Rate this book
How consultants work and how to make them work for you!

Consultants are expensive and need to be managed, closely, in order to get the value from their services. But few organizations manage their consultants effectively.

Organizations put consultants on pedestals and don't manage them. This is dangerous and expensive.

Using only true stories this entertaining book spells out how consultants work and how you as buyers must manage them to get the value from their fees.

The books uses two interleaved stories.

The first story is of a Managing Partner of a fictitious consulting firm answering questions from new hires about how a consulting firm works.

The second story is of a ex-strategy consultant now CEO answering questions from other CEOs about how to deal their problems with consultants.

These two stories are interleaved to give you the inside consulting and buyer views of the same topics.

Fun, horrifying, scathing and other descriptions have been used to describe this book. On the whole consultants hate it — which must be a good thing.

In essence it is practical with a series of 'Rules' provided (and summarised at the end) to help you get the best out of every consultancy and consultant you ever hire (if you'll ever hire one again!)
