I really thought I was finally reading the last part of this amazing story but unfortunately I was left with nothing in my hands. The combination of suspense has intensified, both characters are aware of their love for one another but in the meantime something has interfered with their happiness. What really affected me in this part of the story is actually Dylan’s secret, which I must say scares me not because it’s horrible. On the contrary it’s something that perhaps could change their entire life dramatically yet it could also be a motivation for penance, I guess I need to read the last part and see what happens.

ARC review For honest review. As we get more into emily Thompson (Stephanie) relationship with Dylan James and their relationship changes secrets will have to be told or be found out. I love how with ever book she growing and becoming more confident in herself even though she's realizing where she stands with Dylan and her family. Awesome job 10 stars.

Dark Secret is the third installment in the Dark Desire series. A full-length standalone novel with no cheating, and ends on a mind-blowing cliffhanger. A story with complex characters and a twisty storyline that captures your attention from chapter one and keeps you spellbound and turning the pages right up until that mind-blowing cliffhanger. This brilliantly addictive Summer Cooper is a new author to me, and frankly I'm mad at myself for being late to the party. This series is addicting and deliciously good. The story continues where it left off, Emily has walked out on Dylan because she didn't want to sign another one of his contracts. He told her that if she walks out the door that they would be over. She didn't think he meant it and that it was just in the heat of their argument.
She had hoped that he would follow her after she gave him that ultimatum and perhaps profess his love or agrees to try without a contract. But no such luck, now she's miserable and can't get but a few hours of sleep in an empty bed. She now has no dom or family after they kicked her out if it because of her relationship with Dylan. Her family has refuse to talk to her all because she as finally chosen to live her life how she wanted to and has chosen Dylan over them. She now has a beautiful home, a nice car, and income that she doesn't have to work but wants to. She has even finish her degree to work in the family hotel business. The fight between her and Trent was really bad and he told her that she was off-limits to her family including her nieces and nephews. Emily is going stir crazy being alone in her new home to the point of getting migraines. Dylan is drinking himself into a stupor and can not believe that Stephanie walked out on him, no one has ever done that before, usually the contracts ends or he moves on from the relationship. He's going crazy without her in his life, and drank too much until he has a headache. Stephanie had taught him a lot of things during the time that they were together, such as stop and taking time to look and enjoying his surroundings instead of always being in a rush.
Dylan requires a contract because of his troubled past, because of having survived the insanity of a mom with mental illness. His mom ups and down insanity and her trapping his dad with him, that why he always require a contract so that you know what you're getting yourself into from the start then there would be no doubt, no guilt or insanity. He doesn't want any relationship because he doesn't believe that he's worthy of being loved and he doubt that he can have the loving marriage that his adoptive parents has. He blames himself for the death of his biological parents, if his mom had not trapped his dad with him then maybe they would still be there right now. If he tells her all this then maybe she would understand his reasons for wanting a contract in their relationship. Dylan didn't wanted a relationship but being with Stephanie had changed all that and now he wants one. He can not imagine his life without her not being it and that his a first for him. After a week with no communication from Dylan Stephanie believes that it was really over and decided to go to Elmo's to see if she can find another dom, torn with her decision she decides to seek Roxie's advice first before she tries another dom.
Dylan had went to Elmo's to ask Roxie for her advice and what to do with Stephanie, but he saw the two having drinks. He thought that she would come to him, but after seeing her with Roxie all dressed he knew that she was there to find a new dom, that was too much for him and jealousy gripped him so he left. Although his stomach was knotted with hurt, he decided that two can play that game too, because Stephanie was still dead set on not having a contract. Dylan wants to punish Stephanie for not agreeing to another contract, but she's defiant and won't budge. He rocks his brain to think of a solution to their problems but for some reason his pride won't let him go to her. They're both miserable and going out of their minds. He throws himself in work in order to occupy his mind. He tried working but she's in his thoughts and dreams. He couldn't get her out of his mind regardless of what he do. Her brother his torn in his sight and is always snatching away deals right out of from under him.
He's jaded by love because of his past, he believes it makes you crazy given what he saw from his biological mom, and because of that he had made a promise years ago never to fall victim to love because his dad had paid the ultimate price. Bored and lonely she decided to do a Google search on Dylan's name and discovered the fire about his parents and all that he had been through. She was even more upset with Trent for calling him a murder after he knew the truth, feeling empathy and protective of him she decided to go see him. She now understood his reasoning behind the contract after she read the articles on his life prior to going to live with the James. She went to him and when they saw each other they couldn't take their hands and mouth off each other. She decided that she would offer him two weeks without a contract to see how it went or how he cope, and if that didn't work then she would sign his contract if he still wanted one.
She was still hiding secrets of her own, she wanted to tell him who she was. But they just got back together so she did want to mess anything up. He hated Trent and she was afraid that if she tell him that she was Trent's sister that he would think that she was trying to mess him over. But at the same time she knows that holding her identity is just as incriminating. It would like she was hiding her identity from him purposely. Dylan know that she's hiding something and he will figure it out. He just knows that she's not after his money because she comes from money. Everything was finally going good for Stephanie and Dylan, she was finally ready to tell him her secret and he had given a contract that he thought that she would be agreeable to, until he discovered her true identity. He was wondering if Trent could stoop that low and send his little sister into a sex club to be dominated by him and spy on him just to get one up on him.
He was hurt and angry because he was starting to fall in love with her and now she has broken the little trust that they had found. This story is filled with deception, lies, secrets, betrayal, enemies, anger, hurt, pain, family issues, hatred, resentment, tension, emotions, heartbreak, longing, trust issues, push and pull, jealousy, steam, passion, power exchange, bondage, dominance, kinks, BDSM, spanking, rough intense sex, lust, surprises, submission, passion revelations, and so much more. Will Dylan forgives Emily now that he find out her secret? Can she convince him that she was in a relationship for herself and it doesn't have anything to do with the Thompsons? Will they find their way back to each other or go their separate way?

Our story continues in this next installment of Dylan and Emily’s story. Emily and Dylan’s split lasted a week before she showed up on his doorstep. If she would not have made the first move then he would have chased her down. He would have agreed to anything to get her back in his life and so they agreed to try no contract for a month.
Everything is going great, but Dylan still wants a contract. He just can’t seem to grasp his feelings or how to handle them. He thinks a contract will put that wall in to place and make it less personable. But little does he know all good things must come to an end.
Emily still carries the secret of who she really is. She wants to tell Dylan, but is afraid. Her family has threatened to desert her and she just can’t lose anyone else. But secrets have a way of destroying. Will her secret be the final blade to cut them apart?
This series is a dark intense love affair. Dylan the Dom and Emily the Stubborn Sub. A deeply dark and intriguing love affair of epic proportions. These two have such a strong sexual energy. They can’t seem to leave each other alone, yet it may just be their downfall.
Each book dives deeper into the world of BDSM with these two characters. A world that fascinates and terrifies at the same time. Summer Cooper has created such a realistic fantasy world with very deep emotional characters. Her story comes to life with Dylan and Emily. It draws the readers in with its rich characters and descriptive world.
Overall this book is a steady read, with a interesting story line. I love the characters and challenges that they are presented with. I can not wait to see where our couple goes next with the tragic heartbreaking ending of this book.
Watch out Fifty Shades, Summer Coopers story might just knock you out of the water.

Didn't like this one quite as much as the last one, though it does move the story along the only thing of substance that happens is we learn that Dylan is ill. He is also an a**, but we knew that.
Emily, or Stephanie as Dylan knows her, is torn up by their break up. She has now lost her family and her Dom and is even lonelier than before. She doesn't understand why Dylan insists on a contract when he obviously has feelings for her, as she does for him. Dylan is even worse off as he drinks himself unconscious for a few days before giving himself a good talking to and getting back to business. He tells himself that Stephanie is being totally unreasonable, but he has a hard time convincing himself.
Stephanie finally can't stand it any more and goes to Dylan's, not sure of her reception. When Dylan grabs onto her like a drowning man she is relieved and hopes he will give them a chance. He agrees to two weeks without a contract, and she hopes for the best. When he is to unable to get out of bed after a night of dancing she knows something is wrong, but Dylan brushes it off and since he is under a doctor's care she can't really pry.
I am not going to tell you more, except to say that the end of the book resembles the beginning and we will have to wait for the next one to see where Dylan and "Emily" go now. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

My heart is pounding, as I write my review, for this incredibly crafted book. Dark secret is everything that its name implies. I have been an avid fan of Ms. Summer Cooper for years. To me, personally, she is an Author, head and shoulders, above the rest. Everything she publishes is amazing. However, with the creation of this series, I'm sure she's picked up quite a few new fans. This is the latest installment to a superior series and it just keeps getting better, trust that I did not think that was even possible. As Dylan and Emily grow closer as a couple, it is revealed that Dylan has health issues, although, we don't know what they are, at this time and Emily just wants to love him; contract or not. While you would think their bond is unbreakable, Dylan has just learned her identity. I encourage all fence of dark romance, to follow along as these to fight for their happily ever after. I truly do not want to give too much information away, however, I will tell you this book, as well as series, is worth your time and will have you hooked from page one.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Dark Secret in exchange for my honest & voluntarily given opinion. I couldn't recommend this series / book more. In fact, anything she publishes is a must-read. Right now, in fact, I'm going to download & consume every word of the next installment to this series.

Some Secrets Revealed
While Stephanie/Emily and Dylan's relationship continues to develop, she is forced to choose between him and her family. Unaware of this, and also still unaware of her real identity, Dylan senses that she is having some issues and acts as supportive as he can, while realizing that his demand for some continued walls (via their contracts) doesn't allow for the level of emotional intimacy that would bare all their truths. Yet, due to his history, he can't/won't make that leap. While, on the other side, Stephanie/Emily tries to determine when and how to reveal herself and her family affiliation. And now there's also the newly raised issue of Dylan's back problems that apparently are way more serious than he's letting on.
These two are caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place. And, as much as they both realize how strongly they feel for one another, they cannot have a wholly complete connection without exposing their vulnerable underbellies.
This series gets better and better with each turn of the page. As much as I want to know how it plays out (I'm very impatient that way), I can't say that the failure to provide answers to all my wondering is causing the story to drag at all. Each revelation is almost like a gift. So, I'm off, seeking more answers.

OMG!!! Dark Secret will have your heart in your throat as you follow the journey into the world of submission/domination as Stephanie/Emily finally gives herself over to Dylan as she learns that this is what she has yearned for all of her life as she has never been shown love by her family only used by them. Dylan is putting up walls due to his tormented past and secrets he is keeping from her as well as his doubts as his feelings for her are changing. The chemistry and passion between these two is explosive from the beginning and only gets stronger. With all of the lies and secrets between them, will these two be able to overcome these obstacles as trust and relationships will be tested. Once the truth comes out, will this be end for them and will Dylan believe she has used him for her families scheme to stop his plans for his business? Once again Summer Cooper takes you on an emotional ride with this story, now we have to wait for the next book to see how all of this plays out. This series is a must read! I voluntairly reviewed an advance copy of this book.

Stephanie (Emily) comes back to Dylan and seeks him out. Stephanie agrees to no contract for a month, and then they can see how things are going at the end of the month. Stephanie needs to come clean about who she is, but can she come clean now and still not lose what she has with Dylan? Or will Dylan understand?
Dylan wants Stephanie in his life, but how does he admit that? How can he have a relationship with this woman and not have a contract? He knows she is hiding something, but not sure what. The Dom in him wants her to come clean...one way or another. But what if it destroys their relationship?
This series is a dark intense romance that pushes you to your limits. But with each installment comes a deeper level of understanding of Stephanie/Emily and Dylan and each of their pasts. They explore each other and get deeper into the BDSM world as it relates to them and how they want to explore that aspect. I can't wait to see where this story goes and what is in store for Emily and Dylan!! I received an ARC of this book from the author.

ONE SMASHING TREAT!!!
Crikey Mates! Wow! Man, talk about rough and tumble. This is one tough cookie. You will not believe how this installment plays out. A rollercoaster of unexpected surprises and mishaps propel all of your emotions forward bursting to life beautifully. An intense storyline and gripping plot holds you tightly on a razors edge and total focus riveted to each word that has you flipping page after page. The characters chemistry is whirling hot, spinning tightly, luring you into the churning vortex, you're all wrapped up until you feel the impact. The way Summer has the scenes playing out with such realism it gives the illusion your along for the ride. Emily has been disowned by her family and she is not able to contact them, see them or anything. She is devastated. She wanted to take comfort in Dylan’s arms and use his strength to get through this mess, but she walked out on him and hasn’t heard from him. The secrets they carry are just sitting below the surface threating to destroy the happiness thats just beginning.
With contracts up in the air, deals being made, curveballs thrown and family drama rearing its ugly head... its a mess!
Hot and heart heavy- the plot twists continue with a frustrating edge! The back and forth between Emily and Dylan is enough to drive me mad!
I have become soooo invested in the dark, twisted emotional whirlwind these two are caught up in- I need the final book right now(!) just to put the characters and myself out of their misery. ( LOL I need a life )

what a great read on that is hard to put down even if you try. Stephanie aka Emily has been hidings the fact her life might be more of a secret to Dylan than she would want him to know. Dylan might be Mr. dark to Stephanie as he as he knows her ,but deep down he is just a guy with a lot of hurt and trauma that he doesn't want anyone to know including a few trust issue . Dylan and step book has you wanting them to tell each other there dark secret's that they have held from each other I guess when the truth comes out there will be more of a boom then a blessing time will only tell . I received this book as an arc for an honest review and I can say it is a book that has a lot of heat and suspense that will make want to come back for more . I cant wait to see if the truth will help these two or hurt them more I guess time will only tell .

Book 3 in the Dark series. Steph/Emily continues to keep her true identity a secret from Dylan. She is still torn on when the right time will be to tell him her true identity until it's too late! He has been keeping a secret of his own & there are subtle hints on what his secret is. In the meantime, Steph is becoming more confident & intentionally is bratty around him, loving his "hands on" attention. The chemistry is off the charts & both characters are amazing!
I highly recommend reading this series as you'll be glued to reading each of them cover-to-cover & still want more! Summer's novels are amazingly great to read.

Wow, I was absolutely astounded reading this book it was amazing, the story was mesmerising and the characters were really sensational. This story was about Emily and Dylan, Emily had a horrible upbringing her brothers used her when it suited them otherwise she was left in the dark so she was at a high end gentleman's club, that is when they met she lied to him, but the chemistry was fiery hot they could not get enough. Dylan is a Dominant alpha male, he had a dark upbringing, nearly charged for the death of his parents. Now he has knew parents, foster parents. He still holds painful memories.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
This is the third part of this series and I suggest reading the previous two first. My heart goes out to Emily/Stephanie as she is pulled in deeper with Mr Dark aka Dylan, she also has her overbearing family causing all sorts of emotional drama for her, will her secrets finally come to light and can Dylan deal with her secret. Both their secrets and emotions are coming to the forefront and both with have to deal soon.....
Well written story, packed with plenty of drama and emotion. Wonderful characters with sizzling chemistry. But another cliffy....

OMG!!!!! I’m so on edge this book will have you on an emotional roller coaster!!!🔥🔥🔥 I feel so sorry for Emily just wanting a real relationship with no contract! But, Dylan is afraid to commit with his past still haunting him...😔The suspense of what’s going to happen next is killing me slowly!!!🥴 This book is so good and addicting!!! This an amazing third in the series. It is a well written suspenseful, exciting, emotionally engaging romance with great twists and surprises. The characters are well developed with explosive intense chemistry, sexual tension, and passion. I am on the edge of my seat as Dylan with his secrets, is having issues with his back and legs and struggling with flashbacks of his childhood. This is all going as Emily has her own secret that could tear them apart. This is all while their secrets are eating at each of them. Then boom it all explodes leaving on another cliffy as I am biting my nails till the next one. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC and absolutely need the next in the series.

Dark Secret is book three in the Dark Series and WOW what an ending! Emily is trying to keep her secret from Dylan and he has a secret of his own. Just when they realize how they feel each other secrets are revealed. This book had me on the edge of my seat from the start. The storyline is great and there's so much going on in this book but I definitely recommend you read the first two books before this one to get the whole story. This is a well written, steamy read with two characters that have off the chart chemistry. It ends in a cliffhanger so I anxiously await the next book. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Thrilling and captivating, this storyline and these characters will take hold and not let go and Cooper will leave you needing more! I love this series! Things are getting serious between Emily and Dylan, though he still doesn’t know who she truly is. She walked away from him but returns when she realizes just how much he means to her. She learns a little about his past from an article but doesn’t let on she knows. It looks like his feelings are changing and there may be a chance for a future for them but it may all come crashing down when he finds out who she is but it doesn’t come from her. I can’t wait to read what happens next in their saga.

This is the next installment of Dylan and Emily’s story I was so excited thinking this was the conclusion but sadly it’s not. With more happiness and pleasure Dylan and Emily are happy, But Dylan need that contract to keep things separate so as time comes to the end will Emily sign the contract or will she walk out again. But sadly before anything like that can happen secrets are revealed. What will happen in the next story hopefully the conclusion to the story. I am fully enjoying this series it’s sexy, hot, suspenseful, romantic and sad. I love everything Summer Cooper writes.

This is the third installment of Stephanie and Dylan's story. He agrees to go two weeks with no contract to see if they can make things work. There is lots of conflict and emotions both in the relationship and Stephanie has to deal with her new "family" relationship. Seems weird that they would all go along with what Trent, the oldest brother wants. When her biggest secret comes out, will they be able to move forward? Can they learn to trust? Looking forward to the next book.

I am on pins and needles after reading this book. Book 3 in this series is terrific as is the cliff hanger at the end! I cannot wait to see what is next for Dylan and Emily (aka Stephanie). I will say I am hugely disappointed in Emily's family I read each of their books and never thought they would end up with their heads so far up their own keisters. Especially Emily's "best friend" and sister in law Jessi. Shame on both Trevor and his wife.

Light BDSM has turned darker--it seemed. But actually the love between Emily (Stephanie, as he knows her) and Dylan has become deeper and more committed; but neither has revealed the truth of their deep secrets, although the vulnerabilities caused by those secrets have become evident and more endearing to each other. I know I said I did not give five star reviews to cliffhangers, but this was so delicious that I could not help myself. Also good that the next book will be live in six days! I volunteered this review from an ARC.
