I really enjoyed this conclusion to the El Léon story.  Initially I was skeptical about Maria but she ended up being a great character.  Jake was very likeable and someone you could easily root for.  I loved Congresswoman Buchanan!!!!   Lots of action, some emotional drama and of course 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 sexy times.  All in all great story .

Jake Bulleit is a medically discharged SEAL who has been looking for a job for two years. One testimony threw all of his hard work out of the window and black listed him from finding a good job after being discharged from the Navy. One road side bomb destroyed his life, but now he has a second chance with a job working for the Secret Service. He may not like the first assignment he is given, but he will do his job without question. He’s an honorable man with a kind heart and a lot of pain in his heart. His first night in Washington DC, he meets a firecracker of a woman at a bar and has a memorable one-night stand. He’s not happy when she sends him on his way after the mind-blowing sex.

Maria Schneider works for Congresswoman Buchanan, a woman who wants to bring Arellano Mendoza, El Leon, to the US to testify at a Congressional Hearing for the money that the CIA is always requesting and using for covert missions. Ms. Schneider is Congresswoman Buchanan’s Aid and has been assigned the duty of protecting and escorting El Leon and his family. She’s not ready for the lone Secret Service Agent that has been assigned for the protection detail of El Leon and his family, he’s the man that she met a week ago and had a one-night stand with.

This story was full of action, lust, and political deception. I really enjoyed the story and fell in love with Bulleit. He’s a man who sticks to his beliefs and will fight for those beliefs, no matter the consequences. He’s honorable, sweet and very sexy. The heat between Jake and Maria is instantaneous and very hot. They were made for each other and it is proven in this story.

I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend it to readers who enjoy political deception, ex-military men, and people who fight for the rights of others and keep their morals no matter what may happen in the end.

Jake Bulleit, a former Navy SEAL gets his first solo Secret Service assignment since being discharged from the military several years earlier. He should be excited but then he finds out he will be guarding El Leon, the notorious Mexican Drug Cartel who is in America testifying before Congress about the CIA's involvement in supplying drugs to Mexico. Something is wrong, there should be multiple agents assigned to this detail and Jake quickly learns out how much trouble this assignment will bring him. Maria has her secrets and needs and when she sees the muscular, blue-eyed handsome cowboy at a local bar, she realizes that he is just what she needs to scratch her itch. It was supposed to be a quick "one and done" never to be seen again but then a week later they are teamed up when Maria is the Congressional Aide assigned to accompany El Leon and his family while in America. There is danger, excitement, and hot sexual attraction in this book which is exactly why Simone Scarlet's loyal fans eagerly flock to her latest book for their fix. If you haven't read any of the other Knucklehead books or the others containing characters mentioned in this book, I encourage you to go back and treat yourself to their wonderful reads. Like me, you will be hooked on these characters!

Jake Bulleit left the Navy after his convoy took a friendly fire hit. He's gone through some rough times since then and now has a chance to be someone again. He's been recruited by the secret service and his first job is to escort a foreign ambassador who will be testifying before Congress. Big catch...It's Arellano Mendoza, known as El Leon, Mexican drug cartel baron and his wife and son are with him. Bigger catch...his one night stand from a week ago is the congressional side accompanying them. Biggest catch...half the U.S. government wants El Leon dead before he speaks at that hearing.
Maria Schneider lost her fiance a year ago and she's not ready for a relationship yet, but gets lonely sometimes. She picked up Jake in a bar a week ago, then kicked him out, never expecting to see him again. Now here he is, all decked out in government black, ready to escort her and the Mendozas to their hotel. That's just the first surprise she'll get in the next two days.
As if this isn't enough excitement for one book, you also get a healthy dose of Knuckleheads to spice things up and the expected arrival of Randy Somerset.
I don't know how Simone does it, but her books just keep getting better!

Excellent story and a truly an emotional read!

Maria was looking for a man to fill her carnal needs just for one night. That man happened to be Jake Bulleit and once she got her needs met she kicked him out of her place and expected to never see him again. But alas, fate had other plans and now Maria not only had to see him she also had to work with him on a special assignment. She was escorting Arellano "El León" Mendoza and his family to a congressional hearing where he was testifying about CIA activities and the Secret Service agent assigned to accompany them was Jake Bulleit. This story is absolutely edge of your seat exciting from beginning to end and super emotional to boot. Grab this wonderful book today and find out what these two must go through to get the job done. It's a lot of action with some steamy scenes as well and a great read that I highly recommend.

What a great ending this story was for the Knuckleheads series. It had such an action packed plot mixed with the hottest scenes that the authors specialized on that I couldn't put it down. On top of that getting a glimpse at all the amazing characters that have made the knuckleheads series an great series was the cherry on top of the sundae.

Love her books! This one starts off with a quickie, then turns into they have to work together, evolves into bad guys trying to kill them and the people they are trying to protect, a gun battle, prison time and an excellent ending. This was an author ARC and hoping there will be more

This book will keep you on the edge of your seat.

This is a must read for anyone who likes a whole lot of heat, heart and action. This is a hellava ride. The story is well written and the characters are wonderful and so much chemistry between them all.

A great read

I love this series. Jake is a veteran who meets a gorgeous woman and has a one night stand. A week later he is off on a job as a Secret Service agent and who should be meet but her. This job is not all what it is made out to be.
