Something dangerous is loose in Dead Oaks, N.C.Its body is powerful. Its movement is silent. Its bite is deadly. Can Tia Evans and her twin sister Mia stop the creature stalking the mountain town?Or will they become its latest prey?
Rena Marin was born in a small town in East Tennessee where she, her husband Daniel, and two children—Cody and Amber—still reside today. Growing up, reading and writing her own stories was Rena’s favorite pastime. Her once-unreachable dream of becoming a published writer came true when she was in high school and found herself with many writing awards and accolades, including a short story in Reader's Digest. After starting her own business, Rena continued writing shorts online before moving on to freelance work. Taking a chance, she and a friend submitted a novel to their first publishing company and were delighted to be accepted. As a member of Crazy Ink Publishing, Rena now has several co-written series underway, including the Dead Oak Terrors Series. Halloween Nightmare, the first book in that series, recently won the Reality Bites Best Horror Book of 2018. Rena also has her own solo series called The Witches of Dark Hollow Ridge. She looks forward to bringing readers with her into a world of magic and adventure. Keeping close to her short story roots, Rena is part of several anthologies with many more in the works. A lover of all forms of entertainment, Rena enjoys horror and fantasy movies new and old. When she isn't writing or working, she often finds herself cuddled on the couch with her family—including their five fur babies—and lost in a fantasy world or hoping to be scared.
This book had me hooked right from the cover, I love snakes and use to have one just like it. I loved the twisted, slithering tale of possessed snakes and made me all gitty inside. The Authors did a wonderful job written this Dead Oaks spin off.. I can’t wait for more.
This installment to the Dead Oaks Terrors Series did not disappoint!! Rena Marin & Skylar Mckinzie are a seamless and flawless writing duo. The story flowed effortlessly between the two writers.
I loved the relationships that were budding and renewed in this story. We got to see one relationship end so that a new one could begin. Also, we saw the relationship between man and animal. Now, yes...this book is creepy and scary, but it is also so well-written. Once I started this story, I could not put it down!! I am so looking forward to more stories from this evil little town.
This is a very easy 5-star read for me and I highly recommend it!!! Well done Rena Marin & Skylar McKinzie!!!
The cover art is awesomely creepy, which fits perfectly with the storyline. And if two authors' names weren't on the front, I would have never guessed it. Their writing is flawless.
This book and the little town of Dead Oaks was intriguing and oh SO creepy! Parts of this book literally gave me the chills. I'm not sure that I can ever look at the woods or snakes the same again. This was hard for me to put down. The storyline and the characters were that good! I loved everything about Slither and I hope to see more in this series. Marin & Mckinzie know how to make your skin crawl!
What an awesome spin off! It has the chills, suspense, and paranormal that made me fall in love with Rena's and Skyar's writing. Can't wait to see what is to come in this series!
Absolutely enthralling. The story and characters had me rushing through it to find out what happened. I found myself feeling so sorry for Bindy. A wonderful book, and a quick read. You won't be disappointed.
This return to Dead Oaks was certainly chilling and had me looking over my shoulder and watching my step. I was very interested to learn more about what was happening to the residents of that cursed town this time. The tension amongst the characters was also well written and added to the overall feel of anxiety that this book gave me. The end of Chapter 9 was absolutely terrifying and completely freaked me out. I really enjoyed this book.
If you are looking for a quick, creepy read, Slither is for you. I'll be paying more visits to Dead Oaks in the future. Just make sure to look out for the snakes. The authors did a great job building up the creepy factor in a short time.
