A decent mystery. Scarlet Baker has been selected to host a baking show. Unfortunately, she finds out she has a co-host: Finn Fine. After recording the first episode, she makes it back to her dressing room to discover a body. The rest of the episode is spent sleuthing between events that might or might not be dates.

Overall the identity of the culprit remains unclear to the end but with several alternates postulated in the meantime. Scarlet's sleuthing skills are not nearly as competent as her baking skills: stumbling on clues regularly. Yet she doesn't quite come across as a bumbler. The story includes some suspense and thriller aspects. A good start for the series.

Entertaining. Haunting. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.

I received a review copy of this book from a third party. This is my honest review.

Scarlet is now going to be on TV and she thought she was the host of the show. But to her surprise Finn Fine is her co-host. She is having some time adjusting to the show, the people who work on the set and the director. But when a crew member gets murdered and she finds the body, things get very weird.

She feels that she needs to find the murderer so that the show will not be pulled. Finn is trying to help her but she feels that he could be a suspect which makes her nervous. Then the Detective who is investigating the case seems to have a special interest in her, she is worried that she is a suspect.

This story is a fast and fun read. There are a lot twists and turns and the ending will surprise you.

A new series by Rose Pressey and she does not disappoint. We have our protagonist, Scarlett Baker being invited to host a TV show, The Cupcake Whisperer showing what she can do. But she is given a co-host, a great looking Finn Fine. Trying to find her way in the show, one of the crew is murdered. Will she lose the show? With enough twists and turns and a detective on the case who seems to take a liking to her, we are led through many dead ends and Scarlett thinking she may even be a suspect. Can she find the murderer before he finds her? It seems she may be next! I like this series so far and want to read more. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Ok

They storyline is interesting, however, the execution leaves the story flat. The conversations do not flow naturally and the characters are a little superficial. The plot doesn't make a lot of sense but does lead to a conclusion. It is a quick, life read.
