This came right a long with the More than Words book, significant help in bringing a nonverbal child out of their world to join and learn to enjoy ours. Another how to book for parents with autistic or nonverbal children.

I bought this book, and rented the "It Takes Two To Talk: A Practical Guide For Parents of Children With Language Delays" from Amazon because it was super expensive (even the rent costed me around $30) I'm glad I bought this one. I believe this book was more helpful for me than the other one. The other one was like college books. This book was like another mother sharing experience. It had more ideas about how to do different activities and even list of books and rhymes! very helpful resource, and cheaper, especially if you can find a used one

Although I'm not officially trained in the Hanen approach, this book is wonderful for professionals and parents. Caregivers looking for an approach that is easy to incorporate into everyday activities will enjoy this book.

My son has had a communication delay from early on, so I am always looking for ways to help. I read this book a couple of years ago. It was helpful, but I think a little too pricey. I also was looking for more of a :do this" and "do that" type of book (ie, more specifics).
