. Kipp and Tess’ interactions just had me laughing quite a bit at times it was really awesome.
The characters were interesting. I loved both Tess and Kipp but I thought Caley to be the most annoying person ever. Zach was pretty cool too. It was just Caley that annoyed me so much, she’s so bossy and I really don’t like bossy people.
If you’re a bit squeamish when it comes to bedroom scenes then you might not want to read this one because there are a couple of scenes that are more adult but not as many as you’d think given the cover. They’re fairly tasteful though and I managed to read through them without getting really embarrassed and uncomfortable.
My only complaint is that there were some editing mistakes such as words being used that don’t quite match up with the sentence. It wasn’t completely awful it was just scattered in random spots here and there and barely detracted from the story I just happened to notice them.
Overall, I really enjoyed Supernaturally Kissed, it was funny and an awesome mystery. I’m definitely keen to read the next book in the series as I am so curious to see what happens next. I’m also glad to see that the sequel has a chick with more clothes on, on the cover.

Supernaturally Kissed by Stacey Kennedy
This is the first book in the Frostbite series, Stacy is an excellent author/writer. I loved this story and Tess, the characters are great, story well written its one of those books you don't stop reading till you reach the end.
Tess has a gift she see's ghosts...the funny part is she totally tries to ignore them. Hiding her gift from everyone all Tess wants is a normal life. But then she meets Kipp, Kipp was a police officer who was shot and died in the line of duty. Tess knows she has to help him so he can cross over. Working with the police and Kipp to solve a cold case and Kipp's murder she starts to develop feelings for Kipp.
Can she help Kipp solve these cases and how will she handle saying goodbye to the man/ghost she seems to be falling in love with.
Supernaturally Kissed is full of mystery/suspense and few hot scenes. Stacey Kennedy has me hooked on this series and cannot wait to start the next book Demonically Tempted (Frostbite #2).
I have rated it a 4 but deserves a 4.5, I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves a bit of mystery, sexy ghosts and great characters.

My thoughts:
I am a Stacey Kennedy fan so I was excited to read this story. I found the idea of falling in love with a ghost unique.
Stacey Kennedy is a storyteller. She creates characters that are easily invested in, sets them in a world that is believable and carefully put together. She has the ability to pace the story is such a way that it just unfolds before you from the pages you don't realize you are turning. I enjoy her writing style.
With that said, this book did not disappoint. I fell for the characters right away. Kipp is a fantastically created character - although he is a ghost - he has a clever and playful personality. Tess is a wonderfully put together character. Actually, all the characters have been painstakingly personalized in their creation. I felt like I knew each one.
The story is unique in the ghost/human love portion, but also a well-rounded murder mystery. Fast paced, edge of the seat drama, mystery, and a shell shocking ending.
Wonderfully written, steamy love story - don't start it unless you can finish not only this one, but the next one - Demonically Tempted. (Book three comes in the fall of 2012).

I thought this was a good book. The story line was a good one and really opened up to the concept of future books.
I would have liked to see the situation with Kipp resolve itself, though it was left open to be resolved later. It's one of those devices, though, that if dragged on through too many books, I lose interest in.
I had a few issues with the characters. Kipp was a bit of a jerk at times and it's a personal pet peeve of mine when the heroine is angry at the hero but becomes so overcome with lust that she lets her grievances go without much of an apology, as though her feeling don't matter.
I was a bit annoyed with Tess and her whining about "not having a choice" or "being forced" to help out. She came across as a bit weak through a lot of the story.
All that aside, I will be checking out the next book. How much further into the series I go depends on how these characters evolve and how the author resolves the romance issue (as well as how long it takes).

Tess Jennings sees ghosts, but she’d rather ignore them totally. Unfortunately for her, the latest ghost is not only male and sexy, but he’s persistent as well. He won’t let her ignore him. If you liked the TV show 'The Ghost Whisperer', then this is a book for you. Tess sees and hears ghosts who come to her when they have unfinished business to deal with before they can cross over. This is the first book in the series and shows great promise of things to come.
The plot is light and entertaining, with moments that made me laugh and others that made me sad. The storyline kept me involved and wanting to find out what happened next. The characters are fun.
My one issue with this one is that Tess was often far too preoccupied with and easily distracted by sex. At times it was as if she had a switch that accelerated her libido from normal to out of control. This book does have a lot of explicit sexual content and is not for someone bothered by erotica.

I ended up liking this quite a bit. It was quite sexy. Granted, I wasn't all that surprised by who the killer was. I wonder why it is that Kipp is able to remember his life so well since that isn't normal for the ghosts of this world. Eddie was about to say something before Zach cut him off. I wonder what they know. I have my suspicions, but I want to wait to see if they get confirmed.
Kipp is a wonderful man, maybe a little too perfect, but he's still wonderful. I liked Tess quite a bit as well. There were some times when I forgot she was 25, though. She had a tendency to act quite a bit younger at times. Still, she was a pretty good heroine when she wasn't coming across as whiny.

Two stars, instead of one, because I managed to finish it. This book was hard to read thanks to its grammatical errors, disjointed storytelling, and uncomfortable prose that no regular human would use; it read like smut fanfic a teenager would write thinking it sounded poetic but was actually agonizingly ostentatious and bizarre.
On top of that, the murderer was obvious from chapter five with little more than a cursory character introduction, leading to an easy and obvious prediction of how the last scene of the book would play out, none of the "twist ending" was surprising. It is not a HEA book ending, more of a "To be continued..." which irked me for having bothered to finish reading the book at all.
An example of writing showing just how absolutely clueless the author was about her skill level of writing:
"I think I still suffered from shock in discovering [killer's name] had been behind this. It was like a twist out of a Hitchcock murder mystery. Not in any stretch of the imagination did [Killer's name] look like a killer."
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Hitchcock you are not. I would laugh this one off if the ending had provided a HEA that redeemed the time wasted slogging through all the moments that take you out of the story, but as it is, this is a bust. I will not be reading any of the rest of the series but based on this one I'll predict that... [SPOILER?]
Kipp isn't actually dead, he's in a coma recovering from his wounds but he and Tess don't know it yet. Then when they find out, he'll just slip back into his body and Ta-Da! alive and dating.

Well, I think I liked this one. I am not entirely sure yet, how I feel about this book. It was entertaining, I had a good laugh a few times and the story as well as the characters were belivable. But unfortunately I could not really find a connection with the main protagonist. I like her and she seemed as a strong woman, but also vulnerable at times. Acutally the perect mix - except I felt something was missing.
The connection between Kipp and Tess is supposed to be very strong. So strong even that it is told that Kipp was actually supposed to die, so they both could meet - but also to solve the murder of course. During their sex scene I couldn't connect with them. I found it very strange, how it happened and how they would overcome the obvious obsticle. I couldn't feel their love. But I think they have build a nice friendship so far and they have this attraction, but I don't feel it's actually love - yet.

Wow. What a story! When I was asked to read and later review STOLEN DREAMS, the comment “I hope you like this Belinda” was offered. In my mind, it’s a Stacey Kennedy story so for me it was a no brainer – I would read it and fall head over heels in love with it. It didn’t matter that there were no vampires or werewolves in it; I was ready to try a new kind of supernatural… a ghost. Having read some of the amazing scenes from Stacey’s previous books, I had no doubt the story would be filled with humor and incredible emotion. What I was curious about was how would she give me those hot yummy bedroom scenes when one of the characters was strictly no touching? Would the story still contain the heat I’m addicted too? Let me tell you… OH HECK YEAH!
STOLEN DREAMS tells the story of Tess Jennings. She’s just a regular character – beautiful, successful, great best friend. But there’s something that sets her apart. Something that others may call a gift but most days, she calls a flat out curse because she can see, hear and talk to ghosts. These lingering spirits come to her for help and to keep them from annoying her for eternity, Tess sucks it up and helps but one morning as she’s in Starbucks getting her morning dose of caffeine, she finally meets her match. Tired of feeling harassed, Tess ignores the ghost who approaches her, hoping the spirit will take the hint and take a hike. And he does… to her work, her apartment and out on a blind date where he proceeds to arouse her with some HOT HOT dirty talk. Knowing that if she doesn’t respond to him she’ll be walking around with a perpetual blush, Tess learns that the ghost – Kipp McGowan was a cop who worked on a famous cold case and he has an important message to give his partner – he has a clue to the murder of Hannah Reid that is linked also with his death. The story unfolds as the duo include Kipp’s partner Zach and Tess finds herself knee deep in detective work, all the while fighting hard the attraction she feels towards Kipp. She tells herself she shouldn’t feel this way, that as a ghost he’ll move on but the chemistry between the two is scorching and it leads to some pretty imaginative scenes. As both their hearts become invested, the question lingers in the air – how long with Kipp be around before he moves on and how will Tess ever be able to survive it?
Stacey did such an amazing job writing this story because it was filled with so many funny moments that helped lighten some of the tense moments. She has such a good sense of humor that shines through her characters and my favorite scene would have to be where the men explained to Tess how police work was such a rush that it gave them all hard ons. Can you imagine being Tess, in the middle of nowhere (they were on the case) suddenly standing still? Where do you think her eyes would have gone? Yep and she just had to comment on it. Made me chuckle so hard, I had to share it with my husband. I love that I was able to picture the story in my mind because it made it so much easier to become a part of what I’m reading. Stacey always does such a great job describing each scene and there was one mid way that will forever be etched in my mind it was so HOT *fans self* Another thing I loved about how it was written was there are books where you’re part way through and you can pretty much guess the way it’ll end. With STOLEN DREAMS, you think you know but as I read there were just so many different possibilities. It helped keep everything fresh and my mind intrigued because I wanted to know what would happen. When I finally did get to the end and everything was revealed, I was left with a huge smile on my face because I was completely satisfied.
Tess had so much sass and I loved it! I could feel the turmoil she went through as she tried to fight how she felt for Kipp and that man didn’t make it any easy for her. I loved that she was able to stand up for herself and put her foot down when people tried to get her to do something she didn’t want to do. Fat lot of good it did because she ended up helping but she was able to do things on her terms. I really liked the image I have of her in my mind, of the silent conversations she had with Kipp and how she would get completely caught up in them. More and more she started seeing him as a man, not just as a sexy but pesky spirit. I can’t wait to see where the next book takes her as she finally realizes that she has been given a gift and that her life has now changed.
Kipp can come haunt me anytime he wants, especially if he brings that sweet talking mouth of his. My first reaction to Kipp as I watched him try to get Tess’s attention was to shiver and giggle because he was just downright sexy. He’s the type of man that once he focuses on you you’re a goner and that pretty much sums it up for Tess. I can’t begin to imagine how hard it was for him being a ghost – not being able to touch or smell, to spend all day with the woman you love and never be able to truly kiss and hold her. But he didn’t just heat up the pages for me, Kipp also had a very caring heart and I wept for him when he finally had that moment of “OMGSH I’m a ghost. I’ve really lost my opportunity to live the normal life I’ve dreamt of” He always came across as a strong, focused character that seeing those moments where he was vulnerable were endearing. I loved how he was with Hannah and the strength he had to put solving her crime first, even though it looked like doing it would make him move on also. So many incredible moments with this character and it was impossible not to fall in love with him.
This is definitely going to be another hit for the author because STOLEN DREAMS is the story that sucks you in and leaves you sighing. All I can say is thank goodness this is a series because I haven’t gotten close to enough of Kipp and his charming ways and I have a feeling as Tess begins to learn more about her gift, things will really start getting interesting. When I finally did get to the end and everything was revealed, I was left with a huge smile on my face because I was completely satisfied.
Tess had so much sass and I loved it! I could feel the turmoil she went through as she tried to fight how she felt for Kipp and that man didn’t make it any easy for her. I loved that she was able to stand up for herself and put her foot down when people tried to get her to do something she didn’t want to do. Fat lot of good it did because she ended up helping but she was able to do things on her terms. I really liked the image I have of her in my mind, of the silent conversations she had with Kipp and how she would get completely caught up in them. More and more she started seeing him as a man, not just as a sexy but pesky spirit. I can’t wait to see where the next book takes her as she finally realizes that she has been given a gift and that her life has now changed.
Kipp can come haunt me anytime he wants, especially if he brings that sweet talking mouth of his. My first reaction to Kipp as I watched him try to get Tess’s attention was to shiver and giggle because he was just downright sexy. He’s the type of man that once he focuses on you you’re a goner and that pretty much sums it up for Tess. I can’t begin to imagine how hard it was for him being a ghost – not being able to touch or smell, to spend all day with the woman you love and never be able to truly kiss and hold her. But he didn’t just heat up the pages for me, Kipp also had a very caring heart and I wept for him when he finally had that moment of “OMGSH I’m a ghost. I’ve really lost my opportunity to live the normal life I’ve dreamt of” He always came across as a strong, focused character that seeing those moments where he was vulnerable were endearing. I loved how he was with Hannah and the strength he had to put solving her crime first, even though it looked like doing it would make him move on also. So many incredible moments with this character and it was impossible not to fall in love with him.
This is definitely going to be another hit for the author because STOLEN DREAMS is the story that sucks you in and leaves you sighing. All I can say is thank goodness this is a series because I haven’t gotten close to enough of Kipp and his charming ways and I have a feeling as Tess begins to learn more about her gift, things will really start getting interesting. I give this 1 star because the story is interesting : a girl who sees ghosts because she died in an accident and came back to life meets a ghost who's a detective shot and presumed death because he was working on a cold case and he was in the wrong place wrong time. But when I read this it was cringe, 1st : if a police officer gets shot and dies there's the news and everyone will know of his death especially since they knew of that case (a woman disappeared and presumed death but they didn't find her body). 2nd : I think he's in a coma not dead because there's this chemistry between the mmc and mfc and I don't believe that the author will just end the story with the mmc truly being dead. 3rd : the +18 scene at the beginning of chapter 5 wasn't needed and it was weird and disgusting at the same time. I stopped reading and I can't finish this book for these reasons. If you like romance between a ghost and a living girl with the +18 scenes and dirty talk you may like it

Middle of the road
This story was intriguing as far as the story line and concept. While I really liked the character of Kipp. He still felt a bit two dimensional - just like a ghost -not quite solid (pardon the pun).
Tess on the other hand for me was a bit vapid and seemed to always think of herself even when they were locating the body of the dead girl - she was worried about her boots. Sorry, she really didn’t make me want to like her.
Again the story was well done - just had trouble with the characters.

This is a fun read. There are ghosts and a murder mystery and romance.
I enjoyed that Tess was reluctant to use her ghost talking powers. More times than not it seems someone finds out they have powers of some sort and they're like "Awesome!" and that can get a little boring. So, a reluctant "hero" was fun to read.
Romance went a little quick, they met and two days later were in love. But, that's what happens in romance novels so I can deal with that.
There enough unanswered questions left by the end to make me want to read the rest of the series.
All in all, good book.

Annoying is the word that I was looking for to describe Tess, our heroine. Tess is a feisty and sometimes too belligerent young woman, but somehow her pouting and quarrelling annoyed me. I felt her to be a bit too forced, too much. Maybe I just complicated things and imagined how I would like to have her as a friend in real life, and my resounding no affected my opinion of her as a character. She changed her ways and even her moods quite often. It felt a bit confusing and I just tried to get my footing to see what exactly was her position at the moment regarding things. Bottom line, I couldn’t connect or identify with Tess and besides the lack of any common ground I couldn’t follow the logic of her thoughts, feelings, or even lines at times.
Kipp, the hero, was intriguing and sexy but as the story is told through Tess’ point of view my impression of him remained shallow and quite incomplete. Which is a shame, because he could have been an interesting and layered hero, despite not being flesh and blood. Though he often comes off as a sexy player with his nonstop innuendos, flirty winks and dirty talk. And if I didn’t know he was our hero his behaviour could have been interpreted quite differently..
When reading a romance I love seeing/reading the motivations, feelings and thoughts of the parties, which can be achieved even when the story is told in the 1st person, but here I got the impression that Tess didn’t get to know Kipp any better than we did…
I thought that Caley, Tess’ best friend could have come off as a quirky and funny secondary character but she just managed to irritate me. I found her too cliché and cardboard-like.
I didn’t find that Tess fell in love with Kipp too quickly, but I certainly could have taken more insight into why she did. I started reading this story with this main question in my mind: how could a satisfactory romance develop and exist between a living person and a ghost? I have to say that Stacey Kennedy got me quite immediately when describing their chemistry and lust, it felt hot:
“I opened my eyes and did my best to cover myself with my arms. ―What…‖ Then I caught sight of him and lowered my arms to my sides, incapable of speech. His jaw clenched, fists tight, muscles quivering―there stood a man grasping at the last remnants of control. But all of this was gentle compared to what lay in his eyes. A look that women swooned over and fantasies were built on. His intent, hunger and focus remained on me alone. Nothing would satiate him. No one could cure him from his desires. Only my body would ease the torment he suffered now. And it could never be, which made me wonder if doing this was cruel. It was almost as if I placed a juicy steak in front of a hungry lion, but refused to let him eat.”
but when it came to the romance part, again due to the lack of development and detail I wasn’t sold. The hottest scene in the novel was Tess’ erotic dream when she was making out and having sex with a very corporeal Kipp, because let’s face it, even though a frosty touch can be thrilling, it can’t replace or even come close to the real thing. So when after such a scorching first love scene we had to contend ourselves with an “each to their own masturbation”, it didn’t come close to the hotness of the previous sensual scene and left me quite underwhelmed.
As to the mystery plot of the book, even when I started reading Supernaturally Kissed I knew that the main focus of the story would be on the romance, so I didn’t have big expectations regarding the mystery storyline. And I did well, because it wasn’t complicated or too hard to guess who did it.
I also noticed that about 80% of the story was told through short and clipped dialogue. Which sure made the story fast paced thanks to the repartee but due to that it lacked the necessary descriptions and details that I sorely missed. If we could have gotten a bit more depth it would have greatly helped in making the reader more invested in the characters’ life and their story.
What I enjoyed a lot was the tongue in cheek humour of Stacey Kennedy’s writing:
“He ran a hand along his scruffy chin. I hated the urge I had to touch his face myself. I shook my head to erase these thoughts from my mind. Ghost, check. Dead, check. Off the market, double check.”
A ghost girl when talking about what she will do to her cheating ex-boyfriend:
“She glanced over her shoulder with an icy glare. I‘m going to hunt him down and haunt him.”
Verdict: As the main question: how can a living person and a ghost have a satisfactory relationship wasn’t answered in Supernaturally Kissed (it mostly told the story of Tess and Kipp’s attraction and how they become a couple), I hope Stacey Kennedy will get to show us in the following books.
All in all despite its flawed heroine and the (in my opinion) not enough developed story Supernaturally Kissed was a quick and easy read. Don’t expect an epic love story or an intriguing mystery, but if you want something light and fluff Supernaturally Kissed might just be it.
I give Supernaturally Kissed 2.5 stars!
