Ink knows Darcy has a “little girl” crush on him, and he finds it sweet and cute. However, when Darcy becomes sick, it brings back memories of a past he doesn’t want to remember. Put in an impossible position, he hands in his leather cut and leaves Fort Wills, never intending to look back.
For three years, Darcy has been filled with guilt. She knows she’s the one responsible for losing Ink. She never meant to force him away, but she did. So when Ink returns, she wants to put everything right.
Ink now has a fresh purpose in life. With the aid of her parents, Ink is going to help Darcy move forward, to live her life, to be independent. Ink wants to be her friend.
But jealousy isn’t something he expected to feel with Darcy. She’s younger than he is, and he shouldn’t fall for her, and yet, he can’t live without her.
For Darcy, having Ink to herself is a dream come true, but how long can it last? He left once. Will he leave her again? There’s no way she’d be able to live with that kind of heartache—should she even take that chance?
Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound. She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.
I'm so impressed with this series! Lash has gotten his MC out of that 1 percent realm and in turn has created a quasi business that helps the community! Although, this was Ink and Darcy's story, we still were given the happenings of both, The Skulls and Chaos Breeds MCs since Ink left for Piston County and of course the cute relationship of Tabitha and little boyfriend, Simon
"Ink" was an emotional read because heroine, 15 year old Darcy had "Cancer: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia" and she had a major crush on hero, Ink. I truly wished that Ink would have stayed around as her friend to support her through her chemotherapy but Ink had his own demons he was fighting so he left after she said something that was a bit flirtatious and he didn't want to take any risks. Ink talked to Lash and temporarily (removed his cut) left the Skulls MC and went to live in Piston County and helped Chaos Breeds MC. Yes, this was the best way in Ink's opinion and Chaos Breed MC Prez, Devil understood his situation. But three years later with her Cancer gone, Darcy was given a birthday party by the MC and Ink was present along with other members and kids of the Chaos Breeds MC. Sure things had changed but Darcy was still attracted to Ink but Darcy was different from before and everyone knew it. So what her parents did to help her get on with life was a sweet and admirable gesture to me but other readers might not see it as such.
This series and The Chaos Breeds MC was my first introduction to MC tales and I still enjoy both series to this day! Kudo to Sam Crescent for creating another fine addition to The Skulls MC.
I enjoyed this story. I loved that these men still gets me every time. Ink was no different. I loved that it wasn't just an insta lust/love type of story. They spent time together and got to know each other. And even thought there was an attraction Ink didn't act it and he just waited for Darcy to first enjoy her life after what she went through and to become the person she wanted to be.
Reason for my 4 stars instead of 5. I found the whole reason that Ink left repeated to many times. I felt like Darcy was apologizing every time it came up, which I find a tad bit annoying. She apologized once and move on people. Ooh I wonder if Anthony will be getting his own book. And really I loved Tabitha. She is going to be a bad-ass... lol
I really enjoyed this book, a lot. Sure it was and MC book but there wasn't drama or mayhem.............this was just a story about surviving something horrible in your life and then trying to live your life. Darcy has been through hell in her young life dealing with something you never want to deal with. For Ink, this brings up memories he doesn't want to relive. He knows Darcy has a "crush" on him but with her being so young and the memories what she is going through brings up, he leaves the Skulls. When he comes back, Darcy had won her fight but it has changed her. Together, they try to move on with their lives, but the attraction is still there. A beautiful story of two people finally coming together. We get to see the other characters from the Skulls and Chaos Bleeds and I always like that. This is a must read for every Skull fan.
I don’t know if this is the end of the series. It sure read like it. This couple was sweet and cute but I always though Darcy was meant for Michael. But it seems that Michael is being written like his father, a sociopath.
Either way, it was an okay read and an okay ending to the series. Not a book I would reread though.
Ink - The Skulls MC Series - Book 17 - By - Sam Crescent
This is the seventeenth story within The Skulls MC Series and it was perfection, heartbreakingly beautiful from start to finish. Darcy the daughter of Blaine and Emily has had a crush on Ink for as long as she can remember. At the tender age of fifteen Darcy was sadly diagnosed with Cancer, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She had to undergo treatment unsure of the outcome she tried to flirt with Ink thinking she may never get the chance again. Between Darcy's actions and memories of Ink's past he left the club to head to Piston County to stay with Devil and the Chaos Bleeds MC to regroup and what he thought was the best for him and Darcy. When Ink returns Darcy is doing better and now older, she is not Underage any more and has grown into a beautiful young woman. A woman who wants to be friends with Ink and has him realising what his future could be like. It's a beautiful, well written and respectful story and holds a lot of emotion in Darcy. I thoroughly enjoyed how Darcy and Ink became friends and things developed beautifully. I loved seeing Lash as always and more of The Skulls kids, Tabitha is definitely a handful and Anthony is definitely more aware than many give him credit for. I can't wait to see more and I hope that Fighter and Adam and his local female mechanic get their stories told along with Drew and Jade maybe? Still lots to look forward to. Happy Reading. 5 out of 5 stars
While it started out slow, I was hesitant to continue. I wasn’t sure how the age difference issue was going to turn out. I was pleasantly surprised that by the middle< i was routing for them to finally come together.
Darcy was sweet and innocent and she had me really believing that sometimes “when you know, you know”. Her crush on Ink from childhood, never elated. It dimmed as she went through her treatments and drew up some, but when it ignited as a young adult, it grew brighter and brighter.
Ink knew about Darcy’s crush and when she was going through her treatments, it became clear that he needed to distance himself from her for her sake..and his. He wasn’t attracted to her as a young girl, but her illness and her crush meant that he would have many awkward moments in his future, so leaving to deal with his own family baggage seemed like the best thing to do. When he returns, he and Darcy become great friends that turn into more..and I was all for it.
I enjoyed the story and Sam made it so it didn’t seem creepy too taboo to enjoy.
Darcy’s road to adulthood has been tough. Diagnosed with cancer and not sure she has a future. And then she loses Ink as well. Can she trust him when he returns to her world?
Ink is seventeenth in Sam Crescent’s The Skulls series. Darcy is surrounded by love but she feels so alone. I could understand and empathize with her anger and frustration as she fights for her life. Ms. Crescent does a wonderful job of showing us Darcy’s feelings even as she gives us hope. I love that Ms. Crescent doesn’t dwell nor does she sugarcoat. I loved seeing Darcy’s journey and her new friendship with Ink. I loved that time away allowed them to see each other as equals. Ink can see more than Darcy’s illness, more than her age.
And while the book can be read as a standalone, I enjoyed returning to this world Ms. Crescent has created. I enjoyed seeing the changes and growth. Even as we see love blossom as friends become lovers with Darcy and Ink.
I was drawn to this story due to the heroine having cancer. I went into this wanting to read about the h’s struggle with cancer and hopefully overcoming it. However, that really was not the focus of the story. The main plot was about the H leaving when an underage club princess with cancer flirts with him. The time she battles cancer is not directly a part of the plot, the book jumps forward three years. Enter, the H back into the story. She’s now of legal age...and some suspect her cancer free diagnosis was a draw due to another loss he experienced in his past and worry what he will do if she develops cancer again. The story then focuses on their courtship and developing romance. The epilogues jump forward in time to fill is in on the couples life and progress. I found the epilogue to be so beautiful it brought me to tears.
I was so happy and shocked to finally see another Skulls book from Sam. She spoils us so much with the amount of books she writes. Ink and Darcy, the beginning of the kids of the original Skulls stories. This book had me from the very beginning. So emotional, sad and confronting in the beginning that it felt like a real life story. You also get so much of the characters I love from the Skulls series and the Chaos Bleeds series I am so looking forward to Tabitha's book.
4.5 stars... so happpy for Darcy, esspecially after what her father put her and her mother through before getting them back as a family! Ink is perfect for Darcy and Lash gave the BEST advice to Ink. Love Lash <3... Angel has a good one ;D. Great epilogue!
And, We are getting closer to Micheal and the rest of the Skull's children storylines. Yay!!!!
As usual this lady left everything in the book, it was amazing in all the right ways. Sweet and perfect with a bit of drama and time for the sweet girl to grow up. Yes their was some tough stuff in the story and each had to go through something to be able to be with each other but it was perfect
I love the Skulls series and this one was such a great read. I enjoyed the progression of Darcy and Ink's relationship. It wasn't a insta love situation. Darcy may have had a crush on Ink but she was going through some serious shit and Ink was way older than her and didn't want to disappoint her. After many years he is back and nothing is stopping them from falling. A great quick read.
Absolutely loved this addition to the The Skills series! I've read of of this series and loved every last one of them! Hope there are still more to come! Thank you for a wonderful series!❤❤
I loved this book and love the Skulls. I would have given it 5 stars if I didn’t keep getting the feeling that ink and Darcy were having the same damn conversation about why he left like 6 times. Honestly it got repetitive fast. I think this would have been a great 5 star novella with some editing.
So happy for this couple. Love comes around when you least suspect it. Happy we are getting into the children now. With Ink and Dracy adoption could be a start in a whole new generation.
I really loved this book. Ink and Darcy make such a beautiful couple. This book is an awesome addition to the skulls series. I cant wait for the next book in the series....And i really cant wait for Simon and Tabitha's book 💕💕💖💖
I always enjoy reading about love and this one didn't disappoint. This installment was a little slower than the rest, but still good. I do want to what happened with the skull kids.
I am such a big fan of Sam Crescent and her Skulls series is one of my favorites! Ink and Darcy just continue the amazing couples of this series. Great story!
What a totally amazing series!! I just absolutely loved this book and I can't wait for the next book to come out!! A definite must read!! Happy Reading!!! :)
I've finally found out about the conclusion of Darcy's life. I honestly didn't think I'd be reading her and Ink's story, but I'm happy with the outcome.
3.5 I was really disappointed in this story. Where's the chemistry? We knew Darcy has always loved Ink but we don't see his feeling for her it's like he just settles? This story should have been full length to keep following the others of the club. I like getting to see them but this was just a novella we needed time with Darcy and Ink to see the chemistry. This had a lot more going on and needed couple time.
In so happy the story was continue. I was dying to find out what was going on with Darcy . It was eating me alive love the story but know I'm wondering if it continue because of the skills mid to see leaving me hanging i have to say love the series thank you hoping it still continues more
