If Rylie had a checklist for her life it would look like this:
• Full-time job . . . check.
• Serious boyfriend . . . check.
•No dead bodies in months . . . check.
On paper it looked good. Fantastic even.
But in reality, she still lives in her parents' basement, doesn't feel like part of the ranger team, and knows a body is bound to show up at any moment.
When she discovers a teenage boy with severe hypothermia, Rylie has to work with one of her biggest rivals to figure out what happened.
High school never seemed so brutal.
In a world of cliques and parties, championship football games and college applications, Rylie is sure she'll be able to solve the mystery.
Until she finds another boy . . .
Will Rylie be able to piece together the hormone-fueled puzzle before it's too late? Will the boys survive? And will she ever get out of her parents' basement?
Fans of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series and Meg Cabot's Heather Wells Mysteries will love Throttled, the third installment of the Rylie Cooper Mystery Series.
Stella Bixby is a native Coloradan who loves to snowboard, pluck at the guitar, and play board games with her family. She was once a volunteer firefighter and a park ranger, but now spends most of her time making up stories and trying to figure out what to cook for dinner.
Another fun installment in the Rylie Cooper Mysteries! Lots of mystery, laughs, and unexpected romance!! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Rylie next.
This is another excellent Rylie Cooper mystery. In this story, Rylie finds in the park a teenage boy naked, unconscious and covered in snow, barely alive. There are many twists and turns as she tries to investigate, and while doing that, she finds another teenager in dire straits and knows that there is something greater going on here. As she continues, her life is threatened also. This is a fast-reading and very satisfying mystery.
I am enjoying this series so much! Highly recommended if you like a fast paced mystery, the outdoors and some love tangles.... This book ended with a cliffhanger on the background story. I will start the next one right away....
Of course I start off the series with book 3…AGAIN🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️. I don’t think it’s going to matter much though. The series seems to mostly have the same characters but each book has a different story. I will try to read them in order from here on out though. Rylie is very likable and loves a good mystery! She can’t help but “investigate”. In other words, she’s nosy as hell and has to find out the answers! I love her already!!

**rounded up or down based on how the book left me feeling and because Goodreads doesn’t offer half stars.
"Throttled", third in the Rylie Cooper series, is by far the best so far. "Catfish" and "Suckered" were both readable but lazy books from an author who is capable of much better. It is both more focussed and more driven. At the same time it has a good sense of humour and an ear for conversation. Rylie finds a naked youth in the snow. He's suffering from hypothermia. His best friend has also gone missing and, when he is also found (barely alive) it uncovers a story of young love, jealousy, teenage drinking and revenge. Garrett is getting more clingy and wants Rylie to move in with him, Luke is considering going abroad to teach policing, Nikki continues to be a bitch while, in the same breath, demanding that Rylie help her solve the mysteries of the two boys. There's never a slow moment. And the self-described Italian Stallion helps bring it to the best kind of cliffhanger. 3.5 Stars raised to 4 Stars.
The "Rylie Cooper Mysteries" are a wonderful new mystery series for those who are looking for a light, quirky mystery with great characters! This book will make you laugh at the most unexpected moments. It will also keep you glued to your seat until you have solved the mystery, and then keep coming back for more to see what happens with Rylie next.
I feel like I am constantly searching for a fun, light mystery, that is smartly written. You would think with the whole Cozy Mystery genre, it would be easier. However, I have found that there are a lot of books that try and fail to live up to the hype. If you have read books by Shannon VanBergen (Glock Grannies); Kate Benitez (Amateur Womens Sleuth); or Chelsea Field (An Eat, Pray, Die Humorous Mysteries), you will love this new series by Stella Bixby.
Screaming, crying, throwing up. YOU CAN NOT END THE BOOK LIKE THAT!!! I even opened the next book and it doesn’t even dive into that scene. SHOOK! Ugh. I hate the main characters internal thoughts. She annoys me. Overall I think the mystery writing is good. The boy situation is constant and gives me a headache. Hal’s character flip flop gave me whiplash. Whats going on with Nikki and Luke? Why is Riley friends with someone who hates her? Just so many questions. The ending had me SCREAMING so I gave it 3 stars.

What a fun, sweet, interesting read! A little romance, a little work drama, and a little mystery! Quick read. Great to read in between intense novels. If you adore the adventures of Stephanie Plum, you will absolutely love the adventures of Rylie Cooper! I actually enjoy Stella Bixby's writing better! Rylie is such a likeable main character! This is a series so you get to know all the characters in her life well!
So much happens in this third book of the series! Fortunately no real bodies are discovered except one that isn't dead. Love is in the air and an apartment with her friend is happening! But the teenagers in town are causing problems, one coworker is avoiding Rylie, another is acting unusually friendly, and one fisherman is especially thankful for Rylie this Christmas. It adds up to another terrific book in this great series!
Rylie (the body magnet) Cooper, you guessed it. She finds another body. Only this time the person is still alive. Later that day, she finds another one. Both victims are from the local H.S. football team, and one of them is the star quarterback.
Developed characters and a couple of surprises.
I'm not really enjoying all the emotional drama that is revolving around Rylie and 3 different guys.
It's really a distraction from what is otherwise a good story.
Book overall was good for what it was. It’s more of a cozy mystery. I was able to get through it as a audiobook. I don’t think it would have held my interest as much just trying to read it out right. It flowed. I just finished book three and the characters story grows too. She is not just stalled with just continuously finding bodies. If you’re looking for a light read with mystery. This is your go too.
I have now read the first three books of the Rylie Cooper series and can't wait for more!! Stella Bixby does a great job creating an interesting character with all the insecurities and tenacity of a real person you can relate to. Very comparable to Stephanie Plum and yet refreshingly unique in her own right. Please bring in #4!!
I just finished reading throttled. I love this book! I started it last night and finished this morning. It was too good to put down, I feel like I can relate to Rylie from my early years on deciding what to do next. Mixed emotions not knowing what the right step is! Can’t wait to read Tampered. I love this series. A total must read!
I am loving this series. Riley's insecurities plague her but she keeps triumphing over them. It is the love triangle that keeps knocking her down. Add up the bodies she keeps finding be they dead or alive. I will continue reading this series and recommend it to anyone who likes light hearted ROM com mixed with a mystery or two.
Just the right amount of intrigue and just the right amount of entertainment and just the right length. I have read the first 3 and going to start #4. These are terrific books !! 💖
Rylie has committed to her new full-time position as Park Ranger. She is still a shot magnet. She just can't seem to help her. So her and Garret? Nikki and Luke? Tough pill to swallow!
This is the third one I have listened to of her audiobooks. It was good and had a good storyline. I really feel that Rylie and Luke will end up together when the series is complete. I get the distinct feeling that neither one is happy without the other. I am looking forward to book four.
3.5, should have read the first two in the series but I feel like this can be a standalone read. I had fun with it, did think it would have an element of motorcycles based off the cover and that was a bad assumption on my part. Still enjoyed.
Just found this series on accident: the books are quick reads with clear characters and interesting scenarios. Rylie is a bit of a Stephanie Plum in terms of stumbling into problems but much smarter.
Great series. Repeated characters from book to book seem to always find trouble. Author does a fantastic job painting a picture and giving insight into characters thoughts
