The Critically Acclaimed Heaven's Fist Series, Now in One Complete Edition! Heaven's Fist is an epic survival/thriller post-apocalyptic series from best-selling post-apocalyptic authors Mike Kraus and Justin Bell, featuring the complete 9-book series!
When the sky comes crashing down, one family must risk everything to survive.
An unprecedented terrorist attack rips apart the Gregory family, trapping them on opposite sides of the world. As Marilyn struggles to keep her three children alive and out of harms way, Marcus fights to stay alive in the middle of a war-torn region, all while searching for answer to a global catastrophe that threatens the lives of his family - and the world.
Heaven's Fist is a near-future, what-if tale of a frightening apocalyptic future told through a gripping, roller coaster lens.
Following a cataclysmic event that destroys the network of satellites in orbit around the earth and activates dozens of orbital kinetic bombardment weapons, cities across the globe are reduced to rubble and the status quo is changed as governments fall and millions die all in the blink of an eye.
At 40,000 words or more per book, Heaven's Fist was originally produced and released on a bi-weekly schedule. This series covers the period immediately before, during and after a devastating apocalyptic event sweeps across the world. This series asks a simple question: If the worst were to happen, would you be able to survive?
Written as a collaboration between Justin Bell and Mike Kraus, this post-apocalyptic thriller is a gripping ride that takes a unique look at the post-apoc genre and will leave you breathless with every turn of the page.
This was s fairly simple story with likable characters. It was just way too long for me. Also for a book with such important female characters, the women were written with hardly any thought to female characteristics. Their perspectives were no different than the men’s. I also tired of the technical details of the weaponry that is so prevalent in this genre. It is analogous to describing the year, make, model, color, and tire size of every vehicle in the book. I would much rather read that a character had an old pickup truck and a hunting rifle, than a green 1997 Ford F-150 with a set of 16” five lug wheels and a 306 with a blah blah scope and 50 blah blah grain rounds....
Loved this set. Characters and story premise was engaging and totally believable, I didn’t want this set to end - now I am searching out everything else by these authors.
The Day the Sky did fall, and kept on doing so.......
The story line is quite creative and earth’s population rapidly faces extinction. There is no plague, no zombies, no nuclear holocaust, but if you look up, way up. Maybe you are not looking high enough. Not to spoil anything I will leave it at that. The author has written an extremely enjoyable story that has tension, empathy, apathy, compassion, and has the ability to make one unable to put the book down and to keep reading well into the night.
The plot is astounding, the characters have dimension and growth as well as protagonists and antagonists. I would have granted a full 5 stars but there was a small flaw that was consistent throughout most of the book. Not a fatal flaw, not a major flaw, but a book of this high calibre the flaw should have been detected prior to production. The author has talent and has written an extremely enjoyable book.
When I First started and saw the format I thought, oh no! I usually don't enjoy timeline format, but it worked well for me here.
I read all mine books, but if course with work and cooking and dogwalking, I had to keep stopping. Well, the story stayed with me and on my mind during those breaks.
Not once did I have to go back and refresh myself about what's going on. For me, that's a sign of strong characters and a solid storyline.
The story is so exciting at times that it made me sit up straight, tending as I was reading. Sometimes I had to take a break because I was getting too stressed. It was actually tiring for me to read.
I became so invested in the characters that I celebrated their wins and mourned their losses.
I have reviewed each of these stories separately while they were fresh in my head, so will just say that though each installment was quite short, the box set makes for great value for money.
There were multiple characters, each pertinent to the story and made for a more interesting tale as a whole. I will admit that I had favourites - Marilyn for sure. While others weren't as good due to the sameness of the scenes - Marcus and the constant soldier thing.
The plot wasn't original from the disaster point of view and the villains were cliched. However, it was still thought-provoking and definitely highlighted disgusting human behaviour...do they really deserve to be saved?
First, I want to thank the writers for not leaving loose ends, something i find to be a habitual and annoying trend amongst post apocalyptic writers. This series reads easy and doesn't throw in extraneous characters that you need seems a scorecard to keep track of. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I kept tripping over Vera. No way world a child that young be making the statements written...that level of verbiage and abstract thinking just isn't within the abilities of a 3-4 year old...even some adults couldn't do it. Good read, check it out.
It's not really nine books as the same characters build on what's happened. It takes you all over the world while trying to reconnect families in this man made holocaust. I was surprised when I looked up the things failing out of the sky such as tungsten rods and found they are real! I didn't like the author killing off semi main characters just when you got used to them, but I suppose that's what it would be like in a real apocalypse. And I don't real think that !mankind is so debase that everywhere you went people would be trying to get you. maybe I'm too innocent. Btw not a religious book, tho the faithful would love it.
Enjoyed this series of 9 books. Firstly only cost 99p, so didn’t expect too much. A little slow to begin with, but soon ramped up, and became a “can’t put it down” book. It could do with a little editing, but when you factor in the cost, it’s a bargain. The only slight moan I have is a couple of the characters in the book with the same name. Corporal Travis and Travis Goddard. I checked in X-ray, and Travis Goddard is listed twice with exactly the same accredited sentences. Not sure what has gone wrong, but it needs sorting. I couldn’t find corporal Travis mentioned in X-ray, and she is one of the main characters. But overall an apocalyptic book with a difference.
Really good read. You won't want to put this book down
Omg! I want to be a part of the Gregory family. This was a really good read and I couldn't put down my tablet. I wanted to skip ahead to see what was happening next but stopped myself. 😁 This shows you what could happen if this world has a catastrophe like what happened in this book. People going crazy and killing one another instead of helping. A wife and mother trying to find her husband and him trying to find them. Who they meet along the way. The things they go through in their search. I don't want to give any spoilers, you will need to read this.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. It was fast paced but well balanced. It has a fascinating and disturbingly plausible premise set in the near future (perhaps 2030 or so). The introduction gives real-world background info on the concepts and how close we are to creating the situation now.
The only frustration I had with it was that the daughter of the main characters was said to be 3yrs old but the way she talked and behaved and followed instruction was more like a 5-6yr old. It was the only thing that pulled me out of the story a bit sometimes.
I really liked the first few books in this series but by the time I got midway through Book 4 I was getting sick of an ex-Marine mom being more hormonal and unglued than a trained military wife. Marilyn Marcus was counterintuitive to every military and experienced Mom I've ever known or experienced. I just couldn't take it anymore. The quality of writing went downhill so quickly I just could not force myself to read any further. I'm sorry I didn't finish but after so many pages of tripe, I had to quit. So sorry. :-(
Pretty good book however kind of long so I recommend reading one book at a time.
I recommend this book to adults, those who are interested in the way things are going in the world especially space or government. I think it is an interesting saga. I’ve often wondered if the next conflict could be fought with weapons in space or perhaps even fought in space rather than conventionally. That’s what intrigue me about this book. It is a rather different apocalyptic story than ones I have read in the past.
I read these “end of the world” novels for the adventure and the characters. This one does not disappoint. I want strong protagonists who have good character. They shouldn’t be perfect, but they must be decent humans who do the best they can with the tools they are given. I love an encouraging ending that celebrates the best of humanity. Heaven’s Fist gives us that.
This series was well written and the story engaging. I was hooked in from page one. The characters blossomed as the series pressed on. I caught two small writing mistakes but they did not detract from the scene. My only criticism is that one of the characaters which was partially developed in the first books and was forgotten as the story wrapped up.
I really enjoyed this boxed set. There were lots of people and lots of place but the main good gut characters were well written and well liked. It was truly auctioned packed and kept me on the edge of my seat not knowing what was coming next. I really loved the Gregory family and others. Just hated when some of the good guys had to die, but I knew going in they would. Also really liked Darla. I think this box set is a MUST READ for anyone who likes post-apocalyptic books.
The writing is pretty good. I found myself engaged through all the books. But the ending is completely ridiculous. There is no understanding of orbital mechanics or the technology involved. It would have been just as realistic to say Harry Potter came along and waved his wand and solved all the problems. Extremely let down by the lack of technical understanding.
I really enjoyed the outline of this story, but found much implausibility and lack of substance. Two month old cheap bread is not edible when not preserved someway period. A strike can impact vast distances yet people can escape down a curvy mountain road in 15 minutes. That being said I did enjoy it but rolled my eyes two often, which is why it’s rated a 3
Kraus and Bell never fail to deliver gripping storylines populated by credible and well-delineated characters, but the final resolution here seemed hurried and somewhat lame. I don't want to spoil the ending for others by giving details, but two such talented authors should have been able to come up with a more positive resolution.
Maybe after nine books they "jes' got tah'd, is all". . Still definitely worth reading
All I can say is Wow. This series had it all in spades. Fast moving and great characters. It was very well written and the plot was known from early on, but that did not matter. The first 2 books spent a lot of time introducing characters and after that the action got going hot and heavy. This box set is well worth your time. Kudos to Justin Bell and Mike Kraus.
It’s not easy for a book series to keep my attention when it has as many books as this one. Krause has a way of pulling it off though. This story grabbed me from the first page. It’s full of drama, action, mystery... it was exciting, entertaining, sad, maddening...it had a little bit of everything I look for in a great story.
Well, I figured out about halfway thru how it would play out, but the plot twists... Those kept me on my toes!!! It was a whirlwind and honestly not too far off from things I figure this world can head to. But, not to give anything away, the ending was exactly what I'd hoped for.
Reading these books you become so invested not just the fact that the world has been turned upside down but in the family of the main.characters. It's very well written and anyone.Reading it will thoroughly enjoy.it. Each.book making.you excited for the next .
This has been a amazing action filled story from beginning to end. And I wish it didn't end. Justin and Mike surely you intend to follow these great characters on their journey through this new post apocalyptic world. Can't wait to delve into something else you guys collaborated on.
Nine short novels following an apocalyptic event and a scattered family desperate to reunite in the chaos of a world gone mad. Say what, you've heard this one before. So have I. While competently done, it feels way too long and dragged out.
I was hoping this would be a grim post apocalyptic novel. It's not. The book is actually fairly well written it's just really not my cup of tea. If you want a yeehaw pack that constantly saves the day against the tyrannical multi millionaire megalomaniac despite impossible odds and with a high five ending then this is your book.
I can honestly say best series I have read in a very long time. It was so good that every time I put the book down I had to remind myself that we were not living in that world. Well written by both of you congratulations on an amazing story. Hopefully it never comes true.
I really enjoyed this book! Especially Darla and Marilyn! Both were very strong women! Hopefully we can all emulate them to some respect. I would highly recommend this book to all. Young adults to seniors! Can't wait to read more about this group! How about it Mr. Bell!
This series of books blew my mind. There was a couple of slow spots. But overall you will find it so exciting that you will have a problem putting it down. As a former Marine, I could feel everything that Marcus and his were going thru. Semper Fidelis
I thoroughly enjoyed each book. Sure, some of the details were boring to me but that's just me. I needed to know what happened and simply adored this series. I think Bragg needs his own series!
