This was a great set. When I get a box set I normally listen to one book and then have a break before going on to the next book in the set, just so I don't get the stories muddled up. This wasn't the case with this box set I enjoyed it so much I heard all three straight after each other and then joined the authors emailing list, I enjoyed it so much. What I liked was the characters they were so much fun and full of mischief that you never knew what they would do next.
Book one -Witch you well With a dying town the residents try to bring tourists to the area by doing up the town and opening a bed and breakfast. Never easy when you live in the middle of no where but impossible when one of the residents who just happens to be a witch wants the sleep town to stay just the way it is. Then on the grand opening of the B and B the first guest is murdered with a wand and all evidence points to Pearl. This all happens to be the same time Cendrine is planning her wedding, a new sherif is in town, old family friends turn up and plans to develop on the site of the B and B are discovered. Can Cendrine and her family of witches put aside there difference and work together to solve the mystery before they lose the B and B or Aunt Pearl goes to jail. Book two - Rags to witches Cendrine finds herself kidnapped by her crazy family and on the way to Las Vegas in a blink of an eye or even before she can cancel a date with the sherif. Pearl's godson is in trouble and needs her help. His grandmother has just been murdered and he might be next, as being next in line to be a mob boss has put a target on his back. With gambling, old grudges, marriages and guns it is about time Cendrine embraces her witchy heritage before someone puts a spell on her. Book three - Witch and famous Amber the middle child of the three west sisters has got the leading role in a film and talks the director into filming it in sleep westwick. The small town is anything but sleep when the cast and film crew descends and it is not long before the leading actor is killed on set. He wasn't the nicest man to work with so there is plenty of suspects but Cendrine gets worried when all the evidence starts pointing at her Aunt and Amber of the top antics don't help but add in Aunt Pearl's arson tendency and it is a recipe for disaster. Will the film be to hot for small town Westwickto handle. I liked the narrator as she had a easy laid back way of talking and used great voices for each character,
Audible:An entertaining set of the first three books. Each cozy mystery has a death and magic, with Aunt Pearl thrown in to throw us mortals into a tizzy.Cendrine does her best to figure out who did what to whom.Fun mysteries. Petrea Burchard was a fine narrator. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
These Cosy whodunnit stories are quirky, fun, and clean! The characters as individuals are absolutely hilarious , as a cast they are utterly entertaining! Typically I listen to one story in a set and then come back to the next one after reading something else, but I listened to the whole set straight through. I can clearly “see” Colleen Cross chuckling to herself as she wrote some of these scenes. The narration is top notch! Ms. Burchard has a great range of voices, and she is very efficient in keeping the myriad of voices straight. She made the characters come to life. So much so, that I almost caught myself looking around to see if I could see Grandma Vi!
