From the outside, Adrienne has everything any woman could want. However, she knows what real happiness is, and it isn’t having a good job and a condominium. Traveling home to her small Texas town for a friend’s wedding, Adrienne is hit from all sides with the happiness she hasn’t found for herself—her long-married parents, her joyful sister and brother-in-law and their two children, and her childhood friends. They all think she has it all… all except one.
Trace has been a nemesis since grade school. Always ready with a quip and happy to squabble over even the smallest thing, Adrienne dreaded seeing him when she came back for the wedding. So why does it seem like Trace is the only one who really knows her, who sees her for who she is?
Losing his parents to a plane crash and his uncle to cancer, Trace is not too keen on losing anyone else close to him. If only she didn’t skip town after graduation. He didn’t have time to tell her how he felt. There was a reason behind all his teasing. He loved their banters. It meant spending time with her. He could hear her voice. Now she’s back, but her leaving is inevitable. He’d have to risk his heart by asking her to stay. He can’t take another loss.
Working to save their friends’ wedding brings Adrienne and Trace together. The clock is ticking, and it’s the worst blizzard Lakeshore, Texas has seen in years. Will these two match their friends or end up matched themselves?
Daria has lived in Texas most of her life. She never enjoyed reading as a kid. In fact, she almost hated it. However, as she grew up, that all changed. Though she received her degree in healthcare management, Daria kept her writing as a hobby. She meant it to be private and her own way of expressing herself. It never crossed her mind to publish until she was in college. She took a chance and published. It worked! As a multi-genre writer, she truly writes what comes to mind. She currently lives in New York with her husband. Learn more at dariawhite.com.
This is a sweet, clean, indie romance novel which is honestly just calling out to be adapted into a hallmark movie.
The overall plot line of friends-to-lovers is one that I enjoy, though this one is complicated slightly by their “teasing”/“arguing” relationship. It was still really sweet though!
It sounds a strange thing to say but I think Daria White has a lot of potential as a writer. I’d love to see White writing Hallmark movies or getting pick up by a mainstream publisher to write more holiday romance.
I also really liked the fact this book features two Black MCs just falling in love and living their lives, without racism featuring (something we know mainstream publishing is terrible for making the focus point).
The main thing that hinders this book, IMO, is simply the amount of typos and grammatical errors. I work in editorial so I’m probably a harsher reader than most in this regard, but I think with another round on an editor’s desk, this book could really shine.
If you’re in the mood for a sweet, predictable, lovely storyline (which I was) then this one could be for you.
I’ll definitely be reading more from Daria White, and look forward to watching their career as a writer progress.
Adrienne and Trace's story is one of nemesis to lovers but what if Trace could not find a way to tell Adrienne his true feelings and teasing her was his only way. This story drew me in from the beginning it was like you where there watching as their love bloomed. A beautiful time of the year for it all to come together at Christmas. This is a new Author to me I will be watching to see what else she puts out. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I must be crazy, reading a Christmas romance in July! And it’s hot outside. Despite that, I became totally immersed into the story. I love how much the MC talks about food. The romance is sweet and the ending was so charming! Well-written, uplifting and wonderful pass for time.
Adrianne’s character was so depressing! I kept waiting on her to get herself together. She was so silly just a hot mess. Who lets a high school break up keep them stagnant for 10 years? It was just too much. I feel like I wasted a whole day reading this book waiting on it to get better.
This story is very sweet, but circular. Adrienne was a bit too wimpy and Trace a bit too reticent. The back and forth thinking gave me whiplash. Even Eric and Paige needed a good shaking. Sometimes I felt the author was trying too hard with repeating the characters thoughts over and over. Hea, so I'm good.
Great read. I love romance, I love Christmas and I love snow. Perfect storyline and beautiful characters. Somewhat repetitive and at times I felt we were rehashing Adrienne's fears too much. But much like life, time was needed to work through past hurts and find her real love. :)
Wonderful storyline! Chosen because of the winter and Christmas theme. The author has underdeveloped abilities and a bright future in writing.
Now for the negative, fire your editor! Your grammar is preventing a clear vision of a great story, your ideas are muddled and sometimes chaotic. Some ideas are repetitive making a superior story mind-numbing.
This is first read by this author. It was really sweet! Adrienne finding her way home, and Trace getting the courage to let her know how he feels. Very well written! I’ve found a new author to follow.
This story was cute. I loved all the characters in the book and the small town romances. Andrienne and Trace found what they wanted while trying to keep their two friends together. Good story line.
Childhood friends who become lovers…. I enjoyed this one. Definitely recommend this one as a holiday read or if you want to read about a beautiful friendship that becomes more. Family and close friends always saw the sparks between the two but they could never see it themselves. All changes when truth is revealed.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Can Adrienne stop trying to be perfect all the time? Match-Made Christmas by Daria White is the first book by this author that I have read and it was awesome. I loved how the characters are so very stubborn. That I get since they both have demons that they are trying to keep at bay. Adrienne Fields Adrienne Fields is our main female lead, and she is a twenty-eight-year-old romance author living in Los Angeles, California. She is heading home to Lakeshore, Texas, for her best friend's wedding and to see if being home will recharge her writing abilities. Adrienne is the youngest of two siblings, and she has always felt like she doesn't belong at home. She has quite a few demons. The fact that her high school sweetheart broke up with her before graduation, and because of that, Adrienne wants to prove to everyone that she can take care of herself and to come back triumphant. She is also very headstrong and likes to pick fights. Trace Carson Trace Carson is our main male lead, and he is a twenty-eight-year-old furniture store owner that has lived his whole life in Lakeshore, Texas. He didn't leave for college or anything which he's okay with how it has turned out. Trace loves living in the small-town and thought that he was over Adrienne, but he wasn't. Throughout he tried to deny his feelings, but that wasn't easy. He is a great guy who took the pulling the girl you likes hair to show you care thing throughout the entire time that he has known Adrienne. Five Stars for Match-Made Christmas Match-Made Christmas by Daria White is one of a kind type of books that I love. There is the happily-ever-after ending, but it was the writing that always makes a well-known story. The tale here is boy and girl have known each other all their lives, and it only takes one event to change how they see each other. I liked it so much. I am giving it a five-star rating, and I enjoyed the characters and the banter between Adrienne and Trace. I recommend this book to all you HEA romance readers out there.
Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed my review of Match-Made Christmas by Daria White.
This is my first read by Daria White and it shows promise.
This should have been a quick and easy read, but it took me a few days to get through it. The characters were okay, but could have been developed more. Adrienne left home to pursue her dream as a writer. Upon returning home for her bestie's wedding, she begins to realize how much she misses the town and its people. Trace is the best man in the wedding and looking forward to seeing Adrienne again. They grew up together and constantly bickered, in a fun kinda way.
The book is laden with editing issues, mostly missing words, that began to annoy me. Hopefully this will be corrected before release. The book is written in dual pov that I found insightful and easy to follow. The story was sweet and clean, though I wanted the main characters to just open their mouths and say what everyone else already knew!
There were parts of the story that caused me to smile, but the story did not engross me in it. I did not feel an urgency to pick the story up after putting it down. I think this book is a good start though. I would try another book by this author because I see promise of good clean stories, a rarity.
I was given a free copy of this book from Booksprout. My opinion is my own.
I loved this book from the first sentence! The author does a great job with descriptions of the story and locations and makes you feel like you are right there in the story with the characters. Adrienne is headed back home to Texas, for her friends wedding, where she will be surrounded by all the happiness her family and friends have. Adrienne knows she is missing real happiness in her life and even though her friends think she has everything, one person knows she doesn't. Trace has lost his parents and his uncle and doesn't want to lose anyone else in his life. When Adrienne left town before Trace had the chance to tell her how he felt, he thought he wouldn't get the chance again. Now that she's back will he tell her how he really feels about her? Will Adrienne realize the real happiness she's missing could be found with Trace? Will she leave town and risk losing the chance at happiness or will she stay and find her happiness with Trace?

I enjoyed this story from the beginning to the end. It is a quick read with characters that are strong, realistic ,believable and a nice story set around Christmas. Adrienne and Trace grew up together and were friends. When they are brought together for their friends wedding things start to change between them. Frist time reading this author and will look for more by her.

everyone thinks she has everything but when she goes home for a wedding she is the only one who is not or getting married and having a family. He is glad to see her even though he would tease her. He loved her. They will need to work together to get their friends wedding back on track. Will they? Will they finally be a couple? See what will happen

My first book by Daria White and won't be my last.
This was a sweet romantic love story. It was a relatively quick and easy read but satisfying. I liked the characters and the banter between them. Not just the main 2 characters but all the others too. Great small town setting and the extra wonderful touch of a white christmas.
I loved Match-Made Christmas! I'm a sucker for all things Christmas and the friends-to-lovers trope. Curl up with a mug of hot chocolate and your coziest blanket (even if you have to crank up the A.C.😉), and enjoy this sweet, satisfying read. You'll fall for this adorable couple and their cute, light-hearted banter. Definitely won't be my last read by Daria White.❤️
