Brighton Walker

I'm a bit of a mess. I'm hyperactive, but lazy at the same time. I apparently have an annoying pen tapping problem. I can't cook even pre-made meals without a major catastrophe happening and I'm a little on the forgetful side. All reasons having a roommate isn't really a great idea. Which makes it a bit of a problem when my aunt kicks me out of the house I have been living in since I was born. Now I need a place to live, and Knox, one of my closest friends and the man who stole my heart almost from the moment I met him, is kind enough to offer the spare room in his house, but I just know I'm going to fuck this up. I'm just waiting for the day when the crazy ball of reckless energy that surrounds me at every turn is going to bounce right off of Knox's head and mess up his routine life.

Knox Green

I am a man of routine and I don't like for that routine to be interrupted… with the exception of it being interrupted by Brighton. He is funny and sweet and gorgeous and hates walking with the type of dedication professional athletes put into their career, which is why I usually carry him everywhere. When Brighton needs help with a place to live, I am more than happy to take him in. Spending time with the man has never been a hardship, and my feelings for him aside, having someone around all the time would be nice. I might not have been prepared for the type of life having him in my house has become, but even with one catastrophe after another, my feelings for him grow daily. Now if I could just find a way to prove to him that I won't ditch him at the first sign of trouble.

As with all my books, this series is pretty fluffy. Not much angst at all, no cheating and definitely a happy ending! Meant to be a light hearted read to make you laugh… or at least smile.

Enjoy!! ::blowing you kisses::

I didn’t like this one as good as the first. They don’t actually get together until right at the end. Plus what happened to the aunt? Why was she able to kick Brighton out? Wouldn’t his parents have left it to him? It’s just felt like half a story. I love these quick and easy books but this one was lacking to me. Oh well. I’m looking forward to Jordan’s book. I love abused characters who find a good man.

I found a new sweet and sexy series to devour! Brighton is book two in J.D. Light’s Training Days series and I can’t wait for more.

This visit to the gym walked me through Brighton and Knox’s story. These guys have been friends for years with feelings for each other for years, but both are too scared to risk their friendship for more. But they want more!

I loved the chemistry of these two. The mix of Brighton’s grace and flexibility as a dancer with Knox’s wide powerlifter body was fun to watch. I liked how Brighton described Knox at one point—“A barrel of sexy, rolled in hotness”. :) But there was more here too. The humor between these two friends added a sweet lightness to the action. We get growls, tickles, and poking fun at each other. And the carrying! Haha…Brighton’s solution to his hatred of walking was very cute.

A fun read full of heart, characters you want to see happy, and lots of muscle! Off to book three...

This book was ridiculously fun to read. I met Brighton and Knox in the previous book, and I knew back then I wanted to read their story. Brighton is as lazy as me, hate walking and all. He's messy, and chaos, and Knox wanted him and cannot live without him. So yeah, Knox was so right for Brighton.
Brighton and Knox are sweet and adorable. I enjoyed the a lot, now cannot wait for Jordan!

Yes, the books in this series are short, they're sweet, but they are chocked full of grammatical errors... ugh!!! :(

I love the over-the-top silliness and all of the mushy moments... BUT, I don't like having to go back and read a sentence three times to figure out what the heck the author is trying to say... you know what I mean?

Even with all that complaining, I will be moving on to the next book because how can I NOT know what is happening in Jordan's life... so, let's go read Jordan!!! *grin*

I’ve read the first 4 books of this series in a row and since they all follow the same formula I’m just going to write 1 review and be done with it.

These books are short, fluffy, have some hurt/comfort, and all end rather abruptly.

They’re nice for a rainy Sunday afternoon, but don’t expect anything too deep.

If that's Brighton's parents house, doesn't it mean it's Brighton's or was it willed to his Aunt?

Brighton and Knox are just so sweet together. I loved them in the first book, so getting to see more about them in their own book was really exciting. I laughed every time Brighton complained about having to walk, even if it was only 30 feet. I guess if I had my own powerlifter who was willing to let me drape myself all over him, I would too. They had to be a cute picture together.

I am loving this series! Short and sweet with enough story to entertain and make me fall in love with the characters. Brighton just tugs on your heartstrings with his adorablness and how little he thinks of himself whilst his best friend, Knox, is his opposite in most way yet they fit together perfectly.
Both work at the gym the series is based in so we get to keep up with other characters that we met in book one, still having fun while these two men have the chance at a possible future together. There are a lot of tender moments along with some hotness but I didn't see that as the main focus between these two men. I just wanted to wrap Brighton in the biggest hug and maybe some cotton wool, but Knox knew exactly how to talk to the young man and lift his spirit back up.
Cannot recommend this series enough for a short read that will lift your mood and heart as you are introduced to and fall in love with the MC's in the books. J.D. develops the story at an easy pace that doesn't feel rushed yet is right for the characters in the moment.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:
A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series
from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year),
it's like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok)
It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the
whole line, dismissed, repeat the class

LOVED Brighton & Knox! 🙏🌈💪

💖💖💖
Brighton & Knox were absolutely adorable as friends and then as a couple. While these two don't seem to have much in common, they "get" each other. Both guys have had crushes on each other for years, but never acted on their feelings for fear of ruining their friendship. 👬

After Brighton is forced to move, and with nowhere to go, Knox offers the spare room at his place. Through embarrassing incidents involving a treasure chest of adult toys, fire extinguishers, and flying fettuccini, the two discover perhaps friendships and crushes can coexist and form an even stronger bond. 🙏🌈💪

This lil novella had all the sparks, sass, snark, and sweetness we all love in a JD Light, read. You will love these guys, and their "gym fam," although there isn't as much interaction with them in this one, as there was in "Chandler." 💕

It is a quick, fun, light-hearted MM Romance that will make your heart smile. 😁

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second book in the training Days series. Brighton is a yoga instructor at the gym and has a crush on his best friend Knox. Brighton is a little hyper and when his aunt tells him he has to vacate the house he lives in because she is going to rent it, Brighton needs somewhere to live. Knox is a power lifter and he thinks Brighton is adorable. He really cares for him and when he needs somewhere to live, Knox tells him he can move in with him. Knox now has to try and control his feelings for Brighton. When Knox catches Brighton in an embarrassing moment, he doesn't realize Brighton's feelings for him right away, but when he does, he knows the feelings are mutual. I really liked this story. I laughed at the antics of Brighton. I think they really loved each other and both wanted to be together, but were scared they would lose the friendship. I am really enjoying this series and look forward to the next book.

Sweet and fun friends to lovers story that will make you smile. I really enjoyed this short and interesting story about these two MC's. They were so caught up in how much they valued the friendship that they didn't think to explore how much more they could have.

This is a low angst high on feel good story that picks up with MC's that we meet in book one of this series. Knox and Brighton find that they have lots to explore and i so enjoyed their journey.

This is the second book in the series and it could be read as a stand-alone, however i would recommend reading it as part of the series. There are characters that you will meet in book one that are a part of book two and you will enjoy book one too.

I was gifted this book from the LesCourt Author Services and i freely give my honest opinion and review.

This is a delightful addition to the Training Days series and I really enjoyed it. The characters are amazing, the storyline is great and it is just plain fun to read. It is sweet, hilarious, quirky and I love the banter between all of the characters. Knox and Brighton are perfect for each other and everyone around them can see that even though they seem to be oblivious. Brighton is a unique and endearing guy with a heart of gold. I love how sweet and caring Knox is with Brighton and there are some incredibly funny moments between them that had me laughing uncontrollably. I wish that the story was longer as I love this couple. I can't wait to read the next book in this entertaining series.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

I only found J.D.Light recently and I have to say I’m in love with the characters and the world of the Training Days series!

Brighton has to move out of the only house he’s ever known, a memory of the life he had before his parents passed. But his best friend, Knox, offers Brighton a place to live and although he’s thrilled, Brighton is worried he’ll drive Knox away by being himself.

The story is a wonderful example of finding the perfect person for you and loving, as well as being loved, for being a unique and caring person. Lovely read and I can’t wait for the next book! This is a definite series to read!!

Another simple and light-hearted friends to lovers tale between Brighton and Knox, this time round. My heart really went out to Brighton, his low self esteem and anxieties were heart breaking.

When he and Knox confess their love and attraction, I don’t think I’ve ever read a more cute and cuddly pair. Their emotional bond is lovely.

This series so far has been sweetness personified without being overly saccharine, which the author makes no bones about. All is rounded up beautifully with a sweet and satisfying ending that guarantees the couple’s HEA.

In short, if you want an ultimately sweet and feel-good story, this is for you.

Brighton by JD Light is the second book in the Training Days series. This quick contemporary m/m romance is a fun and sweet read.

Brighton and Knox are great characters. I love their interactions.... I needed them to get together because they were just adorable together. Perfect. The story was a no angst, all smoothie sweet read. Love it! Cant wait for next book in series.

Brighton and Knox are both sweet.

Knox is a great guy and I loved his character. The two got along well and there are a few funny parts.

Brighton was a little lazy when it came to walking and tends to do embarrassing things which I did find entertaining, but other than his few mishaps the story really didn’t do much for me.

I’d still like to read other books by this author as I did enjoy the first book and this one was sweet with a little bit of humor.

I really am enjoying the characters from the Training Days series and I was looking forward to Knox and Brighton’s story...

I did enjoy it however I don’t think the story gave these characters a chance.

I do love Brighton and his monkey climbing all over Knox I think their dynamic and chemistry is beautiful, but their story could of been so much more!

But yes I did enjoy the laughs and the moments ❤️

Two men who are complete opposites but are best friends, one is shy and insecure due to his size, the other is scared to be himself as he fears he will be left or told to leave, but together they make each other whole if they can see it.
A quick and sweet story set in the the same gym as book one, it is not necessary to have read it to enjoy this one.
I really like this series and I hope the couple I want is next.

This book was such a sweet and silly book. I love that Brighton pretty much rides Knox every where he wants to go... no walking whatsoever. Which is quite humorous when you think he works at a gym. Although I wish there was a little more story to why he has to follow his aunts requirements/rules, the cuteness factor between the two main characters is very sweet. I might even dare to say this one was better than the first. And bacon and jalapeno pizza sounds amazing!

I loved these bite sized, feel good, sweet books. I literally had a huge smile on my face the whole way through both of them. Brighton is so sweet, with abandonment issues and everything he touches just seems to go wrong. Knox is his best friend but wants to be more. Both characters have had a crush on each other for years but have no idea how the other feels. If you have an hour to spare and are looking for a book to read start to end in this time I can't recommend these books highly enough.

I'm loving this series so much! This was the perfect morsel of a story for a Saturday afternoon. I just loved Brighton and Knox together. They are the sweetest men who are just wrapped up in each other.

Brighton is a comedy of errors that Knox finds adorable. He brings light and laughter everywhere he goes and Knox brings acceptance and security to Brighton. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Brighton, the second book in JD Light's Training Days series, is a hot friends to lovers novella.

I definitely found myself delighted by Brighton and Knox. The mutual attraction is strong, but they've never acted on it. As friends, they are wonderful together, with great banter. But as lovers, they absolutely sizzle.

JD Light packs a whole lot of fun into these 67 pages. Brighton is definitely one hell of an enjoyable story. So far this series is terrific!

Sweet love story

I was really intrigued by Brighton and Knox in Chandler's story.

I loved that we got to their story straight away.
It was sweet, nice and funny. I love the comfort feelings between the characters and the crazy situations.

Sweet and fluffy story for a feel good moment

A delightfully quirky bit of reading

I found myself absolutely charmed by Brighton and Knox. They were introduced briefly in the first book, however that can be read as a standalone read. Their story is quirky and adorable. Both characters are likable and fun to read. I was surprised as to how quickly it was over, but a nice one nonetheless. I am interested to read the next one.

What a delightfully happy read. Despite Brighton’s insecurities and history of rejection, he’s still a funny and fun character. Knox the huge gentle giant also has his insecurities but is a loving and accepting character.
The other characters at the gym offer future stories needing to be heard.
This is a warm, feel good short story filled with humour and minimal angst.

Brighton and Knox are great friends. Both guys were funny and sweet.
I really liked their relationship.
Poor Brighton has a tonne of insecurities to overcome to believe that Knox's friendship is true and doesn't come with a heap of conditions.
A funny and sweet friends to lovers story and a great addition to the series.
I look forward to reading the next one.

This was a cute story, with humor and sex, as two friends try not to fall for each other. I liked Brighton and Knox, and I felt entertained by their silliness. Book One had a little more depth, but both are sweet romances. I am curious about the other employees of Training Days and will continue reading this series.
